Mar 20, 2019If you enjoyed the Kings Quest games and similar titles, you will enjoy Trüberbrook. Hands down, this is a surprising slam dunk. It’s a great story, with twists, humour, problem solving, adventure and mystery. There is also a choice you make at the end, which I suspect provides two endings, so it’s likely to warrant a second play through for this, but you would want to wait a bit between, to appreciate it again.

Mar 11, 2019Its outlandish narrative packed plenty of thrills and we loved learning more about the mysteries surrounding the quaint Germanic town and its residents. The use of photogrammetry also delivered its own distinctive look and we found the controls to be a treat whether using a controller or mouse and keyboard. You should note that it is over in a flash, though, and suffers from a lack of an inventory system. That being said, we would still urge you to check this one out if you’re a fan of point-and-clicks and sci-fi flicks.
-
Mar 11, 2019A visual treasure, Truberbrook is a dynamic and interesting adventure flawed by short length and fitful quality.
-
Mar 11, 2019Standout visuals and an excellent soundtrack set an extraordinary mood, which is sabotaged by streamlined puzzles and a breakneck pace that leave little room for the mystery and characters to come into their own.
-
Mar 17, 2019Truberbrook is definitely the best looking adventure game to date, and thanks to its wonderful music and sound design, it is a great choice for fans of the genre. That said, issues in story-telling and some weird puzzles prevent it from becoming a new benchmark for adventure games.
-
Mar 15, 2019Trüberbrook is a traditional graphic adventure that stands out for its visual style created through models and photometry.
-
Mar 14, 2019An interesting point & click adventure with lovable visuals and quirky characters that would have benefited from better puzzles.
-
Mar 14, 2019The handmade game scene is impressive, and the background settings of this game are attractive as well. But the story is not good enough, and the puzzles are lacking of creation and fun.
-
May 13, 2019Truberbrook is a fine example of interesting design, craftsmanship, and dedication of the developer. But as an adventure game, it does not do anything overly to new and exciting. The story is fine, characters are interesting and the puzzles can be relaxingly easy or frustratingly unintuitive.
-
Mar 14, 2019I really liked the way Trüberbrook looks, and although that isn’t enough to carry even a short game, Trüberbrook had enough interesting story beats and characters to keep me engaged. Mechanical issues and slow pace would have killed a longer or more complex adventure but the game’s imperfections were a tolerable price to pay, given the rewards of experiencing its hand-crafted world.
-
Mar 13, 2019Reveling in its own eccentricity, Trüberbrook’s quirky characters, stunningly vivid backdrops and engaging dialogue for the most part make up for some flaws in its ambitious but rushed narrative.
-
Mar 13, 2019With sumptuous hand-crafted visuals and a throwback LucasArts approach to puzzle-adventure gaming, Trüberbook is a treat for genre fans. Well, in part anyway. It’s a pity that all the goodwill the game generates is drained by an unsatisfying story that doesn’t bother to answer even half of the questions it’s raised.

PC GamesMar 12, 2019Truberbrook entices the player with its beautiful art style, an interesting story and a plethora of oddball characters, which are brilliantly voiced by the German voice actors. Sadly, Truberbrook falls short on the meat of every point-and-click-adventure – the puzzles. Most inexperienced players will get stuck on many puzzle-sections, whilst seasoned adventure-players will breeze through them. There also is a lot of wasted potential in regards to the overall plot and the characters. A little bit more complexity and more thorough characterization would’ve elevated the gaming-experience quite a lot.
-
Mar 24, 2019Truberbrook has great ideas when it comes to art design, the story and the gameplay, but only the first one is well developed. It has potential to be a great franchise, but this particular title ended up being a little bit disappointing.
-
May 10, 2019Truberbrook is a beautiful sight to behold, and its story is a great example of light comedy sci-fi. It’s only the overly-oblique puzzles that killed the adventure genre in the first place that keep it from being a truly exceptional title. There’s a valuable lesson here to adventure game developers here — it’s possible to have the best production values and plotting imaginable, but if consideration isn’t given to how players interact with the work, the result will wind up frustrating instead of magnificent.
-
Apr 10, 2019If you’re a fan of the genre, appreciate fine artwork and want to experience a fairly interesting story, Trüberbrook is worth a look, just go in with expectations in check.
-
Apr 2, 2019It’s just below average in too many areas — writing, puzzles, and voice acting to name but a few — for me to recommend. But it’s different, and it’s available in a dozen languages and three operating systems, and so it might fill a need for some people. If you’re interested, just wait for it to go on sale. By a lot.

Mar 11, 2019An interesting concept that falls apart in its execution, Truberbrook is an amalgamation of disappointments.
-
Jun 24, 2019Unless you’re a die-hard point and click aficionado, it’s difficult to recommend this adventure. One thing is for certain though: It’s not worth its RRP of £24.99.
-
Apr 5, 2019Trüberbrook is a gorgeous looking game that will certainly catch the eye of a prospective player. But inside this beautiful packaging, the main course is a strange mixture of confused direction, poor pacing, uneven story and very low challenge rating. It just feels like this is more of an impressive tech demo from an Artist Collective rather than a cohesive, full gaming experience.
-
Mar 12, 2019Trüberbrook isn’t without its charm, though. Despite the dull protagonist, the game’s story is engaging, and the smatterings of humour will occasionally raise a smile. Equally appealing is Trüberbrook’s graphical style, particularly when you’re able to behold the backdrops in all their glory. But considering how many logic-defying hoops you’ve got to jump through and the company you’ll be keeping, the journey to Trüberbrook is only for the patient.
-
Oct 18, 2019Generally, unless you’re incredibly interested in the spectacular visuals, I can’t recommend Trüberbrook. It feels half-made with large sections being completely disjointed from the plot and rooms, that no doubt took someone a ridiculous amount of time to design, build-out, and paint, having nothing in them, even when it’s abundantly clear that they should have. Perhaps cuts were made to meet a budget or tight Kickstarter deadlines but instead of having a lean 3-4 hour game that shows off what it does best, it drags on for around 6 with a lot of stiff backtracking and filler.
-
Mar 13, 2019One of the best looking point ‘n’ click adventures ever made, but the unique visuals don’t compensate for illogical puzzles and a weak script.

Mar 12, 2019In motion, Trüberbrook is achingly linear, and relies on a series of barely connected tasks. Almost nothing in the game can be described as a puzzle. It’s more of a pixel hunt, with a contextual interface that does all of the work for you. The end result is a world that’s beautiful to look at, but a game that fails to entertain in any meaningful way.
-
Mar 16, 2019A brisk run at Trüberbrook will take you around five hours or so, but it feels like, if they’d have had their ‘druthers, the team would have made it twice that. Trüberbrook isn’t bad, but it feels like a wedding cake with a couple of tiers missing. Beautiful icing, great craftsmanship on show, but somehow not all there.

Mar 13, 2019I was really hyped by this game. The visuals are spectacular, but the story is empty and sometimes a non-sense. Not worth $30
