Oh man, what a step down from Trine 2, which I gave a 10.

Pros: -Graphics -Music Cons: -Being in 3D is unnecessary and makes it difficult to see and jump at times -Early Access Gaming Model (ie, let's start a game, blow through our budget, and not finish it) -Game simply ends halfway through -No Skill Trees -No Planks/Multiple Boxes -No Fire Arrows/Ice Arrows/Exploding Arrows

-There's no reason to collect everything in a level since you can't buy any skills

You'd be better off replaying Trine 2.

If you can't make platformer for 5mil there's something wrong with the way you use money. Shouldn't have tried aaa and stay in indie. Games ends just when it gets started and should not have been released as it's worse than some early access without even being one. One fix is that they put it in early access and finish it, then il give 8 at least depending on rest of the game.

“Measure thrice, cut once”, my shop class teacher used to say. It’s a shame no one told these words of wisdom to the guys from Frozenbyte. The addition of the third dimension turned out to be very costly, both literally (the game ends abruptly because the developers ran out of money) and figuratively (gameplay and puzzles are shallow in comparison to Trine 2). It’s not a bad game, it looks great, but it is a mediocre Trine. [11/2015, p.56]

Most if its initial problems of technical nature are now addressed and Trine 3 truly shines. It may be the shortest Trine to date, but its probably the most beautiful one.

Trine 3 is a game with a meaning for fans of the genre. You should not miss it if you count yourself into this group. But if you decide not to miss Trine 3 right now, or next year when Steam sales strike again, I leave it to your own personal preferences. [Issue#256]
