Aug 7, 2012As attractive in motion as it is in design, Unmechanical is a majestic 2.5D puzzler.
-
Sep 26, 2012Unmechanical provides players with addictive and mind-perplexing puzzles, in addition to both a charming and atmospheric presentation. Stunning visuals and a captivating soundtrack combine for one of the best looking and sounding independent games in recent history. Unfortunately, the gameplay experience of Unmechanical suffers from the lack of a proper narrative and details on the game's setting and characters.
-
Aug 23, 2012Unmechanical delivers a unique puzzle/ platforming experience along with quite an inspired art direction. If you're looking for something different and cheap (but, mind you, quite short) then this game is for you.
-
Oct 24, 2012This is a charming puzzler with a unique setting and varied tasks. But is also rather short and a little too easy.
-
Sep 28, 2012Like Like so many indie games hitting the market these days, Unmechanical has found yet another way to break the platformer mold and offer up a hefty amount of puzzle solving gameplay for a small price. For the adventures in this title, you will take on the role of a small robot with a propeller and a limited range tractor beam.
-
Aug 24, 2012The only real problem with the length is the pacing, with no indication given that you're on the last area and solving the final puzzle until, surprise!, end credits. It's analagous to reading a review that, while technically it's said everything it needs to, simply comes to a stop.
-
Aug 13, 2012Unmechanical could have made more of an effort on its storytelling to get us somewhere. But the puzzles are good, even though they remain simple, and the game's gorgeous. More than enough to be happy.
-
Aug 13, 2012The only downside of Unmechanical is that it's quite a linear experience and it's a little too short. However for the price, it's definitely worth investigating if you're looking for a a fun yet sometimes frustrating puzzler. Recommended!

Aug 10, 2012It's charming, well planned and its atmosphere and gameplay won't let you go until you finish it up. Once you are done with it, you won't complain about its short length –you will be happy because you've enjoyed such a experience. It is not very original, but if you're a puzzle-based adventure games fan, it's a must-have.

PC GamerOct 5, 2012Unmechanical dazzles with its gorgeous artwork and smart physics-based puzzle, but its ending is ultimately unsatisfactory. [Dec 2012, p.66]
-
CD-ActionAug 29, 2012The journey through Unmechanical's underground complex is an engaging and enriching experience. [10/2012, p.66]
-
Aug 20, 2012Unmechanical is a great puzzle game. Every aspect of the game is well balanced and the player has always the freedom to solve puzzles in lots of ways, avoiding annoyance.
-
Aug 9, 2012Playing Unmechanical is a very pleasant experience. You get from one puzzle to another and try very hard to come up with a solution – what needs to be moved, pressed, stacked or opened to progress. Unfortunately, the end comes too quickly. The whole game will take up to 4 hours for a skilled player. There are a few ways to get to the finale, but still Unmechanical leaves you wanting more. Perhaps it is so, because a longer gameplay would become frustrating? It's hard to say.
