Normally I don't like faster paced shooters, but this game was different to me. It was(at first) frustrating and unforgiving. I couldn't tell what was a bot and who could actually kill me. I didn't understand how to use the guns effectively or anything of that sort. To be honest, I was just about ready to put the game down and uninstall it out of frustration.

I didn't understand how to use the guns effectively or anything of that sort. To be honest, I was just about ready to put the game down and uninstall it out of frustration.
But first I decided to play the campaign. No, the campaign is not anything special, but I found it to be a good place to learn how to play. By the time I finished the campaign my frustrations were still there, but I was hooked and found myself doing really good. After passing the initial learning curve I began to notice differences between player and AI, fight multiple titans while on foot, and all that fun stuff that I saw players doing when I just started an wanted to flip a table because of it.
The idea behind the game was absolutely brilliant- pilot super soldiers who can call in heavy mechs fighting each other? Sign me up!
The execution was pretty good minus one issue- For a game literally built on multiplayer for $60 there is little to do. There is a handful of guns, mechs, and achievements to unlock. Doing all of that takes around 10 hours, and after that I was just playing just to make that poor new player's day miserable by smashing his face into the concrete a few dozen times. A game built on multiplayer needs something to progress towards that will take a long time if it plans to stay alive. This game is lacking that- and what worries me is that there is already talk of a sequel, meaning that there is not much intention to change that fact.
Regardless, there is a bit of a learning curve and a lack of content to unlock/progress towards, but I would take this over another AAA shooter almost any day. It is a good entry into the "next gen" and I hope to see it grow with time.

This game is one of the most enjoyable shooters I have played in years, when it comes to multiplayer. The titan gameplay is well executed and the dynamics that arise from playing as a pilot with a titan are fun and innovative. The game largely centers on death-match spin-offs, inlcuding a more strategic game mode in last titan standing. Last titan standing is a very refreshing mode to play because of how well it counterbalances the classic cod run and gun gameplay with the more deliberate and careful team-based gameplay this kind of titan-focused mode requires.

As far as the campaign goes, this game could have done a lot of really cool stuff with the campaign, showcasing more set-pieces and playing on competing objectives between teams. Unfortunately, the campaign really does not add much of anything to the experience. Then again, the game never was really advertised as having a campaign (it's existence was questionable prior to release). SO while the campaign is a bummer, I don't really see it as being a barrier to enjoying the core game in its more traditional game modes.

Lastly, the support for this game has been fantastic since launch. Respawn has released regular updates that improve and add to the game experience pro bono. The only thing they have charged for so far are the extra maps, which I have found to be well worth the money spent. The free content has ranged from titan insignias to matchmaking improvements to challenges to new game modes to a black market (FREE OF MICROTRANSACTIONS!!!!).

Overall I think this game is a solid shooter experience. It doesn't necessarily reinvent the wheel but it changes and adds just enough to make for a refreshing experience. Being someone who has not played a multiplayer shooter for any significant amount of time since CoD Modern Warfare 2, I generally do not play these kinds of games. This one just has enough innovative core gameplay elements to have kept me interested since launch.

First of all I want to congratulate Respawn for the perfect start of the game, I only saw one bug in the game for the first 2 weeks which surprised me and I was happy that we had a problem free release, not li other titles which I will not mention (CoD Ghosts, Battlefield 4). The game is fresh and dynamic, but nothing special.
This game does not cost 60€, it’s 30€ max. So we have small maps, that are static, some destruction would have been good, but a little and not Battlefield 4 level of destruction, because if we have no walls we can’t wallrun. Extremely small customization options which is an insult to players, 12 weapons with 3 attachments each from which you can only use 2, are you kidding me? Call of Crap Casper has more options than that. 3 of the maps are boring and are designed for campers, where you can just take a sniper and not day even once. The single player campaign is a joke, you play it and you have no idea who the characters are and the levels are with pre-determent outcomes: on one match of Hardpoint Domination we totally destroyed the other team with 400 to 0 and we lost….WTF? I had the luck to play on the single player with a clan of ninjas and we finished both campaigns in less than 2 hours, it was in the likes of an hour and a half. With titles like CoD and Battlefield on the market I don’t understand how could you publish this kind of a game and expect it to be competitive to the big titles. There was even a rumor that Titanfall will replace Battlefield…..that is BS. May be it could have and advantage over CoD, but that is only if Respawn introduce something mindblowing with the Season Pass.
That was the bad, now there are good thing about the game. Most of the maps are very well designed with breath taking backgrounds, I especially liked the one with the giant 4 legged animal which is fired upon buy a big ass turret. They are giving you more options in means of movement and stalking your enemies but not be able to camp in the corner like a little b*tch. The difference between the individual kits can actually be felt and seen, they are not just window dressing. And for the people that complain from the smart pistol….why don’t you guys try not dying for a change, because I’ve been on both ends of that gun and any good player will tell you that it’s not that easy to play with it and that is easy to avoid it, but if you have a brain. My advice, play 2-3 hours with the smart gun, see how it works and you will be able to avoid been killed buy it.
I give this game a 6, because it’s not a total loss, it has it’s good parts, if you are enthusiastic and want to play it go ahead and buy it, but not from Origin, because it’s not a 60€ game. Go online and get it from an alternate online store, where it’s discounted to 30-35€ max because that is the actual price of the game.

Titanfall was great for the first few rounds, then it started to lose it's whole essence for parkour and high-speed action with the lack of those elements throughout the maps, and it started to feel annoyingly frustrating how there was no system for choosing which maps you wanted to play on whatsoever, and the in-game story didn't help ruining my experience either. Although it's optional to play the campaign, and optional to go through the in-game dialogue for this so called "story", it still feels irritating playing through the campaign missions, and just listening to the background noise the story really is. There is practically no story in the game, and the underdeveloped side characters that pop-up on the right-hand side of your screen seem to irritate even more and more the more often they speak. If the game wasn't put out as a "super high-speed fps", maybe I would even have time to listen to what they were saying, but it just helped to play some standard multiplayer without going through the campaign. The in-game menu for choosing loadouts felt weak, and lifeless, and was definitely the most bland out of all the shooters I've ever played. Without having the ability to name loadouts, without a real way to choose which stages you wanted to play on, and without having a proper set of game modes, the game made me feel that it was rushed, and was only put out earlier, not to keep fans waiting. All of that aside, Titanfall gave me freedom in it's category on a such a new level of gameplay, when I actually jumped into the action without any errors in the loading screen, or trouble getting to actually play, it was hard not to marvel how much of a technological advancement this game was, and how it tries and succeed to revolutionize the fps genre. The weapons are very balanced out, and I feel like the balancing between man and machinery was spot-on, and it was a masterpiece to play through. Overall, Titanfall surprised me in one sense, but left me hanging, begging for more in another, this is a fun, fast paced game, and definitely is will not be a waste of money... If you don't care about background noise, and a silly loadout screen anyway... Expand

The game handles well mechanically it doesn't give you a deep experience like I would have hoped. There is a paper thin XP system for weapon progression, the game types are cookie cutter, and match making team balancing is laughable to the point of comedic value.

So let's talk about Mechs. They're the star of the show and all of the media after all right? Perhaps not so much. The differentiation is very minor and a little disappointing. That said I've recently been playing Hawken whose business is Mechs so I may be holding the standards too high to Titanfall.

While Titanfall tries to do some interesting things with burn cards and parkour it falls flat when in sustained value. When you take into consideration this is hyped to be an AAA title worth the $60 it simply should have delivered more to the plate.

I couldn't even play the game without crashing as much as 80 % of the time I played it. now I only crash like 15-20% of the time I play it now. maybe less. still consistent. But that is just a part of the heap of problems this game has. What's more it has ridicilous load times, which was recently even furthered by some patch meant to fix something else. Maybe it has to do with the ridicilous 50 gigabyte folder that you will have on your computer when installing this. maybe that's why it takes so long to load the right files. 50. gigabyte. Whereas 35 gigabyte (!) is uncompressed soundfiles, which of half is likely nonsense dialogue that nobody gives a damn about. The best game sound I've heard comes from the battlefield series, I dare say bad company 2 had the best sound in the series. and that was four years ago, and it still trumps this uncompressed sound. And that game is 8 gigabytes large. I can't say I've had much technical difficulties when I finally get into the game (besides crashing of course), so that's all good.

And then there's the gameplay aspect, ah yes. My first complaint would be the absolutely horrid matchmaking system. If you've ... say played a halo game online, you will know how this works pretty much (except some crucial differences I'll get to later). The likeness is in that when you lose a game, you will have to quit, because otherwise you will still get pit against the winning team of the last round, which consistently consists of much much much higher ranked people. people who have gotten as far as generation 3+ and beyond. So it's not much use staying there. And there the load times come in again. because you have to login to the main multiplayer menu for some reason, which would take 15 seconds or something. What is good, however is the gameplay, which gives you a regular shooter experience and also the opportunity to pilot a mech. All of this works well and is pretty well balanced. Except maybe that... if you use a gun without silencer you show up as a big dot on your enemies minimap. which kind of sucks, cause then you're likely gonna die. it even shows what height you are standing for your enemy. The guns feels more killzone than CoD strangely enough. Oh and the story is really uninspiring. Maybe this is worth it on a console, because it's not as poorly optimized there (I would not know).

There are 2 cool campaign Normany invasion style maps, other than that not much. After you finished campaign the only thing to do is play online and do the same thing over and over. There is some fun to be had. The action is fast paced, Titans bring a new element to the gameplay and Smart Pistol is an unique weapon that could be a lot of fun. But, honestly where is the rest of the game? Did EA really charge us 59.99 for this? I don't care if the DLCs coming up will make the game legendary. They lost their trust and reputation by holding back content so they can release it in a future DLC... that is the risk they take by doing that. The competitive feeling is absent because you are pretty much killing bots most of the time. Titan gameplay is pretty much shoot, kite and regen shield. The Titan upgrades that exist are not balanced at all. Some upgrades are useless while others are OP. Not even the main attraction; Titans, don't make it worth it. Little unlocks and it doesn't feel satisfying. The first thing I noticed about shooting a Titan is how unsatisfying it is. It's like they forgot the animations for taking direct damage. The only thing that signals damage is sparks and fire after a Titan loses x amount of health. Is this new gen or old gen?

I can't believe all these major reviews that gave this game such high marks. That's the only reason why I bought this game. I'm convinced a large percentage of those major reviewers are bribed by EA. There is nothing innovative about this game at all. It's a joke. Wall running is nothing new and it doesn't offer some new FPS mechanics... it's only used to get around places. Titans doesn't feel innovative as well. It basically feels like a BF4 tank that move faster, can punch and use other powers. I had more fun playing as a Mech in Natural Selection 2(which is an indie game that often goes on sale for $2 and is far and beyond better than Titanfall). This game doesn't change anything. It's just another over rated shooter that proclaims to be the next best thing. Unfortunately, you can see the greed of EA by the lack of content in this game. They want people to buy their season's pass. I learned my lesson, if it's by EA and offers a season's pass: DO NOT BUY IT.

It can be a fun game if you like fast paced action. The severe lack of content and unbalanced game play however, simply ruins the game for me. Not worth the full retail price. Wait for the game to go on sale or just don't buy it. I'm only giving this a 0 because there are way too many over rated reviews. I would have given it a 4. If you are put off with games that are repetitive and have no content than do not buy this.

Bottomline is game's not worth it. I know other successful games like TF2 you only kill stuff, but there is much more to do in TF2 and you don't get bored of it. The only thing you are doing in Titanfall is shoot stuff and call your lackluster titan. I regret buying this game. If I can stop even one person from buying this game then it makes writing this review worth it.

112 Minutes were spent playing (Which is merely fun-ish. By the way, the parkour isn't that useful- it requires your complete focus, and I always scored better when I just played like a normal FPS and mostly ignored the parkour aspects)

68 Minutes were spent WAITING to play. Over one hour of my time, that day, was spent WAITING. First, you WAIT for enough players, then you WAIT through a voice over explaining the mission, and then you WAIT (yes, even more waiting) through 30 second or so cut scenes that you watch over and over and over again. They stop being cool the third time you play the same map.

I could go on about the massive size (50GB), the ridiculous price point ($60-$80 USD), the poor optimization (34GB of uncompressed audio files, for example), the low quality graphics (10 year old engine), but as I said you can read a dozen of those here already.

If you want this game, make sure your OK with it WASTING so much of your TIME.

The graphics are not even last gen, they are 2004/05 at best. The gameplay feels clunky and the so called campaign is a joke. The AI is the worst I have experienced in many years. The only redeeming qualities of this game is the actual Titan concept. This has clearly been a copy and paste job like a sandwich with multiple spreads ripping ideas from Battlefield 2142 and shoving them into a Call of Duty universe / gameplay style. I can only give it a 3.00. Mainstream reviewers should be ashamed of themselves for praising this farce.

Let me start by saying that this game is hard for me to review because it is a good and bad game at the same time. First off, this game is an absolute blast to play. It is quite addicting and far better than Call of Duty ( sorry CoD fans, but it is a different game). The gameplay is fast paced and the level design has you think way more than the other FPS (so much so that other FPS gamesLet me start by saying that this game is hard for me to review because it is a good and bad game at the same time. The bots serve a great purpose so that a gamer like me, who hates competitive multiplayer shooters, survives and feels more comfortable going up against many seasoned players in the genre. Then comes the bad.

When it comes to online gamers, you meet cheaters and right now there are plenty. There is also a lack of modes and customization, which is a minor grip that I'm sure they will add as time goes on, with lovely micro transactions (sarcasm added).
This next con is probably why you won't buy the game... you try to get on and the servers are down or you can't find a group to play with for 2-5 minutes because you have to play with someone because it's an online-only game. You can't even do training without being online. They could have made an offline Bot Mode to pass your time as they fix problems with servers or just to train and feel comfortable with the game in a simulated environment. I am not mad at there not being a single player campaign, but to create a single player experience that could quench the thirst of playing in short time situations of life. Like... when you are in a rush, but you want to play a quick game before you go or plain old pausing to go to the bathroom would be nice. I do feel that the game is over priced due to lack of modes, offline options and with no word as to if they will add these things I would say if you don't get it now, don't get it. I'm not sure how long the community will last and without any sort of single player experience, there would be no way to come back and get a taste of what you remembered.

From the first trailer that was released for Titanfall, I had this excitement that we we're finally going to get something, in my mind, that was new and refreshing. And, for the most part, I can safely say that Respawn have not disappointed.

I've been playing the game on the PC for about 20 or so hours so far without any major problems or quirks. The gun play feels great and is extremely responsive, while also having a lot of variety in the types of weapons. You have the normal assortment of assault Rifles, Submachine Guns, DMRs, Sniper Rifles and the really cool S.M.A.R.T Pistol that locks onto enemies and guides the rounds into their targets. The Titan gameplay also feels really refined and this is where the game shines. The mix between Pilots and Titans during battles, even with the lower 6 v 6 player count, makes for some epic moments as you bail out of your doomed Titan while being fired upon from different directions, getting catapulted into the air and then trying to hide or return fire. I've had some pretty awe inspiring moments so far.

If we look at the overall graphical and audio quality of the game, things look and sound quite good. The graphics, though not state-of-the-art by any stretch, get the job done when it comes to details on the Pilots and Titans. Pilots have great looking armor and suits that pending you're using the Insane Texture settings, look absolutely amazing up close. The Titans also look great when it comes to texture quality but also in the animation department. The animations in the game look incredible with the Titans acting like super-sized soldiers, moving left to right with virtually zero stutters.

Now, overall you have to look at the big picture and look at what kind of value this game offers. First off, the game does not have a Single-player mode so for some of those single-player fans out there, you're out of luck. All of the "Story" features have been seamlessly integrated into the multiplayer in the "Campaign" mode which is simply a combination of different games modes and maps with an added narrative at the beginning and end of a match. Game modes range from Team Deathmatch (Attrition), CTF, Domination (Hardpoint) and a Last Titan Standing mode, each mode calling for a different play style to be successful. The multiplayer also integrates a feature called "Burn cards" which are one time use abilities that grant you weapons, speed boosts, armor boosts and whatnot. Finally, customization is definitely key in this game with familiar create-a-class features coming from the Call of Duty series included for both your Pilots and Titans.

To really sum it up quickly, if you're a big fast-paced multiplayer fan looking for something a little different, give Titanfall a shot. Unfortunately, there will also be the people that will see the lack of any other modes apart from the mutiplayer as a weakness and a problem for longevity and that is who the game won't be for.

It has a lot of maps but many of them just feel the same. The complete lack of game modes is a huge turnoff. It just feels like you can only play basically 3 modes on repeat. Being deathmatch, capture the flag, and capture the 3 points. After maybe 5 or 6 hours of game time I could already sense how fast this was going to get old. Also the leveling system is a dumbed down version of call of duty's system. Some might argue it's equivalent but that just makes it a carbon copy at best. Nothing really innovative with it. We won't even go in the "campaign" because that's not even real. It's some voice over work with the same 2 game modes on repeat, and it doesn't make any difference if you win or lose.

In the end the game lacks content. It's as simple as that. It feels as if they hyped it to an extreme and bought a lot of official reviews, because players everywhere just find it "ok". It comes off as either they are generating interest for Titanfall 2 or they plan to sell us all the actual content in DLC after charging us $60 to play 3 game modes for months. It doesn't have lasting appeal, and within 12 hours of purchase I had refunded my copy through origin. Take it as you will.

It's got the MOBA type enemies and the smart pistol for those who want a semi-PVE feeling experience. This is worse than when I was told that I would love Battlefront because there were Star Wars characters in it. Well those games sucked and just because there's robots and shooting doesn't mean this game was going to be good either, but I gave it a gamble anyway. Man I wish I was a console gamer and could take this back to GameStop for store credit.

This game is very fast paced and the fun is very limited to the times when you are enjoying your mechanical suit of armor and weapons. The trouble is, you only get to use the thing once or twice per match assuming you aren't killed on the way to your mech. You then spend the next three or four lives trying to make your way back across the enormous map to find your now half dead auto-fighting mech. If you do manage to get in your Titan the fun lasts at most a minute or two. Small enemies you can't see will destroy you while you work on the three or four guys from the other team who all got their's at the same time.

And don't get me started on the load times. Between the game cut scenes of Campaign to the load times and 90 second lobby wait you will spend most of your time waiting to play the game. Put on your patience cap and hope your "room mates" have good ping.

The leveling is worthless and the Burn cards are a joke. If I run faster it just means I get to die quicker. And even if the smart pistol is "smarter" it doesn't make it any more useful in a quick firefight with an actual human player. The Smart Pistol has got to be a joke by the game makers. It can kill instantly any grunt in the game. But any human with 2 feet can be impossible to lock on. And forget just shooting the thing like a gun, direct non-smart hits are like butterfly kisses. I get killed every time I round a corner and see another machine gun wielding player because no matter how many bullets I put into his head, it doesn't count if the little circle wasn't red.

Another side note. I have never once seen one of my grenades explode. I have thrown every grenade I have ever had in the game and never once did I see an explosion or kill or injure another person. I don't know what this can be attributed to but it was very disappointing. I was also unable to get the game to run at a decent framerate despite playing the game on an MSI GS70 Stealth on the lowest settings. At most the game pushed 25 FPS. The lag and jerkiness of the gameplay was at times unbearable, others acceptable, but never did it reach what I would call polished and playable. I intend on uninstalling this game after I finish writing this review. 49.99 GB is way too much space for this piece of garbage to eat up on my hard drive and I can't even get enjoyment out of my $59.99 purchase. It is a sad day.

The game barley has anything in the way of character customization, if multiplayer titles are the "future" you need to provide more content to warrant the purchase. I'd rather buy Battlefield 4 in the state that, that game has been in for the last 4 months than buy Titanfall. This game has been severely over-hyped, it really isn't that good, it's a mediocre shooter at best. …maybe I’m just really bad at these games…

Let me make this clear: If you don’t like competitive, twitch FPS like COD, then this won’t change your mind on the genre. Ground play is almost exactly like COD with the addition of wall running and double jumping. There really isn’t much more than that difference. I unloaded a full clip into someone that just shrugged it off and kicked me.

The kill cam showed I make only one hit, which is bull. This happens often.

The addition of AI grunts is nice, I suppose, but act as cannon fodder and add no real challenge. One previewer mention that Pilots and Grunts look the same, which they do. More than once I was killed by a pilot because he was grouped with a bunch of Grunts and I picked the wrong one to shoot. Farming them is supposed to make less skilled players feel useful, but only highlight the fact that I’m playing a multiplayer game, shooting AI that’s dumb. That doesn’t make me feel useful. I never used the auto pistol because it replaces your main weapon and I don’t want auto aim to help me. It just feels cheap.

Then there are the Titans, which adds a slightly new take on an old dynamic but it’s nothing not seen in Unreal Tournament, Halo, and Battlefield. They are essentially bipedal ā€œtanksā€ that deal large damage with rockets, chain or rail guns. There’re rather fragile but you get a chance to get a new one if it’s destroyed, which happens few times as the matches don’t last very long. You also get a chance to retreat to a drop ship if you fail, which is really the only cool ā€œnewā€ type of gameplay enhancement.

No single player, but I don’t knock it down for that. COD and BF always have a generic, boring single player that’s there to ā€œcheck the box.ā€ No one really buys these games for the single player and they’re easily forgotten after beating them. The Multiplayer Campaign is rather a joke, throwing in some extra cut screens before the match begins with some added chatter from NPC while you play and after the round has ended. No one really pays attention to the story and plays the match like it’s a standard multiplayer match. It’s even more worthless then single player games from COD and BF and should have been scrapped in favor a new mode or two.

Graphics on the PC are good, very much to the level of COD or BF but not above and beyond. Sound is very good as well, with everything sounding as it should with some nice chatter from the game to make you feel as if there was more going on around you.

The point is that everything feels like this could have been a new mode in an upcoming COD, sitting alongside of Zombie or Extinction. Nothing truly feels fresh or revolutionary. Nothing in the game gives anything to anyone that doesn’t have honed twitch reflects. Again, I may just be bad at games like this. Even so, it still didn’t change the fact I had no fun while playing. The Titans themselves, while cool at first, are a novelty that wears off after a few matches. They are nothing more than walking, bipedal tanks.

If you love COD and BF then your might enjoy this game. From what those types of players are says, it’s great. But if you don’t like twitch FPS or are burned out and the same rehashed and reused formula, then pass on this one.

Origin has the ā€œGreat Game Guaranteeā€ which allows you to play for 24 hours and return it for full price. So if you’re on the fence about it, buy it when you have a solid 12 hours to dedicate to the game and really see if you like it. If not, then return it for full refund. That’s what I did.

When I leave a match after getting stomped by these people, I get put right back into the same match as them! Matchmaking also takes way to long for some reason, and it never pairs you up with anyone fare. On top of that, the teams never scramble... meaning that the same people that you are first paired up with will be who you are stuck with - if you get a stacked team you keep it until people get bored and leave. You can only play 6x6 and nothing else.... there is NO single-player campaign at all. I always hated that about these types of games... that the single-player campaign is only a few hours long... well, this game doesn't even have one; it is just multiplayer matchups with some guy talking for 30 seconds - that's it. What really pushed me to write this review however, are the hackers. They are ridiculous and unavoidable. There is one in almost EVERY match! How can I play a game and enjoy it when I keep getting killed every two seconds by someone who can see me through walls or ALWAYS kills me with a headshot in one hit? When a team has titans, and the other does not, it becomes a really un-fair fight, the team with titans can just easily wipe out the other side 5. NO CUSTOMIZATION: if you were thinking you could color your titan with pink & rainbows with unicorns or whatever, you're wrong... I really don't know why they wouldn't let you do that, same with the pilots too 6. Large lack of game modes, theres only Team deathmatch (A.K.A Attrition), hardpoint domination (just standard domination), last titan standing (not even fun), and the "Variety pack" all this does is just switch up the gamemodes...

In the end, this game isn't worth the "Hype", or the $60... it should be a $20-$30 title...

I've never been one for the consoles to start with, i've always spent my money on my computer because PC outperforms every console out there. So when i heard that an XBOX One game was coming to the PC i was relatively excited, finally i could see what they hype was about. That game was Titanfall by Respawn Entertainment.

I have never been so dissappointed with a game in all my life.

To begin with, the price, £30 for what could have been a Free-to-play on Steam. There are other Multiplayer games, for example Loadout and the grandfather of Multiplayers, Team Fortress 2, which offer a wider variety of gameplay for absolutely nothing. So how can Respawn Entertainment possibly justify charging people this much for what is essentially a simple multiplayer?

The graphics are just not up to standard for a modern game, Crysis still looks better and it's a few years old now. Hell, even games that use the Unreal engine look better! And that brings me to a very important point. Why would you consider buying this game when Unreal Tournament 3 gives you a much better game experience? It has a wider variety of weaponry and vehicles, the graphics are just as good if not better, (think modern Gears of War games).

Those of you looking for a storyline, keep looking, this games' storyline is more bland than a tapioca and tofu salad. I mean, take Team Fortress 2, Valve proved that you can have an open ended Multiplayer that has an interesting and comical storyline to it and still be fun. I feel like i've been cheated by Respawn Entertainment, and then i realise that most of them worked on the Modern Warfare series, which isn't exactly a brilliant storyline.

So technically, it's not a fantastic game. But "aha!" i hear you say, "If people enjoy playing it then your review is null and void". And i'll admit for a couple of hours it is a fun game to play.

Emphasis on A COUPLE OF HOURS.

A game that costs upward of £30 should not keep someone occupied for just a couple of hours. Take Borderlands 2 for example, if you buy the Game of the Year edition today on Steam, it would cost you £34.99, slightly more expensive than Titanfall but so much more fun. To this day i have accumilated 453 hours of playtime on Borderlands 2 GOTY and i'm still playing it. Why? Because the storyline is immersive, gameplay is enjoyable and there is ALWAYS something new to do on there. Even The Orange Box, which has quite a few games on there can be picked up for £10 these days, and for people new to Valve games, it's exceptional value for money.

In a nutshell, this game is one of the biggest dissappointments in gaming that i have ever come across, equal to Bioshock 2, Crysis 3 and the Modern Warfare series. I would say, save your money, and invest in something slightly more enjoyable, i will NEVER be giving my money to those in Respawn Entertainment, who, for all their talents, can't even come up with an enjoyable multiplayer worth the 45GB (yes 45GB!) disk space.

Let me just burst your bubble if you got on the hype train for a revolutionary new instant COD killer, Titanfall is not it. For the better, as I learned from a few hours solid play upon release until feeling I have enough for this review to be honest and reliable.

First and foremost is the COD connection, this is the spiritual successor to Modern Warfare 2, made by about 39 of the 48 original Infinity Ward members if I recall the numbers correctly. It’s the vast majority of them at any rate. There are homages to the call of Duty's of yore everywhere for those that know how to look, from the zero recoil weapons that focus on action more than leading targets, to Martyrdom....yes people, they really love that perk. But you can actually dodge its Titanfall equivalents if you keep your head on a swivel. I'll leave the rest to you but needless to say you will feel right at home if you played MW1 and 2 before either got hacked to hell.

Now about not being a COD killer if it's the spiritual successor: Titanfall revolves around the dynamic between Titans, your killer robot on a permanent timer, and pilots, your player avatar. Titanfall is also a MOBA FPS, which may lead to confusion/frustration if you do not expect or understand this. To explain it briefly; You farm enemies called Grunts and Spectres for weapon unlocks, objective points and time off of the build time for your next titan. Grunts and Spectres cannot kill you if you have rudimentary motor skills and enough spatial awareness not to trip over thin air. They are not enemy AI but a resource that looks like enemy AI, and was poorly explained as such by Respawn.

On the player side, the permutations for players and titans have been stripped back to the archetypes. With this I mean that you do not have 12+ automatics with statistical and aesthetic differences but about 4+ with drastic differences between them. Think of any stock FPS weapon from the accurate, hard hitting semi-automatic to the instant kill heavy sniper rifle, and you will find it here. The problem is that many players will not understand or accept this. I myself am an advocate of avoiding needless fluff as has come to dominate the genre, but the customization options in Titanfall are simply too anaemic. There are no cammo options for example and only basic male/female gender options. You will find nothing to make your avatar feel unique or your gun feel like there are many like but that one is yours.

Similarly the game modes are TDM, Domination and hybrids between the two (as I class CTF). The most popular FPS modes to be sure, but a very thin selection nonetheless. Nothing imaginative here. Frankly I find the graphics to be very acceptable, If you want to have the most cutting edge, rig melting graphics out there titanfall will disappoint you. It's use of the source engine guarantees it to have a good chance of running on a potato though. And it's very lovely on a rig with ample grunt. Of particular note is the amount of detail present and the massive diversity of animations. The game looks very good on a maxed out rig like mine, much better than any recent COD game. Though I realise that is not exactly setting the bar high.

The single greatest selling point, and why I would recommend this game personally is that it is fun. Think to yourself for a moment about how many FPS games have been fun to you recently. I for one feel as if Titanfall is a shooter which has had liposuction. All the useless crap meant to make you needlessly grind for days to get what you want is gone, but so are the customization options that people actually enjoy a lot and the game mode variety they have come to expect. If domination and team death match are modes you love then Titanfall effectively offers you the zenith of them. The map design is excellent all around and there are 15 in the base game. The gameplay is very well balanced due to the small selection of weapons and the three titans Stryder (mobility) Atlas (balance) and Ogre (tank) fulfil their respective roles without either being horribly overpowered.

now about the plot: You are a soldier is the service of Captain Admiral something or other, whom is in a marital dispute with his husband of 15-20 years (couldn’t hear over the gunfire), Rebel leader Monologue Mc.Gruffvoice. C3PO's douchy brother keeps talking about reactors overheating, making it abundantly clear that there is some serious sexual tension here. You are effectively tools in their weird military S&M game where they try to dominate one another's hard points. There's also giant robots falling from the sky, because it makes it hotter. Many violence, much shoot,

The game pretty much is strictly multiplayer with a story line going on in the background if you play campaign to get the other titan chasis for customization. Think about a MW3 with 4 times larger maps with less variety of guns and no perks no stun no flash no Killstreaks no weapon customization(well there is some but not sure why it is there? did they decided to abandon it and leave it as this?). There are mech robots called "Titans" witch are nothing compared to assault drone in MW3. Game has parkour which is not better than CS1.6 surf maps. You don't need to do it, but you can (WHY should anyone run on the walls without a reason?). AAAAND minions, clueless, poor bots waiting all around the map to be slain by you in an instant. Here is more or less what you will find in even if you play more than 5000 hours: Round starts, go go go do some wall running slay some minions. some guys started to get their titans and doing some strange "titan wars" which you will experience in a minute. Titan falls go and embark. find another titan (don't worry it is somewhere nearby) then shoot him while he is shooting you. You can punch him every now and then for a change and shoot shoot shoot and got shot and his titan doomed he ejected, this cycle continues until yours is doomed too then you eject and farm some minions and new titan ready and this goes on. You will call titan avarage of 2 to 4 times in a round of Hardpoint and attrition (pretty soon other modes will be dead) then one team loses you try to interfere their evac then it is all over. Nothing different will ever happen even if you play for a year without a break. No teamplay is needed, a little bit individual skill is enough (for pilot not titan) No decision matters. -A max of 6v6 players per match.
    -Requires Origin to run.
    -Average graphics.

My summary of titanfall is that it is the best Playstation 2 game I have ever played. There are better everything right now out there, especially for PC.

Purely a 1st person multiplayer shooter, with a slight twist. Not much strategy, 100% reflex. Waste of time if you're not from a third world country and paid 2 cents an hour to play a game all day and be a pro-robot at it.

I really never felt like I was playing COD but I was in some futuristic world jumping 50 feet in the air doing all kinds of crazy fun stuff , like battle giant mechs and pulling off some crazy kill moves , like ripping some one out of there titan and tossing them away like trash..

That's not to say the game is perfect because its not. The story mode is a complete joke. For a Online only game I expected a bit more. Yeah 15 maps are great but that's right around the bare bones min when you consider this is a online game and should have had 20 or maybe even 25 when you are pricing this at $60. also game modes... it needs more of them. the ones it has are great and all but why not add a 16 vs 16 mode or a 32 vs 32 mode just for some crazy fun.

The amount of gear and wepons and skills you get are pretty good and they all feel like the belong in the game. Over it is fun but I would not say worth $60 as is. There is just not enough content in it to justify the $60 price tag. If it was say $30 or $40 I'd say sure get it.

I don't see my self playing this months from now but I do see myself enjoying it for the time I do play it before it gets old to me. Its not a game I see having a long lasting appeal for some people.

Very few unlocks for both Pilots and Titans. The campaign has a story which I still don't have a clue what is going on in after playing the same campaign missions over and over again... something about betrayal? I dunno, they play the cut scenes while you are in game and defending control points so your eyes and ears are too busy focusing on the game.

The gameplay itself is very solid and addictive, it's smooth as butter and movement across the map coupled with firefights between both mechs and pilots just flows so naturally. Unfortunately the good points end there. There is simply not enough content here to afford it's price tag, and I am very saddened to see the season pass already up on Origin... It is fun, and quite a thrilling experience for the first 4 hours. But I started playing it this evening, and in that amount of time I feel like I have seen the top and bottom of what the game has to offer.

If the season pass was just an upcoming content update for the game then perhaps it could be classified as a full game. As it stands it is painstakingly obvious that the game was put together and someone said "wait a minute, take this weapon, that weapon, and that map out, stick them in a bundle and sell them seperately!" It's a bit of a cash grab coasting off mass hype. I would recommend waiting it out for a month or so, a price drop is very likely once the hype dies down and people start seeing it for what it is.

I really do like the gameplay, but the mechanics are nothing new, it really is a mish-mash of COD and Hawken. It's great to have the two games co-existing in one game, but the game somehow has about half the content of each seperately.

I want to love this game, but it needs more stuff to be a viable purchase for someone looking for something that will entertain them for more than one evening

If you played the beta and found yourself growing weary of the 2 same maps and limited classes and unlocks then you should be warned, the real deal really doesn't add much more than you saw in the beta!

In comparison to other shooters on the market, Titanfall seriously lacks content; weapons, upgrades, maps, etc...
Net code is buggy and you constantly have problems getting and maintaining a connection to Origin, which disconnects you from an actual game. The biggest negative in this game is the lack of actual human players in MULTIPLAYER. Multiplayer is half stuffed with retarded bots that add nothing meaningful to the game. Clearly they made this decision to work within dire limitations in the engine (and their scheduled ship dates). To NOT have a single player, then to put bots in multiplayer is a conjob on a grand scale.

If you are new to shooters, you will find this game fun for a few hours, but if you are an experienced shooter, this game will have you feeling played/hustled. One of the wort shooters I've every purchased.

Where BF is kinda stuck in a more hardcore, tactical, clunky and "realistic" approach, Titanfall is more focused on fun which I think is a good thing. Also unlocking everything via playing is doable unlike BF where you pretty much have to buy DLC to get all of the stuff. The sci-fi setting is nice. What I like less is that players can sometimes be very hard to shoot since they move extraordinarily fast which I think is annoying in an FPS. Also for example hardpoint capture mode is a bit counterintuitive since you can't capture most of the hardpoints while in a Titan. A real single player campaign would have been nice, but I don't regret my purchase. And I bought it at european pricing which is 55€, $76.

This game could have easily went with Valve and adopted the ability for user-made content to be readily available but they didn't. They are likely instead going to charge you for all the maps they make despite there being thousands of free maps for every source engine game on the Steam workshop or FPSbananana.com.

Even the campaign offers you no break from the repetition of this game as it's simply a multiplayer match with a bit of scenic action.

To conclude, I'm quite sure you'll enjoy this game but you will grow bored of it and your playtime will not go far beyond 500 hours if you can even make it there.

Titanfall is a fast paced, exhilarating and enjoyable multiplayer experience that takes classic hallmarks of the genre and brings them into a new and exciting modern day title that excels in several key areas. With Call of Duty becoming increasingly stale and Battlefield struggling with persistent issues; this game is a great alternative in a very competitive sector.

Firstly, the engine and controls are absolutely magnificent. These allow for frantic and fast paced gameplay, the likes we all saw and loved in Unreal Tournament and Quake. Anything and everything on the fantastic and varied maps can be scaled in seconds. You can wall run, jump from pillar to post and land on your feet without fall damage. It's incredible fun darting round and matches are often extremely fast and furious. Camping is almost non-existent in this game and if you see someone lurking around a rooftop, they can be got at in seconds with the flawless and fluid controls and map design. The guns and bullet detection is also of an amazing standard. The infrastructure of the menus and general presentation is easy to navigate and mimics that of COD which may seem a negative but it's actually beautifully put together and designed.

The typical modes that you expect are all there from Attrition (TDM) to Hardpoint Domination (DOM) and CTF. There is also Last Titan Standing along with Pilot Hunter which is titans v titans and a TDM variant that focuses on PVP point scoring. The playlist may seem small but the key gametypes matter more than 'novelty' modes which has plagued COD.

Titans are the main part of this game and although I prefer the pilot gameplay; these don't disappoint. The mech aspect is enormously enjoyable and brutal to other players on the ground. The controls are easy and the weapons are spectacular. This adds a new dimension to the game and against other titans; it also adds to the battle on a substantial level.

There are a few negatives with this product though and my biggest concern is the player count. 6v6+bots is a problem. I can see why the count has been reduced to incorporate the titans but this has a hugely negative impact the pilot gameplay overall. The bots offer nothing in combat and are just like recruit bots on COD. The gameplay becomes somewhat discredited. It ups the ante when titans are spawned but it's far too sparse at times with just foot pilots. Large kill totals with other players is a rare and at times frustrating occurrence. Shooting bots isn't very satisfying either. The campaign is also a total disaster. It's played in the multiplayer experience with fellow players in matches at the same point as you. The story played across both sides is extremely hard to follow and very weak indeed. A completely pointless addition for a MP game only.

The game also feels very bare at times with a distinct lack of guns, unlocks and depth. The price is very steep although the season pass is very respectable.

Overall, Titanfall is a great game but is let down in a few areas that matter. It's huge fun with some stunning design and production standards but this doesn't quite have the depth and staying power that games like these in the genre require. I'd happily give this a 9 for now but I fear this could go down in a few months as keeping me engaged in this product may prove tricky in the long run with its lack of features and limited lobbies. Time will tell but credit due to Respawn for now at least. A great alternative .

Beyond that. The game has moments of fun but it just feels like a shallow shooter with little to no depth. You play a VERY CoD like shooter but with jet pack jumping then now and then you get a mech to use if you choose. The weapons are very few to choose from but cover all normal types of guns, a assault rifle, a LMG and DMR like gun, a sniper rifle. There is only one of each however.

The game doesn't feel worth 60 bucks. 50 would be pushing it. As another user posted, there are free to play games that offer better value and substance.

That's fine for a single-player campaign, but multiplayer on PCs needs options to keep people interested.

Matchmaking in this version is horrendous. Day one, I was up against level 40+ players in my first match.

Next time, just give me the single-player campaign. The "Campaign as Multiplayer" concept seems really great on paper, but it just doesn't work out too well in practice. The story of the game seems to take place completely in the background. You and your fellow players basically serve as diversions to allow the major characters time to do whatever it is they're doing to advance the plotline.

That said, the game is still pretty fun to play. It's a well-done shooter, and it plays smoothly. The downsides are just making it such that I don't really feel like loading the game up anymore.

Another thing is the campaign that includes online people, I defiantly thought this would be a downfall and lead it to be less imersive. But its not, I mean the game inst really going to played with campaign in mind, but its still there and still fun.

People say that the graphics were not there but when you have everything maxed out, which inst that hard for a system to do, it looks like a great game. Plus your not even focusing on how good it looks when your having so much fun in online matches.

Just everything about this game is amazing, I like many other thought it would fall under another COD type of game play and the same old same old but seriously I was wrong there.

    Some downfalls (though not many)
-50 freaking GB download size... this was due to uncompressed audio which in some cases could be put under a positive because on weaker systems, not having to constantly uncompress audio could really give you more power.

-Load times are a bit of an issue, I mean you wait a bit to get into a lobby that is full of players, then you wait 80 seconds for the game to start, and then you wait another 30 seconds. but its just a minor thing.

Overall, this has probably got to be one of the best games I've purchased and would defiantly recommend it.

That being said though, the gameplay mechanics are executed masterfully, and the fluidity of movement and the flow of the maps is top notch. I've played quite a few "mech" games and never before has map traversal been so enjoyable as what they managed to pull off here. I never get hung up on objects while in a titan, and yet the maps are anything but flat, and for that I have to congratulate the designers. Also, the game is frantic, but I rarely feel frustrated while playing, unlike something like crysis 3 multiplayer which also has a blistering pace, but is maddening to play. The graphics are actually really pretty when you max everything out on PC, and even with the settings cranked, FRAPS rarely shows a dip between 120fps which makes it look glorious on my 144Hz display. Yes, there aren't a million weapons, but I think the gadgets and weapons can be combined in enough unique ways to fit all of the different play styles you'd want anyway. I'd actually rather have this than the clutter of similar weapons in a game like Battlefield 4, and unlike that game, yes there are some guns that are better than others, but they all seem to be balanced quite well. The titans feel powerful, but the pilots are certainly not to be taken lightly and the method of balancing the titan vs pilot gameplay is actually really clever. It's not something like Halo 4 where pretty much any weapon makes vehicles seem useless, and it's also not like some other games where the vehicles blow everyone away. I was hesitant to buy this game because the internet has shown nothing but disappointment, but I have to say I've been really pleasantly surprised and I hope the servers stay full. The fact that there isn't a single player campaign isn't a big deal, and I"m not sure why so many people have an issue with that. How many people actually replay campaigns in COD, or BF4 more than once? And when they play them, people just complain about the poor quality of the campaign anyway so I personally don't miss it. I think this game is brilliant, the amount of loadout customization they allow you to have is fantastic, it's just SO so smooth to play, and the maps are all completely different and I think they look great. I think more people need to take another look at this game, because it really is highly underrated in my opinion. If you haven't played it but are bashing it anyway..... stop doing that, sink 8-10 hours into it to get a feel for it, and then we'll talk. Expand

Grunts in Attrition are a step in the right direction, but I think the idea is squandered in other game modes. I also wouldn't mind seeing more weapons/ items as well as some new game modes (the latter of which have been promised as free DLC). Lastly, I do have some complaints about the current state of the PC port of Titanfall. Despite promises of an upcoming patch since the launch of the game, it is still locked at 60FPS and does not support multi-GPU systems. While the game does run fine on a single GPU, those of us with 120hz or higher displays would like to utilize the full horsepower of our systems.

You’ll be killing five times more bots than humans and this never sits quite right.
Titans are a blast to command and dash around the map in. You’ll crush AI bots like you just walked over ants and punch jumping players into red mist. Titans are powerful, and this is glorious for a short time. But when one team has 4 or more, the other team has a serious problem. The core mechanics are wonderful but near impossible to actually balance without jeopardizing what makes it so good. Titanfall also floods you with action and challenges while pressuring you back into combat. For that reason it can get tiring, but never boring. Its best played in short stints and struggles to provide long term enjoyment that you might expect from an online shooter.

Gameplay is brilliant both as a pilot where you run all over the map, wallrun, chain walljumps, use ziplines and rodeo enemy titans and as a titan where you blast your way through any encountered enemy. Titans work somewhat like killstreaks in CoD, but you get them even if you play very poorly, thus being better for casual players (with good score you get them faster).
There is also a completely FRESH MECHANIC OF BURN CARDS which is an interesting idea, you get cards for playing matches that you can use (up to 3 per match) and they grant you for example a superior weapon, infinite grenades and similar stuff. Is it good ? Well, it replaces CoD killstreaks but honestly I prefer the killstreaks, it's just way more satisfying even if you get them rarer.
Matches are only 6v6, but this is imo not an issue, as both sides get a lot of NPC grunts that serve as a targets for faster titan acquisition (sort of a crutch for weak players) and you generally get a lot of action, and thanks to NPCs even if it's clearly not your day you still feel powerful by slaughtering foot soldiers and hearing them scream in ave as they see you fight "Holy s...t did you just see what that pilot did !?". Their AI is basic and they are a pushover but still I think they fit well in Titanfall.
Maps are numerous (about a dozen) and well-designed, though they do not feel unique and are similar to each other, so it's a mixed score for the maps. Complete lack of destructibility is a shame too, as it would work so well with giant titans on the battlefield.
Sadly, the important thing that is player customization is non-existant (can only select gender), and the pool of weapons, perks and equipment is about 1/2 of any modern CoD/Battlefield game. This could have been done better. IT GETS STALE QUICKLY, much faster than let's say CoD, I have 200+ hours in Black Ops II whereas I have about 1/4 of that in Titanfall because THERE ISN'T ENOUGH CONTENT !
My second BIG PROBLEM with this game is LACK OF SINGLE PLAYER. Campaign COULD have been awesome, with all these mechs and alien creatures (totally scripted) we encounter on the maps, and those giant ships exploding around (scripted of course) you really missed a great opportunity there.
WARNING there is a thing called ONLINE CAMPAIGN but it SUCKS COMPLETELY those are just regular matches with scripted scenes and some dialogues running during the game but they're not even good voice actors there.
Yet still, you dare charging full price for this ! Come on you sc..bags, that's downright greedy !
So you want 60 $ for you game and then 40 $ for a season pass, but you don't even care to make solid amount of guns, single player or co-op ? *Sigh*

Should you buy this ? Yes if you're a multiplayer-focused FPS Player tired with BF and CoD serving you same stuff every year but be prepared for the lack of single player.

A really solid game that mixes single with multiplayer, Hawken with Mirror's Edge and the Battlefield teamwork with CoD's lone wolf gameplay to create a really interesting hybrid. The 30€ price is very reasonable, the action is cinematic, the tutorials are obnoxiously complete and both engine and gameplay are solid, fun and satisfying. A recommended purchase.

No single player, evidently no way to setup a bot match for practice, no way to block users you don't wish to play with, GIGANTIC download and obnoxiously large install footprint because the developers feel that you need 30 GB of uncompressed sound effects in foreign languages... this game wasn't made with my demographic in mind, so to me it isn't even worth the $10 I spent to buy it on sale.

This game would have been an AMAZING rental.

was great for a week and now I haven't touched it since, I have tried going back in a month later just to keep being placed on a team of lvl 1-8 against teams of lvl 48-55. Yea, I don't feel like feeding the other team over and over.. does this happen once or twice? Nope.. like every flipping game where I usually end up with carrying my team

Is the over all game fun, sure! I do like the titan combat and the pilot jumping is pretty cool.

Its basically a series of multiplayer matches with names and a few cutscenes here and there. The storyline has been done so many times (examples: Borderlands 2, the movie: Elysium) and if that wasn't bad enough, it only takes you through 2 different game modes. Secondly: the content. I understand if they were trying to make a mainly multiplayer FPS, but the amount of content included is just sad. There are 15 maps, 5 game modes, and only 50 levels to go through. There is, however, a prestige system, which allows you (once you've reached lvl 50) to restart. This does absolutely nothing for you, except you level up faster this time around, and you get a lame little USB looking thing next to your name with the amount of times you've prestiged on it. All and all, Titanfall is an amazing concept. Its just short on content. Expand

Great FPS. Graphics a nice...lots of special effects...and the level of fun playing is unmatched by others FPS due to the versatility of this game.
The game can have some improvements on the multiplayer side related to find friends and connecting to other players and balancing the teams.
    Great title.!!!

However, the abundance of 10/10 reviews are completely unwarranted -- And not to mention suspicious. Most of these posters have 1 review. one. For Titanfall... And many of them read suspiciously similar. But I digress.

    The bad:

The major detraction of this game is its complete lack of content and misleading advertisement of a (nearly non existent) "campaign" which amounts to little more than a voice over during the pre-drop portion of the map. Otherwise it is the exact same as the MP. A measly three titans with no aesthetic customization and bare bones weapon/perk customization leaves a lot to be desired. The vanilla map rotation gets real old real quick as there simply are just not enough maps. A grand total of three Titans makes you wonder what exactly they spent their time doing. Surely it was not refining the concept and story. Over priced DLC and a a season-pass plan that are down right unscrupulous considering how LITTLE this game came with considering its 60 dollar pricetag. But this is a matter of opinion, and for many, not really a negative aspect.

The titans themselves are okay. Although I'm not sure that the various classes of chassis (heavy, medium, light) actually have enough of a role to change their functionality. They basically all do the same things, have the same weapons, etc. Ultimately the differences come down to maneuverability and the differences in maneuverability between the three are negligible at best.

The grahpics, I personally feel, are just fine, however many have cited this as something they take issue with. I believe this mostly has to do with the "next gen" tagline. I'm not sure what people expected in terms of graphical fidelity, but this seems fine to me. Some of the textures are grainy up close, but whatever. I can live with that. The truth is, the graphics are about where I expected them to be for a "next gen" console -- As a PC gamer, perhaps it is more forgivable as I realize "nextgen console" is really a "last gen PC".

    The good:

The maps that are there are well designed for both pilots and titans, textures and graphics are decent (although many were disappointed when they heard that they were supposed to be "next gen" -- Unfortunately "next gen" consoles ultimately are the equivalent of "last gen" for PC's.)

The gun play handles similarly to any CoD title you've ever played, making it accessible and fun.

the "parkour" is great fun and adds another element to the typical shooter experience. Although perhaps not as innovative as Max Payne's "bullet time" system, it is, nonetheless, a nice change from your typical modern day / not so distant future shooter.

Ripping pilots out of their titan with your own to finish them, is, quite simply, totally awesome. Although I do wish there were more animations for different styles of finishing moves. I also quite enjoy ripping the arm off the enemy titan and beating him to "death" with. it.

Gameplay is like Crysis meets BF4. You even have a cloak, which, doesn't really cloak. You can still see and target the individual you wish to kill. Titan concept is really neat, makes it fun for any skill level playing. I bought this game thinking there was a PvE element to it. Leaving out key features to save on production cost to churn out a sub par product is not "revolutionizing gameplay".

    Graphics: 8
Not bad, but not BF4. Also using steam really limits your graphical capability due to it being more CPU then GPU dependent in alot of fields. Regardless it has solid graphics. Some issues with optimization whereas a computer that can run BF4 on high can't run this on high But with a $1500 like mine I don't really have issues.(would hope not)

    Gameplay: 8
It is essentially everything you have seen before with some extra seasoning. I genuinely love how vast paced it can get sometimes, especially with stim and capture the flag. And the titans add a whole new depth to the gameplay. Hearing your titan roaring down from the sky is both gratifying, and just plain cool. It makes being out in the open as a pilot terrifying. It's also awesome watching the little npcs have their squads massacred and see one pulling another to safety. (hehehehehe~)

    Sound: 9
Very solid sound design in my opinion. The gun sounds feel satisfying(especially while in the titan) And everything feels consistent. No sound feels out of place and creates a very intense battlefield.

    Content: 6
It comes with a few maps to begin with. But this really feels bare-bones content wise. Would have really liked a few more maps, and a better thought out story, and more game modes. I give it a six because the content they do have is done well(excluding the story)

    Overall: 7/10
I would recommend it to anyone I know, but if you are low on budget I might suggest another title over paying full price for this one. But if it is on sale, You should really give it a try.

PC version: Could have been an awesome game, unfortunately the matchmaking (at least as of update 4) is still terrible, and AI do not fill in for the missing pilots. Waiting 20 minutes for a match that then ends up being 2 vs 6 is so disappointing.

Decent game, with good graphics, and the goods stops there, Matchmaking sucks, (matchmaking for PC games should not even exist in the first place) AutoAim sucks, (yep autoaim) those who start the game with a controller have autoaim enabled. so even if you hide 4 feet away from a window and the autoaim guy shoots at the said window, the bullet will hit you in the face. I was waiting for a game that would blow me away and break the oligopoly of Battlefield and Call of Duty. Here it is. Titanfall shows that online shooting does not have to be confined to contemporary battlegrounds. [05/2014, p.42]

In the mind-boggling question that tortures world's biggest gaming studios (how to refresh the competitive FPS genreĀ), Respawn answers by taking the Call of Duty core, enhancing it with elements from various sources and franchises (Mech games, Crysis , Tribes, Mirror's Edge etc.) and forging it in the Old School mold (Quake/Unreal Tournament) . Titanfall does not innovate. It manages, however, to leave a fresh taste by balancing nicely all components of its gameplay.

Titanfall is a highly entertaining online shooter, but it's a bit light on content for a full priced game. You quickly start to realize that Titanfall could desperately use more maps, more unlockables, more upgrades and more customization. [Apr 2014]
