Best game ever. Ubisoft is the best, finally did an awesome job. Haven't donated any cent, and played for like 70+ hours.

Ghost Recon Breakpoint came out in 2019 with mediocre reviews and spoiled what we loved about Wildlands. But in 2021 it is a very solid, polished, and fun game. The story is well told and well acted and the gameplay is awesome with a huge map and good shooting mechanics. It is a shame it did not come out in this polished state it is in now as it might have done so much better.

Good graphics, decent story. tons of bugs in the beginning but they gave it lots of TLC and its getting ALOT better!!! The various bioms are nice. The new tech and buildings are so different from the slums of wildlands. They took away the abilities like calling in reinforcements and artillery etc :(

Episode 2 and 3 feel a little unnecessary and i wish they just combined the best elements of all 3 and made one great expansive campaign but it's still really fun just because of the great gameplay loop. Alot of the initial issues at release have been fixed and so much has been added that its almost an entirely new game. This is worth another go at playing and even though it took awhile and some issues remain this game has really come into its own and is something that will keep you engaged for dozens of hours. To be absolutely clear, Breakpoint as it released years ago deserved the scathing reviews it got. It was terrible, horribly implemented, buggy... It was a mess.

That being said, props need to be given to the team behind this game, because they have stuck with it and have made it one of my most played games over this past year since I picked it up along with the season pass. First and foremost, TURN OFF THE LEVELED LOOT SYSTEM. It adds nothing to the game. If you see any other review of this game from any point past early 2021 complaining about the leveled loot, disregard it completely because the author isn't smart enough to tie their shoes let alone write a game review.

Breakpoint is now one of the most enjoyable TPS games I've played since Wildlands, and although it's not perfect (the always online requirement on its own will ensure it never could be even close to top marks), it's good enough that I've put in over 115 hours.

I wish the AI was just a little bit smarter, but if you crank up the difficulty and turn off assists and make the HUD minimal, it can get extremely immersive. I'd almost call it one of the best tactical roleplaying games (if that makes sense to say) you can get on console.

The world designers at Ubisoft in my opinion never get enough credit: the island of Aurora is very well designed in my opinion, not just in how good the graphics are but in how logical the layout is and what facilities there are. It's like they hired an actual city planner to help them with developing a realistic layout, and what types of support facilities would be needed. Even with no civilians on the roads, the areas where they would be under the martial law the setting is under are brimming with life.

I have to give the developers props for the amount of customization you can do to your experience: you can change many aspects of the game, from how many or few helicopter patrols there are, how many drones you deal with, , how much or how little you want to interact with the survival mechanics , how many guns you can carry, if you have AI teammates or not, every single piece of the HUD can be toggled on or off and have its size changed... I've barely ever seen a game so customizable, experience wise. It's honestly remarkable.

With it being a live service game, they did several live events at certain points. One of the other toggles they added was the ability to set the "world state" to that live event. This is a really great way to make sure that no player misses out on any content that they released over the years, because they were substantial, changing the world map in several ways, from adding poison gas clouds across the island with a story to investigate, to the resistance movement finally going to all out war against the PMC, to even a crossover with the Terminator franchise that has Terminator robots invade.

The story is...Okay at best, but good enough for me to want to kill the bad guys, and honestly what more do you want from a Ghost Recon game? If you're buying the base game and coming from Wildlands, it's important to note that you will not be chasing down and destabilizing different provinces anymore. The base game only has a few missions where the goal is to take out a target, which honestly was disappointing as those were my favorite missions in the last game. However, upon starting the third chapter of the game every one of the objectives is to assassinate a target, which was implemented after player feedback to introduce more Wildlands-esque objectives.

That brings me to something else I need to mention: jumping right in, it can be very confusing to understand what's going on. Especially if you have the Season pass, all DLC expansions are displayed on the main map with barely any explanation as to what to play and in what order if you want to experience all content in chronological story order.

For clarity, play Chapter 1 missions first, then Chapter 2, then Chapter 3. It sounds simple enough, but when everything in thrown on the map at the same time, believe me, it gets a bit confusing, especially when you tack on the optional side missions.

Chapter 2 adds in several missions with Sam Fisher from Splinter Cell, which is pretty entertaining if you ignore the fact that Ubisoft still hasnt given us a damn Splinter Cell game in over a decade. You can turn on the world events I mentioned earlier at any time separately, and I did so at times in the story that I felt made sense (i.e. turning on the Resistance! world parameter after I did the rebellion quest chain up to a point where it would make sense they go to war).

All in all, Breakpoint is better than it's ever been. If you enjoyed Wildlands, and you can get all the content on sale like I did, there is no doubt in my mind you'll find many hours of enjoyment.

Especially the weapons in this game are great and I do love the snipers a lot.

With the latest updates the graphics are nice, 60fps feel great on the PS5. Loading times are not awesome but good. It is a bit sad that Ubisoft only did 1080p60 for the PS5. There surely must ve been more possible e.g. 1440p60 DRS. My biggest complaints with this game is the huge map. Even with fast traveling and helicopters you travel so much and also it destroys the great immersion the game offers. If the map would ve been smaller I think it would ve been very beneficial gameplay wise. Still there is much to do, the game runs flawless most of the time. I had some stuck-issues and some quests being stuck. Nothing too often or too bad, but it happened. The story itself is OKAY. Nothing innovative, nothing too deep but for a military strategical shooter it is fine.

The game can be bought as full edition for 15 to 20 bucks on a regular cycle. For this price the game is absolutely recommendable especially on new console generations. The game runs great, weapons are cool, gameplay is repetitive but fun. If you have at least a good buddy to play with the experience is VERY fun. For solo it is still valid but not as fun I feel. There are PVP options but it was not my turf so I skipped those options. I dropped around 100hrs for main missions, a lot of side stuff, special campaigns like Terminator etc.

The game is now very good since 18 months and it offers an open world, beautiful, with a multitude of approaches (infiltration? Parachute jump from helicopter? approach by boat? Capture an armored jeep with a Gatling gun for a frontal assault?), the possibility to customize your equipment, your outfit. The scenario is quite good and above all there are many missions that leave a lasting memory (ah! the infiltration of the fortress of Flycatcher!)

I can only recommend this game to a group of 4 friends who want a game with $15, full of possibilities, missions, and with such a choice of weapons/holdings/equipment that there is no need for micro-transactions (those are much less present than many games: Fifa & co). A big yes for this great game that deserves much better than 58 !

The "Project Titan" raid was released about a month after launch. I do not personally have experience with raids because I have no friends to co-op with.

Starting early in 2020, they released the Terminator DLC and later Deep State, and Red Patriot. In 2021, Amber Sky was released and features as a reward, one of my favorite assault rifles, the 4-AC. This thing is incredible with its accuracy, range, capacity, and sound. Disregard the negative description of "high recoil" because with ASR skills mastered, this thing is a laser.

The vehicles handle pretty well in the game although land vehicles are ridiculously unrealistic. A sedan that resembles a Cadillac that can climb the most rocky mountain cliffs isn't very sensible, but still fun. The helicopters are a joy to fly and very easy, the planes, not so much, but they are rarely necessary to pilot.

Co-op in the game is very fun. I only wish I knew more people that played so I could run with a 4-player team. As of this review, the game has a 2.9 User Score which is far off the mark for the game today. With all the other trash games out lately, players are returning to Breakpoint and even Wildlands to get their open world shooter fix. Don't dismiss these titles by the user scores here. Pick them up when they are on sale for around $9. You won't regret it.

It's by no means perfect, but if you're starved for tactical action, this might just scratch the itch. If you can pick this up for 12 bucks, I say why not, you might really be surprised. Also, I should add I'm no playing any MP in this game, just solo, and the AI is ok but you can really crank up the difficulty too if you want. Story wise, it's good, not oscar winning good but good nonetheless. Character customization is pretty good, you can create your own soldier from the ground up if you have the patience to gather the loot from around Auroa, that is. For fights, in immersive mode, the guns feel amazing, may it be assault rifles or Sniper rifles , everyone can find their satisfaction since enemies aren't bullet sponges. One thing tho, drones are super annoying to get, but once you find the right spot to shoot at, you can't be stopped when you have a good sniper rifle. One thing tho, there are no mildots for ranging target, so it becomes a real pain in the ass sometimes to compensate the bullet drop. This game is not GTA, it does feel like a mix of lot games, Metal Gear V when you unlock prisoners, sabotage the energy and the scenario itself, Assassin Creed when you hide in the grass, Just Cause when you explode things, Splinter Cell when you shoot the lights, little about the old Ghost recon.

The Graphics are amazing and full of detail, just too much, adn it's sharp, it has an option on PC, FX sharpening, the dust, sun, light feels all amazing in Ultra graphics.

The cons are the team incongruities with the AI enemy passing by them and not shooting them, they teletransport a lot, there's no much controls like a game like Arma 3 where you can do anything with your team,

The major problem of this game is the lack of challenge, idk because I started to play recently but even playing on Extreme it feels boring or too easy, it lacks more enemies and story line.

YES there is a story but it's too random too much of aleatory missions that doesn't fit to which other.

Now the CONCEPT is brilliant! Ghost recon there's plenty of potential. But a game lacking story-LINE, there is too much randomness,

    It's not a bad game it's a 7 above the average.

No, it's not worth a 10. But considering you have a bunch of retards giving a 0, without them even owning the game, it needs to be compensated.

I'd say 8/10. The gameworld is great, story is prettty interesting, gunplay feels good, character customisation is pretty decent. Anyone who likes open world tactical shooters, should take a look at this game. The gunsmith is a step back

The gunsmith is a step back from Wildlands, which already was a step back from Future Soldier.

As for the whole mtx **** every single weapon and attachement can be found ingame, for free. There is no pay to win what so ever. The only thing limited to the store are a handfull of cosmetics.

While we wait for the hopeful announcement of a new Splinter Cell game in the future, Tom Clancy’s fans will be happy to know that Breakpoint is actually fun, now. The new Ghost Mode solved many of the issues that plagued the original version, and while it isn’t fully healed from its painful stint as a non-Ghost Recon game, the latest entry in the franchise is trying its best to course-correct. If you are one of the many people who were put off by it at launch, I would recommend you try and give it a try now – just like the eponymous Group for Specialised Tactics, Ubisoft might yet turn this near-miss of the series’ breakpoint into a franchise victory.

Despite the occasionally lonely world and lacking interactivity, the rewarding and creative ways to complete missions make this FPS title a blast to play.

The super-soldier fantasy's lost beneath generic mechanisms for grinding. [Issue#139, p.108]
