Да, в трейлерах Ubisoft такое случилось не в первый и не в последний раз. Но они не одни этим грешат. Тем не менее по своему непосредственному содержанию эта игра во многом инновационна. Стоит ли объяснять, почему? Прямо сейчас я прохожу GTA IV, наНе знаю как вам (если вы вообще проходили), а мне в целом и частностях понравилась эта игра. Да, в трейлере все выглядело немного лучше. Да, в трейлерах Ubisoft такое случилось не в первый и не в последний раз. Но они не одни этим грешат. Тем не менее по своему непосредственному содержанию эта игра во многом инновационна. Стоит ли объяснять, почему? Прямо сейчас я прохожу GTA IV, на очереди после нее GTA V. Первая в свое время "сносила крышу" наличием мобильного телефона, с которого можно было звонить, отвечать на звонки, на который можно было получать SMS-сообщения, с которого можно было заносить встречи в органайзер, да блин, там даже можно было установить одну из предложенных мелодий на звонок! Вторая делает все то же самое со смартфоном, добавляя присущие ему фичи. Но в Watch Dogs смартфон нужен не просто как еще один элемент взаимодействия с игровым миром, более того, с его помощью мы совершаем невероятные вещи, которые возможно совершить в мире реальном. Взлом камер, взлом систем водоснабжения, взлом домашних сетей, которые не являются неприступной крепостью от слова совсем и, разумеется, блэкаут. Эти операции может провернуть тот, кто умеет обращаться с "умной" техникой на уровне "выше среднего", а также обладает доступом в сеть, которую он непосредственно взламывает. Все это я привожу, естественно, в общих чертах, но это не может не пугать. В целом механики игры, связанные с хакерством, доставляют удовольствие и заставляют собой любоваться. Открытый мир сделан неплохо. И да, это все же не GTA, но этой игре и не нужно ею быть, она совершенно про другое. Также мне понравился сюжет, его общая направленность и подача. Ну и, как я отмечаю почти во всех своих обзорах, то, что связано со стрельбой и боями, мне пришлось по вкусу. Я думаю, к Watch Dogs иногда можно возвращаться, пока эта игра окончательно не стала реальностью.… Expand

With the garbage that there is today, that this Watch Dogs has received so much criticism is an injustice, even more so for a simple supposedly misleading E3 trailer that has not fooled me, because what I saw in the trailer matched what I later played. Worse are the subsequent Watch Dogs, which lost all that vigilante feature that AidenOne of the few jewels that exist among video games.     Watch Dogs is a game that still has a lot to offer even today, despite the fact that the main character may seem a bit stiff. While you're busy hacking into other characters' houses or phones, you can't help but wonder how Ubisoft managed to predict certain social trends with such precision, like the No-Vax grandma on "Tutte" or the onlyfanser/tiktoker taking selfies in front of a car inWatch Dogs is a game that still has a lot to offer even today, despite the fact that the main character may seem a bit stiff. While you're busy hacking into other characters' houses or phones, you can't help but wonder how Ubisoft managed to predict certain social trends with such precision, like the No-Vax grandma on "Tutte" or the onlyfanser/tiktoker taking selfies in front of a car in the garage. Additionally, the phone call about a girl, her hair, and a bird will forever be etched in my mind, making me wonder just how deviant the developers at Ubisoft must be.

    However, there are a few flaws worth mentioning. For example, there's no option to completely disable aim assist, which can make the gaming experience feel a bit too assisted, even when set to the minimum level. Furthermore, I had to drop the game due to the only mandatory drinking game in the main quest (Act 3). Unfortunately, it's not possible to customize the keys for mini-games, which put me in a difficult situation, especially considering my handicap that prevents me from using my left hand. Despite my two-hour effort to find a solution, I couldn't resolve the problem and had to abandon the game.

    In summary, Watch Dogs is a fantastic game, but it's a shame that certain technical limitations prevented me from fully enjoying the gaming experience.    … Expand

    This was actually great game. Feels bad that some people got triggered for it not being like trailer, but it still looks good. graphically one of the better looking games from 2014, Ubisoft of course did it even better with Unity same year, but still. Good game, that feels like GTA, but with hacker twist.

A great story, I loved the story of this game from beginning to the end, Aiden Pierce is a badass vigilante fighting    It is one of my favorite games of all time.     Watch Dogs has one of the things I love the most in the games. It is an incredible story very cinematographic and with a good plot.

    The gameplay isn't bad either, the stealth system is great the hack skills are cool, and a good innovation.

    The open world is kinda empty and dead, there are not many things to do aside from missions but at end of the day, the only thing that matters is personal enjoyment.

    So, if you like me that like a good story with a badass protagonist and good stealth gameplay with FC3 takedowns style, I think it is worth giving a shot in Watch Dogs.    … Expand

    Extremely and unfairly underrated. This game wasn't GTA V level (obviously), but it wasn't bad at all. I personally love both watch dogs and GTA V.

    Great fun game, has solid graphics by 2014 standard. Anyone expecting this to have 2022 graphics is delusional, it look perfectly fine even now and gameplay holds up well. Overall this game is way better than empty, modern open world games like Cyberpunk 2077 or Elden Ring.

The story shows to you a criminal who lost her sister-in-law, the only person who was happy with him. For his fault, Maurice killed her, and Aiden thinks that the only way to redeem is the revenge. But thats a big mistake. He tries to kill maurice, a few days, her sister gets kidnapped and he tries to go after damien, but hes does criminal things. After a while, he mets clara lile, her helper, after, he meet T-Bone, unfortunately, he starts to loose, things at the end of the because his obsession to kill damien, he loses clara, she is killed; he loses his family because they don't wanna be on risk, he loose his dignity and finally, when he kills damien, he kills his friend, jordi-chin. I personally think that the story represents how bad is the revenge, and how a criminal, usually can't become good person. Honestly, i hate the end because jordi-cin for no reason is still alive, but the story is breaking-down, you feel bad for the characters around Aiden pearce. The graphics are generic, in 2014 were good, but nowadays, i recommend to put graphical mods because some moments growned very bad at the time. The world is interesting, has some interesting activities but are very short and its easy to get the final trophie (platinum, in ps4, for example). The gameplay its very good, and the car persecutions are spectacular, with all of the hacks and slow motion, the final boss its very original, because you needd to drive around the city escaping and trying to go places wich in a short time, get hacked. The atmposhere is good, and dark. The game has a lots of bugs. Good performance. I recommend it, but only for 30$… Expand

The story is not the strong suit of the game as it is based on revenge for your family but the real deal is hacking in an open world environment.     This game shouldn't be called Watch_Dogs, it should be called "Underrated", because that's what it is. One of the most atmospheric open world cities (modern) of all time. I like GTA 4 and GTA 5 more, but Watch_Dogs is very closely behind them in 3rd spot.

    Great open-world AAA GTA style hacker gamer, that is unique enough to stand on it's own from GTA series. I'm saying all this as a hardcore GTA fan btw. Aiden is very cool, serious, deep main character. He is not you average hero who saves the day and acts nice. No. He is serious vigilante on revenge quest and that's what makes him actually interesting and cool. Anyone who wanted him to be perfect hero, can look for some other game, Sims maybe. There's lots of similarities between Max Payne and Aiden, i have never seen anyone whining about Max Payne or maybe these haters have just never played that masterful shooter series, that is Max Payne. Either way Watch Dogs is already a classic and has huge fanbase. Two sequels were absolute garbage, only Aiden DLC was decent. Hopefully Ubisoft want actually make money again and next WD game will be prequel with Aiden as a main character.… Expand

    Watch Dogs obviously reminds GTA 4/5, but what makes it stand out and it's own thing is hacking element. There's also unique world design, cool outfits you can wear, lots of guns and while it's story might not be amazing (it's decent), there's still lots of fun to be had and many well designed missions. Graphics actually look pretty good, especially at night time, rain effects are great,Watch Dogs obviously reminds GTA 4/5, but what makes it stand out and it's own thing is hacking element. There's also unique world design, cool outfits you can wear, lots of guns and while it's story might not be amazing (it's decent), there's still lots of fun to be had and many well designed missions. Graphics actually look pretty good, especially at night time, rain effects are great, etc. This game has this unique atmosphere that i haven't really felt in any other game. It's dark and serious, very similar to Max Payne to be honest, but still different enough. Real star of this game is obviously ability to hack almost anything, unlock cars, change traffic lights, stop or make trains move and so on. Overall very cool game. Sadly sequels were awful, but hopefully WD 4 will be something similar to Watch Dogs 1.… Expand

    I was playing Watch Dogs all night yesterday and i just can't get over how good and underrated this game really is. City design is absolutely fantastic for this 2014 video game. Graphics are solid on PC, story is fun enough.     One of my favorite semi-futuristic, city-centric, open-world games. I can't believe it was so underrated when it came out, but seems like over the years, lots of people have finally found this game and it gets the respect it truly deserves!

    Amazing game in 2021! Don't listen to the negative reviews. Most of them are to do with performance issues that were fixed a long time ago. The game is much better now and is totally worth buying in 2021!

    Aiden Pearce is legendary protagonist. I like him here and in DLC in Watch Dogs Legion. Cars physics is terrible. But story very good. Graphics looks great.

    Watch Dogs 2 was absolutely awful and i was really disappointed in basically everything they did with Watch Dogs 2. But Watch Dogs 1 is absolutely amazing and one of the most enjoyable games Ubisoft has ever made. Highly recommending, if you like GTA 4 or GTA 5.

Of course it can't be GTA 5 level popularity because that's the only game Rockstar has rn (nobody plays rdrd2 online lol), but Ubisoft has been constantly making new games. So saying that GTA 5 is more popular today than Watch Dogs is kind ofWatch Dogs is still very much popular game and people still very much play it. Not sure why some would think that it has died out. That's not true. Of course it can't be GTA 5 level popularity because that's the only game Rockstar has rn (nobody plays rdrd2 online lol), but Ubisoft has been constantly making new games. If Ubisoft was milking Watch Dogs since 2014 with similar online support as GTA 5 then it would be also more popular today. But Watch Dogs was always meant to be Single Player game first.     One of my favorite open world games of all time. Seriously, it's great. there's almost no other game with dark and gritty atmosphere like Watch Dogs has. It's raining all the time, it has interesting city design. It's almost like Max Payne, but it's open world and you can hack everything. Amazing.

    One of my favorite modern-open world-city games, just behind GTA V. Hacking mechanics makes it fun and stand out more than games like Sleeping Dogs. Nice atmosphere, decently designed city. It could have had more, but at the same time, it has just enough content.

    Взламывать почти все интересно, управление машиной на клавиатуре отвратительное. А если у тебя включена русская раскладка то все в каких-то непонятных знаках! Стрельба нормальная, но вот NPS на дорогах тупые пипец на светофорах это ещё не заметно а если его убрать они будут ездить по очереди а не по правилам. А если у тебя включена русская раскладка то все в каких-то непонятных знаках! Стрельба нормальная, но вот NPS на дорогах тупые пипец на светофорах это ещё не заметно а если его убрать они будут ездить по очереди а не по правилам.     First of all, People were ranting over this game because it did not look like what ubisoft showed in E3 trailer. They are also complaining about why Aiden can not shoot while driving. Besides they are not happy about the bugs at the release of this game. Moreover, some people are ranting because they can not pass a mission because of its difficulty.

    However, I have played this game recently in 2021 and the graphics did not seem that bad to me. Secondly, Aiden not being able to shoot while driving actually makes sense because on one hand he's holding his phone to hack and he's using the other hand to drive. Thirdly, I have completed the whole game and could not even find a single bug. Also, the game is really difficult even on normal difficulty but I like it. Lastly, I would recommend everyone to play the main story of this game, it is a masterpiece. The only complain I have is that there are some audio issues and the control for audio settings did not work for me.    … Expand

    Not regretting trying it, here's the lesson, never take negative reviews seriously on metacritic until you have tried certain game for yourself. You might miss out on many outstanding games that are hated for dumb reasons.

    Graphics in this game were ahead of it's time, looking at trash games like cyberpunk2077 makes me like games like this even more (and overall open-world as well)

    Ubisoft's flagship title has a really, really repulsive protagonist. The entire storyline feels like it was cranked out of a automated story generator. On the positive side, Watch Dogs looks really good on PC, especially after modding the graphics to match the visual splendor of the early E3 demos. [Aug 2014]

    Nothing could have realistically lived up to the immense level of hype that Ubisoft stirred up for this game, and while I value strong narratives and envelope-pushing technological advancements, I place just as much importance in the ability to enjoy the gameplay that's being offered to me. Watch Dogs is one of the more exciting sandbox games of the last few years, and if this is to become Ubisoft's next big franchise, I'm excited to see where they take it.
