I will keep it short: This is basically Uncharted 2 or 3 with less action. The grapple hook is a useless addition that only works in specific areas and the swinging looks very iffy. Most of the time you will be mindlessly walking around in a very linear level that feels devoid of life. The other 50 percent of the time you will be watching cut scenes. If you really want to experience Uncharted, go play part 2 or 3 on PS3. Graphically it is underwhelming too. The characters look great, but the world design is nothing special. Finally, the PC version keeps crashing about once an hour. Expand

This is my first Uncharted game! I’ll try to make this review as fair as possible as it’s still fresh in my mind. Uncharted 4 starts off on a very high note. Uncharted 4 starts off on a very high note. The characters, story and action were all present for this to be the magnum opus of Uncharted games. However, as soon as you get to the island story missions, the game becomes a MESS. By mess I don’t mean hindered with technicalities or issues with compatibility but rather the gameplay just becomes a complete chore. I don’t know how they dropped the ball on this. It’s almost as if they ran out of ideas halfway through. The final mission was a complete letdown in my honest opinion….after all that work to finally get to my final destination I was met with the most unimaginative boss fight of all time paired with the fact that they don’t even let you explore the final setting for long as it pretty much just leads up to the boss fight + cinematic ending. The epilogue literally saved the ending from becoming a TOTAL letdown. This game is a low 7, 7.5 maximum and if you compare it to other games that were released around the same time like ‘Mad Max’ for example, you can see just how “on the rails” and unimaginative it is. Great PC Port. Subpar PlayStation game. Not nowhere near the level of God of War’s artistic gameplay. Expand

EDIT: Played Lost Legacy and I would argue it is a much improved experience in the given framework for gameplay, though I disliked the final level a lot. Chloe's character is some Duke Nukem character, but there is a lovely chemistry between Nadine and her at some point. Falls completely apart with Nadine's violent behaviour towards colleagues without ramifications for it.

Played only Uncharted 4 and only finished, because I wanted to see the craftsmanship of the artdesign, animation team and other individuals and honestly a pirate treasure hunt is a fun concept. As far as the overall gameplay and direction goes it is a 2/10. Probably you should play the recent Tomb Raider Survivor trilogy instead.

The platforming is so stiff on rails, creating almost an autorunner like experience with none of the reaction and rhythm. The required button presses are to check whether you fell asleep or not. Ignores established fun patterns of 3D platforming. Devolves into a self-mockery with constant “break” animations, because there is no other way to spice things up.

There are very few puzzles in the game and they are very easy, so those struggling to comprehend Dora the Explorer should be good. And yet the game still spoils the solution unasked for making it straight up insulting.

Feeling of exploration is not there at all, because of the strict linearity. Particularly damning after the playing the brilliant Subnautica beforehand.

The story shows some stunning animation work with impressively fine character expressions. Unfortunately, it falls apart for a few reasons.

First, it shows the protagonist’s troubled past giving him a unique identity, but instead he is a cardboard cutout of a man with perfect physical and mental health, and oddly enough despite his past an infinite amount of psychological resilience. Add to that from the Marvel stock-one-liners and he becomes unlikeable.

The villain is an annoying cliché as well. With classically bad Hollywood scenes as in a trashy movie.
But more importantly the entire premise for the treasure hunt is so illogical from the getgo and that gets mentioned so much later you wonder if the protagonist has some learning disability. This game creates the perfect ludonarrative dissonance.

To this point you could still perhaps find some enjoyment out of this as a chill game, but the combat is so infuriating, I simply laughed maniacally towards the end. Complex, vertical level design, with aggressively flanking AI sounds like an interesting pitch, but in reality it is simply random. No singleplayer game beforehand managed to recreate the experience of a badly balanced Day 1 multiplayer shooter as perfect as this.

    - Some spawn points right next to you

    - Almost impossible to build situational awareness of enemy placement

    - Bullet sponge shotgun rushers

    - ADADAD standing RPG spam

    - Most egregious aimbot grenade spam ever seen in gaming

    - With the chosen level design, the feeling of a tactically superior team ambush from the competitive FPS of your choice

I must wonder how hard the management has thrown out all these concerns which surely must have been brought up by the generally talented teams, because it stood in the way of a “cinematic, dynamic and realistic” experience. There is a reason 3D action platformers play samey with slightly different flavors and none do it like this.

What can I say about this port? Well, visually is very good but the actual gameplay is lacking, there is little challenge, often you have to press buttons on quick scenes and that's all. I think also the narration is a bit confusing to understand as the previous episodes were not ported on pc. I was expecting better, honestly

I was expecting more from this port. Mouse movement is terrible and very slow with the latest patch. Graphics is good but you can notice textures are old and not on pair with a 2022 game. Fun factor is just mediocre, lots of pre-scripted scenes and cinematographic effects but there is little thinking and creativity left for the player. It was my first time playing an Uncharted franchise game and my impressions are mixed. While the story itself is great, the gameplay is dated and gets repetitive after a few hours.
The game starts amazingly when introducing the characters, story and mechanics. The middle chapters, however, start to get repetitive, with poor AI NPCs appearing in the most improbable places to shoot at you.

At some point I climbed to a place in the middle of nowhere, hard for my own character to achieve, just to find three NPCs shooting at me. Also, puzzles tend to get repetitive as nearly everywhere your character sets foot on collapses so you have to climb something or find an alternative way. To me it felt the game could have been shortened by many hours to be entertaining.
After a certain point, I wish I could just skip to the cut scenes and skip the tedious cliche gameplay.

after playing it, I can say they're both nice but it's old stuff. Visually this Uncharted for Pc it's nothing impressive. Gameplay is meh and nothing special. It seems like watching a movie rather than playing a game. My suggestion is wait for sale

There is way too much romantic content in the game, which is very unfriendly to single groups.

Middling, I do have a compatible cpu but it is pretty egregious for an old game to not support any cpu that can run it. The game looks good not mind blowing like CP77 though. I don't like the huge amount of cutscenes. I get that it's story driven rather than hands on gameplay driven but I'll watch a movie if I want that. The actual hands on gameplay isn't bad it's not amazing either, similar to the Tomb Raider series. And they could have done a lot more PC specific optimization, like I want to play in a different resolution but have not figured out how to get that since it's borderless only. It uses almost all available ram no matter how much you have 8, 16, etc just fills it up. I get some weird cutscene stuttering and glitches but nothing that is game breaking, consistent 75fps but drops to low 50s here and there on a 2060m, i5-10300h. The pricing is ok I guess since you get two games but it would have been better to separate them and charge 30 for each, had to delete and move around stuff for a 125gb recommended but really came out to about 100gb when it was installed. They started with 4 on pc because it requires less graphics upgrading and such, cheaper to do. To go back and come up with modern graphics on the earlier games would have cost a lot more not to mention the PC specific updates and they are unlikely to do it for that reason. I think I can make it through but with the cutscenes and skipping them it's not likely to be too memorable, would have been better to take a Dying Light approach which is hands on gameplay heavy with a cutscene here and there for story development and also doing the story via environmental factors and such. Needed a line by line skipping method rather than the whole scene to skip past the cringey stuff and useless stuff. I mean we know they're going for the treasure that's the whole series really and we don't need a lecture over the details and etc about it. Padding. There's probably 20hrs of gameplay here for a 60gb+ size, unbelievable. Expand

Uncharted its a good game, nice graphics, cinematics and good History, but is very linear, no exploration, no good puzzles, no ranged combat , you just have 3 guns (primary, secondary and a hook),
Bad collectables, and you don't feel like an "Indiana Jones" type explorer.

Looks nice, the story is kinda boring and dumb with long dull talks that put you to sleep, there is a lot of fan service about the older games like we PC gamers would give a fu.
The shooting is okay, the AI gets easily overwhelmed if you move around and never use cover, and completely loses track of you if you crouch on grass, but it feels like a set piece and you are always on a baby

The platforming is whatever, well done but the usual on rails stuff, at least the game has a neat look with no ugly hud so you have to use your eyes to look around to know where to go.

I have only completed Uncharted 4, the expansion doesn't interest me, so this review is for Uncharted 4.

It's a good game, with well-developed characters, a strong narrative with twists and turns, and visually charming. The game feeling is so well executed that it reminds me of Rockstar.

However, all that glitters is not gold. Uncharted 4 is quite repetitive and superficial. It's a case of rinse and repeat, literally consisting of climbing-action-puzzle sequences that repeat ad infinitum. The climbing is quite easy, fantastical and unreal, causing a loss of immersion when you realize that Nate is not a human, he's a monkey. The action is over the top and exaggerated, almost to the point of being comical. The stealth mechanics are very basic, almost non-existent. You can't distract enemies, and there are no stealth weapons, etc. The puzzles are not bad, some are too easy, but they serve their purpose of providing a break from the action.

Exploration has no meaning or reward. You only obtain objects that don't give you any benefit. The character does not progress in any aspect, has no skills, arsenal, gadgets or technical clothing. He's an improvised adventurer who solves problems with what he finds in his environment, which is quite unrealistic considering the magnitude of the events he's involved in.

The game's Hollywood-esque aspect is exceptional, but the video game part is poorly executed, if not non-existent. There's a lot of work that could have been done, such as allowing you to sell the antiques found on the black market, between missions, to obtain money and purchase upgrades for your equipment. This simple mechanic would give a lot of meaning to exploring scenarios and would provide a wonderful sense of progress, since Nathan ends the game just as he starts it, with no character development. The scenarios are beautiful and seem vast, but they're actually linear, disguised with rocks and trees.

There's another thing that hasn't bothered me too much, but I don't think it adds anything to the game, and that's the noticeable woke trend in Naughty Dog games, which is starting to worry me. I hope they don't end up like Disney, but they're certainly heading down that path. It's very fantastical to see Nadine giving the two main male characters an epic beating in a 2-on-1 fight, two grown men who are veterans and experienced in the world of adventures and action, etc. It's simply not believable. It's great to have strong female characters, of course, but there's no need to go overboard with the excuse of proving it. The appearance of your girlfriend on the island to help you is also so unrealistic; that doesn't happen in the real world.

As for optimization, there's no good news. I played the latest version six months after the game was released, and considering that it's a remastered game from 2016, the work done by Iron Galaxy is unacceptable. It's a shame that I had to activate DLSS to keep the graphics card from overheating and maintain 50 stable FPS with an RTX 3060.

A collection of two excellent games that offer a total of around twenty-five hours of quality entertainment. The script is excellent, the gameplay has its flaws but is not frustrating, and the dated graphics are in many ways offset by the beautifully designed locations, excellent character animation and atmosphere. There is absolutely nothing to complain about the final appearance of Nathan Drake, this time finally on PC. It plays remarkably, it looks even better, and now with a keyboard and mouse, you can have the most enjoyable shooting experience. An immaculate must-play for action-adventure fans and anyone who owns a PC.

If you’ve never played an Uncharted game before, both of these are excellent action adventure games with superlative set pieces. It is unfortunate that Sony didn’t release the first three games before this though, but you can play these directly. If you already played them on PS4 or PS5 and are wondering how they are on Steam Deck, I’d wait for a discount before buying them to play on the go. While they hold up well, there are too many caveats to this recommendation at full price if you already played these games before. If you haven’t the price is worth it assuming you’re ok with the storage requirements.
