The singleplayer story was excellent, with good map design and gameplay. The character development was... ok for the most part with the interactions between pilot and titan being the highlight for me. One of the better campaigns i've played in quite some time, but only 5 hours of gameplay it is relatively short, which leaves you with multiplayer.

Graphics are good, they are nice with good detail on most surfaces and some nice effects to boot on some of the weapons, but it lacks any real shader work, which is surprising when the singleplayer looked much better, with more atmosphere, creating the titanfall universe to great effect, disappointing as the multiplayer is all bright and well lit losing all of that atmosphere, meaning it has nothing on other shooters like BF1 or COD:IW but acceptable for a 2016 title neither the less.

Sound, good overall, having a good sound with weighty titan footsteps to jet boosters of pilots, music is good in the singleplayer campaign but pretty lacking in multiplayer but the commentary throughout each match was entertaining. Weapons have a great sounds and some beafy kick too with shotguns and LMG's feeling badass and satisfying. nothing is really stand outish in this area imho, it plays the part but theres no sounds which are really remember-able.

Gameplay again is ok, nothing special here with a lot of the time it being entertaining and interesting, partly to do with match types and partly to do with map design. titan vs titan is particularly boring thought as titans are made out of soft cheese spread this time so you'll be corner peeking all match, if you don't you'll be toast in 7 seconds flat. Because of the map design a lot of the time the game doesn't play smoothly in the sense that there is no fludity to the combat it's slowed right down from TF1 and made it too tactical, forget run and gun with super fast action, prepare to be shot in the back by someone hiding in a corner cloaked, it's boring, it's dumb. Respawn missed the opportunity for larger maps and more players, which the singleplayer story showed to be epic and fun. Unfortunately this isn't TF1+ it's an imposter.

Maps are lacking real strategy with you either hanging back or getting funnelled into a killzone. Some of the them lack any real design with a few street blocks with a handful of directions to go, others are far too open and a sniper fest. Frankly this is the biggest hangup as it's boring after an hour, as there is a small selection and none of them are really fun.

Netcode, frankly shocking, i've checked everything on my end bearing in mind i have no problems on any other titles (cod,bf1,bf4,overwatch,etc.), the amount of times the killcam is different from what happened beforehand it is truely eyebrow raising, or when you melee someone in the back nothing happens so you try a few more times only for them to appear behind you and kill you, it's insulting, frustrating and quite frankly poor. there is little lag spikes you can see as a jitter or animations stutter for a second, these happen far too often and ruin any fun or fairness you expect from a title. On top of this sometimes there is no weapon sound until after your dead. you'll see the animations but you'll get no audio feedback so unless your looking at your attacker you get gibbed in silence. Online play is broken as far as i'm concerned with many deaths being completely out of your control.

I did contact Respawn entertainment who have completely ignored me, which from past experience means there is an issue. When I've contacted other companies about there games with issues you get a response to solve that issue, Respawn are playing dumb so it seems to me there is very much an issue and there keeping quiet and hoping the positive reception is outweighing those of us suffering.

It has been confirmed that there are a few hacks going about, but Respawn is aware and hopefully fixing very soon,

    Conclusion

If you like singleplayer stories buy it, it's a great story, it's fun, exciting and has some great set pieces.
    However
If you want it for multiplayer, buy it as it as good as either COD or BF1 or Overwatch. There all polished titles, but with better netcode at this time.

As someone who loved the original i'm upset, the netcode is iffy at the moment and the hacks are present. this isn't the titanfall 2 people wanted. This was supposed to have been bigger budgeted with better maps, more titans, more players in a match, with everything polished and refined. Making it a true competitor to COD and BF1, however the netcode does require looking at, I will change this review if the patch changes any of my above statements.

    MINUS 4
Balance issues. There is this confusing setup of easy to use and hard to use weapons that results in overplayed and underplayed weapons - respectively. The former are easy-to-use hitscan weapons and the latter are weapons with a projectile speed. As this game is a fast paced shooter, the former set of weapons is set to exploit the game's playstyle. As for titans, low-skill-ceiling and high-skill-ceiling titans make for a more restricted list of practical-use titans. This is no place for a casual or the uncommon man. The metas in this game are horribly cancerous. Overall, this makes the game feel part "Wow, I'm using what barely else uses and I am doing decent!" or "Man, this game is a waste of my time and entertainment." This makes matches feel boring in the loadout-selection sense.

Take that away, and the game becomes uniquely fast paced and fun to play. The campaign is above average in a FPS and the no-division DLC plan is a winner.

    Overall score - 6/10
I would pay 40 (Out of 60) dollars for this game on or before launch day, with $60 being the perfect game. I rate this game according to how much I felt if it was worth my time and my 'blender' concept.

Titanfall 2 single player is the real highlight of the game. Due to the fact that it was missing in the first one the single player was fun although short. The updates they have done in regarding the multiplayer have been great.

Clearly they have embraced the feedback on Titanfall 1 and this game is good value for my money. Hopefully the support continues!

Titanfall 2 is a experience crafted with a great level of care and attention; the story is thrilling and places you into a believable yet incredibly dangerous world with your Titan as your guide and shield.

The balanced parkour and action elements make each fight challenging and rewarding and the game's story is extremely interesting to keep players engaged throughout. The relationship with your Titan grows and makes for a much appreciated and tense story with a generous level of graphical and game-play polish the original TItanfall lacked.

My only two gripes is that I wish the campaign was a bit longer despite being a good length. There was also several instances of cheap deaths given how quickly your pilot dies.

Do yourself a favour and play this game if at all you're interested in a good sci-fi story. Titanfall 2 is what the original should have been, players really shouldn't confuse the two given how well this game was executed compared to the first.

Great game made by old IW devs who made MW1/2. Campaign was action packed and MP is always fresh and evolving. Lots of customization and it's good to support a company that promotes free DLC & an anti P2W micro transactions attitude. Hoping the holiday season advertising and lower price will bring more players onboard. Best experienced on PC in 4K.

It's kinda sad, really. Titanfall 2 is a great game, but it's got a few problems. The multiplayer is already dead. Attrition mode, one of only two with the required number of people in my location to even START a match, just kept cycling. It would get 12 people, say "starting server," then flip back to zero people and start again. There was a total population of roughly 2,600 people even online. It's just crazy less than a month after launch.

This could be/have been mitigated by two things:
    1. Not releasing the game so close to BF1. (That was the wort decision ever)
    2. Use a server browser, so you can at least see the different modes/players and get a rough estimate of wait time. I dislike games without a server browser a majority of the time.

Another thing is (and I'm not including it above) is that I honestly think being on Origin as opposed to Steam is always a bad thing. I personally know people who won't buy on Origin at all because they don't want to have to deal with a second launcher. While I understand it from a cost saving business perspective, no longer releasing their games to Steam does cut down on the possible audience.

No, the single player campaign is great. It's also not particularly long, as is usually expected in a modern day FPS since the singleplayer is there only to compliment the multiplayer, not the other way around. In the end, no matter how good of a campaign, if there's little to no multiplayer base left, there's little reason for someone to spend their hard earned cash on this for roughly seven hours of playtime.

As I said before, it's sad, because this is a really great game. Thanks to EA bungling it's launch, they've damned it to obscurity.

I've giving the single player a 10, but they multiplayer (or lack thereof) a 2, so yeah. Again, it's not that the multiplayer is bad... just barely existent.

Granted I am a newbie and am still learning but holy crap does the single player take away the fun. The amount of wall jumping I had to do to pass certain areas of the **** game was annoying as hell. It took me good 7 hours to finish the game not because it was long but because I died so many times doing the wall jumping. I am not sure if the whole point of this game was supposed to be that. This is my first titanfall game. Story was really good, gameplay was good too, its the gameplay mechanics which I did not like. If you do buy this game remember...you cant pass certain areas unless you are good at this wall jumping gimmick, I am not and therefore it took away the fun. Anyways here are the good points:
    1)Amazing optimization...I have a i5 6400 with a gtx 950m AND 8 GB RAM ...no lag whatsoever!
    2) the multiplayer is amazing, hands down one of the best multiplayers I have ever played and is very newb friendly and good community too
3)deep mechanics involved in multiplayer, not just gunning and shooting! Also, tons of customization in multi
4)No forced wall jumping in multiplayer
5)Free dlcs! (how many games nowadays do this?)
6)Good story- will push you to see how it ends!

So, is the game fun then overall? Hell ya the multiplayer is addicting. The single player is quite possibly the most frustrating one I've ever played but I pushed on since the story was really good. But holy smokes the amount of wall jumping I had to do to pass the game made me hate this game....almost...until I joined multi then it was just balls out crazy fun.

I usually don't go and make accounts just to review games but because I got tired of dying and restarting a level I thought id let someone else know before they purchase just for single player. Do not buy this for single player...buy it for multi. Granted I do suck since I'm just starting out however, they should've done something so you could do without wall jumping if needed.
My scale is out of 10, I give both multi and single a score out of 5. Mutli for me was a solid 4.5 and single is 1.5 - too much forced wall jumping. Total then is a 6.

Releasing at the same time as BF1 probably wasn't the best idea EA, plus your competing with COD your biggest competitor all at the same time. But then again maybe your just trying to suck everything you can from the COD player base and I hope it works.

Multiplayer is fantastically fun and its amazing they are releasing DLC for free keeping the community together rather than separating them by purchased and non-purchases maps. Honestly this is how it should be done rather than trying to suck every penny out of the player... Season passes, $120 for the "full game", some extra maps, characters, maybe a gold colored gun, and items that end up giving you a slight advantage "pay to win," yea that concept is pure greed.

Titan fall 2 is one of the best FPS games in a long time - I highly recommend picking it up.

They turned the multiplayer in a colored cartoon where enemies glow red and have healthbars over their heads. They removed titan loadout customization and nerfed down the titans to the point that they die extremly fast. If the first game took away the focus from player vs player action having to kill specters and grunts, now you also have to fight these robot reapers who are extremely annoying. Matchmaking sucks once again, but then again a proper matchmaking system would require a high player base. They made the game even more casual but most importantly they removed the whole immersion and military feeling from the first one. The campaign is awesome as they say but its short and not enough to justify for the price. I'm going to stick to Titanfall 1 for now... Expand

The fact that it has a campaign is a slight bonus but that is only going to occupy you for a few hours.

It is on occasions like this that I really wish PC players weren't permanently tied into their game purchases. If I had this on console then it would be on its way to the trade in store already but sadly I own it on Origin and purchased a boxed copy from Amazon so I'm stuck with it ever. Well now there is a chance for the new generation of gamers to get it all, get a casualized enough game to feel very playable, yet still retain the movement and aim critical mechanics of the old competitive FPS, the LAN generation!

Titanfall 2 Campaign is nice, but Titanfall never was about singleplayer and never should be, infact the first Titanfall was just fine in this regard.. It is the absolute diamond multiplayer that makes the difference.

Now Titanfall 2 is not perfect and the developers commitment remains to be seen, but in comparison to other leaders of the FPS genre, Casual (Overwatch), Themed (Battlefield 1), Competitive (CS).. Titanfall 2 is absolute 10.

So grab a friend or two, and check out the Titanfall 2. Give your money to a developer that is trying to break your generation free from the curse of the modern shooter.

On top of everything else, there are no required paid DLC, no micro-transactions..

Multiplayer on a truly competitive fast-paced game like this can get frustrating at first, coming from other types of games. But this game is casualized just enough to give you ample chances to learn it and improve yourself, the weapons are made so that you can increase your risk-reward further to learn more efficient but harder to control weapons and play-styles.

This year has been great on games, You all have your favorites to spend your money on, but now those are out and if you are looking to pick up a new game to play alone or especially with friends, Titanfall 2 is a solid choice.

No longer do titans have shields right off the bat, so the hit and tag gameplay of the previous game no longer exists. No longer can pilots use counter measures as quickly, so expect a successful rodeo to cause the death of your titan.

They did add a lot of player classes to the game... despite them still recycling the old one. TBH, I think they should have kept the old loadout system, so we could have some versatility, but added the new core types and weapons to the mix.

Its not bad, but its not as customizatble as the first titanfall... Its not bad in any way, similar gun play. They try to make up for the lack of customizing your titans weapons by giving you the ability to apply a paint job to your titan... Once again, should just let me customize the titans chasis, weapon, and salvo... like in the first one.... If you couldnt tell, thats my main complaint about the multiplayer, they dumbed down the titan gameplay.

For the multiplayer, if you are tired of COD then the game is for you, it's been made by devs who works on the COD franchise so it feels the same but with some fresh air that was much needed ! The pace is perfect which prevents you from being bored.

I hope you are not afraid of heights because Titanfall 2 is way up there.

This is pilote Pillowbottom, signing off.

SP: Good story with varied maps and gameplay, almost like playing different games every now and then.
MP: Pretty intense gameplay, movement and agility is awesome, fighting with titans change the dynamic of combat and adds even more variety to every game.
Also, it's not frantic and chaotic as COD games, which is nice for me ... I have 37 years and my reflexes are diminishing ^_^U but

    Good stuff :)

The campaign is the most compelling fps 1 player experience I have had a in a long time. It's really beautiful, visually and mechanically creative (the time shift section is genius) and even had some quite emotive moments!

The multiplayer I found initially a bit frustrating, but that might just be because I am not very good. However as I have started to get better it makes you feel like

Only downside I can think of is there are so many guns that they are not really balanced to the extent you would find in something like Halo or BF

I can't agree with most of the reviews. Comparing to Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare which seems like an obvious competition to Titanfall 2, new CoD wins it. Titanfall 2 have worse campaign, plot and the animations seems less dynamic (I'm not talking about gameplay, as everyone can have his own preferences). A big disadvantage to all those that are buying game from their home country (whichI can't agree with most of the reviews. A big disadvantage to all those that are buying game from their home country (which is not English speaking) is that you are forced to use your national language version of the game and won't be able to change it. If you want to play English version, you would have to buy the game second time. Expand

By addressing the biggest criticisms of the first game, Respawn has managed to improve an already great shooter. Fast-paced, electric single-player campaign along with a full-featured multiplayer has made Titanfall 2 a must play for shooter fans.

The 2nd installment of the Titanfall series continues down the right path yet again. It is truly one of the best First Person Shooters of this generation.

It’s the most enjoyable shooter I’ve played in a long, long time, a brilliant mix of different flavors that you simply need to try. [13/2016, p.52]
