Great game for the price. The most fun I've had with multiplayer since Left 4 Dead. The singe player had enough modes, cars and tracks to keep me happy for a few hours.

The multiplayer mode in this game is the main appeal for me and it does not disappoint! just like the original micro machines, it is a great competitive multiplayer mode that can get very heated with my friends. Very frantic and lots of shouting.

The single player has some great levels, and the mode where you are chased by a giant wall of blue energy has that " just one more go" feel!

Awesome update of a retro classic.
Simple to pick up and play, single player is great fun with loads of challenges, old and new.
The blue wave mode is ace! Multiplayer however is where it's at. Play online. Play with friends or family on the sofa. Screams, shouts, taunts and goading are huge plus points for the multiplayer elimination experience, brilliant stuff. Can't recommend this

Can't recommend this enough. More of this please Codemasters. We need the toilet seat level! :)
It's like the old spectrum days of Codemasters. Low on cost high on FUN! :D

The tracks are well balanced, the camera follows the general direction of the race, it's a bit easier for new players to jump in and have fun... For 15€ here in France, it's a must have if you like quick sessions of play... A final word for the online mode, really stable and no lag so far... Totally worth the money for me, and perhaps the only game I own I'll gladly pay for DLC ... Expand

Genuinely the first game I've seen that legitimately picks up Micro Machines' crown. The art style is spot on - real childhood nostalgia, very much feels like a spiritual successor in terms of tone, but brought bang up to date with modern visuals. Handling's good, and although the single player starts out easy, it gets to a challenging level of fun pretty quickly. This is a great spiritual successor to micro machines V4, sad to see its so under known.Once I fired it up I HAD to complete every stage with 3 stars.Note: I'm using the Steam version and its very solid, constant fps, no crashes. The online mode is amazing and has almost no issues even with other players having high pings.

    Would recommend for everyone.

A brilliant hybrid of V3 and the classic Micromachines games. The car physics are top notch. The powerups are back to the one shot kills (like in V3) as opposed to the multiple shots required in V4 that Supersonic introduced. Music is jumpin and a modern take on the classic tunes. This gives the game about 10 minutes of replay value, once you fancy a change, you can't, all you can do is play Elimination over and over and over again.

This is of course not at all clear until you've bought the game and tried it out - nice move Codemasters.

I purchased the four man multipack through Steam so I could enjoy an easy to setup, easy to pickup game with friends which could entertain us for a short period in the early evening. This was never communicated through the marketing material and I can understand why it wouldn't be, who would want to market that your game has no replay value after playing it 10 times? I bought this game for the multiplayer but found it only has one game mode. Bored after 10 minutes of play. I hope future patches add more content otherwise it was a waste even at £8 odd.

If this was an Android or iOS title, available for ~£2.99 I would be over the moon! However, as this is instead masquerading as a 'proper' game at £11.99, and has 80% of the game modes removed from Multiplayer, I feel ripped off to say the least.
Massively disappointed, but then this is Codemasters, so I should have known better...

I´m playing it on the Rift and it´s a match made in heaven!
This all works so well together, absolutely flawless.
I wish I had a second DK2 to play together with someone in the same room.
    Great fun!

Game is decent. Fun on the screen even more fun in VR. I would say Game is worth 7 and +1 for VR implementation depending on camera settings it can even induce slight motion sickness. For some it might be better game than BlazeRush, but VR implementation in BlazeRush is way better.

Remember Micro Machines? That's what you see here, it's the same setting, the same gameplay, even the same developer.
Only the title is different because Codemasters wanted to distance themselves from the franchise and release a game under their own IP, or at least that's what I'm guessing happened. Whatever the plan was, looks like it didn't really work since a couple of years later they

Whatever the plan was, looks like it didn't really work since a couple of years later they went back to the Micro Machines trademark.

It is a pretty good game, though. It has everything a table-top racing game should have.
Plenty of creative and colorful stages, various toy cars to unlock and play with, many gameplay modes, and purposefully clunky controls.
It's very laid-back and simplistic, even bordering on being a mobile-type game (and progress being tied to a number of stars you gain in each level, like in a typical mobile title, definitely doesn't help that impression,) but if you're into that type of casual arcade racing and don't mind almost decade-old games, there's definitely plenty of fun to have here.

Quite a casual racing game, between Micromachines and Mario Kart. The few hours of play are enjoyable, but there is little challenge and absolutely no depth of gameplay. If you get it for one or two bucks or in a bundle, this can entertain you and your young children for a bit. But nothing beyond that.

What a cute fun game! It is like revolt or micro machines. It has great style and cars.

The thing is there is no quick race. It would be even better with that.

If you loved the old Micro Machines, Toybox Turbos is the title you've been waiting. Funny, competitive and graphically inspired, is only lacking in courage, not offering anything new compared to the original series which is deeply connected.

Toybox Turbos is a good game for beginners and newcomers to racing games. It presents an easy learning curve, but later levels can be a little more challenging. It's a lot of fun to play and in ways it may remind players of the Micro Machines toys and video games from the past.
