Personally, the only downside that occasionally gives me issues is the present peer-to-peer hosting system, which can get laggy if you've had a bad host. Beyond that, it's a free game that has no where to go but up and is climbing its way there with all the passion the devoted development team can muster. Expand

    Can be bit repetitive but the amount of weapons, frames and gear makes it all interesting. The Archwing is brilliant addon to the game, makes the fun of the game doubled.

    Warframe is:
    10/10 for a free to play game.
    8/10 for a normal release game in beta phase.
    Overall 9/10.

    Warframe is Space Ninjas at their best, with action packed maneuovers, wall running and climbing, melee and ranged combat, special skills, character customisation to some level, lots of grind-like based PvE fun, and content that keeps adding more and more to the game.

    With dynamic events and operations that allow all players to change the outcome of entire planets and sections, a variety of 11 mission types and something like 7+ different tileset/maps that are also fixed somewhat to a random-map method, along with visuals and polishes being constantly made, Warframe is by far the BEST PvE free to play game out there, let alone the best Space Ninja game as it is pretty much the only space ninja game made.

    This is how Free to Play games should be made.

    The funny thing with this is, that although it has a grinding character, and a somewhat repeating nature to the things you do, it so much damn fun that you completely lose hours on end building characters and weapons and hacking and slashing your way through piles and piles of enemies.

    Still in beta phase, I foresee the end result being a 9 out of 10 when compared normal release AAA titles, if not perhaps even 10/10 (depends on how much more they add, they truly are constantly expanding the game more and more), bumping up my overall score of 9/10 to 9.5 or 10/10.

    Amazing. A must play game for 3rd person action shooter fans that love sci-fi and ninja themes. Don't take my word for it, try it out yourself. It is completely free!

    The reason I did not give it a full scrore is because it has bugs, not during gameplay, but while you are inside your ship, they rly piss me off from time to time.

The leveling system recently underwent a massive change, which made the game more challenging. It also opened up a much wider spectrum of upgrade possibilities than was available previously. The game still has some small room for improvement, but it is a heck of a lot of fun to play--and it's FREE!! Strongly recommended. Expand

    This game is simply great. The problem with the score from the critics, is that they rated this game when it first came out as open beta, not the completed game. Even at this date, the game is till in beta, but is leaps and bounds better then 6 months ago. Give it a try, all it will cost you is a few moments of your time, not money, it is Free to Play.

The Most of in-game items can be built with blueprint and material which randomly dropped from defeated enemies, and it's fun to gather those stuff across the universe.

A lot of the fun of the game is learning new acrobatic tricks to try out, but they can be challenging. Fortunately, if you just want to run around, you can still do that.

    You get different warframes which have cool abilities, which you can level up and mix and match (although each frame has 4 unique abilities to set them apart from one another.) Weapons also level and have equipable mods, which allow you to tailor them a bit for different missions.

    There are several different missions styles, from assassinatino, rescuing a hostage and defense missisons (and several more). Most missions you run around epic industrial complexes or giant space ships.

    Pros: Team combat. Challenging, but slow learning curve so it's not hard to get started. Fast paced combat. I have a lot of fun playing this game. It's very stylish. The artwork is quite impressive and you can customize the appearance of your equipment to look really cool.

    Cons: I played the beta, so the UI is buggy and not all that intuitive, but you get used to it. There is still a fairly major problem of randomly falling through the floor, which happens about once every 30 games or so. I sincerely think that they will fix both of these problems by the final release.

    Warframe hits a very appealing concept. Space Ninjas, running on walls and sliding and slashing away at Aliens, zombie-like creatures, and robots. A concept no doubt many of us have though of as children, visualized in a very cool, and ambitious way. But how does the game itself fair? Well, it depends on the point of view honestly. Space Ninjas, running on walls and sliding and slashing away at Aliens, zombie-like creatures, and robots. A concept no doubt many of us have though of as children, visualized in a very cool, and ambitious way. But how does the game itself fair? Well, it depends on the point of view honestly. I came into the game knowing very little about it and so my expectations weren't set high by any means. But what I got, was a visual treat with some fast but smooth gameplay.

    Graphics: This folks, is what the next generation looks like. Everything from insane lighting, amazing particle effects, and fantastic textures. The game is truly awesome to look at. Which is a good thing because one of the faults the game bears is reputation in environments. The game boasts a Random Level Generator to ensure gameplay is varied, but it is not uncommon to see the same room in the same mission, over, and over again. While most of the scenery consists of tight corridors and semi-large rooms, it can become a little redundant after just a few hours of playing.

    Gameplay: The gameplay is extremely fluent and easy to use. Whether you are going down sights with a sniper, blasting away with one of the many assault riffles, silently picking off foes at a distance using the tactical bow, or getting nitty and gritty with the crowd as you slash, hack, or smash with one of the dozen or more melee weapons. It all happens without missing a beat and with very, very minimal lag. At the core of every great third person action game has to be solid controls, and this game nails it. Making even more complicated maneuvers, such as running on a wall, flipping off of it, spinning in the air and slamming down onto the ground possible with just a few presses of a button, making it a welcoming experience for newcomers.

    Story: The game has very little to offer in the ways of a story as where the main goal of the game is to team up with 3 or less friends and take on "Space Dungeons" killing everything in your way as you ransack the ship for loot and money. In fact most of the story is told in the Tutorial. Does this make the game bad? Not at all, just as long as you don't go into the game expecting an epic single-player story.

    Free to Play: The game is, by definition, free to play. Nearly every feature in the game is available to the player without the use of microtransactions. As long as you don't mind spending Hours upon Hours of grinding to get the parts you need to build your new toys. That being said, if you do choose to use real money to push your way up to the front and buy a new Warframe (playable character) or weapon, or countless other items, just know that the in-game store is one of the most expensive out there. For example, buying a new Warframe can run you anywhere from $10-$25 depending on the chosen Warframe and whether or not it has any sales. But remember, that is merely an option. It is possible to unlock EVERY Warframe without the use of real cash.

    Overall: I personally enjoy playing this game, I have spend well over 70+ hours on it, and don't plan on quitting any time soon. In my opinion this game sets a new standard for Free to Play games, showing what can be done and should be done. With the amazing graphics, silky smooth gameplay, and kickass action. With only a few minor gripes being an expensive in-game store that doesn't Need to be used, and the repetition of layouts and levels. But do keep in mind this game is still technically in Beta. So considering all it gives with very little draw back, it would be really hard to pass this game up for any reason. So that is why I rated this game a solid 9.0. Warframe has amazing gameplay and is a lot of fun to play with your friends since it is co-op based but if played by yourself, it doesn't have the same feeling but is still fun to play. Warframe is definitely one of the best free to play games in my opinion and wont disappoint you, if you want to try it out.

The gameplay is solid, graphics and sound are current, tons of features being added all the time, weekly patches and updates; The game is solid now and worth spending a few on, once it is out of 'beta' a few months from now I see easily spending a standard $60 retail on this game. The game is free to play, and to unlock some of the better content requires a time investment but the game is fun as is and the 'grind' does not really feel like one, especially if you join with some friends or join a clan. The game is only currently lacking in story/lore content but this is becoming a primary focus and we should see a lot from that side soon, in the next few updates. I would recommend this game to anyone that is a fan of FPS (shooter) PVE/RPG games. Counter strike PVP focus gamers need not apply. Expand

It's video preview looks unbelievable overwhelming. Initially, I thought, "nah... most game presentation video will always look good, but when comes to real gameplay, it will suck." Warframe proves me wrong.

    So, since it is free, why not give it a shot after hesitating for 2 weeks. Within a month Steam clocked me playing Warframe for more than 100 hours.

    This game has potential to be one of the greatest game. Love its graphic design. Fluid video (maybe due to my new system performance). Easily adaptable controls. And last but not least, friendly community. I give it a 9 since it is still beta which come in a few bugs, and not so intuitive chat system design.

    Is it a buggy mess? Overall, no. It seems like the game has it's share of glitches some of which are very irritating. The only two I have encountered are when you disconnect the mission map crashes and you have to restart the game. Also, recently I have been unable to claim any of the weapons that I have crafted which has essentially stopped me from moving forward in the game.

    Is it pay to win? No. Spending money on the game mainly saves you time. To be clear, spending money will give you an advantage in the short term, but will generally not make up for a lack of experience and a lack of suitable mods for the things you have bought. Do not expect to pay 60 dollars to unlock all the content in a game. Especially so because the items in the shop are quite expensive in terms of real money. Even in a 60 dollar game not all content is instantly unlocked in game, you have to play to unlock most of it. Furthermore, if you decide to spend money on the game, know that it is money well spent as there are large monthly content updates.

    TL;DR If you enjoy polished PVE grindfests this is a great game for you.

Its fast-paced co-op combat and huge + easy horizontal progression with abundant equipment drops is exactly what I needed after years of slow MMORPG raids, months of farming with zero to none rewards shared between 10-40 people, exhausting PvP combat. So - pros:

    nice graphics combined with somewhat low hardware requirements;

    very fun co-op combat;

    a lot of different game modes, different types of enemies, different difficulty modes;

    interesting and easy progression scheme, nearly endless;

    abundant loot drops + a lot of easily accessible equipment (don't have to farm it for months);

    cheap in-game currency (for $25 you can buy almost every interesting prime frame);

    interesting setting and storyline;

    decent economy scheme without any traces of inflation;

    very nice auto-grouping scheme combined with healthy population result in minimal waiting time for group runs;

    PvP is available and its balanced.

    Cons:

    to progress you have to play "characters" (frames) and equipment you don't like - for many weeks till MR12;

    character isn't a human thus cannot be customized beyond armor colors (i.e. no faces) so there will be no emotional link;

    warframe (character) type is strictly linked to visual appearance;

    not enough introductory quests for existing content;

    lack of marketplace, strange direct player trading scheme (though it works nonetheless);

    game is somewhat buggy.

    the game is also updated constantly which renews my interest in it all the time, they are good updates too each update can span from one new weapon to a new game mode warframe and loads of other stuff with it which is a completionist's worst nightmare.

    while they arnt very imaginative with the levels meaning they use the same ones over and over it just doesn't seem to bother me in the slightest, because the levels are HUGE and different routes are used each time and who cares about maps when your have stupidly fun war frames at your disposal.

    the biggest problem i have with this game is the bosses, they are incredibly boring they are just reused skins or normal enemy made into bullet sponges very similar to borderlands (there are some exceptions to this and they are pretty cool but the majority complies with what i just said).

    the enemas are also quite boring at low levels and are just cannon fodder but as you get to tougher levels tactics are needed to beat them because they can easily over whelm or use an ability on you

    over all the game is a bunch of fun, its just casual, laid back and just a nice time killer, i love it

    2. I dropped this game twice before I figured out how much depth was actually in it. Initial enemies do get repetitive, but they ramp up and get nasty fast. There's clan and player created housing (dojos) where you (and your clan) can research new toys. Secret areas and ways to crank up the difficulty on older missions.
    3. The area's are gorgeous, if a little repetitive, but procedurally generated games will generally be that way until you go to voxels. And those just can't have this level of detail.
    4. There's new content rolling out here all the time!
    5. Community seems pretty good, not too many trolls so far.
    6. Great googly-moogly this thing needs a better tutorial for all the depth in this game,
    Give it a chance, see if it takes.

    The only reason I don't give this a perfect score is because even on my high end gaming PC I experience lag and occassional connection problems. You could compare this to Left 4 Dead 2 since it's a co-op game; both survival and mission based. Except Warframe has a unique futuristic kick. You're basically a ninja/marine combo, and what I like about this game the most is that a lot of the guns that you could pay to get right away is still usable; but you actually need to work for it, which makes it much more satisfying in my personal opinion. This also goes for the new Warframes (characters who are also known as Tenno) and the interface is easy to figure out. Customization isn't too in depth and of course the best way to make your Warframe look awesome is by spending a little cash for skins and accessories....the company still needs to make money. But most of what I've seen is basically free and the community is always willing to help you with questions. I've never met any **** yet which is also a plus. And it is true that the game is repetitious but it isn't literally the same mission like the "professional" critics say. The game redesigns some of the levels to make it feel different each time; and they've added survival modes and planet infections that allow you to gain a huge amount of money. It's progressing very well and worth a shot indeed. Expand

    First of all, Im not a fan of MMOs grinding and typical slow lock-on spell-on-cooldown gameplay. But Warframe is quite different and unique: the core gameplay is very dynamic fast paced action combining 3rd person shooter, melee fighting and magic-like abilities everything is realtime, fast, and requires some skill from a player. You go on various missions in up to 4 player teams to combat hordes of enemies that can rise in numbers and levels quickly providing you as much challenge as you can take.
    The movement in this game is also great: you can do many trick jumps, run on wals and almost fly around if you know what you are doing. There is even stealth which is fun and useful if you want to play solo.
    Now the addictive part is of course acquiring new weapons, classes (warframes) and rare mods that augument weapons and warframes. And believe me, there are so many things to get and to level up, some are hidden quite deep. There is quite a lot of grinding, but the process itself fun because the challenge escalates fast.
    The game is honest free2play and you can unlock everything but if you want to keep everything you will have to buy inventory slots with platinum (which is bought for real money or traded for rare mods between players, so you don't really need to spend a dime if you are willing to grind).
    The downside: it doesn't have a huge overworld that you can walk around and explore, like most other MMOs, just individual missions. Some things are still being polished and improved. Needs more variety in environments and missions.
    The game is mostly PvE focused, there is PvP but its still in ongoing development.
    Overall its a great game for everyone who loves action. intense horde combat and mmoarpg levelling and farming for loot.

You may also arm yourself with bows, a crossbow, flamethrowers, lasers, throwing knives, and various other weapons. You also can craft or purchase additional Warframes, which function like classes with their own balance of stats and powers. The game could be improved with social locations such as hub worlds or trading posts, but it manages without just fine. Monetization is the game's most prominent issue, as cash shop currency can be used to buy items instead of crafting them, as well as speeding up the crafting process itself. Warframe can be simply put as awesome. Though it has its flaws, it is still a game that I found to be worth my time playing it. When I first discovered warframe, it was on update 8. I didn't think much of it at the time because it looked like a simple brawler. I began playing a lot in update 9 and got hooked. I didn't think much of it at the time because it looked like a simple brawler. I began playing a lot in update 9 and got hooked. People have been criticizing this game for being Pay to Win (PtW), but in reality that is far from the truth. What you don't see in these other reviews is patience. They would rather spend a bunch of money to get all of the content immediately, leaving all of their experience in repeating missions. The people that do this don't just sit down and enjoy all the aspects. they just want the good stuff fast. The game has a market where you can either but weapons and warframes using either platinum (Currency purchased with real money), or credits (money earned in game). Using credits, the player buys the blueprint of the specific item that they want. After purchasing the blueprint, the player then goes to the forge in the main menu to craft that item using credits and resources found in missions. After acquiring all the necessary resources for the blue print, the player then hits the craft button and waits for the item to finish. The amount of time it takes to craft an item varies by what the item is. All weapons typically take 12-24 hours to craft. If you don't want to wait that long, you can rush the process using platinum. I kinda like this system because it gives me an excuse to take a break after playing for a few hours.

    Warframes are basically suits that have different abilities for every unique warframe. The embers fire based attacks are devastating to light weight targets. Loki hides in the shadows to take out his enemies without being noticed. Necros raises the dead. There are a lot more warframes. In order to get these you have to kill certain in-game bosses to acquire parts of the warframes. Each warframe has three parts (helmet, chassis, and systems). Once you have acquired the pieces (I forgot to mention that the parts drop as blueprints), you craft them in the forge. Each piece takes 12 hours, but don't worry you can craft them all separately and at the same time. once all of the pieces are crafted, you then buy the warframe blueprint off the market and craft it in the forge. Every warframe takes 3 days to craft. Now this is where some people have an issue. Many don't want to wait that long. that's where people start to go onto the market and buy everything with platinum. If you want to do that then go ahead, but don't give this game a bad review because you're impatient.

    Prime weapons and warframes are more powerful, harder to get versions of their normal counterparts. The blueprints are found in the orokin void (accessed by keys that are found in defense missions as rewards). People that are new to the game don't know about it. So when they see things like the founders pack (no longer available), and prime access, they automatically jump to PtW. All prime warframes and weapons can be found with a lot of effort in the void.

    Im not saying the developers haven't made mistakes in the development of this game. there are a lot of things that are not explained. First off there is the use of the forge. When I first started the game gave me a very small tutorial on how to use it and I was left confused. I don't know if it has changed since update 8, but im willing to bet they have made some improvements. or I could be wrong about that one. Another thing they don't explain much is the lore. I have been playing for almost 8 months and all I know is the grineer are taking over the solar system and only the tenno (you) can stop them. then there is the greedy courpus (forgot spelling) and the infested. They are trying to change this with the new codex system they just implemented.
    Once final criticism is the recycling of missions. The missions are never the exact same. the game has a set amount of rooms it can work with. Its hard to explain but here we go. basically when you walk into a room there is a 99% percent chance you have been in that room before. That happens because the game generates missions with the same rooms, just in a different order. So you recognize everything, but its still not the same. For example. In a corpus mission you enter a hanger, you walk all the way through and enter a huge hallway. replay the mission! You may find that hanger and hallway again, but they wont be right next to each other again. In fact, one may not be in the mission at all or there may be a few rooms in between those two rooms. So one can argue that it is repetitive in nature but then again its not exactly the same every time.

    There are plenty of enemies to fight and with the new damage system, there are plenty of ways to build your character to kill the enemies. There are a lot of weapons and warframes to chooses from so you wont get board, unless you buy all of them. I've exhausted my typing space...

This game is NOT Pay-To-Win, as most items in the game can be acquired easily with a small amount of time spent. The game encourages you to level up your gear and experiment with each kind, as this will give you Experience if you do, and halt your experience if you do not. Surprisingly, this is actually a good thing and actually enhances your experience. I have nothing against Multiplayer games, but....
    This game's community, it saddens me.
    Upon entering online mode you'll be greeting by about 300 people with differing opinions on how YOU should play. The thing is, just go with your instincts, they will not help you.
    Playing actual missions in-game while online can either be fun or annoying,as occasionally you will be paired with an entire team with highly upgraded gear, that kills every enemy in sight before you can even catch up to them.
    The crafting system is one of the only ones I've seen that doesn't anger me, and is easy to use and gather materials. (Also, as I've said, this game is NOOOT Pay-To-Win.)
    It's good, there's a ton of moves and acrobatics you can perform. (Unless you're on multiplayer, where you will never use them.)
    Over all, it's a great combat game, and one you should try out.

It is also a very replayable game, especially with friends. Highly recommended for space ninja zombie enthusiasts. Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The kind of progress that Warframe proposes for a grinding game have really good points. First, you will find/buy/craft items that gain experience with you to a cap. Once these objects are maxed (And it doesn't take too long), you are incited to try a new one (Since the object doesn't grant you any XP) or reset the object's skill to zero, but the object become a little better in the process (but still lost his level). This process have a advantage that I value greatly : If you plays for some time and you want to introduce a friend to the game or you plays more or less than a friend and you don't want to wait for each other, you can, without running one or the other : if your friend is weaker, you can use lower rank items to keep the challenge at a nice level and still earn rewards without penalty. The gameplay stays mostly the same but once you get bored of a weapon, the game-flow gives you the opportuniy to change, as the normal course of play.

    About the paid features, in my opinion, you can get a lot for your money (especially if you wait for an in-game discount). I think that items like warframes and weapons (that can be obtained without real money) costs a lot. But many cosmetics, very useful consumables (Like formas,catalysts and reactors) are really at a reasonable price.

    The updates are coming at an incredible rate. The game art style is, in my opinion, beautiful and original.
    Another really nice feature is Clans (Guilds) which can have Dojos (A buildable and customisable HQ for your clan). The price of dojo's items (like rooms and item researches) scale with the clan's size. It means a group of 4 active players can create it's own dojo and make it as nice as a large 100's occasionally-active members clan.

    The only real problem I can think of is the ressources. When you start the game, it takes a painful moment before you can gather enough materials to craft your first 'not starter' weapon (or warframe). They remade the new player tutorial to give them at least a choice in starter weapons, which is nice. But later on, I fell that some ressources drop far more than what you need of them and others are on so precise locations that you are actually doing the mission only for the hope to find these mats, which may be the most annoying form of grind since you don't have a choice about how you want to spend your time to obtain it. Some ressources offers a level of choice, but other don't.

There is limited amount of weapons and suits but it takes so long to earn them it does make it a little bit of a tedious grind. The variation in suits and weapons makes it worth the effort in spending the time getting that extra weapon.

    Pros:
    -Menus, your ship is the menu, it is gorgeous

    -Community of people who (statistically) welcome, encourage, and teach
    -Gorgeous graphics (when everything is cranked to max)

    -Mowing down waves of enemies that aren't too bright is pretty relaxing and fun
    -New Warframes (at lvl 30) really bring about different ways of playing

    Cons
    -RNG, the "endgame" gear is all about grinding out challenging (but repetitive) missions for the low % chance of the items you actually need appearing
    -Certain aspects just aren't finished (Archwing, its melee/gun Star Fox, but gorgeous) which can leave certain modes/areas feeling shallow
    -PC controls for wall running/jumping rather clunky for a "Space Ninja Simulator"
    -Stealth, its not a working system in the game, its rather frustrating and slow to try and only stealth through a level, the current system isn't built for it

    Is it the best overall game you've played? No.
    Is it fun to relax after work and mow down hordes with your friends? Yes.

    First off it looks and runs great/smooth. I was very pleased when I started this game up and I still am. The art direction/style is beautiful. I really dig the universe this team has created. The level design is good, there are a lot of recycled rooms but i think thats due to the rather large levels. The maps texturing does not match the quality of the characters. Again I think its just the large maps and I am not saying that the terrain or any locations they have produced is bad.
    There is A TON of content. The amount of missions, Warframes, weapons, and customization of said weapons/warframes is terrific. Color pallets are among the few things you can not unlock from in game blueprints and you only start with a small pallet. Anything you can not unlock can be purchased with "platinum," which is in game currency which you can purchase with your real money. You can unlock blueprints for warframes, weapons, items, companions, etc. They do take a long while to build which can bypassed by purchasing them if you just have to have it.
    Looking at all the aspects of the game, I really enjoy this. I have a long list of games in my steam library that I have not even touched because of this game, new releases too. The dev team has some really great Ideas, they stream a few times every week showing off new features etc. The only thing that doesnt really stand out is the games music/score. I am not sure if there is a constant score or just ambiance and is not something that has bothered me either. Just thought i would throw that out there.

    Its definitely something worth trying. Its free, its co-op, its ninjas, and most importantly fun.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Warframe is a co-op third person shooter, with 'pretty' simple objectives and quite repetitive levels.
    But, this is a free to play game that is still being worked on, and I personally find it very addictive, having reached the 500 hour mark on steam, and thus excluding the non-steam version.
    In short, this game is about you, a super awesome space-ninja, and you have to kill all the enemies in the galaxy, and this was the entire game 2 years ago, but now there are way more thing to do, like jettpack space-battle and clans to join.
    And yes, this game is easier when you pay for weapons and new warframes, this game is really awesome free of charge.
    an absolute recommendation.

    Not deep, but light, fun, and fast. Improved by leaps and bounds from it's early days, and still getting better.

    Stunningly beautiful graphics (making excellent use of physics-based rendering). Best of all, a free-to-play system that's genuinely not pay-to-win, and doesn't need 20-hour grinds for each new weapon or frame. Solid pickup PvE, strong clan features for those who want them.

    The game is somewhat repetitive, the grind is real. But you can't stop grinding because you always want the best equipment to defy the game.
    The best community so far, and the dev team is so present that we know the personality of each one.

    Can't say much more, you need to get in the game am play some hours to see.

    I can all agree with them. But the game as a whole has continously improved.

    Improvements (Pro):

    1) Clans, Relais (trading/ interaction with other players)
    2) improved AI
    3) individual moves for all kinds of weapons, overall new stamina/ damage/ skill system
    4) quests which grant you access to new frames, weapons equipment and least but not least A STORY.
    5) almost no necessity to spend real money since almost everything, beside accesoires and decoration,
    can be obtain from farming/ trading
    6) areas like the Void (unique drops) can now be accessed without spending money for keys (5)

    Points of criticism (Con):
    1) still a pain in the arse to farm some rare ressources
    2) minor bugs
    3) repetitive map design on some tilesets
    4) it takes a lot of time to craft some wepons or other equipment
    5) the game isn't very self explaining and thus very confusing for new players
    6) some ressources can only be obtained by checking "alerts" which grant you the cance to farm your
    desired stuff... so check the alert section all the time
    7) to get more weapon/ warframe-slots you HAVE to spend money (i think 3 slots for frames, primary,
    secondary, melee)

    Conclusion:
    So in the end i would say Warframe is a very good game afterall. Of course there are a lot of points to criticize, but it's F2P. If you have any problems ingame you will always get help from other players (personal experience). Allthough Warframe is a very simple game it is still fun to play (solo or coop), because you have a variety of playstyles to choose from and a now very solid storyline to follow.

    - The movement system.. it's. just. gorgeous. Never seen that in any game and after getting used to it I missed it in many other games like titanfall (which already has a pretty solid movement system)
    - Even if you don't have much time, you can accomplish something since a mission shouldn't take more than 20 minutes (once you get a feel for the movement system, most missions won't take longer than 5, max 10 minutes)
    - Very fair free to play game, nearly every item is obtainable without spending a dime.. even cosmetics (tennogen items not included, those are community made and the creator gets a cut of the revenue DE makes off of them)
    - content for several hundred of hours, easily
    - hundreds of weapons, every one of them with different stats and sounds. Some shoot bullets, others grenades, others are flamethrowers, others are blades with integrated shotguns... with new weapons arriving every few months
    - currently 34 Warframes (a new one already in the oven), not including the primed version
    - primed versions of weapons, warframes, landing craft, mods (slightly better versions of the original versions, mainly for endgame)
    - you can have kubrows (dogs), kavats (cats) and sentinel (flying robot things) that support you in the battle with damage and/or utility; careful! Kubrows and kavats can die if you don't look after it.
    - customization of basically everything is a huge part of the game (colors of warframes, weapons, companion, landing craft, placing objects into your landing craft, etc etc) #fashionframe
    - many different mission types (mobile defense, extermination, spy, interception, hijack, etc)
    - time based events (alerts, sorties, special events like acolytes or plaque star which are available for a couple of days/weeks before they are gone)
    - modding system gives a possibly huge amount of customization on how you want to play a certain weapon (Fire rate, elemtal damage, crit damage, multishot, raw damage, reload speed and many more)
    - 99% of the community. the game is mainly pve so the community is generally really nice and helpful.. ofc you will face a dick every now and then but that's very rare
    - The Developers. Digital Extremes does an amazing job at being transparent about changes and listening to the community (Devstream roughly every 2 weeks). Although they have to decree some stuff every now and then it's generally a good balance and the community is well integrated into the balance process

    The maybe Good, maybe Bad:
    - one of the grindiest games I've personally ever played (I love it but I'm certain many won't)
    - you need to build weapons/warframes in order to use them from blueprints (weapons take usually 24 hours, warframes 72 hours, not counting the part building time which takes 12 hours). Personally I don't find it as bad because there are tons of things to do in warframe and you can always have some stuff waiting in your foundry ready to be claimed but especially in the beginning it's very annoying ("Woooh! Got my first warframe and all the parts! can't wait for that 72 hours waiting time so I can check it out")

    The Bad:
    - it takes a lot more time than usual to get the hang of the game (many different systems that are not explained well.. or at all)
    - wiki of warframe is pretty important if you want to progress. It's a so called wiki game that only really takes off once you use the wiki to gather information the game doesn't offer
    - the starter cosmetic loadout is.. bad.. there are only like 10-20 colors you can pick from, though the cool colors like black, white, pure red etc are locked behind platinum. So unless you have a buddy that may gift it to you, you are stuck with the small amount of colors until you learn how to trade or pay money
    - repetitive gameplay. While I mentioned that warframe has many different gamemodes, usually it looks very similar in most of them.. you either kill as much as you can (exterminate, interception, defense) or you rush to the objective/target and rush to the exit, ignoring all of the enemies (spy, rescue, capture)
    - untouched systems. Warframe has so many systems that some of them aren't really thought through and could see a revisit. Archwing comes to mind but also stuff like Rivens (possibly very powerful mods with random stats) or focus (not going into this because spoiler.. but once there you will know what I mean)
    - invulnerable bosses. The developers seem to love bosses that have invulnerable phases. Even if that means that a boss is 95% of the time invulnerable (hello vay hek). I can see that if everyone is basically an op space ninja they have to do sth to make the bosses somewhat tough.. but that's not the way I would like them to be.. make them tanky af or w/e but invulnerable with tiny spots where you can actually hurt them is definition of tedious gameplay

    100 characters.. gosh I would have mentioned a lot more but I can't :c

    Tl;dr: It's great. Get it!

It's a game I'd recommend to anyone who enjoys lore-based games and games that require long periods of concentrated effort. Every update adds new content to enjoy, as well as endless farming hours. It is up to you to decide whether this is a good thing or not. Personally, I think it's fantastic.

    The graphics are stunning, the music is diverse and unique. The lore is also very rich, and most of the characters are very interesting to me. You'll meet a diverse cast of characters and learn about the game's various factions in an adaptive manner, so your interest will grow as you learn more rather than being over-explained at the outset.

    The game has a massive community, and you can find players who are more than willing to walk you through the game's complicated mechanics. Whether you play with friends or complete strangers, the game will be just as enjoyable. I'd even say that this is one of the best co-op experiences I've ever had. The only complaint I have about the game is that it is extremely difficult to get into as a new player; you'll need to do a lot of research and consult the wiki to understand most of it. Of course, the community is always willing to assist, whether in-game, on YouTube, or on Reddit; this game's community is extremely welcoming.

    The game also features a wide range of mechanics. Maybe you'd like to go fishing? You most certainly can. Hunting? Sure do. Want to pilot a spaceship? It's here. Perhaps you'd like to go skateboarding? Yes, you can, as strange as it may seem. It even has mecha.

    One of the most complex and interesting gameplay mechanics I've ever seen is the modding system. It's simple to use but difficult to master, there is a steep learning curve, but once you've modded a weapon to its full potential for the fifth or sixth time, you'll begin to understand the logic behind it.
    You'll spend over a hundred hours playing the game and only scratch the surface of what it has to offer, and players will still be learning and discovering new things about the game.

    The story is a true work of art, one of the most impressive I've ever seen in a video game. It contains so many moral dilemmas and is so complex, realistic, and interesting that it would be impossible to adequately convey it's essence in a typical review. This game has some of the most extensive and enjoyable customization options I've ever seen; you can have skin and change the color of almost everything. Everything can be customized to your preferences and tastes.

    And now for the best part: this game is completely free. Yes, you heard me correctly, so make no excuses and give it a shot. There's a chance this is THE game you've been looking for.

    I started playing warframe back in 2014, took a 2 1/2 year break before oming back to it (the PoE update brought me back). The game has changed significantly, the mechanics that bugged me in the past were pretty much gone i.e. stamina, clunky movements, etc.

    [/b] FOUNDRY (item building) [/b]
    So Warframe has a mobile game style item build system that makes you wait for the item to be complete (It gives you the option of "rushing" the build so it is done instantly, The "Rush" is done with Platinum).

    There are 2 main currencies in Warframe, Credits and Platinum.

    [/b] CREDITS [/b]
    Credits are obtained through killing enemies, finishing missions etc. and act as the basic currency for many of the in-game actions.

    [/b] PLATINUM [/b]
    Platinum is obtainable by micro-transactions, (and it is not worth it in my opinion). However, you can earn platinum easily through trading.
    The are “Prime” parts/blueprints that drop from relics which are awarded to you in certain missions, an easy way to “farm” platinum would be to play a bunch of missions with good relic drops, play fissure missions to open the relics, go to trade chat or a relay and tell everyone what you are selling for how much platinum (Do your research on the market for prices or ask a veteran in chat)
    Note: It is easier to sell items if they are in a set i.e.
    Soma Prime Set would include:
    -Soma Prime Barrel
    -Soma Prime Receiver
    -Soma Prime Stock
    -Soma Prime Blueprint
    (when on the trade chat you can type: “WTS [Soma Prime] set 200p”) (as of Oct 2017, they may change formatting)
    Through this method I have earned an approx. 2500 platinum by selling sets.

    Also, avoid buying normal frames/ weapons with platinum (especially If they have a prime variant, Check online about how to get its blueprints/parts, the wiki is a great place to do so. As for Prime variants, they are mostly cheaper to buy than their normal ones with plat (some *vaulted ones are going for crazy high prices so avoid those) viz. Nekros is 375 plat on the market and he is a pain to farm, you need to fight lephantis over and over again in the orokin derelict assassinate mission, so that’s 2 layers of farming + RNG. As of 13 Oct 2017 Ive seen Nekros PRIME on sale in the trade chat for only 100- 105 plat.
    *Vaulted = Removed from the relic drop table, so they are no longer accessible through normal farming

    [/b] PAY TO WIN? [/b]
    No, all items are accessible without spending a single cent, some items can be acquired with a little farming, whilst others take a **** long time. Warframe is an excellent game for those of you who love grinding/farming missions.

    The only things behind paywalls are cosmetics, if you consider FashionFrame (cosmetic customisation without gameplay impacts) the endgame, then Warframe is Pay2Win obviously.

    With the exception of conclave, which is a small part of the game, everything is PVE, all of you are working towards a common goal, so any advantage would be on your side.

    The main issue (a minority of new players I’ve talked to mentioned this) is that some players have weapons/frames so effective that the rest of the team doesn’t get to do anything while he kills everything on the map [/strike] (I’m looking at you post-rework Limbo >:( ) [/strike]
    This is something that happens sometimes, you can avoid that by playing solo or with friends, if you have no friends like me, join an active clan, find squad mates of similar equipment level as you and go ham, farm that frame you want.

    [/b] PRIME ACCESS [/b]
    I have purchased prime access before, its worth it if you want to experience the game’s new content without having to farm for them. If you have disposable income and you spend most of your days working without much time to play, prime access would be good for you.
    The additional Plat that comes with it is a bonus in my eye, pamper your warframe with the latest syandana and armor sets.

    [/b] MODDING [/b]
    I have barely gotten all of the rarer mods desired by many players, so I can’t really speak in full confidence about this, but with the limited mods I have right now, every weapon has millions of possible effects and outputs depending on what you put onto it.
    This is the part of warframe I enjoy the most (Aside from fishing in the plains).

    [/b] CINEMATIC STORY-DRIVEN MISSIONS [/b]
    Warframe is a fast paced space-ninja-shoot-everything-that-moves game for most of its playtime, but there are good “cinematic quests” in Mid-Game, (The Second Dream and The War Within)which are pretty good, I’ll stop here to I don’t spoil anything.

    [/b] Bonus stuff: [/b]

    - There are cats and doggos in the game - You can spearfish - There’s Fishing in the game - You can catch fish [/b] Final rating: Excalibur Prime/10 [/b] p.s. counter opinions, corrections and memes are greatly appreciated.

    Warframe does offer Micro transactions and has a premium currency called plat but unlike other games they are not exploitative when compared to the loot boxes of AAA developers. If you see something you want you can get that item no random chance involved. But at no point does this game make you feel like you have to buy anything with your real world money. You can even sell some in game items for plat to get those items that do cost it.
    Warframe receives free updates that could be called expansions. Digital extremes is always adding more tenno and lately have been creating amazing open world maps and coming soon is Star wars battlefront 2 the good one not the new Dice disappointment space battles like missions

    With the many systems and features in Warframe, it has a little bit of everything for everyone. This includes space combat, classic loot-shooter gameplay, pvp, an active trading community, open world areas and a story that I deem better than many modern paid games' stories. The various parts are revealed progressively to ensure new players aren't overwhelmed. Some of these parts don't always fit together perfectly, such as archwing combat, but the developers never stop improving upon these systems or adding new ones through frequent updates. The selection of equipment in Warframe is equally as massive and ever-expanding to suit all playstyles. Officially, Warframe is still in early-access, but still has more content than most games.

    No items in Warframe are off-limits to free players (other than community-made items, which you have to pay for) and can be obtained through enough farming and trading is an effective alternative to obtaining the in-game premium currency, meaning premium items can be obtained by anyone.

    Warframe is a gem that I would recommend to anyone looking for a long-term game to play.

    This is the type of game that you could play for hours and not realize time is passing. Very rarely do i find a free game so good that is amazing. Although because of the really long grind that requires you to go on auto-pilot for hours in order to progress in the game i can't give it a 10.

    The only rivals are pretty much Destiny and Anthem. These games are basically about the same thing - shooting lots of stuff, get better guns, shoot more stuff. Warframe executes it perfectly. With 6 years of development, it grew way more content than both Destinies and Anthem altogether. You will never log into Warframe and feel like you have nothing to do. There is almost too much to do. I wont even try to list it here, because really, you can write a book about Warframe.
    And of course, all of this crazy amount of content is totally free. "Not very low" price tags of both Desnity (where every expansion cost like the base game) and Anthem make the free-to-play model of Warframe even more appealing. It is a fair model, too. The premium currency can totally be achieved by playing, and using it to buy weapons is sometimes much less efficient than crafting them.
    The game barely has technical problems. Optimization is there, the game doesn't look horrible even on the lowest settings. Plus it only takes 30 GB on your hard drive vs 90 GB for Destiny and 50 GB for Anthem.
    All in all, it is a game everyone should try out. It is so immersive anyone can try to find something to love about it.

Warframe is the perfect example of free to play done right! You can earn everything ingame or trade it with other players, the only difference is: If you want something free (like a new primeframe) , you have to grind a few hours .... if you want it right now with one click, you can pay for it.

    The Warframe universe is beautiful and has a stunning depth to it, the fight system is great

    The only downside of this game is the lack of endgame, sure there is always some grind or fashion frame but no real meaningful cause to bring the Tenno together and give them a goal.

    For me this game is 8.5 / 10 ... rounded up to 9 / 10.

The game also incentives reviving each other with a hard to get achievement based on it. Community isn't perfect as you have those players who always have something to complain about your favorite piece of equipment. It only happens about 1 in a 100 ques so not a big deal. A bit more frequent if you play Limbo.

    You can earn EVERYTHING for free. The game allows people to trade easy to get items for premium currency which allows you to get anything you want. You will need to be familiar with the second party website warframe market so I can't say the game is 10 out of 10. Warframe market is easy to use though so not much of a problem. Most (not all) will type "thank you" or "have a nice day" after you complete the trade.

    The game has a progression system that isn't crazy hard. When you hit a wall its VERY easy to find out how to hurdle it with help from the community. The wiki is kept up-to-date so you'll be able to find out how to get that gear you need quickly. I've even sometimes been gifted a piece from people who are just being nice. Since then I've gifted a few pieces to several other players. People are nice in this game.

    The depth of the game is an enormous cavern to explore but not required. You can make your own weapons with your perfect stats or what is cool to you, modding for every item, and every item can be made to work. If you think a weapon that's not very good is cool, you can beat almost all content with it if you put in the time. They balance items in a great way, too! There are mods you equip to a weapon that buff it more for items used less. It allows for them to make large changes quickly and keep things fair and balanced.

    The quests are fun and engaging and get more and more rewarding/epic as you get farther in the game. The only hard part is that there aren't many people who run the early levels of the game so it can be hard to get into the community as quickly as really social gamers want.

    I recommend giving it a try. Give it a day or two of playing as the first hour doesn't really capture a lot of the fun you can have as you progress. It would be nice if they made the early game more thematic of what is to come.

    Many old review that are negative aren't updated with the updates this game has received. You can run along walls, go to vast dynamic open world areas, work as a team on a star ship, reworked level designs, AI fixes and more. The game does get buggy with every big patch but the team always makes sure to include comedic and fun responses in the comments as the hot fixes are deployed so its not all bad.

    Just make sure you're ready to play a free to play game. Don't go spending real money to get all the gear right from the start. It is way too expensive. The gear it gives you is more than good enough to get you to and earn you the gear you're imaging.

Good stuff.

    It has great mechanics too. Fights are enjoyable, boss fights are mostly ok for the single player, though they get more difficult than I would have wished for. And the RPG elements are well done, they make me wish for more upgrades and customization options which kind of shows that they achieved what they are intended for.

    It's not perfect, but offers a lot more value than games from other publishers that were released after it.

    Not everything is perfect, but it is a game that rewards you for playing. Grindy for sure. Community is fine. Gamers choice, for those who seek more from games.

    The slight minus comes from content flood at start since not all can take on such massive amount of information that is spewed left and right from start to finish. Progression is confusing but streamlined with several "main" objectives of as planetary relays and main storyline mission, which opens up new aspects of the game. Speeding through the process can burn days or weeks. Which brings in the mastery system albeit the grind, mastery rank.

    Mastery exp is gained from ranking up new weapons/frames/pets/sentinels/planetary progress etc. Mastery rank from 0 to 10 should be quite fast just from the planetary/relay progression alone, but there comes the free-to-play slower, slots for weapons/frames, premium currency platinum. Community can help you with that, but to earn that premium currency through free-to-play one must know little bit of trading and have mastery rank of 2 or more (daily trades determined by ones mastery). Almost everything in this game is craftable or possible to get from relics (randomized treasure which are awarded from playing the game), not to mention biweekly trader baro that brings its own wares of salt and exotic wares..

    So you made past mastery rank 10? Congratulations, at this point you should have access to most of the content, but it has still more to give. This is but the start. but just enough.
    Last unlocks come at mastery rank 16, for the randomized riven mods.

    -if you like grind you'll love it
    -if you have not so much time it will feel, like you're getting behind

    One can easily spend 1000+ hours and not have every single thing in the game, but it's ok. Only big whales (like me) feel an inner need of getting every single item and they can succeed.
    The game has a premium "money" called Platinum. You can ofc buy it in the shop for some $, but the real kicker is that it's tradable - you can exchange the things that you grinded for 3hours on Sunday evening for some Platinum and get yourself some warframe skins.

    I'm a free2play and through trading I got over 70k platinum (equivalent of 3500$) and spent it on different sh*t&giggles. Yes, if you want to have more than 4 warframes in your arsenal you have to spend 20platinum on extra slot, so you're encouraged to trade with others in order to get it. It's a really clever system, because the whole market is self balancing - even though I didn't spend a penny, someone had to buy the 70k platinum that I used, someone used their rl money on the game.

    To summarize:
    - game is great, but not if you despise repetitive farming
    - game is really fast-paced and easy-going - perfect, if you don't want to think too much

    This game is very good, which has been constantly developed for several years by adding new content and improving the old one. Unfortunately, there is a very high entry threshold which means a lot of people will just opt out (which is a pity). In this title, first of all, the story deserves praise, which in my opinion is one of the best and very extensive.

    Play Warframe. Play it for more than a few hours, preferably with friends, and keep an open mind into doing some third-party research to straighten out some of these systems. Warframe takes so much of what makes ARPG’s addictive, and rounds it out with more polish and depth than most its competitors on the current games market. If the hooks aren’t deeply embedded by then, maybe something this in-depth isn’t for you.
