Gameplay: 8, Graphics: 7, Content: 6. This game fun and engaging combat is the selling point, and that it, the graphics look outdated in 2014 and the has almost no content, it make you feel like you just being robbed when you pay 60$ for this game

Good multiplayer game with a very primitive single company ...and with "full project's price" ...and the ubiquitous seasonal stuffing.

First and foremost, if you get this for multiplayer, is better to look elsewhere. Extremely promising at first, it gets horrid after a while.
Anyway, i got this game because Angry Joe recommended it. I don't regret it, but ONLY because the campaign. It doesn't have a good story, plot wise, and is quite short (more like an introduction to the MP part) but it has BT7274. The bond was real.

After the campaign is finished you only have the MP.
    - multiplayer is fast paced (read hectic).
    - plenty of weapons to chose from (whit no real difference between them)
    - plethora of skins for pilots and titans, but not many models.
    - HITBOX is the size of Pentagon. Check the kill cams on YouTube game-play videos. Basically you shoot left, and you kill right. It may work well for you, but works just as well for the enemy.

I bought Titanfall and Titanfall2. I will not buy any Titanfall games, but i would buy a game from Relic Entertainment, provide it is not multiplayer based. They failed me twice, not going to try one of their MP recipes again.

The game is good I've no problem with that, there is no servers on release that is unacceptable from EA. That source engine is **** as well, nowhere near the graphics of CRYSIS 3 or Battlefield 1. Those are my 2 gripes with the game other than that its a fantastic.

Titanfall was only a 7/10 game for me. It was one of those many overrated games which looks far better than it plays. The biggest problem I had with it was that half of the load out options seemed useless so there was not enough variation.

I paid $10, and at that it's a great deal. Definitely don't pay more than $20. There's no single-player, so no way to practice on improving. There are often few players on the server, so you're stuck between a handful of absolute newbs, and cheaters/hackers/over-leveled trolls who are so good at the game, you never have a chance. If this sounds like the challenge you want, go ahead and buy. Expand

This game is Online Versus Only.
Not worth buying until price reach 29.99 USD.
Only good part is New Gameplay unlike Most Shooters nowdays.
Season Pass DLCs are worth since Filesize is 600MB-Upwards not Pay to unlock key.

Well if you want an honest review read this. I notice most people are giving this huge negative scores or perfect 10s and neither is fare nor is it accurate. Well if you want an honest review read this. I notice most people are giving this huge negative scores or perfect 10s and neither is fare nor is it accurate. I am going to divide this review into three segments. Visuals/ art style/ music, functionality of the game which includes combat/ matchmaking/controls/bugs and finally the story/ character element of the game.

Starting out one thing that i noticed about titanfall is that it is visually impressive. The detail in the environment the mech suits and even the pilots are all amazing. and The music is good but nothing to tear your hair out about. and the voice overs for the Titans are very well done and you have a large selection of them. All of this helps immerse you in this world and make you believe that you really are a friggin bad ass pilot who walks around messing stuff up.The visual representation is where this game shines.

Now the functionality of the game is a mixed bag and it definitely has its issues. First off the controls are very responsive when you are a titan or pilot. i never have a problem with getting it to do what i want it to. The parkour system while done well here is nothing new. It has just been improved in a huge way in this game. Now when you are playing in pilot mode it is a twitch/ call of duty shooter with parkour elements. This honestly i think is a sad edition to the game. I was really expecting a more halfway point in between halo and call of duty but this is a personal preference of mine. Now the customization at first seems very good when you first create a class but in practice it is almost the same customization load outs that you have in call of duty modern 2 with one exception. The burn card system is where this innovates the customization. By doing challenges you lock appropriate burn cards for the challenges you complete. You are able to expend these in game to get significant boosts to your next spawn. . But again this is a nice addition but it is a minor one that people over emphasize. Now you can not significantly customize the look of your character. all you receive is a look based on the type of weapon and gender. Next we have the addition of mobs of very poor infantry added. Now the only thing infantry does is a way to rack up points so you can win. this to me is sad it makes it not feel like a real battle but more a shooting gallery where you occasionally meet a pilot and have a real firefight. Now matchmaking is a big pain. I constantly get paired with people much more experienced than me and get wiped off the floor. not only that but when people drop it doesn't replace them in a timely well balanced manner. The game is only 6v6 so having two people leave which happens often makes your entire match not enjoyable. Next we have crashes. The game is not usually buggy but it does crash often. It wasnt so often that i would rage but often enough that it annoyed me. The last thing i will mention is the fact that there are still cheap tactics in this game just like any call of duty game. There is satchel throwing bunny hopping madness. And you can run your titan into the middle of everything and self destruct it. But by far the worst thing is the smart pistol. Now starting out the smart pistol is a good way to ease the learning curve by auto locking and shooting enemies. But when you upgrade it and/or amp it up it becomes the cheapest killing weapon in the game.Out of everything i mentioned probably the worst is matchmaking because sometimes it makes the game unplayable.

Story. This section is going to be short because guess what! there is a story but it is so crappy so painful to grind through its not even worth going into the various missions and characters there are. basically you join a multiplayer story mission. you get a small usually really bad (except for the first one with the space battle) cut scene and then some order on whats going on. Then throughout the mission you have random people that you dont know or care about screaming about stuff you dont care about. And further more the game makes you play through these two unlock the limited two out of three titans.

The final verdict on this game is that it is unfinished. Many people give it terrible scores for some of its frustrating flaws or absolutely amazing scores because of potential. But in the end both are unfair. I quickly got bored of this game because of the lack of story and the frustration with the game so after ten hours i was done. But really they could have done so much more. you only have 3 titans around ,10 guns and no space battle missions also a crappy story. and for everything it tries to innovates it is held back by still sticking to its call of duty standard. So if you want a few hours of mech madness that is enjoyable but unpolished then buy this game. it is actually well worth the price at 20 bucks. But you will get bored. and sometimes frustrated. and you will tear your hair out at the squandered potential.

And the campaign is not really a campaign, so nevermind. And I am proud to see that the team tried to make something to compete with CoD and Battlefield. Honestly, CoD has been sucking for 6 or 7 years, and Battlefield is becoming a lazy franchise. We need some competition to improve the quality of the genre, but Titanfall falls short. So, to sum it up... Yes, it is really fun, but is worth half of its price, primarily because it gets old, really fast. Get if for something like $30 or $40 and you won't regret it. Expand

The game itself I find very fun and exhilarating to play with smooth, fast-paced action. I'd give it a ten if it wasn't for the smart pistol. It's completely overpowered and really damages the game for me, as it is not only extremely easy to use, but is also usually a one hit kill once you've been fully locked on to (which takes about a second, less if using enhanced aiming).

It's a real shame that this gun exists, or is at least as powerful as it is. Equate it to the P90 in counterstrike, or the LMGs in CoD 4, and you'll know what I mean. Terrible.

Playing the game reminds me a lot of Call of Duty, which some small changes. Now before I get into my review i think the gamestyle of COD has been over used and the formula has not been changed at all between the 6 games that they have released. Each game has added some small additions, but the core gameplay has stayed the same, which i believe is a downfall of a multiplayer game.

The Titanfall gameplay pulls heavily from its predecessor, but does attempt to be different. Movement (walking and running) feels about the same and combat feels exactly the same. Moving though the buildings though feels new, being able to jetpack jump and easily grab onto ledges and windows to pull yourself in feels great. Wall running feels fluent and straight out of a Prince of Persia game. Titan movement and combat feels somewhat unique in its own way. They make the guns feel more powerful but a bit more clunky but still easy to use. Movement feels right in the titan, replacing jump with a dash to quickly move out of combat. Huge buildings will be your best friend for cover.

Now lets talk about the pros of this game. Games are played 6v6 on huge maps, which seems like it would be a downfall and kill the pacing of the game, but different types of AI are added in as sort of a buffer to keep the pace correct and the action going. You will see drop pods for Marines and Spectre which you will be able to kill and in the case of Spectres take control of. This gives it the illusion of being huge games but with keeping the titan limit of 12 down. To call your titan down you will need to wait for your bar to fill up or get kills/objectives to fill up the bar quickly. The maps of the most part all feel balanced and correctly paced. The combat feels CODish but still enjoyable.

Now for the cons. Getting the game day one, being able to finish the campaign (the campaign is a joke) was fairly easy. I quickly blew through both sides. Two of my friends got the game about a month late for a discounted price and we tried to play thought the campaign to get all the titans unlocked for them, but it was brutal. People would leave and the game would reset you back to the start even though you were 4 or 5 missions in. This makes it very difficult to complete one let alone both sides. Took several weeks but we were able to finish it. That being said can I ask a totally legitimate question, why even bother with the campaign? You play the same game types on the same levels with some cheesy voice acting that you will not even pay attention to. Why play it then? Because you have to play them at least once to unlock all the titans for the custom load-outs. I cant even image people who get the game 8 months late what they are going though to try to complete this.

Next would be the price. Respawn entertainment told everyone before the game was released that it was MULTIPLAYER ONLY, so no one (including myself) should complain about what you get, but i just wish it was released with a lower price tag, especially since it was reduced about a month after launch to $45 i believe. The game would of been a lot more popular if it was released day one with a lower price tag. The game also suffers from DLCitious, having (as far as i know) only maps that you can purchase.

Finally the huge thing that holds this game back from ever being competitive would be the burn cards. These cards are random and give you special perks somewhat like COD kill streaks. You can equip 3 of these pregame and use them one at a time at the start of the game or between spawns.

Overall the game is fun and i enjoyed the time that i put into the game, but i wish i had waited till the price tag would of dropped. The game has some flaws and the package is a bit small for the hefty $60 price tag but for 20 dollars less it could be a great game. If they were to release a Titanfall 2 i would buy and play it, but not day one for $60. I hope they learn from what they did incorrect here and exclude those things in the followup game and improve on what they did right.

Titanfall an FPS with a MOB'a twist. Is it fun yes but is it anything new from CoD? Not really.
The guys that did CoD now try a different spin on the FPS with a more vertical take and with mechs/titans. It's fun for the first 3-4 hours bet then you realize that the game doesn't offer that much.
Low amount of guns and upgrades, only three titans and technically no single-player campaign.

The first time I've played the game I just felt like a CoD game but little bit better. Smooth jumping, lot of killing and boom Titan. After a while you see that there are not that many modes of play, your pick of weapons, kits and ordnance is very limited and you ask your self where did all the time and money go?
Game has potential maybe for Titanfall 2 but I think people still need a good single-player experience for the money they pay. Multi-player is good but beside of killing mobs it's nothing new in a FPS.

There's some VO going on while you're technically playing a MP game, so I'm not even bothering to pay attention to what it's saying because some 13 year old kid is successfully p0wning me.

Titan concept is really neat, makes it fun for any skill level playing. I bought this game thinking there was a PvE element to it. Leaving out key features to save on production cost to churn out a sub par product is not "revolutionizing gameplay".

I wouldn't say Titanfall is a bad game, but it does harness every issue that the Call Of Duty games do, the spawns are spotty and the gun balance is off.(Certain weapons are much better in terms of accuracy and power than others, it is as simple as that) But aside from that, Titanfall can be very fun at times, the mix between titan and pilot combat is very satisfying. BUT that being said,I wouldn't say Titanfall is a bad game, but it does harness every issue that the Call Of Duty games do, the spawns are spotty and the gun balance is off.(Certain weapons are much better in terms of accuracy and power than others, it is as simple as that) But aside from that, Titanfall can be very fun at times, the mix between titan and pilot combat is very satisfying. BUT that being said, because of the nature of the parkour system, it makes the pilot on pilot combat incredibly clunky, you will both be bunny hopping around seeing who can hipfire who first, it just feel like dumb luck will win you that battle, this seems significantly more difficult with a controller, which if you are playing the PC version puts you at a huge disadvantage as you literally cannot jump, shoot and aim at the same time, whereas people playing with a mouse and keyboard can. BUT this isn't that big of an issue , it is just incredibly clunky and frustrating when it happens. The issue I have is the content, or the lack thereof, for a multi-player only game you'd expect this game to have a TON of content. Well it has a lot of maps, about 15 with the base game, that is a lot of maps, but maps aren't the issue, the issue is the lack of any other content, there are about 11 main class weapons, which really isn't many, then 3 anit titan weapons and 6 titan weapons. Overall that is 21 weapons, it seems like a lot, but it really isn't. Call Of Duty Black Ops 2(Which ISN'T an MP only game may I add) has over 30 PRIMARY weapons and 6 secondaries. Titanfall has no real weapon customization either, aside from maybe 2-3 attachments, I mean c'mon guys, it isn't 2007 anymore, in CoD 4 this was okay, because it set the standard for all future games, but it just feels like we've gone back in time, In-fact CoD 4 actually had more attachments per weapon than Titanfall does AND it had visual weapon unlocks. AGAIN Titanfall is a MP ONLY GAME The game itself isn't bad but it just becomes incredibly boring because of the lack of thnigs to unlock and things to do, after you've unlocked the SMG, you have NO reason to wait for other unlocks, because they DON'T get any better from this point. Titanfall could have been the amazing return of the MW guys, but unfortunately they spent 4 years working on an excellent concept to fall short because of a lack of content Expand

Firstly let me make a quick summary that that I feel towards this game: it is flawed, but in un-enjoyable. I simply did not personally enjoy it that much.

I simply did not like Titanfall for 1 reason: the absurdly non-existent amount of content that was released with the game. Titanfall is a game that is by no means mechanically void or unpolished - quite the opposite. The game is amazingly well polished, has a lot of great varied mechanics that just make you want to play the game - but sometimes it feels like there is no game to be played.

There are several weapons for both the titans and the pilot, several perks, attachments and few upgrades. But really, in a shooter which is multiplayer focused, lacking any real singleplayer campaign, it is simply a joke. Games like Call of Duty not only provide arguably fun single player experiences, but the multiplayer thrives because it has so much complexity and customization added to it. If you took out single player out of CoD and left it with MP + Zombies, or even MP alone, it would still work. Because MP is already complete. Titanfall simply feels incomplete. It seems like Respawn stuck to adding one weapon for a given weapon type, such as 1 burst rifle, 1 semi-auto rifle etc. It's nice, but not enough.

Talking about the "campaign", it's just dreadful. It's basically multiplayer matches but with some voice overs added. I guess it works fine since it's in a multiplayer game and it doesn't interfere with MP gameplay, but then, what the hell is the point of even including it in the game? It just feels lackluster, like they stiched it on in the last second "just cause". In the end I found it annoying because I had to play the stupid campaign 3 times to get all the titans, normally 2, but the game glitched out and didn't count my playthrough. I just wanted to get it over and done with so I could get my titan - it was just painful.

The game also came with a reasonable number of maps, and they were very well designed and fit for purpose. They were also fun due to the AI soldier killing which servers as a secondary objective in the game, and it's great because it also kills the filler time in between the big fights with pilots and titans.

In the end, I didn't really enjoy titanfall. For all the fun that I had in the game, I had just as much displeasure of playing the game. On top of that, the game certainly does not live up to its price tag - in any way, shape or form. Some people looking for some monday night thrills would certainly enjoy the game, but I personally did not enjoy it at points. But I have to give it to them, the game is VERY polished. I did not even find a single bug in the game and the game ran silky smooth.

Decent game, with good graphics, and the goods stops there, Matchmaking sucks, (matchmaking for PC games should not even exist in the first place) AutoAim sucks, (yep autoaim) those who start the game with a controller have autoaim enabled. so even if you hide 4 feet away from a window and the autoaim guy shoots at the said window, the bullet will hit you in the face. what else, no mods support, this means you need to fork extra $$$ to get those stupid DLC's Only 6 VS 6 in a brand new game !!!! WTF is that ! and dont get me started on those bots that are good for nothing except really aim your fire at real players.

Simply put: CLEARLY COD WITH LESS PLAYERS, MORE WORTHLESS AI GRUNTS, AND ROBOTS THAT ARE OP AGAINST SOLDIERS AND WEAK AGAINST EACH OTHER OFFENSIVELY BUT OP DEFENSIVELY.

And, worse of all... BORING! Little to none infantry attention from developers, few weapons, ONLY 1 SHOTGUN, and on PC 54GB OF SOUND FILES???????? WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUUU.... I had to create a folder through CMD that

I had to create a folder through CMD that exists in my OTHER HDD but the PC understands as if it were in my SSD... because 54GB as an excuse for allowing people with dual core CPUs to play better IS THE MOST RETARDED THING I'VE HEARD.

IF YOU HAVE A DUAL CORE PC YOU SHOULDN'T EVEN BE PLAYING THIS GAME. PERIOD!!!!!!

While it is fun at first, it quickly becomes repetitive and dull with titans slaughtering ground units and cornering each other against other Titans... and it feels more like an adventure hunting game for other PCs, as you will kill and encounter grunts for 80-90% of the time. Seriously, this is next gen...

THE PS3 HAD GAMES WITH 264 PLAYERS....or 64 idk BUT 12 PLAYER PER MATCH IS RIDICULOUS...
ON PC, WHERE WE CAN AND SHOULD HAVE LARGE SCALE BATTLES AND **** STORMING AND GOING DOWN! Sad really... sad.

And the fact this doesn't even have a single player AND has to player through CRAP ORIGIN and STILL GETTING PERFECT SCORES AND EXCELLENT RATING IS PATHETIC!

IGN: Believe the Hype... MY ASS!

    Final Verdict:
If you are willing to search online outside of origin and big name retailers for a bargain deal on titanfall, and FIND IT FOR LESS THAN $25 I'd still be cautious with your money... this game is a dangerous precedent for gaming everywhere.... CRITICS AND US ARE CLAIMING THESE **** FOR GIVING US LESS AND NO CAMPAIGN WHILE STILL CHARGING $60+.... WHAT THE ****

Dont buy it really, it is forgettable and repetitive.

PC version: Could have been an awesome game, unfortunately the matchmaking (at least as of update 4) is still terrible, and AI do not fill in for the missing pilots. Waiting 20 minutes for a match that then ends up being 2 vs 6 is so disappointing.

As I sit at my keyboard I am overwhelmed with many great things about this game. However it's difficult to give it a solid score because they clearly cut so many corners to rush it out on the market. Is it asking a lot to include an actual campaign mode? Not everyone wants to be pushed into a matchmaking session every time they pick up the controller. It's clear they had a lot of great ideas when it comes to controls and game play. It's just unfortunate that they couldn't keep that train going. It just feels as though they gave up 3/4 of the way through development. I don't know if they were rushed to get it onto the market or if this is actually what they envisioned the final product looking like. Either way it's like going out with a hot chick. You're willing to overlook many things at first because of the visuals but at the end of the day when you're laying in bed talking you quickly realize there is nothing beneath the surface...and that my friend is a bummer. 6/10 Expand

Call of Duty: Mechanical Warfare. Feels like Call of Duty in every aspect. I enjoy the free-running and the mech combat, but it just doesn't separate this game from the worn-out franchise.

It would have been worthy if the price was 20 euros.
    -Boring
    -Bad textures
    -Repetitive
    -No further innovation
-A dreadful quantity of guns and maps
-Im not paying 10$ for a horrible dlc. I wouldnt even pay 30 for the base game an all its dlcs...

Had to be EA.... **** you EA

This game is fun for a while, but then it gets boring and sometimes frustrating.
Too much of the same, it needs more variety and a single player mode.

I was waiting for a game that would blow me away and break the oligopoly of Battlefield and Call of Duty. Here it is. Titanfall shows that online shooting does not have to be confined to contemporary battlegrounds. [05/2014, p.42]

In the mind-boggling question that tortures world's biggest gaming studios (how to refresh the competitive FPS genreĀ), Respawn answers by taking the Call of Duty core, enhancing it with elements from various sources and franchises (Mech games, Crysis , Tribes, Mirror's Edge etc.) and forging it in the Old School mold (Quake/Unreal Tournament) . Titanfall does not innovate. It manages, however, to leave a fresh taste by balancing nicely all components of its gameplay.

Titanfall is a highly entertaining online shooter, but it's a bit light on content for a full priced game. You quickly start to realize that Titanfall could desperately use more maps, more unlockables, more upgrades and more customization. [Apr 2014]
