Apr 7, 2018With its own objectives, mechanics, and campaign end-goals, Rise of the Tomb Kings is the best DLC in the whole Total War: Warhammer franchise.
-
Feb 7, 2018The new faction brought by Rise of the Tomb Kings doesn't look like anything else in the game. It offers a unique playstyle, making this DLC one of the best in the series.

Jan 29, 2018I think the Rise of the Tomb Kings DLC is as successful as Norsca; it gives us a race who not only add re-playability to the original campaign, but bring their own flavour. The race-specific mechanics make their campaign feel unique, especially the lack of army upkeep, which pushes the boat out and will necessitate most Total War players rethinking their strategy. This is a good omen for the future of Total War: Warhammer 2. It shows us that even though the Mortal Empires campaign still needs work, that even though Norsca won’t be added till May, CA is still keeping what’s important in sight. They are sticking to their formula of race-specific mechanics, based on lore, to create a distinct playable experience. And I think Rise of the Tomb Kings is another example of that successful formula.

Jan 25, 2018In the end, Rise of the Tomb Kings is hands down the best DLC I’ve ever played for Total War: Warhammer. With a fantastic amount of themed changes and features, the DLC perfectly immerses players on the experience and genuinely creates the feeling of raising an once-majestic empire from the sands of time. It’s as it should be – Tomb Kings do not serve. We rule!
-
Jan 20, 2018This shift in the overall Total War mindset really makes the Tomb Kings expansion stand out. Instead of amassing all the territory you can to subdue and vanquish your enemies, the Tomb Kings feel more focused. It’s not about amassing a world empire, rather the Tomb Kings are about restoring the glory of their own empire and gaining the power they seek that way. As a result, the whole affair was shorter than my normal Total War campaigns, but it was one of the most satisfying campaigns I’ve had since the Shogun 2 days.

Jan 19, 2018Rise of the Tomb Kings is the best DLC Creative Assembly have released for Total War: Warhammer yet.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Apr 24, 2018A successful expansion for a great strategy game brings a very unique and unexplored faction that makes you wanna watch any Mummy movie again. [Issue#283]
-
Feb 18, 2018This is how the new faction should look like! Unusual, impressive, maybe just too strong. The campaign would deserve more care; however, titans, sphinxes and scorpions are an excellent addition.
-
Feb 1, 2018Quotation forthcoming.
-
Jan 30, 2018Rise of the Tomb Kings adds another worthwhile experience to the Total War Warhammer series. The gameplay of the DLC is well balanced in terms of features and units, although the add-on works better during Mortal Empires than the Great Vortex campaign.
-
Jan 28, 2018Rise of the Tomb Kings is one of the best DLC for Total War: WARHAMMER II.
-
Jan 22, 2018Rise of the Tomb Kings adds a good amount of new content to the original Total War: WARHAMMER II, including the fact that the new faction is playable in both the campaigns of the original game. Anyway, this DLC will probably be most appreciated by the fan of the expansion of the board game.
-
Jan 21, 2018Rise of the Tomb Kings is a much better format for adding new races than the Wood Elves or the Beastmen DLCs were.
-
Jan 19, 2018Not only does the DLC in question introduce special mechanics that will be metabolized by veterans, but it also marks the return of a somewhat more classic narrative campaign and therefore suitable for those who did not like the changes made by the Vortex Campaign.
-
Jan 19, 2018A good amount of new mechanics awaits you with the Tomb Kings expansion. Maybe the ticket is still too high for just one race, but the new campaign and all the new units may justify the price.

Jan 19, 2018The Tomb Kings are ultimately a great addition to Warhammer’s perpetually pissed-off factions, but their poor integration into the Vortex campaign suggests that Creative Assembly haven’t quite figured out how to add factions who don’t share the core participants’ objectives. Consider this, then, a slightly more emphatic recommendation if you’ve got access to the Mortal Empires sandbox, where everyone is competing in the same race to conquer the world.

Jan 23, 2018Rise of the Tomb Kings is a great first expansion for Total War: Warhammer II. Stepping away from the Eye of the Vortex campaign to embark on a book hunt is more than just a thematic shift, especially with the way in which the Tomb Kings can play on the campaign map, thanks to their free recruitment and only needing a modest empire to fill their armies with elite units.
