The one negative and the reason that I have docked it a point is that it is somewhat buggy with some bugs having been around for years with nothing being done about them. But it is the only free to play game I have ever put money into, quite simply because they have made it in a way where I feel I do it when I want to and not because I need to. Expand

Overall very enjoyable game. Been playing on-and-off since 2018.

Pros: - Very fun combat, beautiful graphics. The soundscape is repetitive but solid. - Plenty of in-game activities in a variety of quests and tasks. - Excellent community! - The GUI is a bit clunky when in the orbiter. A part of that is just how complex this game is though. - Wide variety of builds and playstyles

    - Wide variety of builds and playstyles
    - Fun space-ninja looter-shooter-grindy game, if that's your thing
    - Itemization is awesome; leaves room for customization

It is truly F2P. You can not spend a dime on it, and still have all opportunities available to you. This is because you can farm items and trade for premium currency. The premium currency only speeds up your progression - though there is no competition, so you are buying convenience only.

I enjoy it enough that I have purchased some of the premium currency over the years.

The game is updated with major content fairly regularly. The Devs are in-touch with the community.

    Cons:
    - player (client) hosted games, so occasionally it is clunky when there are disconnects or the host leaves the group
    - some aspects are extremely grindy (like farming the Necramech for the first time!!)

    TL;DR
    Play this game, Tenno.

Warframe is a good example of how to execute a free-to-play without overtly predatory mechanics. What starts as an engaging shooter evolves into a deep and rewarding experience that borrows from the grind of ARPGs and converts it into pure adrenaline-pumping enjoyment.

One of the hallmarks of WF is its mission design, particularly in those types that allow players to choose their exit time. It's all too easy to lose yourself for 20+ minutes, just blasting away hordes of enemies in a satisfying dance of destruction. The game’s blend of gunplay, melee combat, and parkour movement system offers a high skill ceiling, letting players feel a genuine sense of progression as they increase their MR and master the game’s mechanics.

The economic structure within the game is probably the best I've seen in a freeish-to-play game (I do buy the platinum when on discount). Nothing in WF is market exclusive. Even Platinum, the in-game currency, which can be purchased with real money, can also be earned through gameplay. In many cases its pay for convenience, do I want to farm or forma or buy a 3 pack? Do I really want to farm this arcane? etc. This gives every player a fair chance to acquire all the content without spending a dime, making for an even playing field if someone wants to spend their time instead.

Graphics and sound design are robust, with a futuristic aesthetic that's both cohesive and unique. The continuous updates and additions from the developers keep the game fresh and add new layers of complexity and fun.

That said, the game's grind may not be for everyone. While the core gameplay loop is enjoyable, it can feel repetitive to some. Additionally, new players might find the game's lack of direction and complex systems a bit daunting at first. I personally use outside tools and websites, the wiki is pretty much mandatory.

But for those who invest the time to delve into its intricacies, WF offers a rich and rewarding experience. With its enjoyable gameplay and large community, its worth trying.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There is only one thing you need to know about Warframe: It's free.

Oh, maybe I didn't make myself clear enough. When I say that Warframe is free, I mean, literally speaking, it is free. Still not clear enough? Alright, I'll elaborate. Apart from two different types of items - appearance items (such as skins and coloring pallets) and weapon/Warframe slots - it is possible for all players to access almost all types of in game items and entities (apart from a few that are no longer available to everyone). In this manner, it is possible for you to obtain every Warframes (characters or so to speak), every weapons, every non-visual-based items and the likes. Of course, there are conditions to fulfill, and obtaining everything will most likely take up a good portion of your time (isn't this what you are looking for?), but the point is, it is perfectly possible to play Warframe in the long run without paying a single cent. It's your choice.

So, what is Warframe? In this game, you are basically a character known as "Tenno" who fights battles within a futuristic solar system. You will be teaming up with 3 other Tennos (this is a 4 player co-op game) to complete missions laid out by Lotus, a female commander issuing you orders. Nah, she is nicer than your ex-girlfriend, so don't worry about that.

You will basically be facing three separate forces, Grineer, Corpus and the Infestation (think of the three races in Starcraft if you want to get a better idea). There are different types of missions, ranging from elimination, rescue, spy, to defense and rescue. As for weapons, basically you get to equip a primary weapon (rifle, shotgun, sniper and many others that are hard to categorize), a secondary weapon (categorization is hard for this as well) and a melee weapon (sword, mace, fist... you know the deal). As for your character, you will be using one out of the somewhat 10-ish (slightly less than 20, though the number is gradually increasing as more update comes by) Warframes. Each Warframe comes with different stats, such as self-repairing shields, like those in halo, health, energy (mana) and speed. Still, more importantly, each Warframe has its own unique set of 4 skills. These skills are great assets for the players as most of the times they will come in handy. One thing to note is that gender is preset, so those transsexuals don't have to fake their gender anymore, which is, well ... you decide if it's good or not. There are also mods (modifications) that you can insert into your weapons and Warframes to make them much stronger than they originally are.

Oh and there are parkour. Learn how to press "WASD" + "LShift" + "LCtrl" + "Space" in fluid coordination. It will be helpful and painful, but you will definitely need them.

    Simple?

Unlike many co-op shooters, Warframe definitely has its merits. One of the most apparent distinction of the game is that it has a leveling system that can be found in most MMOs. You can level up both your weapons and Warframes to a maximum rank of 30. Moreover, you can rank up your mods as well to make them more powerful. In this way, Warframe won't be a simple "run-shoot-kill see-score go-sleep" type of game. Never. There are things more important than that.

Another merit of Warframe is that there are frequent updates. When I say frequent, I mean FREQUENT, as in one big update per month or so. There will be new game modes, Warframes, weapons, mods ... etc. I mean, come on, who thinks that L4D2 came too fast after L4D1 is released? I do. Who is still waiting for L4D3 after all these years? I am. Who thinks that Gabe Newell should fulfill the unsaid promise of completing the trilogies of Valve games? I do. Come on, we have been waiting for L4D3 and Portal 3 and HL3, and we are sick and tired of being sick and tired of waiting. This won't happen for Warframe though. The game has a gradual and comfortable pace of updating. You get new contents every now and then, and they usually blends well with the game. Usually.

Still, like most games, there are pros and cons of Warframe and I have to sincerely admit that there are shortcomings with this game when compared to other games. One major shortcoming (I won't say flaw) of this game is that it lacks a concrete story line. Apart from some trivial storytelling, there really aren't much of a tale going on. There are stories told, I'm not saying there aren't, but they are rather weak. I know, that is not their aim, and that is not really the point of Warframe, but compared to the rich (though monotonous) storyline of L4D and Portal, Warframe needs to good a better job here.

Also, the game can be rather repetitive. You know, this applies for most Coop shooters, so there really isn't much to say about this. Yeah, repetitive.

So, in general, try Warframe. It's free. If you don't like it, drop it. Simple as that.

I just want to start off with something that every negative review has done to mislead you, this game's reviews are shallow and misleading. Buying items straight up in this game is expensive yes, but here is what no one has told you. 1) you get store discounts as DAILY REWARDS that range from 20% 75% off all real money purchases. These are rewards that increase in value for each consecutive day you log in. 2) There is NO I repeat NO in-game item that can't be obtained through crafting (which requires no real money). You will get everything you need just by playing the game, you can simply buy the blueprints in the shop for in-game credits. I have almost every warframe in the game and over half the weapons (including the clan tech ones that can't be bought, only built in the clan dojo) in the game. I also have all of the sentinels. I didn't pay for ANYTHING. I paid $15 for a $30 platinum pack when I got a 50% discount, and I used that to get a bunch of color packs, upgrades, and everything else I needed. So basically, I paid $15 for 200 hours of playing. That's a damn fine deal if you ask me.

All the issues the game had in beta with bad menus and glitches and lag are pretty much non-existent now. They finally got the level system evened out, so that difficult enemies are more common. The defense and survival missions are more difficult, and are a lot of fun to do with friends as these missions only end when you decide it's too difficult to continue. They give you the option to risk everything for 5 more minutes of rewards, or take what you've earned and leave. The combat is fun, and changes drastically with each new weapon or warframe you unlock. Updates have all come with big changes and lots of content. All the missions that aren't survival, boss, or defense feel very samey, but you don't have to do those missions for anything other than map progression. There's also special maps that you unlock through keys you find. All the bosses that are left over from beta (about half of them) are totally boring and uninteresting bullet sponges. The other half are challenging, cinematic, and for the most part, epic. Getting all of the mods and unlocks to maximize your weapon's potential require you to explore orokin derelict, nightmare missions, alert missions, and the void. The mission variety is actually impressive, it's the lack of enemy variety that hides it. Clans are now accessible and dojos can be built by anyone. I started a clan with just a few friends and our dojo is huge, and it adds some personality to the game. They've added some pvp, there are special events nearly every weekend, and the number of mods in the game has increased greatly. Damage 2.0 added another level of strategy to weapon builds, as now each different damage type has unique on-hit effects (stuns, bleeds, AOE's, debuffs, etc) and you can even combine mods for hybrid damage types. They added a huge amount of lore to the game, and reward you for scanning enemies by giving you bonus exp and telling you what damage types each enemy is weakest to and even telling you what their drop table is, enabling you to hunt for mods with more efficiency.

The movement and graphics in the game are awesome. It's well-optimized for low-end machines as well (I can run it on medium settings with just my APU). The enemies in the game all offer samey challenges, it gets grindy for sure, but it's all for unlocking new weapons and warframes. Every item unlock you get breathes freshness into the game as there is such a great variety of functionality. Therefore unlocking new items is the driving force of the game. It's tantalizing when your friend unlocks some new weapon that looks amazing and now you have to get it for yourself!

Lastly, I did not put 200 hours into this game in one sitting. This is a great game that you can play for a bit, get into other stuff, and then come back later to find new events and items and content waiting to be unlocked. The developers have been very dedicated to adding content throughout the entire project and I think their work deserves more credit.

So yes, there is a lot of grinding ahead, and there are serious balance issues that you won't notice because it's almost entirely coop. Lastly the great mission variety is obscured by a lack of enemy variety. Those are really the only things that keep this from being a 10, but the game's issues have been over-represented in most of the reviews. For the cost of entry, you don't have the excuse as a gamer to not check this out and decide for yourself.

It's not that uncommon to be matched with a max level player with max level weapons speeding ahead killing everything, leaving you to trail behind through empty corridors (or end up alone against a huge swarm of enemies to die). Thankfully you can play in private mode with friends, though in my experience they simply stop playing after a relatively short while. Usually around the time they unlock all the planet nodes. Finally there is the issue of lag, public servers are hosted by average joe players which also seem dependent of PC specs. The result is a 75%+ chance of ending up in a barely playable server. It's an inexpensive way to go about it, freeing up money for development. Though I'm not sure it's worth the costs in terms of enjoyment. I stick to solo/private at any rate, I can imagine a lot of people doing so...

To sum it up: it's fun but it only seems to be able to truly grab a certain demographic. Again, it's not bad, it's just grows stale too quickly.

This is an action based game but it does get repetitive. Unless you are willing to drop some cash on new weapons and Warframes then you will spend a good amount of time either grinding levels or farming for crafting items.

One measure of a good free to play for me boils down to one question: Can you unlock everything without spending money? This is true with nearly everything in game.(for the exception of cosmetic upgrades) The real money market is quite pricey though but you can acquire new weapons in a relative short amount of time. Different planets drop different gear, this means you will be jumping around quite a bit from one to the next trying to find the crafting gear you need.

This game is great fun, but it is not for everyone. If you do not like grinding then you should look somewhere else. If you like Diablo, then you will find a lot to like. (It is the best grinding for level and gear comparison I can make)

Graphics are great, some levels can feel the same after awhile and they are quite large so there is a learning curve to following the objective marker. When you first start out you will get lost and left behind. Solo missions are good for leveling up, but the game is not well suited for it. Solo you will be faced with almost overwhelming odds, adds a good amount of challenge but can be unfair especially with missions that require you to carry data packages and they take away your primary weapon for half the mission.

Overall great game. It is still being improved upon and it keeps getting better.

Warframe may not be the perfect game, but seriously no game can, so admire what this game has to offer. I've played this game since the first week of it's release so I seen it grow and improve, constatly having new updates with these new weapons, locations, tile sets, ui, you get the point. I didn't play Warframe to hear a story... I came to be a space ninja with guns.

The only major problem (my opinion) for me that is, that it's really repetitive like not even the updates would make me feel like I should keep playing since the whole formula is just going to go out like this: Mastery level grinding, and Farming for parts or mods. Now I've played the game for about 500 hours which is dam impressive in my case which is why I'm not going to quit on it.

The grahpics are stunning even on the lowest settings (my opinion). Every gun is different and unique which brings me to the, I don't want to sell them, including the Warframes, It's so great to see massive amounts of enemies die by them. The clan system is good I'm just to lazy to go over it, ahh never mind, you can make get new weapons, 1v1 pvp, a speed test, you could decorate the dojo if you got the permission to, alot of neat stuff.

Conclave the 2nd only way to fight against another player in 2vs2 combat, heres a known tip just upgrade one weapon max (best stuff) if your on the low conclave matches (easy one hit kill on lol), since they try to balance it out by the rank of your mods, weapon, warframe, sentinel. If you have to much or to little you can't join, well it won't be unbalanced if your opponent is a strong frame, still fun I like I just don't do it since you can't grind or farm that way.

    3) Gameplay is smooth and easy, as is the matchmaking. Missions are fast paced, but everyone seems chilled and tolerant of newbie starters.
    4) But mainly its because its fun to play. Controls are solid, as is the gunplay. Melee is a bit frantic, but there is nothing wrong with it.
    5) Its free (ish). But I don't think they quite understood the idea of MICRO transactions. The store is very expensive which I think will harm the game in the long run. Its probably at least double what most people would expect. Although I would normally buy some initial credits to support the game writer, here its just to expensive to feel comfortable with.

Overall, I think this is a great game to grab the odd 30mins on here and there. Play for free, and I cant see how you could be disappointed!

Putting nearly 350 hours into this game has given me numerous thoughts about it as a whole.
    1. Game play, certainly the most important part of any game, and warframe has much of it and it is generally good fun all around, it could use a lot of polish but that is to be expected. 9/10

    2. Graphics, the game is pretty no doubt. 8/10
    3. Sound, Meh everything more or less gets the job done, though numerous times weapon sounds have been changed to absolutely terrible results, others (very few) are changed to sounding better then before. 7/10
    4. Polish, this is truly where warframe suffers the greatest, a complete lack of polish. Bugs are constantly getting fixed, but with each fix brings twice as many bugs needing to be fixed. Rarely do these bugs break the game at all but when a bug that makes the game hard to play does show up it is usually fixed quite quickly. 6/10
    5. Free-To-Play Elements, While yes everything that can be bought with real money can also be crafted in game, neither way is truly good, Real Money trading is ridiculously overpriced, 15-20 dollars for a gun? Really? And crafting results in depending upon a hilariously intentionally broken RNG system. Now to the dreaded 'alert system' while this function of the game is constantly being tweaked and changed it is still a terrible way to give us things. This game while not to the tune of Play-to-win, micro transactions, it is pay ALOT to not grind and sleep for a change. 6/10
    6. Developers, I dont have much good or bad to say about the developers but lets just say i believe Warframe would be better if another company handled it. 6/10

While this review may seem pitched towards the negative, i do enjoy the game a great deal and while grinding is a pain at least the game is actually fun to pay while grinding, which relieves much stress in playing it for hours to get something you need. Overall, try the game if your at all interested in it. Lets just hope Digital Extremes figures out how to run Warframe for the long run.

However, Warframe still has yet to polish its new player experience, which holds the game back. A proper intro and tutorial are needed badly for any future expansion of its playerbase. As of now, getting started is the most difficult part of Warframe.

Cons: Warframe is essentially a mix of shooter and hack and slash ninja melee combat that works quite well....up until you get to the harder levels and get matched up with braindead teammates against bulletsponging enemies. And that's where the main problem of this game (at least right now) is: The matchmaking is absolutely awful. You'll get thrown into running matches, sometimes right at the end of a mission or spawned in the middle of a huge enemy group, often unable to do anything before you get downed. Also,LAG. No dedicated servers. If the host of a match has bad connection, you will suffer from debilitating lag and teleporting enemies. And let me warn you of this right now: Soloplay is extremely hard and often simply impossible due to the spawns of enemies and damage they dish out. If you're downed and you have no teammates, you're instantly dead. You *can* revive yourself 4 times a day, but most missions are simply too hard to tackle solo right now. You *could* do the majority of missions stealthily, but again, the matchmaking strikes. Once you're teamed up with randoms, forget about stealth gameplay. They'll charge right into the enemy you're just creeping up on,raising alarm and ruining your chances of stealth for the rest of the mission.

Pros: The occasional match is *really* fun,and if you can find decent groups (basically,if you're lucky or have friends you can play with), this game can be an absolute blast. There's different ninja-esque moves that you can pull off like wallrunning, sliding and backflipping, and you can combine these different moves while not losing control over your character. This makes for some awesome moments as the moves feel really fluid and you can shoot while executing them. There's a lot of customization and rpg-elements, each weapon can be leveled and modded and each Warframe (Class) has different abilities and can also be modified. Lots of possibilities with different mod combinations on weapons, but there is a lot of luck and RnG involved. Some mods are really strong and boost your power a lot,but if you don't have luck and find one mod of that kind in a mission, you'll just never get it. Example: I've played with a mate for about 5 days and at one point he found a mod that boosts your shield capacity for 140% (after leveling it up once,he can level it up even further to get even more shield capacity). Shields are crucial for survival as they can be replenished quite quickly with another mod,and 140% shield capacity basically means he can take more than twice as much a pounding. This is a huge upgrade. In the 5 days we've played (about 45 hours) I haven't found this mod once,so I still am a lot more vulnerable than he is. Then again,I have a rifle that freezes, stuns and burns enemies at once and a frost-twohander that shatters and bursts foes into bits, and he didn't get as lucky with the elemental damage mods. The diceroll system is something to keep in mind, you might be craving for an awesome mod which you just wont find for days, and there currently is no other way to get or trade mods other than finding them during missions as enemy drops.

Customization+ F2P-modell: The selection of Warframes and weapons is decent right now. However, some weapons, warframes and all of the customization options are locked unless you're willing to pay...a LOT. The prices for the ingame currency are horrendous as they are right now. you won't get the majority of Classes and Weapons unless you pay at least 27€. for ONE class. or about 14€ for ONE weapon. A lot of cashmilking going on there,as most of these weapons are simply better than your standard loadout. You can unlock some weapons and even classes without paying, but it takes quite a while, especially the materials you need for the classes will take you weeks of grinding. You'll need to farm bosses for rare blueprints for classes and rare materials to craft those, and each of the three parts required to craft a Warframe ingame requires 3-4 different materials with 1-2 being rare. They then take 12hours and 15000credits (quite a lot) each to craft, and the warframe itself will take 3days and another 25.000 creds to complete. So you're looking at atleast a week of grinding *IF* you're extremely lucky with drops and spend your cash and time on nothing else, and another week of crafting that Warframe (class),which you will then need to level up from zero.

Summary: If you have a few people you can play with or your annoyance threshold for bad matchmaking and braindead teammates is high, I definetely recommend trying Warframe. However, unless you're willing to pay (a LOT), you won't be getting much diversity. Most missions are prolonged tuberuns, you'll always be following a set path with limited variation. If you enjoy games like Mass Effect,Quake or Ninja Gaiden, give this one a try.

Now I know a lot of the reviews say that it’s repetitive with the missions being the same again and again but it’s not, the missions share rooms but are randomly generated giving a different experience each time.
The graphics are very nice and work well with the style of the game; however it may cause trouble with the lower systems although optimizations are on the list to be changed.
There is a nice amount of customisation in the game between the different weapons you can use, primary, secondary and melee. These weapons can be personalized with mods that can be acquired as random drops throughout missions, giving the player a wide range of modifications available to them.
This game also has crafting which allows you to craft any weapon or warframe in the game as long as you have the correct blueprint which can be bought from the in-game shop or found as a rare reward. Yes, in-game shop. The shop allows the player to buy weapons, equipment, warframes and blueprints using in-game money OR ‘premium’ (Bought Cash). This game is powered by in-game transactions however it does not make it a Pay-To-Win game, as stated before you can craft anything in the game aside from visual add-ons.
Overall I think this game has potential and I enjoy playing it, solo and with friends. I give Warframe a rating of 8/10 as I think there are a few improvements that need to be done but on the whole a really good game.

and now for some pro vs cons

    -pro

this game has a nice "feel" in its playstyle, it reminds us alot of other games, like assasin's creed or prince of persia, sure the manoeuvres are hard to perform at times, but mastering them offers an advanteage on several maps, like shortcuts, a way out of a troop of enemies, secret loot stashes, the game also offers a wide variety of weapons, eventough as in every game there are the "favorites", they mostly require a bit of dedication to obtain, forcing players to master several other to unlock them, the crafting system might require some improvement, mainly concerning the high demand of some materials in several crafts (think rubedo for warframes), along with a considerable waiting time of 12h -3 days to finally get your item, although i understand it might bother some people, i personally favor this system, forcing people to be patient, slowing them down in order to take their time instead of directly unlocking every single item in the game.
as for the graphics, for a free to play game, they are pretty much excellent, eventough some more polishing couldn t hurt when it comes to the models, for that i ll have to compare them to shoot mania (not a free to play game, but with a similar kind of model when it comes to characters) for the background graphics, we are mainly confronted to 3 types of layouts, cavern, outside ice planet, and spaceship, all of them look great, however some diversity in the future is expected (fire planet, desert landscape, etc...)
on the side of the soundtrack, i am split, the gun sounds works well, altough maybe a tad loud by default, the ambiance music is fitting to give you the impression of an infiltration scenario, but considering the very hyperactive playstyle, constantly runing and jumping and crouching and sliding, something a bit more "adrenaline enducing" might be more appropriate. On the voice acting again, my opinion is split, on one side the lovely Lotus, who is constantly warning you of what is happening around, when you get spoted, warning you for incomming patrols or strong enemies, and also telling you about the Lore behind each boss during the Assasination missions, with a variety of different scripts so that we don t get bored by always hearing the same exact speech, on another hand, the enemie's voices need work, i understand they tried to go for the cryptic broken-coded-robotic voice, and eventough with time we manage to understand what the enemies are saying (and then again, some quotes remain pure gibberish), it is mostly annoying to have the feeling that a bunch of Predator ladies are having an eternal chat on the same frequency as your radio

    -cons

i believe that everyone shall agree that the cash shop's price in this game are pretty much insane, however, exept for some purely cosmetic choises (like color palettes or accessories to decorate your sentinel pets) you have no need for platinums, sure you might wish that you had them to directly buy that weapon or warframe you want, or to skip the crafting time of a certain item, but considering the fact that all the items are accessible ingame, using platinium to skip and get the "good stuff" directly kinda goes against the general idea, wich is that this game is about the journey, not the destination, what is the point of getting everything right away, what are you gonna do after having to fight to get what we want is the main motivation in the game.
having said that, there is ONE aspect on wich platinium can make a huge difference, and that aspect is your inventory space, the inventory at the start of the game is EXTREMELY limited, with only 2 Warframe slots, and 6 weapon slots, of course you can use the 50 platiniums that you get for free when you start the game to add some more slots, but even so, it does limit the players extremely, and it is an aspect upon wich the developers MUST look into for the good of this game's future.

So to sum it all up, this game is definitely worth taking a look into, mostly recommended for those who got patience, and is most definitely full of potential, if the developers continue on the path they have taken and keep on the current rythm of work, it could very quickly become a masterpiece... and all that for free.

It is a four-man squad, third person shooter with, surprisingly, an actually effective melee option and pseudo "magic" elements in the guise of science fiction technology. Parkour is also included.

It is also a free-to-play game, which means that its business model resides in reliance of players purchasing its local currency in exchange for real money.
The way purchase of currency is 'forced' is via cosmetic options and for additional slots to house the different weapons and characters available. Otherwise, everything else in the game is available for free.

Thus it becomes that should one be content in the two Warframe slots and four weapon slots available upon account creation, everything in the game can be obtained free of charge.
As such, the use of game currency is an option of investing money in order to advance faster rather than invest your time to gain the same for free.

It may become repetitive and it is grind-heavy.

It is still early in its development and the developers are very nice and fair, they also listen to the players and hold bi-weekly Q&A live-stream sessions.
They're slowly ramping up internal studio man-power to extend the development faster and further.

The game still suffers from some technical issues and the occasional crash, but all in all it has good fidelity and stunning visuals.

In the end, it is a very fun game and is only getting better as time pass by.
Given the developer's passion and the enthusiasm of its player base, it seems like the beginning of a beautiful thing.

But I do admit, although It is free to play you still can spend money on in game items It is too expensive to be reasonable, but this problem is not that big because, although it is sometimes really hard, you can just use in game money to get most of the items in the market.

And There is a large difficulty spike from when you play online which is a cake walk, to playing solo which Can be seemingly impossible. The game is meant to be played online, especially with friends, which makes it a lot more fun. It has a large variety of "classes" called warframes each with their own abilities that can help a lot for the odds of the fight. The character customization is fairly limited to colors especially if you are not willing to pay money to unlock more than the tiny variety of colors you start off with.

The levels can tend to be very repetitive, even though each planet has their own designs And that their is a random level generator, because the rooms it uses are fairly limited and you will come across the same room a lot of times. You can also have clans and build your own "dojo" (homebase) for that clan, with elevators, hallways, generators, research labs, barracks, etc.. Which I find to be a neat feature and found myself making my own clan just so that I could build my own dojo!

I have had a lot of fun with this game and still am, being free to play and in open beta i could recommend this game to anyone who likes third person shooters with parkour mechanics and a fair amount of action!

Online play: Negative side of the game.... Hosting a game even with a good connection will sometimes net laggy games for others and you might even encounter a problem to play with your friends at all and need many tricks to get around that.... needs fixing.
Content: It's not huge by any means...but there is enough diversity in it for a free game to give you a good few hours...FOR FREE.

    The Good:
    Graphics are outstanding
Content is not restricted in any form for free players
Decent array of mission types and settings
    Actually useful pets
Great customization of characters and weapons (attribute wise)

    The Bad:
Online play still buggy/laggy at times even if the host has a good connection
If you do decide to pay for it...be ready to pay a lot for not getting a whole lot in return
    Enemy variety rather limited
The randomly generated themed missions don't have enough tiles so repetition is apparent

I give this 8 out of 10 due to it's obvious shortcomings it still has but can be fixed and the fact that playing with friends can sometimes be a pain.

Warframe is a nice FPS MMO. It's not great, but it defineatly has alot of fun to offer.

Since it's a co-op FPS, the microtransactions doesn't really hurt the game. If it had been PVP, it would have been horrid though. Luckily that's not an issue, yet anyway. All in all it's a nice game that i've had plenty of hours of enjoyment from. It's free.. if you want to have a go at a co-op

The Platinum system (cash for fake cash) is over priced, but almost everything can be acquired through the game. Plus there is a log in reward system that give you the chance to pay for platinum from 25% off to 75%. The company needs to make money some how.
The game play is exciting... well for a game that's free to play. It's a third person shooter, with some element of parkour. It's not Assassin's creed and it had never tried to aspire to be. The style is unique in man factors, enough so to say; this game is not trying to be like any other type of game.
The Environment is repetitive, and unless they update it, no one will disagree.
My favorite thing about this game is... bare with me. the guys behind the scenes. I would hardly call them greedy, and how on earth can they be called fascist; that doesn't even make sense. They general check there forums and do as the people want, there that way. For example, there was an over powered weapon in the game "Kunia" that they wanted to Nerf, but all the gamers loved it so they kept it. this isn't the only situation that they've listened to the gamers. They care about the gamers more then I can say for any other game.
They've been composing many updates to the game to improve it like the main campaign. which is why it is still considered a Beta. They're even trying to make the environment more diverse. this game, still enthralling, will be even better and better
I think it would be fair for you to try it before deciding, "hmmm... do love this game, dislike it, maybe even loathe it, or maybe it just bores me." It is a free game, so give it a shot. please don't loath to do this.

I recommend joining the game every day. You get a reward for it. The ideal is to dial a 75% sale on the purchase of a premium currency exchange and 1000 and get 12 euro. Which parts at a price of 10 and the most expensive 375 characters is a good price. In addition, you will support the creator.

The style of fighting is then up to you. Would you like guns? Take shotguns, machine guns. Would you like a cool yet firearm? Bow, crossbow. It also can be found. Dozens of different weapons to ensure that you find your own style. Each part, from the characters to "guardian", has the opportunity to improve through mods (you can get it in fights) and leveling up each other.

The game itself may get bored after a while. Many of the battlefield are much alike. But a quick fight, interesting characters, and weapons will certainly make up for it. Creators recently added a kind of campaign, where you can get wings for flight in space or their own protector on the road of death. For myself, I highly recommend.

It is a really interesting game but not perfect. It's like mixing Vanquish movement concepts with Mirrors Edge and adding it to a sci fi shooter. It's freaking fast and fun to play but becasue of that movement speed sometimes it is difficult to play it ina more serious way. It is still a great game becasue of it mechanics.

The great thing is that if you chose to abandon mission you will still get the items you picked up. You can spend money to get the stuff you want quicker i'm not going to judge that. But when you can be like some amazing gamers and earn them it makes it all worth more. At the beginning of the game I can understand why you would spend money to get what you want but later when special events happen. Which can get you to buy the most expensive person after you do a few of the missions and wait. When you put in the time on a video game you will have the greatest items, gear, mods, e.t.c all being in Warframe Now please notice that Warframe is still in BETA so it's not perfect but still fun. The last thing I will say is that the game will be most fun when you play with friends you can communicate with while playing. I used to solo the game got bored within a few days then stopped for a long time then friends came in I started playing again some new stuff pretty great stuff and I didn't get bored. I wouldn't mind seeing a story added to the game to compile more hours onto my log, but the game has still kept me playing with it for a couple months. The only other gripe I have is the maps tend to get repetitive after going through the same templates multiple times in a row, but at the same time it keeps on dragging me back as it does change every time you click a mission. Through all of the cons, Digital Extremes truly has crafted a wonderful, co-op based game that keeps you coming back after each update. Expand

However, it's kind of difficult to become really strong because of it's highcost micro-economy. Without some platinum, you harshly can get new weapons and/or characters, as well as a lot of customization. So in that way, it gets limited.

    Cons
    - VERY repetitive maps. I don't find the actual gameplay to be repetitive at all, in fact the gameplay get's funner every time i play it, but the maps sure as heck are repetitive. dozens and dozens of different missions and i've only noticed about 5 unique maps.(keep in mind i haven't unlocked all planets but my statement still stands).

    - No real story. When i first started playing it started off with a cool quest to hunt down someone who tried to capture you, and it seemed like this would lead into a really cool and interesting story. Unfortunately after you complete this quest, any remnants of a story disappears, and the game just becomes nothing more than hunting for loot to build more gear and doing the occasional event.

This game is amazing and has amazing potential. If a proper and immerse story and allot more unique maps are added. This will without a doubt be my favorite game of all time.

I've put around 200 hours into this game, and around $40, so keep that in mind when you read this review.

I'm really digging "Warfarm" er... "Grindframe" I mean Warframe. You have to be a really patient person for this game to be fun. I'll list some pros and cons: Pros: -A metric f**kton of weapons to choose from. Some, of course, are better than others, and some can barely be used.

I'm really digging "Warfarm" er... "Grindframe" I mean Warframe. You have to be a really patient person for this game to be fun. I'll list some pros and cons:

    Pros:
-A metric f**kton of weapons to choose from. Some, of course, are better than others, and some can barely be used. However, devs are VERY diligent and constantly trying to fix balancing issues.
-Lots of build/customization options. Eventually you find a warframe or two you really like and you stick with them.
-Lots of satisfaction. When you finally build that frame or weapon you've farmed hours for, you can't wait to dig in.
-Beautiful art direction/hella cool and original setting.
-Sick graphics. A few graphical glitches here and there and a few players some of the models look a bit ugly (cough Trinity cough cough), but that's just like, your opinion, man.
-Great character design; you don't see much of the story characters aside from the occasional cutscene and HUD display, but the voice acting is top-notch and really gets you immersed.
-Fantastic player base, old players are always there to help newbies and give tips and tricks. And the squad camaraderie is strong in this game; I've seen people go across entire maps in 15 seconds to revive someone, just 'cause they feel like being nice.
-Best of all, the developers are constantly on-point. I've never seen a dev team in a game so dedicated. There's updates every month at least, and it's not just a bugfix or something small, it's f**king huge, typically a whole new frame, some sort of new gameplay mechanic (syndicate factions being the most recent) and 2-3 new weapons and maps.

    Now for the bad stuff:

-Some minor glitches. Nothing really game-breaking, but you'll occasionally get stuck somewhere and it's annoying, or you won't switch weapons and it's annoying, or an ability won't work right. But these are pretty rare, the game itself feels very fluid and polished.
-A few tilesets are really awful. For example, there's an infested tileset that takes place in a crashed ship, so it's at a slant. While this looks cool af, it's a pain on your eyes and it's hard to navigate at times.
-Grind, grind, grind. The whole game is a grind. The purpose of Warframe is literally to play the same levels over and over until you get better gear, then playing harder levels over and over. Fortunately, there is some tileset variation to make this a bit easier, and sometimes it's just therapeutic to slice through legions of enemies, but it can still get boring sometimes.
-Enemies have really bad AI. They're just not smart. Which is OK because you're supposed to kill them en masse, but at the same time it detracts from the experience a bit.
-Not many enemy types. It can get dull seeing the same Grineer marine over and over and over. The devs are working on adding new enemies however--many enemies are currently placeholders for unique models.
-Some frames and weapons are better than others, and you'll see them a lot more. Seems like people are using Rhino and/or Boltor Prime in every damn mission. TBH this is almost a plus, because I like being a speshul snowflake and using weapons and frames nobody likes.
-In-game currency prices are ridiculous. Seriously. But this game is not buy-to-win, it's buy-to-not-grind. Most Platinum is spent on cosmetic options that don't add to gameplay. The one drawback I have is that for a frame or weapon to be most effective, you have to install an Orokin catalyst or reactor, which are extremely difficult to get without spending platinum. I think that's pretty lame.

Overall, I'm giving it an 8/10. Needs work and a bit more polish and level variation, but honestly it's the most enjoyable free game I've played on the Steam market. Definitely worth the download. You'll have a lot of fun, and it's still (somewhat) early access, having only been out for ~a year and a half.

"Repetitive" is a common complaint for Warframe, and there is truth to it. Thankfully it has a wonderful combation of flash and attitude that keeps me coming back, not to mention regular content updates.

Warframe has what I consider to be the best free-to-play economy in the gaming industry, one that doesn't leave you in the dust if you're unwilling to shell out hundreds of $$$.

It's free to play with paying acting as a luxury for immediate satisfaction (Rush the building of a project) or for cosmetics (Purdy). The downside is the limited amount of slots. Purchasing slots may drive you off but the in game currency is freely traded for items in game. All in all the game is addictive with elements of a mobile game (Get parts, build, wait til completion) and a triple AAA action shooter (Parkour down the hall, spin slice the head off of five baddies, slide while firing into the crotch of moar baddies). With hundreds of guns, pistols, swords, and more the game offers a lot. This isn't even including the vast selection of Warframes themselves. The alien-esque tech wielded by you the player is gained in game via farming bosses, quests and events, no cash needed (unless again you want immediate satisfaction in which case prepare to buy yourself out of a game!). The vast selection of different frames promises a style for any player.

    I give this game a 8 out of 10.

The bad sides are that the quests can be mind blowing in their wait time. The anticipation of proceeding with the quest is stopped abruptly by the need to wait for a part to finish being crafted (12 hours wut).

The second bad is that the game can tire you out if you binge on it. You can only run certain missions 100 times before wanting to take a break! RNGESUS is real y'all. Praise the L00t!

    The Good?

Great graphics, this game is beautiful and can run on even the most dated system (within reason).

Fun story with lots of mystery unfolding through each update.

Modifications to truly make some beastly weapons, a reason to go out and gather resources, everything you do is very purposeful.

Style... this game has it. In Loads.

So check out Warframe it's the most fun you can have grinding.

in game currency is kinda pricey(it's not really pricey however getting a hold of steam credits may not be that easy to get a hold of if your playing in washington state or colorado) if you live near a mall it's okay
grind wall for some items(prime items, primed mods, prime gear sometimes are behind grind walls) for me this is what really needs fixing as newbies can be turned off when they run into this wall after getting into the game and realizing someitems cant be had whatever you do is an issue with newbies to this game 8 out of 10 could have been 9 if the grind wall issue was fixed at launch or update~xoxo

Warframe gets by on style alone. Keep that in mind when you fight a boss or clear a mission 20 times in a row to get that one weapon part that won't show it's face. Any other game would pull the aforementioned grind off horribly. It takes a team like the one at Digital Extremes, the developers of Unreal Tournament, to make this work. Warframe is one of the only games where you can front flip forward and land on your sword lodged in a space nazi and pump his buddies full of shotgun shells that explode. The combat is fast fluid and fun. The graphics are marvelous even on the lowest settings possible, and it's free to play. The words Free To Play usually has a stigma behind it, as it usually can mean, "Pay-To-Win". Warframe is more along the lines of "Pay-To-Win-Faster", as nearly everything in the game can be acquired without spending real money. Sure, you can buy one of the best guns in the game, but then you still have to level it up, fit it with the appropriate mods, level up the mods, and learn how to use it to the best of your ability.

So in conclusion, This game barely get by with an 8, only because it has had enough content and fun and style to keep me on it for nearly 1000 hours now.

It's a rare thing to see a game mature like Warframe. And all these years the game have remained a free-to-play game. When it all began it were a 'simple corridor shooter' and now in 2017 it's still a corridor shooter - but a deeply satisfying and polished upgrade of what emerged with the launch of Playstation 4. Actually, it's more than that. Warframe got a tremendous amount of content in form of deep lore, astounding relations between developers and fanbase, with user generated content which is managed in a great way, a vast blend of objectives, quests, frames (essentially characters), an enormously satisfying grinding, looting and farming for stuff. And its in game economy is unheard of - yes, you'll find micro transactions - but it's literally the opposite path of actual trading and relic farming that's the beauty of it. The game is free and all high-end gear can be farmed with great satisfaction or traded between players in a working, mature ingame-economy.
So, why aren't everyone playing Warframe? I believe that when most picked it up, that is Year 1, the game still remained in a simple alpha-state, and now - get this - it's in beta and on par with AAA-titles. The only current flaw is that the entity of the game in its current state is so deep and overwhelming for new players that it can be hard to just get in there and wing it. Fortunately Warframe got one of the most supportive players ever, eager to explain stuff to newcomers. I picked up the game last year and, with a short break for Destiny 2, actually kept on playing - and I still learn things from it. If you're intrigued by this, I highly recommend to go on Youtube and watch one of the many introduction-videos. And while you're doing that, I also recommend that you start downloading it, and that you start playing it because it's a hidden gem in plain sight. Free-to-play. Hard to stop playing it.
Development is constantly evolving. And fast. The latest addition is the open-world Plains of Eidolon, which is available very early in the game, and it's huge. This is very appealing to some, former Destiny players mainly, but the action in the game as a whole will surely take you by surprise once you start trying it out for yourself. Simple corridor running or not.

Reviews should be rewritten by the press. Your actions have consequences.

Plot – Warframe follows an ongoing narrative of the development of an evolved generation of humanity: the Tenno. The initial quest doesn’t actually inform you of any backstory, leaving the origin behind the Warframes and Tenno a mystery. It’s not until the quest “The Second Dream” we actually begin to discover the mechanics behind the Warframes and where the Tenno came from. It begins by introducing one of the main antagonists in the game: Hunhow. He appears to be talking to an army of Sentients (whom are native to the Void – an alternative universe which is set in the past during a time known as the Orokin Era), whom are plotting the annihilation of the Tenno in a highly intriguing avalanche of events.
Controls – Featuring customisable controls, Warframe consists of a very easy to learn combat system – also including many different combos you can choose to modify your weapons with. Although it can be difficult to newbies, grasping an idea of how to craft, initiate missions and how to effectively modify weapons can be easily developed – and if you have too much trouble modifying, there is an ‘Automatic’ option that will create the most efficient build it can for your Warframe; however in my experience, I have never found this helpful as different Warframes will require different kinds of mods and polarities to fully optimise their power, stealth and defence.
About – As of 06/10/2017, there are 34 diverse and unique Warframes to choose from – 18 of those having a prime counterpart whom is superior, featuring more polarised spots for greater modification and increased stats; as well as a pretty pimped out look.
The game has outstanding voice actors and active developers, constantly making bug fixes and doing giveaways on YouTube – as well as constantly updating the game and keeping the users updated. However, nicknamed as “Bugframe” by the users, Warframe can often have small bugs – sometimes ruining a mission, but most of the time they can be harmless or just plain annoying; but taking into consideration the fact that these bugs are quickly resolved and that this is indeed an early access game, these bugs can easily be overlooked when comparing them to the gameplay.

In my experience, the main pros and cons include:
    PROS:
    • Highly customisable pets and warframes.
    • Great detail and graphics.
    • Amazing story line: If you’re into Lore, everything fits together well.
    • Great voice actors.
    • Many different tasks and challenges to do when you’ve got nothing else to do.
    • 100+ different modifications.
    • Easy to learn controls and combos.
    • Diverse warframes: there’s something for everybody, may it be stealth or chaos.
    • Create clans or join one for help and advice, these clans generally have great communities.
    • Active mods and bots to answer your questions.
    • Runs smoothly.
    • Frequently updated.
    • Not Pay-To-Win.

    CONS:
    • Viable to crashes and bugs: not often but can happen.
    • Missions are repetitive.
    • A lot of grinding.
    • A lot of bugs.
    • Bugs.
    • Constant grinding.

1- The PVP are ok, but i didin´t understand why they thought that was a good ideia remove all the rifles and pistols from this playlist.
2- Almost no one plays the PVP gamemodes, so it´s really hard to find a queue and got a populated room, It´s really commom stuck in a empty lobby.
3- The story could have more weapons and skins to pay with the game coin.

But at all it´s a really fun and addictive game.

    Big negatives for me was:
    - Bad story-missions that was not balanced correctly where you die way to much as the player and some Story-missions (which you bought with the in-game resources) have ridiculous timers where your mission can fail at all.

    - NPC's can kill you under 1 second although you are invisible!(Loki Prime with Hushed Invisibility mod)

    - Hunting/Catching animals in Orb Vallis or in Plains of Eidolon is a complete disappointment because you are getting 90% of your time disturbed by enemy NPC's.

    Big positives:
    - A free 2 play game.
    - Opening relicts to sell Platinum or to get your Prime things to build.
    - A big choice of weapons to build and many mods to equipt.
    - Free content

I could continue to list many positives and negatives, which would still be a mixed rating from me.

Some frames are very easy to obtain, while others are very difficult to obtain and have spent more than a week. But if you have enough money, you can buy this effort for money. This game does not do judo. That doesn't mean that it's bad if you do it. The qualities in this game are very reasonable. It is reasonable enough to assume that I converted the effort, time, and energy I spend to get something. What you get for 10 hours of hard work can be obtained with just 100 platinum. Isn't it very cool? This game doesn't just have its advantages. The downside of this game is that it requires a lot of time and effort. Even if you want to get Warframe and you have all the parts, you have to spend 12 hours making each part. And it takes you 3 days to put the parts together to make a frame. This time passes quickly in real time, but it is a ridiculously long time in gamer's time. That doesn't mean you have to wait. You can get it right away if you give it a reasonable price of platinum for this time. In conclusion, this game is the most complete game you can make if you make a game with capitalist ideas. If you make an effort, you can get the corresponding goods, and through them you can earn goods according to market principles. This is the most important part of the idea of capitalism. That's why I like this game. However, it often takes too much effort to complain of tiredness. So I give this game 8

Some people take one look and immediately say that it is very pay to win because of this time system, however they are going about it wrong entirely from the get go, how it is meant to work is you get in a rotation of always making an item so that you are always getting things; you are usually meant to be worrying about things you get the next day, as you can play and hour or two a day and have no problems. And some people don't have that time, which is why platinum exists; and many players and the devs themselves advise in earning gear instead of buying it as it feels much more rewarding. I have sank over 700 hours of playtime on this game and the game still offers me a lot of things to do. In this review I’ll be breaking down the pros and cons of the game.

    ======================================================================
    PROS
1.) THE GAMEPLAY : EASY TO LEARN, HARD TO MASTER.

The missions in this game have simple objectives like killing enemies and defending objectives, which anyone with a couple of hours can get a grasp on. But the difficulty will ramps up as you progress. So after playing for a while, you will discover movements option like bullet-jumping, aim gliding, and sliding. Which can be used to create strategies. There will also be upgrades that you will encounter like Mods, Companion, Buff, and Arcane. So the system gets pretty complicated and thus hard to master.

2.) THE STORY : COMPLEX AND EVOLVING.

Most of the story of WARFRAME is not given directly to the player via the main quest. But rather hidden details scattered across the game. The main quest only tells you what the gist of the story is about but if you want to truly understand the WARFRAME universe, you have to make theories and connection on your own. And there is no right or wrong theory because the story is still going after 9 years since the game launches.

3.) THE GRAPHICS : BEAUTIFUL WITH GOOD PERFORMANCE.

The visuals in this game is just phenomenal, not just because it is beautiful but also how the developer really pay attention to details. My favorite place in this game is Fortuna, a small Corpus colony located on the cold surface of Venus. The place is full of futuristic lights and robot which directly represents the Corpus faction as a whole. The best part of the graphics is that it only requires a mid-end GPU to run.
I am currently using a 1050 TI for my graphics card and I can easily play on the highest settings with smooth 60 frames per second.

4.) THE COMMUNITY : KIND AND WHOLESOME

This game by far has the most kind and welcoming community I have ever witness. Most of the interaction I have with other players are really good. To prove my point, you could literally go into the game and ask any question inside the regional chat and I guarantee you that someone will answer you within 20 seconds. Toxicity in this game is very uncommon, In my time of playing I’ve only met 2 or 3 toxic player.

5.) THE MONETIZATION : REALLY FREE TO PLAY.
With every free to play game, comes microtransaction. This is no exception to WARFRAME. However premium currency in this game can be earned by simply trading items with other player. For me I have earned over 20$ worth of platinum by just flipping in-game items. So no one is really at a disadvantage in this game in my opinion.

    ======================================================================
    CONS
1.) FEATURE CREEP : TOO MANY THINGS TO DO

The updates to this game usually adds more content to the game, which is not necessary a bad thing. But after a while these content piles up to the point that there are just so much to do. These new content sometimes completely make old feature obsolete but the developer doesn’t realize this and kept adding new things without clearing the pile.

    2.) GRINDY : REPETITIVE MISSIONS

The gameplay of this game can be repetitive after sometimes which makes the game boring. Lately, the developer also likes to lock new content behind a “grind wall” which basically means that in order to get to experience these new contents, you would have to spend lots of time doing the same thing. This can be a big no no for most casual player.

    ======================================================================
    CONCLUSION
If you like action RPG game with huge amounts of content and don’t mind the steep learning curve, you should give this game a try. But If you don’t want to grind and spend time learning different concept of the game then you should look for another game. Overall, a solid 8/10.

Granted without the ability to trade items with other players makes it a little harder to obtain some items, it does allow for a more satisfying feeling when you finally find the item that you've been wanting for awhile.

The game does feature an ingame store but I have yet to find a reason to actually use it. Most if not all of the items available in the store can be found in the game world, and seeing as the majority of content is PVE there really aren't too many things that could be considered overpowered.

Overall, Warframe is a well balanced third person shooter with tons of customization and replay value. Expand

Like MANY F2P, they shine for the first couple of hours or so. After that, you realize that nothing in the game is expectional, mediocre at the max. Though despite some bad things, it can be enjoyable from randomly generated maps that sadly are limited to same textures and cutting one thing there to here.

Tl;dr One of the better F2P games with a less oppressive freemium model and fun gameplay, issues range from personal gripes to consistent game design issues that have dogged the game throughout the years.

I've played Warframe on and off since late 2013 so I've experienced the several stages of the game throughout the years. What Warframe does the best is giving you a long grind/collection based game where progress is measurable and you can map out how you want to play. The gunplay is fun, you can have the choice between methodical sniper, in-your-face shotgun action, or anything in between. You can play warframes that nuke entire rooms or simply play team support. The movement is by far one of the most different and fun aspect, which will start with you sprinting everywhere like normal until you eventually turn into a tumbling acrobat that barely touches the floor. The designs of each faction are very distinct and the art style is very...different from most games, sometimes clunky and other times cool. Over time, many mechanics and storylines have been fleshed out and the game is much more polished than it once was.

In the neutral zone, I would put the micro-transactions. There are strong for/against arguments but my opinion is that Warframe's model works fine for the game that it is. It's entirely possible to receive the premium currency by playing the game normally, and not any small insignificant amount like other freemium games, so that is one big advantage. However, you might feel strongly against the real time based crafting and other things that can only be bought with premium currency.

Going into the negatives, I would say that one of the positive things (new content) is also driving one of the biggest downsides: Tons of legacy content. Without the help of more experienced players and dedicated websites, navigating the almost unexplained areas of "where to get what" can be frustrating at times, to the point where opening the codex may as well link you to the community Wiki. There are so many weapons, warframes, and mods that are just relegated to the "useless or mediocre" category. Some old content is unobtainable without paying premium for it, which is a big advantage to long-term players, but may leave a bad-taste for those newer players. If you get to Archwing mode, you'll wonder how a good idea could have been so awfully executed. If you hate playing the same levels dozens of times attempting to farm specific items, by god just don't even look in this direction.

That said, I think Warframe is an interesting game worth checking out, and the game has been slowly getting better over time. If you have a strong dislike of micro-transactions, despise freemium game economies, or dislike repetitive grinding, then I wouldn't recommend it.

This game has one of the best variety of content even in comparison to some other games (some that aren't even F2Ps). Well, what do i exactly mean by that?

What i liked about the game.

    - Large selection of 'Warframes' to choose from. 'Warframes' are exoskeleton suits that grants the user four different skills to choose from. Each Warframe has it's own unique abilities. However, don't let that fool you, as for the fact that the skill mechanics might seem a little similar. Skills are of course extremely satisfying to play around with.

-Unique & distinctive weapons options. With a huge arsenal at your disposal, the weapons in this game will definitely provide an endless amount of fun.

    - The Movement mechanic in Warframe is also very special and distinctive. Any player is able to perform acrobatic feats, traveling from room to room in mere seconds.

What i didn't like about the game.

    - Unfortunately, the developers of Warframe seem to have pricy microtransaction schemes in mind. Though some people might not agree that this is a "Pay To Win" title, an undeniable fact is that Warframe indirectly forces the player to purchase credits (or otherwise known as 'Platinum) in order to have a much enjoyable experience. Based on the fact that a player starts off with 2 Warframe Slots (Out of a total of 24 Warframes?) and a couple of weapon slots.

    - Ridiculous weapon customization options. Weapons and Warframes in the game are enhanced in many different ways with the use of modification "cards", these cards take up "points" and the game only allows up to 60 points to be expendable on a single Warframe/Weapon. (Well, it'll be 30 if you don't have at least 20 Platinum)

    - Missions in Warframes are reptitive and downright distasteful. It's either going around killing everyone in the house, saving a hostage or defending a stationary artifact.

All in all, Warframe is a decent game worth spending a little money with it's fast-paced action and as a great co-op game.

    Rating: 7/10, "ok".

Nice game. Very fun gameplay, but there are not enough level differences. In that aspect it gets a bit boring sometimes.
The game gets regular updates and is still being improved.

I think its worth a try. And the best of all, its free to play.

3.5/5 • My feelings about Warframe are decidedly ambivalent. On the one hand it can be a lot of fun, on the other it can be a soul-crushing grindfest. How you react to this will depend entirely on how much you can tolerate the endless mission replays needed in order to get the relics/drops you require in order to build that next weapon or frame. And what for? Just so you can rinse and repeat. But as I’ve already said; it can be a lot of fun, at least for the first few hundred hours. I loved it for 350 hours, but now I find myself increasingly disinclined to play it, although I expect I’ll dip my toe in from time to time.

But what about the game itself? Well, in general I’m not a huge fan of the F2P model (there are one or two notable exceptions). Usually the developers struggle to make it work. But Warframe is probably as good an example of this type of game as you’re likely to find these days. In many respects DE have got it right. It is possible to play completely for free, although I would encourage players to buy some Platinum (I have) as DE deserves to make a buck or two for all their hard work. Playing for free can put you at a slight disadvantage, but only when playing with players who’ve bought higher level weapons and frames. Success lies more in the mods you have available, and how you use them, than in anything else. Personally, I’ve only used my Platinum to buy additional inventory slots, as a large part of Warframe is the farming for, and building of new gear. And here’s where the grind comes in. It goes on and on and on, and, as I’ve said, it can be both tedious and frustrating. Warframe is also the most complicated game I’ve ever played, mainly, I suspect due to its having been developed and modified over such a long period. Be prepared to spend a lot of time trying to fathom out what the hell you’re supposed to do. And then there’s the gameplay itself: this is where Warframe scores most highly. The movement and combat mechanics are excellent. Every weapon (and there are so many of them) has a unique feel. Lots of them are just levelling up fodder but they’re all fun to use. The same applies to the frames, of which there are approximately 60 (at time of writing). Of course there are keepers in amongst the chaff and these weapons and frames bring the most enjoyment. The parkour-style movement is well implemented and very satisfying once you get the hang of it. The mission types are limited but the main story line does offer some relief from the routine and is deeper and more fleshed-out than the stories found in many AAA paid-for games. The community is good for the most part: a “git gud” attitude does exist to some extent but it’s not prevalent. All in all Warframe is an impressive achievement: It’s a well-designed game with lots of content and it offers a good deal of enjoyment. It’s just a shame that it’s marred by the dispiriting grind. Recommended with the above qualifications. I thank you!

The premise is this game is very interesting, you are an assassin that can wear different suits known as "Warframes". These are essentially the different characters that you can play through the game. The gameplay is PvE which resembles Mass Effect 3 multiplayer with Crysis style suits and Diablo style loot drops. Weapons and Warframes in this game can be bought with cash, in game currency, or built. Most weapons and Warframes can be made simply by farming the necessary resources. The progression of the game starts out quite slow as the grind to acquire materials and blueprints get quite tedious.

Warframe has severe balancing issues regarding the warframes themselves. Some warframes lack utility, while others are overpowered. Weapons also suffer from this same fate. Warframe introduces Mods to weapons, similar to perks in Call of Duty. Mods are also affected by a balance issue.

Bugs are quite apparent in gameplay and level design, which is to be expected from an open beta game. Warframe still has a lot of kinks which need to be ironed out before it can be a worthy title.

This game is supported through the purchase of platinum with can be used to purchase warframes and weapons. 75 platinum costs $5 USD, which cannot even cover costly warframes at 325 platinum. A warframe like Rhino for example would cost a ridiculous $20 USD! Platinum prices are too high, and are not competitive enough. I for one will not dump my money into something which rewards with so little value.

Overall the PvE is not compelling enough and lacks incentive to progress further into the game. Warframes are a hit and miss with some being fun, while others are utterly boring. Warframe does have potential, but expect a long road ahead.

I was really sick of seeing these polarized reviews of 10's or 0's because apparently giving a review is too difficult for some and would rather voice their bias to an extreme.

The graphics is one of the biggest pulling/attraction for Warframe and for good reason! Considering it was a F2P game as well, the graphics were on the high end. However, this can also be a con because not everyone has a great GFX. However, the graphics are only as good as what they put it on. Which goes to one of the biggest flaws of Warframe which is the lack of variety.

The game play of Warframe is fun for a while. You get a sword, four abilities, a gun and it is smooth for the most part. There are a few bugs, and there is a lack of sword combat (only a couple of moves). Until you get a new warframe "class", you'll be stuck with the same 4 abilities which does get boring. BUT, You get to parkour and be a ninja acrobat in space. It reminds me a lot of GunZ with all the free range of moving. Eventually you'll be using the exact same movements to get around and it'll just start feeling like a chore.

Warframe lacks in story and plot. It doesn't set in stone the lore through game play, it doesn't seem to reinforce much with the missions they do have, and it isn't very enthralling. You don't feel as epic as you should, and it creates this disinterest in the missions you're doing, which is already worse with their lack of variety(explained in the next paragraph). It is a weak plot which creates a lack of game missions to base off.

Warframe lacks in variety of maps and enemies. There are 3 types of enemies (Corpus/Robots, Infested/Aliens, and Grineer/Armored Aliens/Humanoids) and they only have about 5~ of each throughout the game. You see the exact same enemies throughout the game, with the same tactics but just stronger as you progress. The maps of the 3 types change a little which got me immersed in the first place. You get to see the 3 different environment types in the first couple of planets/missions. However, they didn't create anything more different in the later planets. They mix and match a little, however you'll start feeling you're seeing the exact same environment and it gets really repetitive of going through the same map over and over with just stronger/different enemies. There are 10 mission modes. The game types are very lack luster, you can go check the wiki or just play it. Either way, once you play the game modes once they're essentially always the EXACT SAME just on a different map (of the ones you played on already) with the other 2 enemy types. It get's repetitive and tedious. However, it's still a time sink like that and for me, I was able to play through multiple planets/lots of hours before I actually did get bored of it. On the other hand, there was a lack of strategy in the missions and they rarely changed within their missions, it was always the same kind of mission with no variety within itself.

One thing I was really excited for in this "Co-Op" game was the Boss fights. I loved games with boss fights like WoW Raids, BL2, etc. However, in Warframe, the Boss fights were EXTREMELY lackluster. You could practically just shoot and run in circles, and it would die. No strategy, hell you wouldn't even need to use your abilities.

Moving on to Warframe's customization. It is a long grind to get the "better" weapons and Warframes. I understand that from a F2P perspective, it was a "good" way, however the dev's did feel like kicking F2P on acquiring Warframes. You need to farm a boss for multiple pieces(hoping it'll drop) and have all the materials to create a warframe. However, the Devs I felt did a good job on the weapon aspect. The higher end better weapons of the game require actually farming/making the item, like the Flux Rifle which you CANNOT purchase. However, they are lacking in the variety of guns/weapons and they aren't totally different from each other. Some are just plain worse than others, which I would hope the devs will fix/improve later on.

I really enjoy their mod system, which you collect mods from random drops that can improve/change your weapons to make them better versus the enemies you encounter. It gives a lot of leeway to customization and the "best" mods require luck/grind which you CANNOT purchase. I think the unavailability of trading in Warframe is a good and bad, but I understand why it was not implemented. It would make grinding/farming for mods, materials, blueprints a lot less appealing and would get people to just buy them off each other which I would believe, ruin the game create a drop of play. However, you'll eventually realize what is the "best" mods agreed upon later on, but who cares (it goes for most games).

The game still does need polish, but it's a decent F2P but not worth spending

The level up system takes a while 20 odd hrs playing many levels over and over. Maybe I am not great at the game. I think they need to make the Warframes interact with the AI better too like in Ninja gaiden where you can jump on them. making melee attacks have more flow. I do like the graphics, I do like the gun customization. They should have tutorials or recommendations about how to level up Warframe, rifle, pistol, melee weapon.

Im not sure on the reward system but maybe Warframes should unlock instead of having to buy platinum play a level of each war frame ???

Also the menu for weapons should be suited to class, Why have a lvl 4 weapon when im level 2?

    gave it a 7

2/10 for sound effects that lady says the same thing over and over.
4/10 for level layout. have to do levels over and over.
0/10 game lobby (where is the game lobby)
2/10 for tutorial maybe tutorial till you reach level 2 as in make level up easier until players know each element of the game

This game could be one of the best games but has a few things they need to improve on. Thus i havent yet invested into platinum as the short comings make me want to play other games

Shooting fairs much better and it's satisfying to pick off your enemies from afar using the game's large arsenal, whether it be an automatic rifle or a good old fashioned bow. This leads me to my next problem with the game. I know that Digital Extremes has put in considerable effort into making newer environments for the game, however, it still isn't enough. Long range encounters are a rarity and it completely eliminates the need for you to ever touch the sniper rifle. Levels often take place in ships and tight corridors, which is still fun, but when overused in the way that warframe does, after a few sessions the game starts to feel like a grind, and you really get tired of the visuals, which is a shame considering Warframe has beautiful graphics, but it is marred by the repetitive art style and level design. Having said this, it still isn't enough to keep me from playing this game as it offers a great upgrade system of mods for weapons and warframe, as well and satisfying and responsive gunplay, you'll have no regrets jumping into this game, especially since the game is free and the devs are already starting to address the problems I have listed. One requires you to scan fragments that can take hours to find and you can't do it during normal gameplay, but have to go out of your way to search for them. It's much worse than any "collect 1000 orc penises" in WoW or other games.
In the other quest you need to break into three areas, which requires knowledge about the game (that you do not have at this point), skill and patience. If you fail one, you have to start over.

You can't avoid these quests. They block your progress at a very early stage and I'm asking myself how the same people who made the awesome rest of the game came up with this crap. Shoutout to the players who helped me with this. Otherwise I would have quit right there.

Then there's the support which is very lacking. I somehow lost platinum, the game's currency, and contacted support about it. They gave me the usual crap about how they're going to investigate etc, but never got back to me. It turns out I accidentaly spent it without noticing, because the user interface is pretty much designed to lure you into that.

Often, the game selects the player with the worst internet connection as host, making it unplayable. Why they don't have some kind of connection test is beyond me, but it's another aspect that is very poor.

I have played this game for maybe two years, then distanced myself, then came back because of a friend who wanted to play together (and then didn't even show up, the *****!) and now am off again.
The good: it's an incredibly varied cooperative multiplayer with solid and fun mechanics. You can pick between a ridiculous number of different warframes, the titular power armors, each one with four different powers. While in Destiny you have three boring classes with very little to differentiate them from one another, in Warframe the designer's fantasy runs rampant and the powers are daringly different, creating extremely varied mechanics. Same goes for the hundreds of available weapons. So you grind and grind and don't get bored because you try something different every time, aided by the effort by Digital Extremes to constantly add new content, new material, new challenges.
It's not pay to win: while investing at least a bit of money is advisable to purchase equipment slots, you just need to wait for a 75% discount, that is randomly distributed maybe once a month or so, and invest little more than 20$ to be set for the rest of the game. You can also sell equipment to other players if you really don't want to invest real money, but I have nothing against supporting the developers for their good work, and I also use platinum (the purchasable currency) to reduce grinding in some instances. You can also buy warframes and weapons for outrageous prices, but it's much better to do the related missions and earn them instead; not only they cost a premium, but you also miss the fun: what are you playing for? All in all, a totally fair earning model, IMO.
The bad: most missions are mindless, old-school shootouts, where you confront thousands of enemies who keep spawning all around you. Forget about taking cover or tactically conquer an area piece by piece: you jump and zip left and right at light speed, shooting everything that moves - and everything that doesn't, just to be on the safe side. If you stay still for one second, you're probably dead, and tactics only lie in the way you use your powers and combine them with your allies'. There are inventive warframes, with tactical powers that would be great to use in a game like Deus Ex, but are essentially useless in this mindless frag fest. There are infiltration missions that aim to implement a different approach, but most people hate them - for a reason.
There's so much material, so many different things to do, that you can be hooked for months or even years without getting bored, especially if you try to discover things on your own rather than just read the Wiki, but the gameplay always remains simplistic and repetitive.

Play Warframe. Play it for more than a few hours, preferably with friends, and keep an open mind into doing some third-party research to straighten out some of these systems. Warframe takes so much of what makes ARPG’s addictive, and rounds it out with more polish and depth than most its competitors on the current games market. If the hooks aren’t deeply embedded by then, maybe something this in-depth isn’t for you.
