A worthy DLC to a very good game. Easy to follow storyline and lots of new quests.

I loved this DLC. Some people complained that it was too short for the price and that they got through it in three hours but honestly, if you're getting through it in three hours, you're doing it wrong. Lots of interesting new storyline, multiple zones to play in, different endings and the difficulty scales with your party level. You can play it early on when your party is level 10 or so or even late in the game when you're reaching the Yuma County Speedway about to face down Liberty at the highest levels. Interesting new weapon and combat mechanics to play with and new crafting aspects make it a lot of fun. Expand

Loved the base game but this dlc was pretty disappointing. The storyline was decently written for what little storyline there was. Honestly after doing all side quests, and finishing in about seven hours on supreme jerk, I realized that there was hardly any storyline at all. It might as well be called wasteland 3 arena seeing as how the majority of the time was spent mindlessly battlingLoved the base game but this dlc was pretty disappointing. I was invested in the base game story which added to the joy of combat. The dlc was severely lacking this. Expand

The Battle of Steeltown is a well-written piece of additional content for Wasteland 3 that doesn’t quite live up to expectations due to its experimental approach to combat and short running time. It’s a pleasant enough playthrough for a few hours despite the difficulty spikes, but it’s ultimately a compelling enough reason to come back to Colorado.

The first story DLC for the truly great RPG is simply okay. Wasteland fans will enjoy the new adventure, although it isn’t long (6-7 hours) and offers almost nothing you haven’t already seen in the base game. Be aware that you can’t play this DLC after completing the original story – you either need a save you made before “the point of no return”, or you have to start over and reach at least level 9. What a nonsense! [08/2021, p.46]

Wasteland 3: The Battle of Steeltown DLC is a very nice complement to the main game. The story contained in the expansion pack is of the same caliber as what's in the main campaign, but it also does a great job of slotting itself into the campaign without feeling like a huge diversion. The environment is fresh, and the enemies are enjoyable to fight, especially those on mechs, but the gameplay mechanics introduced here and in the previous patches give Wasteland 3 veterans enough of a reason to return and try another run. It's good enough that we want to see what the next expansion looks like.
