    The mechanics of volume shells were added to the game back in 2018, but as practice has shown, this mechanic does not allow you to pierce what you should pierce. Also interesting damage to light vehicles that do not die and sometimes do not even break through.
    There are also a lot of cars in the game that need to change combat ratings because they are too high.
    The economy is also not in the best condition, it does not allow you to play for 7.3 - 11.7 plus on earnings, which forces players to grind or buy higher premiums.    … Expand

Even with premium account and using a premium vehicle, the grind is absolutely insane.     The first thing I have to say is that don't look at any of the reviews made before 2020, the game a drasticly different and not in a good way. But now days the economy has jumpped off a cliff to the point that as a free to play player you simply can't afford to play the game, and even if you buy premium and premium vehicles you'll still barely break even or make a profit. Combined with the fact that even with premium time and vehicles the grind is still on the level of free to play to the point that it feels near pointless to even spend money on the game. All this combined with Gaijins lack of communication with the playerbase to the point that they are literally detached from reality just adds to the frustration, not to mention that on the few occasions where they have decided to actually collect feedback it has been after enourmous effort from the whole playerbase threatning Gaijins bottom line that they have come out with a half baked appology, followed with talking down and patronizing of their players and finally a poll with two equally bad options for the players to choose from. This cirlce repeats every so often and its results usually wary from keeping the status Quo to making the game even worse, while celebrating the success of "Co-operation" between the players and Gaijin. Not to mention that the Publisher threatened to shut down the game if they recieved any more negative critic and the fact that they refuse to consider any comments and or suggestions that aren't posted on their forums, in which in order to post something it has to be reviewed by a moderator and accepted before anyone can see it.

    This free to play game offers you the option to either not affording to play the game for free or buying premium and still not affording to play the game, all the while talking down to and patronizing the customer.    … Expand

    Developers are tone deaf and greedy. Repair cost are too high and the developer doesn't listen to the community. If the developer doesn't get their way. They just wait and slowly bring in the changes that they wanted. This game requires premium time and premium vehicles.

    Gaijin ruined this game's economy. If you are a f2p player you probably won't advance beyond tier 3 vehicles and are basically forced to pay in order to advance.

    Want to drive around in tanks only? Well too bad, have fun being s*it on by aircraft. Aircraft has their own air battles only mode.     I have been playing this game since the day it came out. It is really fun, However dev's only care about making themselves money. You have a better chance becoming an actual fighter pilot IRL then reaching top tier without premium. If you are planning on being a free to play player, stay away you are literally wasting your time.

    Summary: This game has a lot of visual charm, and it will initially make a very good impression to you. Don't be fooled! ,Pretty soon, as you progress very slowly in it, you will realize that everything is broken and left broken in order to make you pay money.     PROS:

    - The planes and tanks models are great, the visuals are beautiful. The physics and the vehicles simulator part seems overall very well made (it's not, but you'll discover it later) and potentially funny to play.

    CONS:

    - It's basically a P2W game, disguised as "Pay to go faster", because grinding can take forever and, while you grind up your vehicles and your crews, you basically will play for a very long time with handicapped vehicles and crews, while paying players and veteran players will start with more powerful vehicles and crews, basically slaughtering you everytime.

    - The maps and the game modes are boring, repetitive and bugs ridden (maps too small, missions impossible to accomplish, etc.).

    - The gameplay is totally unbalanced, and in a very frustrating way. It is based upon an unsatisfactory Battle Rating level. You will end up constantly fighting and being slaughtered by better vehicles than yours and by better players than you. It's exactly how the game is intended to work. Don't forget, you can play for free, but then you are treated as cannon fodder.

    - If you chose to play for free the grinding to unlock and then to "spade" (i.e.to upgrade) every new vehicle can be horrible. In addiction, you have to grind also your crew, because even the best vehicles with a low level crew act as bricks.

    - The premium vehicles, and generally all the paid features are terribly expensive to buy, but often will give you a serious advantage over other players.

    - This is not a beginners friendly game. The learning curve is very slow and painful, it lacks any "novice" mode to play, and the only way to (slowly) learn something is to be constantly and mercilessly bashed not only by the very expert long-time players, but also by the paying, not so good but pampered by the game, wallet warriors.

    - The game economy is completely broken. You are supposed to play for free, but everything, from new vehicles to repairs and ammunitions, will cost you insane amounts of the ingame currency, while the earnings of this currency (obtained only in battle or exchanged with real money) has been severely hampered. So, if you aren't good enough in battle and earn too little (and you have to be extremely good, not simply average, to earn something), you'll end up paying real money just to repair your vehicles and to buy their ammunitions for every battle.

    CONCLUSIONS: Avoid at all costs this trap if you care for your mental health. The humiliation and the frustration that you will endure before actually beginning to learn how to play a bit better will be long, unbearable and simply not worth it. And then, the frustration will not end after you improve your skills, because you will still deal with how broken the game economy is.    … Expand

    No balance, no maps, no gameplay, no fun, no customer support, no future. Just a grindfest, pay-to-win, tons of bugs. Waste of time, even if you invest 1000hrs, you won't unlock even 1 nation.

    I have played for awhile the game in it's current state is just not fun unless you're playing German Ground battle wise Air battles are fun but really limited in satisfaction leading to be just a deathwatch. The content added won't be anything the majority of players will ever see due the grind. World war is also just terrible a mix of arcade markers and Realistic battle mechanics leading to an awkward sit and click play. I never liked Arcade battles due to it pretty much being hit w right click and shoot but it's the mode pretty much you're forced to play due to how little you get for rewards after tier III. The community absolutely dismisses the dump of complaints due to usually the people that drop massive amounts of money into this game have a weird lost profit fallacy so valid complaints are dismissed by the majority of people on the forums. There's really nothing left to just have fun it's just repetitive frustration or you feel like the game is too easy depending on your vehicle. Ultimately if you're a hardcore player it will be a chore if you're casual it won't be fun so what's the point of even playing a game with amazing penetration system with no way to have fun with it. 1 star because the developers somehow turned a fantastic game into just a boring mess with no redeeming qualities left.… Expand

It takes several minutes to find a multiplayer match, and the matches start off with 5 to 10 minutes of simply taking off and climbing to altitude. While that's realistic, it's not really very fun, and can be really frustrating when you want to practice your skillsThis game is one of the best vehicle simulator games on the market, but it's biggest drawback is that it isn't very fun. It takes several minutes to find a multiplayer match, and the matches start off with 5 to 10 minutes of simply taking off and climbing to altitude. While that's realistic, it's not really very fun, and can be really frustrating when you want to practice your skills only to have 10 to 15 minutes in between very brief encounters with other players.
    In stark contrast, there is arcade mode, which is an absurd hodge-podge of planes killing each other and exploding, which can be fun, but quickly it becomes apparent that there's not really any skill to be developed there, and it starts to pail in comparison to a more skill based or realistic experience.
    The game's flight mechanics and graphics are genuinely very good, but unfortunately the game is much more likely to leave you frustrated that you have to spend another 15 minutes waiting to be shot down immediately, or to not get any points for shooting down a plane because the pilot bailed out before you could seal the deal. It would be a truly great game if the devs came up with some new mission styles, or tried to bridge the gap between arcade and realistic modes, but it doesn't seem like they will. The main positive is that it's a free to play game, so you won't be out $60 unless you decide to try premium.
    All in all, the game just seems like a big waste of potential, and it has been around long enough to indicate that the devs likely won't be making any changes to the match making or gameplay, but are consistently and solely focused on adding more vehicles.
    I'm a lover of airplanes, and I truly wish I could give this game a better score, but I just find myself ending all of my matches either disappointed, frustrated, or both.    … Expand

Crew levelling is nicely done, though it makes little if any difference due to the apparent complete indifference towards British kit and players.

    I've played the British forces up to Tier 3 for naval, air and ground. Played it for several weeks expecting to find good vehicles and bad, some sort of overall balance or playstyle that works. But there isn't one, the Brits are merely there as food for the other nations. Outflank an axis tank and put 5 rounds into their flank, only for them to one shot you in return. This is the hard rule rather than the exception. Naval sees your frigate being outgunned by axis ferries ( yes really!) and the only highlight of the air tree is the numerous marks of Spitfire... Who therefore carry just enough ammo to not pose too much of a threat to the opposition.

    Great potential, particularly for combined arms battles, let down by clearly biassed balancing which results in it being a painful and expensive waste of time. Avoid entirely if you prefer to play British forces.    … Expand

    Great game, but unbalanced to favor russian tanks and Gaijin dont seem to have any intentions to balance the game. Also "free to play" can be questioned, while most of the premium tanks cost almost 50e each meta game have been made impossible to reach whitout subscription or spending money on golden eagles.

    The game can not balance the games out. That means there will always be someone who can slaughter everyone else. I really feel if someone who worked at Gaiijin actually played the game they could make it better. I'll notice that Gaijin does not care about the game's quality or balance as 1.     2.They 95% of the time only bann account whose are inactive low level account user. Yes there is still some cheater around on high lvl and if u report them 99% that wont happen anything.

    You can play for free until rank 3, those are T-34-85 and Tiger 1. Then vehicle repair cost becomes very high and you have to pay to keep playing.
    So basically you are not allowed to play M1 Abrams, Leopard 2K and T-64B for free. Which makes this game stupid.

    If you want to be a fighter pilot, this is your game. If you want to fly a bomber or drive a tank, you'll spend your time getting killed by fighters or helicopters. They refuse to add a mode for tanks-only.

    Terrible developers, refuse to address any of the issues with the game, such as miniscule maps, CAS spam and spawn camping, in favour of adding more overpowered premiums, have not once listened to anyone who has played more than 20 minutes of the game and it shows in their continued ineptitude. Avoid at all costs.

    Gaijin really don't know what they're doing at all. I started playing 2-3 years ago, and even back then they didn't know what they were doing, but at least they seemed like they were trying. The matchmaking changes have been horrible, and (as much as its overstated sometimes), there's a debatable Russian bias and they straight up retcon history sometimes.

    I love the game to death, but as long as its in the hands of such an unorganized and dysfunctional development team, that won't be happening any time soon. This game is the epitome of one of those FPS's that seem promising for the first few months, and then you realize how much of a grind it really is.

    It's not even just the fact that it's a grind, it's not about taking forever to unlock planes, it's not about the fact that it will take the average user about a year to get their first jet, because it's possible to have fun in this game without jets. In fact, jets are one of the most unbalanced and un-fun parts of this game, besides ground forces. The early tiers are some of the most fun, in fact. That's why you so often see players with about 100 hours or less giving WarThunder positive reviews, yet as you go up through the hours, most of those players start giving negative reviews.

    The real issues lie in the dev team's unwillingness to listen to the community, their horrid, horrid, HORRID mod team who watch over their forums like hawks and strike down almost all criticisms of the game with impunity, it lies in the fact that they've made some painfully obvious cash grabs in the game, like making it so you have to pay for country flags because "teamkilling was an issue." We offer criticisms and ways to fix the issues, they give us bans, longer grinds, and horrible BRs.

    The dev team's unwillingness to not only fix the FM issues, but even their complete failure to acknowledge them, means that the game is doomed if it continues on the path it's currently on. BRs are complete trash, if you aren't flying the flavor of the month plane then you might as well not be flying. If you're not driving a Russian tank, you might as well not be driving.

    Now, because of Gaijin's failures, hundreds of veterans like me are jumping ship. Not because we don't care about the game anymore, but because Gaijin doesn't. Most bad reviews of this game are from players who has played for a long time, and most of the good ones are from complete new users who are still able to enjoy the game before they realize how truly bad the situation is.

    I'm also pretty mad at the fact that Japan gets **** over soooooo much. Germany has been getting pounded on, or at least was last time I played, Russia has always had curbstomping abilities over the other nations, and the US flip flops depending on the tier. British are just everywhere. I personally stopped playing consistently about the time when ground forces started having the issue with the foliage, where you would be at a severe disadvantage (and I'm talking gamebreaking severe) if you kept your grass/foliage on. I have logged on a handful of times since, but only for 2-3 rounds and then I just get tired and sad. I want the game to be good. The sad thing is, though I have been playing for 2-3 even back then and through the years, I can never truly say the game has felt completely good. There have always been a number of broken FMs, the economy has gone through various levels of **** one nation is always curbstomping another, etc.
    Gaijin's PR is horrible, especially with their whole "guys, don't judge, we're still in Beta" excuse which has been **** bull**** ever since you've been able to pay to get ahead in the game. It's been bull**** ever since they started using it as an excuse to disregard their personal flaws and using it as a way to completely shift the blame from them over to the community. It's been bull**** because most games in beta survey the userbase, asking for feedback, while Gaijin denies feedback at every opportunity. Ever since their PR team straight up quit the subreddit, calling it a "toxic environment", most likely due to the fact that they were unable to control what was said (unlike their forums, where they have total control and use that control freely), there was no hope for their PR team. A development team that will readily call their community, who offers criticisms and only wants to help the game get better (though I do concede that a lot of the players will get pissy after a bad patch, but who can really blame them?) isn't fit to run a game.

    I really do want this game to be good. But as long as it continues on the path it's currently treading on, I will not recommend it, or play it.    … Expand

After a few updates, it got unplayable. There are some overpowered tanks that one-shot you no matter what tank you have and also everything got much more harder to achieve.     -**** gameplay: wow, cool, as if camping and sniping for hours without end in other games wasn't boring enough, you can now do it in a tank that takes 5-60 seconds to reload after every shot depending on how **** you are. **** yay.
    yay king of the hill mode, like i haven't seen that one before. yay domination, something new. yay, there is literally nothing interesting in this game, except if you like to drive 10 mins with a tank at 15mph to try to flank the enemy just to get one-shot.
    also: one shots. you'll get one-shot all over the place, doesn't matter if the enemy is right in front of you or a mile away. you'll get one-shot through buildings, the floor, debris, dead tanks, and even ricochet from a friendly unit.
    -**** balance: t34 best tank in the world. world war winning tank with stalinium armor and cryptonite ammo. nuff said. the russian bias is real - who would've thought it, it's a russian game after all.
    interestingly gaijin writes about tanks at level 1.0 ("battke ranking") that are able to deal with tanks at level 3 (which is true). but they dont change the level of that tank. nope. seems about right.
    also tank levels seem to change with every day passing and depending even of game type you're playing, but you cannot look up the real facts, when that very tank has what level, so that after you made a decent team and joined a game, you see that the levels are all over the place and your once balanced team suddenly has one very high level member and you now have to fight other players that have way stronger units, not as if one-shotting wasn't a huge issue anyway, now you cant even retaliate.
    -**** supporters/mods/developers: there is actually a forum where you can post all your bug reports just to have them ignored. yay. each update comes with new bugs. yay. old ones rarely get fixed. nay.
    -**** premium: how about you pay a **** of money to get great units to fight real **** ones? great, isn't it? you're invincible and can one-shot everybody for some cash. also, you can buy the whole game for millions of dollers. awesome. some people actually grind all the stuff for years on end. yeah, **** them, amirite gaijin

    also who the **** came up with these ideas:
    spawning points are not possible to get artillerized, but can very well can get bombed.
    airplanes should start out being built out of wood, so that you catch on fire the first 100 times you fly it until you have researched the last def-upgrade. same applies for tanks, except there you can't upgrade you def normally, but fire extinguishers aren't available from the start either. also you cant repair your tank from the start either, everything has to be researched
    you can help your squadmate repair, but not your other teammates. it's also not possible to repair a tank if you havent made that specific upgrade, even if your squad mate has the same tank as you do and is around to help but you cant start repairing.
    fires cant be put out under water
    your crew drowns literally in 3 seconds
    maps usually look like each team just came from their respective base to the battle, still you start out with tanks all over the place, srsly, noone drives a tank backwards to battle, not even the ai, not even 90° tilted. also you spawn on/in eachother which gaijin only could solve by making your tank impervious to damage for some time at spawn - great, but useless against all spawnkillers and "traffic jams" at game start.
    if your tank's tires/chain is damaged your crew immediately refurse any orders for a second and stop driving to start repairing it asap. nice feature, right? nope, you cant hide like this from enemy fire, you cant put your tank in a more favourable angle to the enemy fire. you'll have to wait 4 seconds to be able to do anything. also, crew doesn't give a damn if literally everything else is destroyed, but hell brakes loose if the chain is loose.
    killing ai will not give you any points whatsoever for researching your already very weakly starting new units, so that it's even more of a pain to try and use new units. also, most matches have like 50% ai, which makes for very boring , since not very intelligent, play.

    As tank simulator you'd better never start playing this **** Forget mighty Tiger, soviet t-34-85 will oneshot you from any side, but you will not with your 88mm. If you not donate for premium acc - prepair to get a lot of pain in battles with tougher tanks you just not able to penetrate their armor.

    Grind: The grind to get new vehicles becomes almost unbearable once you hit the third tier of vehicles. Even with a premium account, you can expect to play at least 25 matches to earn a single tier 3 plane. And as you can probably guess, tiers 4 and 5 are horrendous. My recommendation? Up the number of research points by at least 5 times the current amounts, and then for free accounts. Premium accounts should be done at roughly 10 times the current rate.

    Micro transactions: Buying a premium plane simply is not worth it. Half of them do not even have the proper loadouts, and most never flew, or flew sparingly as test aircraft only.

    this game is not worth your time. Stick with actual simulator battles by a committed company, not one merely in it for the money.    … Expand

    I know alot of the game is great but what I find a letdown is this. in patch 1.47 (the current patch as of Feb 2015.) The Devs Just F**KED the game up. This lead to the anger of the community and the forum admins banning everyone making it worse. Many people have quit the game as a result of this.

    The Trojan it installs on your machine is called Gaijin.net . It enables itself w/o permission to start when you start your computer. It is a known problem if you google search it before getting the game and you will see the moderators act like you can just disable a check box and it will go away then they lock the forum thread to keep people from talking about it.

    So I unchecked the box they suggested, rebooted and it didn't work.

    I followed that by unchecking ALL the boxes on that page, but that also didn't work.

    I finally uninstalled the game because of it. After doing that I rebooted to find it still there loading up when computer starts. StILL THERE AFTER UNINSTALLING GAME, think about that for a second.

    I then had to turn on "see hidden files and folders" then go manually find it and delete that folder. And even after that, and to this day it is still on my brand new computer hiding somewhere inside my windows 10. Even had a guy from Microsoft using remote access and controlling my computer and he couldn't find where its hiding. Best I could do in the end is Win key + R, then msconfig and disable it from starting up when computer does.

    The negative reviews are accurate. Impossible research tiers. Could take months at top tiers to get next vehicle, & it gets to the point where you can't afford to repair, which is frustrating when the gameplay is getting you killed 1/2 - 2/3 of the time.

    The perfect example of a potentially excellent game killed by the Devs. Every patch the developers delivery a worse gaming experience and increase the grind. Bugs are left untouched for months or never fixed. Community is largely ignored. Moderation deletes any post critic whit the game or the Devs, even constructive criticism is banned.     Blatant greed on the part of the developers have turned this once brilliant game into a cynical money making exercise

Flight models are completely broken for most planes, damage models for both planes and tanks are completely fubar....constant stealth nerfing of match rewards to slow progress to a crawl thus forcing people to pay to progress at a reasonable rate....no. When the update came out, everyone was outraged and there were tons of posts showing this. Gaijin decides to start locking lots of posts and many were ignored. I actually stated that I was unhappy with the way that Gaijin and the forum moderators responded to this and made a topic which discussed this. Then, I am told that I am not allowed to criticize the moderators. The game is still fun when playing a battle of 2 but it is too time consuming to get further in the tree. The ground forces was supposed to bring hope back to the game. The arcade of tanks was actually reasonably fun but the promised combined battles (planes and tanks) were bitterly disappointing. Another tool, the CDK which was to bring custom missions to War Thunder was another hope that became a disappointment. Gaijin attempts to block every single attempt to circumnavigate the grinding, requiring you to have a plane to fly it in a mission. The poor explanation and instructions of the tool are another drawback. Whatever you do in this game, don't spend money (real money) on this game as Gaijin needs to be taught a lesson.… Expand

    This game used to be good, until:
    - Matchmaking got screwed up. Vehicles now have a "battlerating" which often has very little to do with its performance / historical era. So it can easily happen you are facing Korean War jets while flying a WWII propeller plane. You are also highly likely to face post-war tanks in your 1943 models, which means your skill doesn't really matter anymore, you're highly likely to get wrecked (literally). This ruins the realistic approach the game would like to have.
    - A few months ago you used to have a x2 XP bonus for the first victory WITH EACH OF THE 5 AVAILABLE NATIONS (USA, GB, Russia, Germany, Japan). (Similar to World of Tanks.) This motivating system was recently replaced by daily log-in rewards. They are extremely less powerful than the old boost, and those rewards even expire after 3 days. They do stack, so you can use them all at once, but their outcome is highly diminished upon stacking.
    - Pay-2-win slowly but surely gets more and more.

    Conclusion:
    Right now I would not recommend this game. It used to be a fun game, so two years ago I would have praised it and advertised it. But today, even more with the latest developments, I fear there's little point in playing it for fun. Unless one is willing to pay a lot of money...

    Still, PLEASE read other reviews too, because they will vary from mine! My point of view of course is different than other players'! Keep that in mind when considering whether to start playing War Thunder or not.

    But I got of the worsening changes. (I'm not tired of the gameplay though. So if one is able to forget about all the issues there are, this game can be great fun.)    … Expand

    DON'T and i repeat, DON'T spend 1€ into the game. Play it if you like, until the paywall and grind is so high that you'll be forced to stop, then leave. Don't never ever think to go and actually "care" about the game by browsing the forums or participate at the "events" they'll eventually organize, 3/4 of them are just a trap and you'll feel fooled and ripped off at the end of them.

    If you like actual WoT style gameplay that's the game for you, with a tons of bugs ofc but hey ! From patch 1.53 onward there will be invisible tanks, camos, pay-to-win "skill" to see the enemy tanks and pay-to-win qualifications to boost that skill. You'll find absolutely no real "simulation" into the game (apart from the good 3D models): all the hidden "numbers" in the code are just arbitrary like a lot of the things in the game. You'll find that almost all the russian tanks perform "extremely well" without a real reason (the game is russian).

    TLDR: it's a trap run by freaking mongoloids that is sinking thanks to their incompetence. Stay away.    … Expand

    1. Community management is terrible. All those talks about forum dictatorship are true - even objective criticism is not welcome there. CMs allow themselves mocking comments like "win" in regard to the questions like "What should I do on Me.262 versus far more advanced post-war jets" or "just donate" and etc.

    2. Economy/research has turned into a disguised cash grab. Unlocking mid- and especially high-tier units requires a lot of grind forcing you to donate if you want to skip it at least a bit. Worst thing is that from patch to patch the research efficiency keeps droping.

    3. The praised historical and realistic focus of this game is mostly gone. Some historical units like A-26 or BTD-1 are premium only while standard unit trees got DOZENS of prototypes and 'paper planes'. Also get ready for things like 1944 German planes fighting post-war aircraft they never met IRL. And they're doing it based on self-determined 'battle rating' of those units for the sake of 'balance'...

You could see things like F-2H Banshee jet with 4 cannons and a thrust-to-weight ratio of War Thunder's TOP JET, MiG-15, fighting piston engine planes... That was fixed not so long ago, but it is just one example, many others remain.

A game bonus that is to last for over a day was only allowed once on several occasions for only one time. Since my complaint filed, I have been kicked out of game and the only way I could get back in was changing my password.     The epitome of Russian bias against everyone but the Russian lines. The BR rating system is broken and the way you upgrade your vehicles depends solely on how much you pay and even then you don't have a guarantee of reaching the top. My advice, avoid this game at all cost.

    Not mentioning there is no penalty for kamikazi bomber runs in tank battles – and there is usually no AA in tank battles, as playing AA is a huge pain in the ass and is not profitable. So even when your team is winning, get ready to be crashed into by yet another kamikazi moron.

    And yes, higher tiers are pay to win. Or grind for months to win, which is basically the same, as time is money and you have to dump A LOT of time to get there for free.

    I've started with it several years ago, it was fun to play and level up, got up to Russian jets, then abandoned. Some time ago decided to give tanks a try – and oh boy, did they ruin the game.

    Used to be a nice game. Now it is complete unbalanced garbage. its also full of clans who just exploit the map with cheap tactics. Clans should be forced to only play each other, so they can bore each other by sitting on the edge of the map.

    Gaijin has jumped on the funny EA *we only want money* train and it shows ingame.

    And not to talk about the absure prices to repair one of your tanks/ships/plane. if you are a good player and kan make 3-7 kills per match you will get around 50-120k silver a round some of the tanks/boats/planes costs 45k+ to repair so if you have a bad player that barely make a kill will never have enough of silver to repair..... and then there is the mods..... banning players from chat because they asking when the game is going to be better...... if you see this DON*T PLAY THIS I rather actually go back to a **** game called World of tanks instead of this..... it's just getting worse and it's stupid how gaijin think they can still go on the money train and never make the game better.... it's all about money and Honestly DON'T even bother playing it.......    … Expand

    One of the cornerstones of War Thunder is that player’s skill is more important than his wallet. Premium vehicles offer no combat advantages, there is no “microtransaction-only” ammo or consumables, so no amount of cash will buy you a spot on the top of the food chain. [Issue#216, p.56]

    The official launch of War Thunder reminded me why I like this game so much. It's adorably chaotic - in contrast to the reliably designed World of Tanks. That's why it can be really fun and frustrating at the same time. There's tons of great vehicles (and the planes are superb!) and a difficult simulation mode, but there are also balance and technical issues.
