Who owns the rights to Transport Tycoon (Deluxe) now?? Perfect game would use TTD as a base.. Almost no errors.. Open TTD fixed most annoying things..

A pretty dismal effort to improve its predecessor. Fixes none of the interface, performance and play-ability problems of the original game while adding unwelcome and unnecessary complexity to cargo systems. Ultimately a pretty insulting effort to emulate Transport Tycoon.

This game starts of way to slow. The first hour or so you have money for one train and one route you build it and than just wait. The 3 time speed is a joke maybe if they added a 10x speed this game would get more interesting. Now its just way to slow paced. You can watch a movie and play this game at the same time.

Terrible UI. How have we gone backwards since Railroad Tycoon and Transport Tycoon were released so long ago? It should not be so difficult to change the makeup of a train's cargo, to see what kind of passengers/cargo are at a station. Good graphics mask a poorly designed game.

Haven't had a decent transport management sim since Transport Tycoon (TT), but Transport Fever takes that mantle now for me. Sure, it's not perfect yet. The graphics are lovely - people in the world all move about their own business and the cities/businesses respond to how well you interact with them. You really get a sense that you've made a difference. Nice addition of achievements to add more goals for the campaign modes - nice historical alignment too. It even has the catchy TT-esque music lol. The most important aspect of all - it makes me think hard about how best to do something, even more than TT did! I'm completely hooked. If you're a fan of Transport Tycoon - ignore the really low-scoring reviews, they are overly dramatic, and in some instances I think some players have either missed the point, or are just bad at the game. Giving it an 8/10 because of some bugs, but great effort! Really looking forward to further patches/improvements. Expand

This game is so much better than its predecessor Train Fever! I personally enjoy the game and don't have any major complaints at all. The level of detail is great: Trains, Buses and Trucks even have working headlights. Track laying is easy, almost everything is possible. It performs well on my average PC. Expand

Well done both the Gambitious Digital Entertainment and the Urban Games team for the hard work provided in this second episode. It's true that the game is not perfect, but the very low votes are a bit exaggerated, and so I will give it a 9 to compensate, even if the real vote should be 7 for a causal player, and 8 for a fan of the transport simulation genre.

As I said, there are still some flaws, mainly with the UI and the game performance when there are too much objects on the map, but they don't really break the gameplay, that is immersive and challenging, and I hope that the Devs will continue to improve the game.

The game is really challenging particularly at the start and @ hard difficulty, where you must be very careful at what you build and where or you will be bankrupt in a few minutes.
It's really a great satisfaction to see your carefully planned transport network to grow and to bring prosperity to the cities on the map. And it's great to wait for new, powerful vehicles to unlock as the years go by.

I understand people that say this game is not so good, because it is hard to learn, isn't really realistic etc. but if you are one of the many players that played good old transport strategies, this one is for you. The mechanics and interface are identical to those of OpenTTD. Buttons like "create new line" are in the same exact place. I highly recommend it to every fan of TTD.

The only thing thats lacking is multiplayer. There is none, not even LAN. We can only hope that the developers will add it in update or in the next game.

Great game if you are a fan of the genre. Most importantly it is cross platform, and it runs smooth on my Linux setup. You need a dedicated graphics card and it is very resource hungry (compared to other games of this genre). The game is available on Steam and GOG, so you can get a DRM-free copy.

It has a pretty high simulation complexity. Every Person is simulated separately. They have a home, a workplace and a shop they'd like to visit. Some of them want to travel as quickly as possible, others as fast as possible. You'll get money depending on how fast you can transport them. For this purpose you have trains, buses, ships and airplanes available. There is also a quite complex Goods system which can be served by your transport business.
It is not a simple game, especially in the beginning and can be frustrating, if you are not patient. Also laying tracks is very tricky if you are not familiar with the provided tools, but they are very powerful if you start to master them. You can build very complex track installations.
There is also a very nice campaign mode, where you can play some episodes of American and European transport history. Moreover there is a great modding community for this games and already more than 200 mods are available on steam workshop and the community web page (mostly vehicles).

An amazing game in the genre! fun for hours and hours and hours. The only thing holding it back is a micro management problem. I would like to see the ability to import maps from the real world instead of procedural generated ones.

It allows me to create my own world and just to watch it move forward. I never used the campaigns, because the free game mode is so liberating. The goal is not just to create, but to create something perfectly, uniquely, efficiently, to see it grow.
It's my zen garden...a masterpiece with an upcoming sequel that brings more features the original needed.

If bad graphics aren't problem for you, just give it a chance, it's really good game, but I think it's better to buy it on sale.

The idea of the game is good to transport cargo, etc., but it is very upsetting that even at the minimum settings the computer is fiercely heated, and the game is lagging, it is rather poorly optimized, but I want to emphasize that over time new modes of transport appear and open up, but the lags of the game are only getting bigger over time

The game lacks AI-controlled competition (you’re alone on the map) and therefore is not as addictive as 22-year-old Transport Tycoon. [01/2017, p.41]

This is kinda weird. On one hand Transport Fever manages to improve an almost everything that was good on its predecessor. But on the other hand some of the weak points like the abysmal economic system remain untouched. But if you are into figuring out the best logistics route for a variety of goods and needs, this is definitely for you.

You will inevitably end up with a tangled web of lines, some of which are always operating at a loss, yet are necessary to keep the whole system running. It’ll take hours to think out and build this system, but it’s just so incredibly satisfying to look upon your empire and realize that yes, it works just as planned. [Issue#215, p.60]
