    Sometimes you ask yourself, what if 'The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth' & 'Enter the Gungeon' created a baby, what would it look like? This is the game. For an Early Access game, the pixel art style is amazing for what they’re trying to achieve with this game.

    Storyline premise, I have no idea, all I know is that your a lowly mining peasant who is sent on a journey with quests to rescue trapped people inside the goldmines, travel your way through dungeons and battle dangerous bosses.

    One cool thing about this game is that the game generates a new character name upon respawn at death (when health goes to 0) or at the creation of each new game save. So ideally, you will never have the same character ever.    … Expand

    i completed this game today, well the first run through (you then can play again with hex's attached to your miner which make it even harder.(took around 30 hours btw mainly because the bosses were so hard but fun.

    This game had me dying over and over again each time letting me upgrade my equipment or brewing a potion for my next trip to the dungeon to once again die. but gaining a little more knowledge and another chance at defeating the floors boss and maybe i would find a new schematic for an armour buff for next time.

    I've given it a 7 because i feel they could of done alot more with the relics/buffs/equipment etc they just feel a tad lack luster and not very imaginative, don't get me wrong some are great but never amazing and the majority are just meh and have a very small impact on your character. i believe it was for balancing the game and not making things op.

    the concept of the game is great. it feels to me like slay the spire(relics and buffs each play through) and diablo 3 (top down fighting). except it lacks in imaginative and impactful relics&buffs and only sticks with one weapon *a pick axe* all the way through.

    i assume they are staying true to a "miner" but i would of preferred some like cool pickaxe , a double headed one, one that shoots mini pickaxes out of it or like a move where the pickaxe spins in circle creating a whirlwind and spins around the map. just feel i needed more.

    Summary: its an addictive game, progression is steady, upgrades and buffs are balanced but lacks imagination. The Bosses are great and require tactical fighting not just mashing the attack button.
    Graphics fit very well for this style of game. Sound is a-bit poor in terms of variation, monster sounds etc.

    Has potential to be a 8/9 if they beef it up. But for now its a 7.

    Unless the product insults the audience or is flawless in all it's aspects it isn't a 100 or 0.

    It is a simple yet effective game. It's not as complex or well made as Isaac but it has it's own charm that just works. The items are a bit dull at times but recent patches has added better stuff. The story is fine and nothing special while the dialog catches your attention quite nicely.    Unless the product insults the audience or is flawless in all it's aspects it isn't a 100 or 0.

    Como lo menciono otra persona aquí, es como si The Binding of Isaac y Enter the Gungeon tuvieran un hijo. Aun no lo termino realmente, pero lo que he jugado puedo decir que es un juego que te atraparla por horas, puede ser algo frustrante, si no has jugado alguno de los juegos que se mencionaron antes, te recomiendo jugarlos, puedes empezar con este también.

    Upgrades in video games are a great way to reward a player for their time playing the game, and can typically help to make something easier. Sometimes upgrading your gear is the key to progressing, while in other games it's an optional quest for a player who wants to take all the game in. Undermine feels like it wanted to be the former, but didn't understand what it was doing. There's no real sense of progression for a player, since you're really only as good as your gear, and you have to go through all the early areas each run anyways. It's not like the gameplay keeps it afloat either way, since that starts to drag after a few runs. Sorry to say it, but Undermine is a bit of a disappointment.… Expand

    As it is UnderMine is a slightly addictive, but also quite grindy roguelike which can get boring a bit too soon. With just a few changes, especially in the way boosting items such as artifacts work, as well as a few additional tools like weapons or skills (and maybe a more striking art style), it could be one of the genre's classics.

    It’s worth noting that you’re still at the mercy of luck with the utterly randomized rooms and some runs can just plain out feel dirty while some have rewards galore, but it mostly feels fair. We say mostly because it felt like there was some hit and collision detection at times with finnicky spikes and holes in the floor that made for what felt like a few cheap deaths. Even so, it’s not enough to detract massively from the overall satisfying experience of adventure and progress that UnderMine provides.

    UnderMine is built to punish, but also to reward those who overcome the challenge with effort and skill. It is a game that is always a pleasure to play again, and that can steal hours and hours of our lives with no apparent effort.
