    There's very little positive to say about Warlords of New York. The rehashed New York environments are decent, and the story is your typical Tom Clancy affair. You're not here looking for a great story, and you're not going to get it. You're looking for third person cover shooting and magic treasure guns. You're looking for third person cover shooting and magic treasure guns. Unfortunately, the entire system behind equipment and itemization was gutted and replaced as of Warlords' release- even in the base game without purchasing the expansion.

    There's very little interesting character building left, and the most exciting pieces of exotic gear have been stripped to the bone and in some cases had their use cases completely altered. Two examples:
    - The Diamondback Rifle had an interlinked series of perks where nearby enemies would be highlighted, and your next shot against them would produce a guaranteed critical hit. Chaining five of these hits would disable the targeting system and grant unlimited crits and +50% reload speed for a short time. Reloading would generate a temporary armor shield. This gave it a unique playstyle where you would actively hunt specific targets with the extra mobility afforded by the shield, and then have moments of payoff where you could put out incredible damage and resist retaliation by putting up your shield even faster with the reload bonus. The Diamondback now only has the first portion of the ability- a random nearby target is highlighted for a critical, and that's it.
    - The Dodge City Gunslinger's Holster granted a suite of weapon handling buffs to your unlimited-ammo sidearm and quintupled its effective range. It also granted your sidearm over-penetrating rounds, reloaded your weapons when you drew your sidearm, and gave you a weapon damage buff when you landed a headshot kill with your sidearm. This made it attractive to a number of builds where you could use it to minimize reload times, maintain an additional damage multiplier, or just increase the efficiency of the usually-weak pistols if you were interested in using them heavily (such as with the riot shield skill). Now, it charges bonus damage for your next sidearm shot while your sidearm is holstered. It went from a pistol focused, weapon juggling item to a weak back-pocket damage burst that incentivizes you to use your pistol as little as possible.

    Skill mods no longer do anything useful- where they'd once cut cooldowns by half or increase the maximum target threshold of abilities, they're now confined to single digit percentage bumps to output that aren't worth the mental overhead of picking them up. Skills themselves also have enormously flawed base values- the striker assault drone is a great example, dealing such pitiful base damage that it takes roughly 30 seconds to deal the damage of a single semiautomatic rifle shot at base power, and a mere 10 with a completely maxed out set of skill damage and tier bonuses.

    Not only are the systems of Warlords of New York a woefully broken disaster, its coming retroactively removed the game that existed before it. You can't go back to playing The Division 2 without it, even if you never purchase the expansion. It's literally worse than having no release or content.    … Expand

    The Division 2 was a failure and Ubi's complete lack of understanding of what the players enjoyed and wanted from the first game. This DLC is nothing more than an attempt to tickle some nostalgic feelings except they imported the same nonsense that made this terrible to begin with.

    Aside from everything else, it's a game where there's a way to rely on skills. But it doesn't mean anything to the final boss. They themselves now seem to have no idea why they created an RPG-based shooting game. Now it seems that the only thing left is to get Ubisoft Massive to rest in peace.

    WONY is a trash expansion with practically zero content. Enjoy the new campaign that you can literally finish in less than 10 hours. Fake content in the form of SHD levels to try and keep the hamster brains entertained. Pointless events with no substance to them, a manhunt target that is just a bounty with no story. Assuming the events even work that is. Countless issues arise, broken setWONY is a trash expansion with practically zero content. It is generous for hacking users, but not for users who use bugs. Users suffer because of their poor development, but they only try to solve it with an apology.     Extremely poor game. Fully of bugs that the developers know about, but are slow to fix, if at all. No real endgame or meaningful loot progression. By now they have begun to punish the playerbase and ban players who use the many glitches, to at least get a little entertainment out of this mess, as if the poor coding was their fault. I'm done with Ubi and Massive.

    I play the first day of division 1 until 25th March 2020, and now I am done with this game. Worst server experience ever in any game I played, tons and tons of bugs which are always"working on it" . Endless cheating players that never get banned in pvp zone. Game crashes pretty often compares to other games I played.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I was so bothered by all the negative reviews that I created a Metacritic account just to post an opposing review. My real score for this game is about 7.5 for the PvE game. I rarely if ever engage in PvP.

    I have no idea what all the hatred is in the user reviews. Maybe on day one or month one there were bugs and game issues. However I never buy games when the first come out because #1, they are ludicrously overpriced, and #2, they are typically full of bugs that get worked out in the first few months.

    Overall, WONY is a solid addition to the already very solid Div2. The story is OK, pretty much more of The Division lore and expected storytelling. Graphics are awesome and sound is top notch. Gameplay is pretty stellar as well and in line with Div2 as far as pretty intuitive and seamless use of weapons, skills, and movement.

    Solo campaign length is adequate and rewarding with the new level 40 cap and SHD levels after that. I have seen others complain about how this "breaks" old items and builds and to some extent I agree. I spent way too much time in Div2 collecting gear sets and weapons that are instantly rendered obsolete in WONY. I'm OK with that as I'm a solo PvE player and rarely play in the DZ. I do enjoy co-op and I can't see how the changes in WONY break that in any way.

    Since I bought this game on sale and primarily play PvE, I am very pleased with it. If you paid full price on day one and have a different play style, your mileage may vary.    … Expand

    I've been playing Division 1 for 3 years and have survived infamous days like the 1.3 patch, but the current situation in Division 2 is beyond imagination.
    I couldn't figure out why the executives are making the same mistakes as in the past, aren't they learning from past failures?

Devs are constantly patching and tweaking the game, so i don´t understand the "devs don´t care" complaining when updates are regular.     MASSIVE made the game a total failure. the developers don't have ability to fix the game in timely manner, no willingness to listen to users in order to improve the game. What users of this game gets is a ban wave, just to make up the developers' stupidity and put anger on users.

Don't waste ur money here.

    OMG ! So much bugs ! Since the TU8, dude, there is almost half dozen of new bugs repported by the players every day. None is fixed. Devs look completely overwhelmed. Every week they try but systematicly fail. There so many bugs now that seems that it will be impossible to solve before a very verynlong time. I guess they will give up and try to sell a 3 episode instead... Whaow ! What aOMG ! So much bugs ! Since the TU8, dude, there is almost half dozen of new bugs repported by the players every day.     Same old game, with even more bugs and problems with each update. Inconsistent messages from development team post launch, and taking their failed programming and glitches out on the community by banning selected people, rolling back their progress (even if the glitch wasn't used). Even at $3, your time is best spent on something..literally anything...else.

But when u step out of the safe house to the open world you will realize that you are a piece of glass to those enemies if u run full red built (I set the world difficulty to challenging at first because I want better rewards). if u run a blue built, it will take you forever to kill ONE enemy. If you run a yellow built and it must be a good one, you will have a silightly easier game experience but you are also as fragile as glass. Your skills basically are one bullet from enemies. So why is this happening? Because in TU8 enemies have CRAZY amount of armors and damage. If you want to have a better built you will have to do everything in higher difficulty(which the situation are worse) to get better rewards(but even in heroic the rewards are 85% trash). I can take all of that no big deals at first because the update just came out, a lot of works and balancing needs to be done. On March 20th, I knew that there was a damage glitch in the game ( the glitch was there way before) that will provide you crazy amount of damage, i didn't try it at first because i knew there would be consequences. But then basically everyone around me started to use it, I became as one of them on March 26th. During this time Massive were patching these bugs almost every day. Everytime after a maintainance there were new glitches coming out, some of them you even upgraded for us that it's easier to do a damage glitch and stacking multiple talents to one weapon. You can do at least 100 million damage with ease and you can even revive enemies that are DEAD??!! It was hilarious at that time and i was having fun with my friends tbh. Then the penalty came all of those people ( including me) who were using these glitches are banned for 7 days, accounts will roll back to March 17th. I feel a little upset about the roll back but I understand it's not fair to those who didn't use them. But actuallt a lot of people who were not using glitches are banned as well, again, why is this happening? Massive said that we have millions of player base and those players who are banned are not even close to 50% of our player base. ..............Really? That's what you think? Are you counting those players who have left the game a long time ago? We are the only players love the game from the beginning. It took you 2 weeks to fix these glitches in game ( There are still glitches in game by the way) , you didn't even send a warning to all players that if you keep using it we will ban you??? You just went along with it. Most importantly, when are you going to fix the many actual bugs like revive hive and gear sets are not working as intended? So those bugs are not affecting game experience for your players? When are you going to do something about those cheaters who are using cheats to SLAUGHTER players in DZ??? I guess you don't have the ability to do that.
    I just read the upcoming changes on reddit, are you seriously gonna nerf those gears which YOU think are overpowered? DO YOU EVEN PLAY YOUR OWN GAME??!! If you do, please close locking armor and health bar first. TU8 came online without even went to a public test sever huh? You guys really need those money ASAP.
    Massive, just quit, otherwise alot of players will quit because of your actions and decisions. If you do want to get better, please take advices from your "millions of players base". Any normall and delicated player won't be able to understand how you run this ****. If you keep doing things like these, I don't even know what to say, just disapointment. Keep up your exaggerated confidence and poor managment. I will quit until Massive will do something about it. I hope DV2 players could agree with me and quit playing for a while if you want this community to be better(Just a suggestions), let Massvie see what we think and how we feel about the game.    … Expand

    Frustrating junk . I’ve been a loyal division player since the launch of the first game. Game is always bugged and the developers seem to be trying to remove the fun from the game. Now they are banning people instead of fixing the glitches. They have pushed me away from the game and I will never return to a Ubisoft or massive game again

    Beautiful graphics, nice story, so much to do and explore, would highly recommend to all actual gamers. These people who gave this game 0/10 are not actual gamers. They just want to waste their empty life on whining about games on internet. Sad people.

    Massive butchered every aspect of the game i liked. They did rework exotics into useless garbage, they removed and nerfed a lot of weapon and armor talents, very cool and unique builds just got deleted from the game.

    Balance is horrible, enemies have a lot of HP and armour and also very high damage, you can be killed in 2-3 shots, but for you to kill them you need to shoot 3-4 mags. Enemies with a shotgun can kill you across the map.
    Loot got streamlined and became very boring, build diversity is nonexistent. You're either play full red or full yellow. You're also punished by playing solo. Season are just lazy moneygrabbing scheme with meaningless rewards.
    Besides gameplay and balance issues, this DLC is a buggy mess, talents don't work in PvP, enemies can stuck in walls, revive hive is broken, a lot of sounds issues, missing textures, constant crashes. A lot of glitches, XP glitch, dps glitch, necro glitch etc.
    I don't recommend you to spend money on this game, it's not worth it. Even zero rating for this DLC is too much. Massive's game designers should be fired.    … Expand

    The Warlords of New York expansion not only added plenty of enjoyable content to The Division 2, but also sets up the foundations for all updates to follow. Anyone looking for more third person, loot and shoot gameplay will find plenty to enjoy here, with players new and old able to jump in and explore Lower Manhattan.

    Warlords of New York is a welcome addition to The Division 2 and it probably marks the most fun I’ve had with the series to date. While some content falls a little flat, each one of the special encounters is a manic and explosive experience that will bring you to the edge of your seat. The quality of life changes, including the refined loot systems, also breathe life back into one of last year’s more enjoyable looter-shooter titles.
