It feels like every Act is a single very long quest with one long road to follow with 3 different enemies... Seriously they could've just chained them all together without going back to town because they are all the same two areas with the same 3 types of monsters. Game in current state is worth max $10 or even f2p because there just no content. Take a random indi RPG game and it will have more monsters, maps and skills for $10/$20.

All the mini-bosses are the same except they deal another type of dmg ( poison, fire ) they all have the same directional attacks depending on the direction you face them.

Skill system is really bad they made the same mistake as Diablo 3, you only have like 3 or 4 builds to choose from ( for example, block, counter attack or crit for imperial ) compared to path of exile's 1000's of builds.

Also really really really bad loot system ( like diablo 3 ), there are only x mods that can possibly roll on an item with a small range. Blessing does help a little bit but I would've loved to see way more mods other than the basic ones like crit chance, crit damage, armour, health etc which in return would allow for more builds and gives this special feeling when you find a good item which I haven't had once in my whole play-through... Game would play 100% the same without any loot, just bonus stats on level up and choose which bonus stat you want and you have the same result.. Even Anthem has a better loot system and that's the worst I've ever seen I think.

Better endgame than Diablo 3 though... Which isn't that hard haha

    TLDR: Casual Diablo 3 Rip-Off

*Score is relative to game price/ content quantity / content quality

The game can be completed in 10 hours and endgame can be max out in 5 hours. This is unacceptable in Diablo-like loot&slash game that cost 60$. There's also no RPG element in the game, there's only linear upgrade for your ability. There's not even SHOP where player can buy and sell item.

My biggest issues is the voices, there was so many annoying player callouts , bad acting and bugs in the voice audio, it was a joke. In the first 5 hours of exploring this game I heard my characters voice change from female to male 4 times on 2 different characters, (What the !?!?! is that). The battle noises and callouts of the Dwarf and Elf are so annoying I had to turn voices volume down, but even that doesn't kill all the irritating laughs and stuff. The sound is a constant assault on your senses and it hard to like much with this constant irritation. It doesn't help that the female character look like the single mum with 5 kids smoking a ciggy outside your local pub of a tuesday, yeh there's no femme fatales or sexy badass warriors in this game, just annoying uggos.
The leveling is terrible , it's just so limiting. First your limited by skills being locked , then by not having anywhere near enough points, then by boredom. You don't sell your gear, you just give it away, removing (trading) one of my favorite part of most ARPGS i've played. Its a buggy undercooked bore fest . Get Inquisition Martyr, a good game.
One good thing is the graphics and performance, game world looks great an is 60 frames, but the reuse the same 3 environment 3 or 4 times each in the campaign, making that less of a win.

As a game though, not so much. Maybe if the price tag was appropriate. Chaosbane lacks content, especially in the endgame segment. Not to speak of the bugs, the bad matchmaking and the loveless written and short story (~5-7h per Character, depending on your playstyle).

    Endgame:
    - 3 sets for each class (no "named" items as alternatives)
    - the specialization through the god tree and sets is unbalanced af
    - the modes get boring fast, maybe with a greater loot variety it'd be more rewarding.
    - ..or for example an xp driven progession post level cap for extra loot, item progession, enhanced god tree or something.

This comparison might seem weird, but in its current state the game reminds a bit of Anthem. Good gameplay in itself and nice looks, while almost everything else lacks depth and fine tuning. In my opinion it's not worth 50€, glad I bought it for less.

No merchants, lack of loot diversity, no variety in weapons, no NPCs, no side quests, generic enemies lacking in diversity and a bad skill system make for an extremely ho-hum game that highlights the developers indie-game experience.

When will prices reflect the quality of the product? This game is not anywhere near the price tag. $30.00 Max. If you're not a Warhammer fan, go buy Grim Dawn, Diablo 2, 3, Diabo 2 Median XL, or Torchlight 2 for some recommendations. Hell, you can get them all for the price of this game. The glaring fact is... This game is too expensive. By a lot.

This may come off harsh and i'm sorry

They even manage to botch the loot system. There's nothing to buy, you just dump all your loot on a guy who periodically gives you bonus points. And the gear upgrades are so incrementally small and frequent that you never notice any difference. Nothing's ever special because a slightly better version of that same thing is always 5 minutes away. It's a conveyor belt of 1% upgrades. If you set out to intentionally drain all joy out of the hack n' slash genre, this is about what you'd come up with. Expand

You know how difficult it was to play it for several hours to give an objective assessment. I can safely say that this is the second worst game of 2019 (the first game is Battlefield V). Absolutely boring, not beautiful, not dynamic, terrible sound effects, outdated graphics. All this - you will find in this game. If you like to hurt yourself, welcome to this game. A score of 2/10.

Save yourself the trouble. Wait 2 months till it goes on sale and buy yourself a copy. It is not worth 70 plus dollars for a 6 hour story mode and horrible itemization in a loot-based game.

It's one of THE MOST repetitive games i have ever played in my entire life (and i've played PONG, man). I mean, grind games are repetitive, you grind. But this game takes it to another level: it's basically 4 acts/chapters that work EXACTLY the same. Chaos champion messing region around, you need to help the leader of the locals by gathering supplies, rescuing prisoners/hunting parties, doing 2 or 3 missions to "weaken" the said champion - story-wise -, then face a big boss with 3 life bars and 3 attacks, that keeps summoning minions and recovering health from the second bar onwards.

I kid you not, if you are daltonic, you won't see a difference between the entire game, for all that changes are the main colors for the monsters (green, red, purple and blue). Some monsters have some slightly different design, but they all work the same.

I am most impressed with Gears Workshop, to let these kinds of games to be released without a quality control to reflect the warhammer brand whatsoever. They just go with the cash-grab flow, it's so disappointing, especially with great settings that are warhammer fantasy and 40k (Inquisitor Martyr, i'm looking at you).

For real, i played this game FOR FREE (imagine paying the full rip-off price) in a friends account, to check it out, up to the 4th Act, and it wasn't worth my time. And i'm a big warhammer fan, still waiting for another game as good as the first Dawn of War (and expansions).

I don't think this game would truly please neither warhammer fans, nor ARPG players, giving no more than that "well, better than nothing" feel. And that wasn't even the case for me, what a complete waste of my time...

Chaosbane collapses all over the line here, and I've tried to give it a go and not leave a negative review after the first hour.
Mechanically it is quite bland, I was quickly forced to switch to the controller instead of the mouse, due to the nightmarish aiming of a ranged character. It was fine if 50% of the shells were hitting. This also immediately leads to the first thing that put me off as soon as I realized how this game was going to take care of character development. Not counting a special tree, which gives almost only bonuses like "+ 4% damage in elite" and about 5 skills (I counted 3 active and 2 passive), we have a solution that takes away the pleasure typical for the genre from building a build, replacing it with a nightmare substitute. Well, by increasing the level, we get a new active or passive skill (or an improvement of the old one) automatically, the player has no influence on what develops, so we can usually spend waiting, for example, 5 lvl (as was my case) to finally get an upgrade, which we cared about. We can only choose what our hero can currently have, but we have a moronic obstacle in the form of a pool of points that we cannot exceed. It comes down to the fact that, for example, we have a limit of 30 points, and skills (both active and passive) initially cost us from 5 to 15 of these points. Of course, the basic attack costs 0 points, but its upgraded version normally has a higher value assigned to it.
At the same time, skill upgrades (which we do not control) are often worse than the lower-level versions (sic!). An example would be the wizard's basic missiles, which on the second level can set fire to the ground under the feet of enemies and deal additional damage in the fight against hordes of enemies, but the top-of-the-range version takes this ability away from us in favor of turning the projectile into a short-range shotgun-style attack. And here it is also worth saying that I chose the character of a wizard - typically for the first fire in such games in my case. Imagine my surprise when it turns out that the game doesn't quite know what to do with it. We have a not very sensible combination of skills over a very short distance, while at the same time awarding mobility (which is typical in this genre), but it does not prevent the tone of passive spells that make us stand still, which is supposed to match those long-distance spells, which in turn, etc. And there is no escape from this, because the game is pushing our throats into skills with a new level that we would not take in a normal hack'n'slash.
Another thing is the equipment. Here I will partially touch on the WH issues, because it's really nice that it refers to such elements. We have a wizard's outfit with the symbolism of Nagarythe or Caledor. BUT the game in return for completing a given "theme" gives you a big middle finger in the form of a pathetic bonus, which in no way compensates us for rejecting an eq that does not match the "set". On the plus side, however, the illusion system is available almost from the beginning of the game, so there is no problem to artificially adjust the appearance of items. The problem is that there are pathetically few such designs, maybe it reaches 30, including some unique and collector's versions (?).
But here's another thing - the game is simply empty in activities. The only thing (after 5 hours) is practically a storage box, a guy to donate excess items to the skin collection and start new missions. After all this time it is sad that we are still collecting some shards or golden crowns, but the game does not offer any option to spend them yet. Except for a rebirth after death that happened to me once for a test what happens in this situation. And here's another thing - the game is very simple. Immediately I had to raise the difficulty to high to feel like normal in Grim Dawnie, and it was pretty casual anyway. It doesn't have to be a flaw, but ...
…There is simply nothing in the game but a grind in clumsy locations. Hordes of enemies are attacking us in amounts not very adequate for the sense of the campaign's events, or at least for people who embrace any of the WH lore. In Nuln, we most often see city sewers that have decorations as if they were a dwarven karak, and there are Nurgle cultists sitting there, who apparently also like the Horned Rat, because often the decorations are simply Skaven. However boring gameplay, you can try to save with a coop, although I don't know why walking through straight corridors would benefit from it.
The plot is not very close - making Teclis a handicapped idiot, ungor as a cult commander in the middle of the city, etc.

In Warhammer: Chaosbane, there is only dull combat. Use two or three favorite abilities to kill hordes of same-looking enemies, marvel at bad animations and identical corridors, and try not to lose your mind. Even cooperative mode, which usually makes everything better, is a boring chore.
