Wildstar is the best thing since TBC and WotLK (up to and including Ulduar, before all the casualization started). It's literally the game that WoW would be if it launched in 2013/14.

Wildstar is the best thing since TBC and WotLK (up to and including Ulduar, before all the casualization started). It's literally the game that WoW would be if it launched in 2013/14.

The questing. Many people complain that Wildstar has bad questing. It's not true. It's the same old questing that every other MMORPG out there has (maybe except of TSW, but I didn't play that game, so I can't voice my opinion). It's just the usual "kill X, gather Y, fetch Z". The difference is that Carbine didn't spend millions of dollars on voice acting (like SWTOR and probably TESO did) that becomes irrelevant after you pass the questing content, instead they spend it on dungeons, raids and developing new content. There is one more difference about questing. Wildstar's questing truly does teach you how to play the game. It's not hardcore experience by any means, but it's infinitely harder than questing in other MMORPGs. By level 50 you have to become a decent player, or you'll just die on every pack of mobs.

There's one annoying thing about questing - challenges. There's just too many of them. Fortunately, you can disable them if you don't want to bother with them.

Alright, I wrote about the questing first, because that's the first thing you do. Now let's talk about combat.

Combat is incredible. WoW has set the new frontier for fluid and responsive combat. No game has matched WoW's combat for 10 years. Well, now it has. Wildstar's combat is just as fluid and responsive. It's also more demanding and engaging, since you have to stay constantly on the move. And don't even get me started on healing - but let's just say there's a reason why healers have pretty much as long queues as dpsers. Spoiler: it's because it's just so damn fun.

Crafting is, generally speaking, great. I'll leave discovering everything about crafting to you, I'll just speak about the only flaw of the system. There's no way to repeat an old craft multiple times, every time you have to manually add the additives. Gets pretty dull if you have to craft, say, 10 of the same item. I'm pretty sure an addon will solve that soon, or Carbine will, given time. This is just a matter of polishing, really.

Now to the best part. Dungeons. Even the entry dungeons are equal to WoW's raids (I'd say they are equal to flex/normal raids in terms of difficulty). They are challenging, they require the whole team to know how to play. They are definitely not Deadmines. And the most important part is - they are just so damn well designed and FUN.

I can't speak for end-game content and PvP, so I'll leave it to the others. I'll just say it again: Wildstar is the new WoW. Whether it will be nearly as successful is to be decided (it probably won't), but it definitely deserves it.

Just try the game and get to level 15 for the first adventure and 20 for dungeons. You'll be amazed, that's guaranteed. This game is not TESO or SWTOR. The hype is real this time. Don't listen to idiots giving Wildstar 1/10 or 0/10.

Game is 100% broken. There are teleporting bots on every server which mine all the minerals. I am not joking about teleporting bots, the are real and Wildstar (just like Guild Wars 2) is overrun with them. Carbine will do NOTHING about this because the bots are paying customers, if they couldn't fix them in GW2, they sure ain't fixin them in Wildstar. Disgraceful game, disgraceful company.

While I really like the graphics and the universe the levelling is quite boring an repetetive which ruins it pretty much. The boss mechanicss of the first 2 dungeons are easy to understand and comprehend and offer no real challege (after 2 deaths everybody should know what to do). The craftig and cooking systems are quite unique and offer a lot of experimentation possiblities.

I tried this game looking for a new MMO. I admit that the art style and childish humor is not my cup of tea but my score is not based of any of that as it would probably appeal to a younger audience.

If you are looking for a MMO identical to all current MMOs but with a Sci-Fi Comic feel to it try this game, but if you are into a more serious MMO focusing on more than rushing to the end game there are better MMO's on the market.

Fighting in this game was rather fun but the rest of the game bogs down into a boring grind. I can see this game having a initial spike at launch due to the hype and a quick decline after a month when people realize its all fluff & no substance

Boring generic MMO in a bright & colorful wrapper.
I was initially excited by this game but the more I played, I realized that there is nothing new on offer here. Boring quests, long queues, bugs and broken mechanics.

Cartoonish mmo, which is really addressed to players up to 12 years old. Plot is non-existent and the whole game has a wow-clone-ish taste. I could stay logged for a maximum time of 2 hours and after that the game was uninstalled from my hdd.

I spent money on this game and cannot play. Why? The game isn't optimized at all, even though it's already launched! If you have a multi-core CPU or one of the CPU's that the Wildstar dev's didn't optimize for then save your money. Wildstar gets anywhere from 10-30 fps with everything turned on low, while games such as SWtoR get 60+ on ultra. The best thing about this game is its tech support. I've honestly never received personal responses so quickly from any game's support team. They were also very honest. If you are running an AMD GPU, best to save our money until these "additional optimizations" are complete. As for me, all I got for my $60 was a little wisdom that I'll close with: never buy an MMO on launch day. Expand

What would be the right word to describe this game? Boring.

Fetch quest after fetch quest, unispired dialog and booooring PvE. Combat system seems to be decent enough to give you little enjoyment, but that's it. One of the biggest disappointment in years.

I really wish I could like this game and get to the fun part which I've heard is after level 20. From level 13 to 16 I would log in, level for 20 minutes and log out again because I was bored senseless.

To top this off I really dislike the UI and the lack of simple features that you are used to having in modern games.

On the positive side the combat system did look promising and I liked the crafting system although this too suffered from UI problems.

There isn't anything really new there MMO wise. Even the sci-fi setting fails... you start in a space-ship and end up hunting rhinos on a savannah. Nothing interesting there for sci-fi lovers.

I played it regularly with friends and even the co-op action didn't help. Maybe it's an MMO for action junkies and for Hardcore people. You choose a side, based on who wears the most stylish uniforms, and are soon dropped into the open world. Where you wander around, doing standard MMO quests- "fetch ten bear's asses for a reward". I didn't play very far through the story, because it's boring and pointless. I honestly don't believe anybody cared once about their story content. This brings me to the combat. The combat is smooth, with GW2-esque style. The combat, in PvE, at least, is passable. O.K. meh. However, after enough of it, it just feels like a grind. The animation style, which... ugh... looks pretty bad, reminds me of borderlands 2 in the worst ways. Come to think of it, it reminds me of BL2 in a lot of ways. Crappy art style, boring quests and garbage storytelling. Also, I didn't finish either.

Interestingly, I never bought this game. I played about ten hours of it in the free 'beta' about a week before release (IE, the full game, but just a trial). And that told me everything I needed to know. Including that there was no way in hell I would fork over $60 and a subscription fee for this. Funny, how this game has a higher rating than ESO, a superior MMO by all means.

While questing every clickable object has shiny icon on top of it. So all I do is run from one shiny icon to another. The bright world style and the full screen bloom effect doesn't help either.

This MMORPG is so generic and typical in all aspects you really don't miss out anything if you don't play it. If you choose to do so, you will have a fair amount of fun (at least for the first, free month). But I can't see any reason to actually subscribe to it, unless it's exactly what you are looking for (a generic, typical Themepark grindfest with no real soul).

For those burnt out on WOW's content, WildStar is easy to endorse. Immediately familiar to anyone who's visited Azeroth and with enough new twists on the tried-and-tested theme park formula, Carbine's game is so overflowing with stuff to do that it's certainly justified in asking for a subscription - even if less people seem prepared to sign up to one.

Wildstar banks on hardcore raid and instance difficulty as well as its excellently implemented "dancing" real time combat mechanic to offer something significantly new and fresh to the MMORPG scene. Low server population and annoying hints of a "Pay To Win More" model hold it back in certain areas, but it has all the potential of becoming a well established and much loved setting for years to come.
