And SP is aroud 6-7 hours (3rd difficulty, that i took=6 hour and 48 minutes for me:)). And if you finished, you will want your personal B.T.

And MP? Better then 1st Titanfall. Amazing new Titans, weapons and skills for pilot. Maps arent big, you can fin your enemy so easy. And if i took pilot vs pilot (one of mode in game and in 1st Titanfall, maybe the "worst" mod, because you cant find other people) i waited around 40 sec. In other mods 20-40 sec.

there are few single-player stories that leave enough of an impact to make you watch through the credits... Titanfall 2 is such a game...
MASTERPIECE! worth the price only for the single player campaign!

Titanfall 2 is a great game. Gameplay is smooth and intuitive. Graphics and sound are awesome. Unlike most modern titles, its 90%+ gameplay instead of 50%+ cutscenes. Even the platforming obstacles aren't annoying, which is rare. Overall, a fun and entertaining game.

There are NO cons to say about this game what so ever. And I would have give it a 10 but because of the campaign short. Although I take quality over quantity but they had the skills to make it longer with that quality.

I don't know if we will get a good Titanfall 3 since EA just bought the Developers and we all know how garbage EA is.

Campaign is nice (not great), with a good story (just good) and some really nice mechanics.

Maps? not many Weapons? some are good, just a bit are excellent, many suck Titans? some are overpowered (Tone, Legion i'm talking to you!) so why 9/10? Because the game is FUN.

Most fun and engaging PvP in FPS i ever had.

    try it. you'll love.

and if you suck at FPS, get a EVA-8 or an Alternator as a weapon, Tone as Titan. You'll rock (yes, the matchmaking is really well made). So no excuses, play this game. You deserve it!

if you're a pro FPS monster (i'm not, i'm noob), you'll get as much adrenaline as you want, sit into your Ronin and/or go gunning with some serious assault rifle.

Titanfall 2 single player is the real highlight of the game. Due to the fact that it was missing in the first one the single player was fun although short. The updates they have done in regarding the multiplayer have been great.

    PROS:
-Perhaps one of the most innovative takes on what has become a tired and stale FPS genre.
-Absolutely exhilarating combat and movement. Between the grappling hook, wall running, double jumping, LITERAL NINJA STAR BLACK HOLES - you feel like a futuristic space ninja.
-Uses the older source engine, and as a result, it manages to run great and look pretty decent doing so.
-The balance between using a titan and playing as a pilot is fantastic, allowing for whatever playstyle you prefer.
-NO SEASON PASS. All future content such as levels (aside from cosmetics) will be free.
-Great single player story mode. I assumed they would just tack on a story mode because people asked for it, but that's not the case here. It's obvious that real attention and care went into crafting an unforgettable journey.

    CONS:
-Story mode is egregiously short. We're talking four hours here. While I would prefer a short, but great story (which we get here) I don't think quality and length are mutually exclusive. I would have much more preferred a long, but great story.
-Some hickups/bugs in single player. I get occasional hickups where my character can still move, but everything else freezes for a bit. It's not dropping frames, but seems more like some strange kind of lag
-Low player count online. This one isn't Titanfall 2's fault, but I feel like it needs to be mentioned. Most likely due in part to it's bafflingly horrible release date being sandwiched between CoD and BF1, the online player count leaves much to be desired. This makes finding full matches in some of the less popular game modes difficult to impossible.

    OVERALL THOUGHTS:
-If you like FPS or you like sci-fi stuff, you should get this game. In my opinion there just aren't enough good sci fi games out there. Or movies for that matter really. It's seriously awesome and completely unexpected in terms of how good it ended up being. Knowing that they'll continue to support the game with free maps and no season pass is the icing on the cake, and really deserves to be supported in today's industry where cutting out half the game to sell as extra has become the norm.

    Buy it.

A game that hugely deserves all the praise it's receiving: The single player campaign is great, if short, and the multiplayer is fast and frantic, relying heavily on agile player movement, and game modes that discourage camping tactics and keeps you moving around the battlefield.

Whether you're on the ground as a pilot, or behind the helm of a one of the titular titans, you never feel ineffective in combat. While a good titan can dominate the battlefield, a good pilot relying on their smaller size and higher mobility can still cause them serious problems, grappling them or mounting them unseen to steal their batteries to cause damage - which can then be used to boost friendly titans - or drop grenades into their chassis, firing at them with anti-titan weapons, sticking them with thermite grenades to blind and damage them, or arc grenades to disrupt their visuals and movement.

Another nice feature of the multiplayer is the lack of downtime. Thanks to NPC units that spawn during multiplayer matches - which can be farmed for points and to reduce your ability cooldown - and because players tend to constantly move around the map, you rarely spawn far from a firefight, so action is pretty much constant during a match. You're also not heavily penalised for dying, aside from granting your opponents some extra points towards victory. Death is a way of the game, brush yourself off, and get back into the fight.

Graphically, the game looks beautiful, and the sound direction backs it up well, with full voice acting provided throughout the single player campaign, suitably epic situational music samples, and general background noise you'd expect - though you'd be strained to hear it over the regular firefights during the game. All weapons seem to have their own unique firing sounds, which is always nice to see.

Another focus of praise has to be the DLC scheme - the paid maps in the first game did little to help the smaller playerbase of the game, as players found themselves fragmented based on what map DLC they'd purchased. Respawn have made it clear that all map and weapon additions to the game will be free to all players, with only non-gameplay affecting cosmetics costing money - and this is on top of the extensive cosmetic skins already present and unlockable in the game through standard gameplay. I'm also pleased to see that they haven't gone down the "loot box" route in regards to premium cosmetic content - you pay your money, you get what you paid for . No frustrating scheme of paying for lootboxes for a chance to "spin the wheel" here.

Downsides? The multiplayer could still do with a little some rebalancing, with certain titans and weapons seeing far more use than others due to them being just being plain better - At the same time though, time-to-kill is low, which whilst important for keeping the action flowing, it means that most automatic weapons in the game are capable of quickly vaporising pilots quickly enough with sustained fire - which makes any unique properties they might possess seem minimal at best.

Some also say that the maps aren't of as high a quality as the first game either, with less focus on verticality in regards to pilot movement, and the popularity of one of the original maps in the first free DLC pack certainly seems to support this. It might have also been nice to see the grappling hook be a standard piece of equipment in the game, rather than an optional pilot ability, since it supports the high focus on player movement well. There have also been a few gripes about the length of the single player campaign, though I might argue that a shorter, high quality campaign is better than a longer one that suffers in quality as a result.

But these are all very minor niggles in what is otherwise a fantastic game. The only other downside I've found? Try playing any other popular multiplayer FPS on the market at the moment after a round of Titanfall 2 - you'll find yourself immediately frustrated at just how *goddamned slow* they are.

Starting off the single player you are quickly introduced to the movement in a small training tutorial that also serves as a gauge for what difficulty to play the game at. For me, it was suggested that I play on hard but I lowered the difficulty to normal simply because I had not played the first game and just wanted to get a feel for the game before I jumped into the multiplayer. So, single player takes you step by step introducing you to your titan, often giving you a new toy to play with just as soon as you get acquainted with the last. The titan has its own AI that will engage in conversation with you making you feel like it is just as much a partner as it is a weapon for war. I will not spoil the story here, but at the end I just felt wanting for more. Not that the story feels incomplete or lacking a true ending, but because most of the story takes play at one location all the while characters hint at a much larger universe. Graphically the game is stylish with large and beautiful terrain of an alien planet. All of which runs at a buttery smooth framerate on my PC, which is still running off of mostly 3 year old parts. One thing that I am compelled to mention is one particular time traveling level where you are seamlessly phasing between two points of time at the press of a button. At one time you are walking through a research facility that appears to have witnessed a catastrophic event over run with unchallenged flora and fauna and the other time point is sometime just prior to the chaos. The two timelines have similar layout but drastically different aesthetic detail that makes the phasing between the two time points all that more impressive. On to the multiplayer side of things, the game is fast, fun, but also cerebral. There are six different types of Titans available each with their own set of abilities. Each titan requiring careful consideration of how to play them, what modes/maps to play them, and how to confront them in titan vs titan combat. For most modes, you may only call in a titan one to three times per match. Enough times that the titans really bring something new to FPS multiplayer, but few enough to make each Titanfall feel like an event. As someone who has primarily played Black Ops 3 over the last year, the thrust jumping, wall running and grapple hook driven mobility was easy to grasp even if it has its own nuances. One problem however is the time to kill a pilot, it feels far too fast meaning that pilot to pilot firefights feel less of a fight and more of a game of hide and seek. Whoever spots the other first and opens fire, will win the encounter. Most frustrating is when you call in your titan only to die before you can climb into it. This does put an emphasis on earning your titan then walking away from the action to call in the titan at relative safety. The titans themselves feel as they should, walking weapons of mass destruction, rightfully capable of one-shoting titanless pilots. Overall Titanfall 2 is great fun and worth the time to play, in this gamers opinion. Expand

The Campaign is fun and finally flushes out some story and much needed background to Titanfall (which was sorely lacking in the first version of this IP) The multiplayer brings me back to the glory days of CoD 4: Modern Warfare... The game that opened the genre to the masses. Modern Warfare was fresh and engaging and had you hooked from the first time you played. TF 2 captures much of that same feeling.

You are able to flush out both your Pilot and Titan to fit exactly your play style, with custom tweaks you can do to their appearance and abilities. Advancement comes relatively easily, and unique features like "Happy Hour" allows you to advance that much quicker. The game is also set up to encourage you to level different class builds. Merits (The games system, of experience) come quicker in low level builds, and the ability to advance the level of your pilot, titan, individual skills and weapons really keeps you engrossed. I find TF2 to be much like playing golf. Even if you aren't very good, you get that round that reminds you why you enjoy playing in the first place.

It is not perfect, but ever since the first Modern Warfare, nothing has quite come as close to a unique and engaging experience to CoD4: Modern Warfare like TF2 has for me. Try it out. It is currently being overshadowed by titles like Battlefield 1 (a great game as well... I would rate it an 8 out of 10) and the next release of CoD: Infinite Warfare (which so far based on early reviews appears to me more of the same)

Titanfall does not have the brand recognition of CoD, but it has a superior pedigree IMHO.

The multiplayer is where I feel the game shines, it great to see something different in this over saturated market of standard fps games that follow a template of design. The game is perfectly paced in my opinion and titan battles are a great spectacle and fun. All in all a great game, it's nice to see some developers making more original entries into this genre. The reason for the 9 instead of 10 is I wish there were more people online. If you see this game on sale you should buy it, you won't be disappointed. Expand

This is easily the best modern FPS game on PC! It has a great single-player, a hectic multiplayer, and overall really well made. The titans in this game really add to the scale. In conclusion, this is my GOTY of 2016!

i stumbled on TF 1 and loved it. Yes the smartpistol sucked, the shotgun is to easy and some other weapons where overpowerd. But still it is a fun game, and as far as I know having fun is the reason for playing games.

Finally not that long ago TF 2 came in to this world. Most people i was playing with, couldn t wait for TF 2. The first reviews made some people doubt TF 2, but still they bought it.

Having read some good and some bad reviews, i thought who cares i am buying the game, i paid 10 euros for TF 1, and spent allmost 1000 hours playing it, even with 50 hours playtime it will be worth it.

I started with the campaign, i thought it would be a standard somewhat short campaign and yes it was. But it was a really fun campaign i had not seen in a long time and allready found my money well spent. I was even pleased to see that i could play at a constant 144 frames per second with my gtx 1070, well not all the time but most of the time on the lowest setting possible at 1080 p. So that is good. The game looks great at high settings or more, and offcourse looks a bit poor on the lower settings, but still looks good enough to enjoy. TF 2 movement is really really fast , so playing at 120hz/ 144hz is better then great graphics.

On to the multiplayer part. Really i did not like it, I wanted my titanshields back, I hated the stupid battery I had to get to boost my titans livespan. The movement of the Pilot felt slower then in TF 1. I said goodby to TF 2, and went back to TF 1.

Strange enough the movement in TF 1 felt slower then in TF 2, i missed the slidding over the floor i did in TF 2. I did not understand why TF 1 felt that much slower then TF 2, because i was sure it was the other way around. So I went back to TF 2, and yes after a while I was getting it, and Damm I was moving fast, jumping around, sliding over rooftops, getting behind other players and snapping there necks like little twigs. And after the sliding, jumping and dodging bullets and heavy fire I could call in my own walking tank, and i would smash, crush, shoot, burn, and cut those other Pilots and have a blast with it.

TF 2 is fun, you can play with tactics it is allmost a must if you want to win. It is great playing with a group of people, that really gives a good edge over other teams. I do not understand why a **** game like BF 1 sells bigtime and TF 2 is doing poorly, The game does not deserve it, it is not for everybody, but even if it is not you're kind of game, 9 out of 10 people will not find it a waste of money. People who give TF 2 a very low score did not give it a chance, For most players it takes some time and practice to get good at it, When you figure out what works for you its great.

Highly recommend because there aren't a lot of game out there where you can control a giant mech warrior. I also hate puzzles and this game does involve path finding but the checkpoints always make sure you spawn very close to where you died. This reduces frustrations. -The in-game customisation is overwhelming.

    -Epic Titan combat.
    -Amazing PC optimisation.
    -Much, much more.

    Cons:
    -1 hit, lunge, panic melee.
-Players can connect to servers across the world, while this is great, lagging is an issue.

The campaign was designed to throw you right into the action after a summarized introduction. There are a mixture of acrobatics as well as mech combat, and everything progresses quickly so there is no wasted effort. There are a wide variety of weapons for you to find what you like, and the futuristic theme of the game is implemented nicely into the world, reminiscent of Crysis.

The mech you are issued has a funny personality, and you truly build a bond with it. The environments are incredibly unique with plenty of dynamic puzzles to test your reaction and critical thinking. The added parkour element allows you a lot of freedom to approach maps in your own way.

The game is surprisingly optimized and isn't difficult to pick up and play. The campaign flies by very quickly and appears to be short on paper (I beat it in just over four hours), but the experience is so addictively immersive that it feels like triple the time. My score strictly reflects the quality of the game alone, which means realistically it would be more of an 8 due to its still-steep price. I highly suggest buying EA Pass for a month to play instead.

The single player campaign is my favorite campaign of all time. The story is short and sweet, the characters are interesting and lovable, and BT-7274 is one of my favorite characters of all time. That’s all I’m going to say about the campaign. If you have not played it, you are missing out, go play it right now!

The multiplayer is incredibly fun also. The gun recoil is kind of ridiculous, but makes sense with the fast time to kill. Using the Titans feels fairly balanced, but the learning curve can be extreme for new players.
The only issues I have with this game are with the multiplayer:
    1. Learning curve is very extreme and casual players will easily get frustrated.
    2. Customization of Pilot feels lacking and uncreative. I wish there were more perks to work towards and change up Pilot gameplay.
    3. Weapon recoil and hit registration can feel very inconsistent and over the top. I’d prefer a longer time to kill with steadier weapons, than hoping for lucky shots to kill enemies half the time.

Frontier Defense is another major multiplayer game mode which is similar to a firefight, wave defense game type. It can be very fun and makes you feel like a godly pilot destroying waves of titans and other ground enemies. The only problem with this game mode is it’s pretty easy after a couple of tries, and becomes tedious due to repetition.

    9/10 - can’t wait for Titanfall 3!

Coated in a rather generic FPS game with different weapons, perks and gameplay options is kind of a mini-hero shooter with titans. At the start of a game you play a normal shooter until you gain enough points to earn your titan. Once you're in a titan, you are basically in another league, players without titans are desperately inferior to titans and the main focus shifts to battling other enemy titans. Once you lose your titan, you have to collect points to earn your titan again, rinse and repeat.

There are 6 different titan types in multiplayer games and each of them has their own set of special abiltites and playstyle, which makes titan combat very interesting and engaging. It's very fun to try out the different titans and just the basic concept of having titans in an otherwise standard FPS game just feels super cool.

The non-titan gameplay, which is the secondary main aspect of the game also feels fleshed out. Abiltities like wall-running, double jumps and other movement perks very much encourage gun-runners and disocurage camping. Switching from CoD to Titanfall, I definitiely realized that I wasn't getting as frustrated as before.

The game offers a single player campaign too, and they really tried to make it something special. Other than having titans and alternating between titan and regular shooter-gameplay, sometimes they give you a time machine, where you can constantly blink in and out of two different timelines, engage a massive hoard of enemies, blink out, reload and re-engage. Another time they give you an arc-tool and a parkour-section focusing on the fluid game mechanics and movement. Titanfall 2's campaign is certainly worth checking out.

All in all Titanfall 2 stands out from other FPS games in a good way. I very much recommend it over CoD.

Occasional game crashes and server disconnects can occur.

But the multiplayer is what make this game a must play if you enjoyed the first, or even Apex Legends now that it's out. Many gamemodes to choose from, although I'm not a big fan of them all, there is something for almost every player. I like when you're both in and out of a Titan, NPCs spawning in makes for an easier immersion and if you can't aim properly at players, because, yes, it's not easy to get used to the game mechanics and controls, you'll die quite a lot at the beginning. But once you get used to it and if your pc is capable enough, you'll have a little gem (since many consider the game underrated since its release in 2016) and hours of fun. Expand

If you like Call of Duty Modern Warfare 1 and 2, you are probably wondering where those developers went after they were fired. They went to Respawn Entertainment, where they would later make my favorite first-person shooter. I'm going to start with the campaign I guess. The campaign is short and brilliant. The story isn't all that great but it was pretty good when I paid more attention to it. The campaign's levels are all original and enjoyable. Unlike Call of Duty's games where you can only complete levels one way (shoot, get shot, get to cover, heal, repeat) Titanfall 2 has an incredible variety of ways to complete levels. You can use almost any walls to flank enemies, you can slide in-between your foes, and even become invisible to get the upper hand. You can also go into your giant titan during levels that give you that option. There is an emotional bond between you and your titan, BT7274 (I think that's it's name). I am a very emotional boy and cry very easily so I was balling my eyes out at the end of this campaign. Just promise me if you play this, watch till the end of the credits (you'll thank me later). Now for the multiplayer. The maps are designed in a way that you can play an entire match without touching the ground once if you really want to. Unlike the campaign, if you stay in one place for too long (max of 2-3 seconds) you will die. The controls are easy o learn, don't worry, but very hard to master. There is so much customization in this game. You can pick from a large number of different operators with certain skills, titans, and weapons. The titans' work as your airstrike in COD, except you, unlock it with time. This way if you die (and you will) you won't lose your progress. Operator abilities range from using a grappling hook, a speed boost, and becoming invisible to making clones of yourself. Yes, this game is made by EA, but it is not pay to win, thank god. Also, Respawn Entertainment made Apex Legends, so they can and did use the same weapons in Titanfall 2. So if you played Apex you know what guns are good and bad. This game is now free on PS+, Xbox Gamepass, EA Play and is purchasable (but not free) on Steam. There are so many ways to customize the appearance of your operator, titan, and weapons. You can unlock these by getting killstreaks and that kind of stuff. You can also use real money to purchase it but it does not make you any better at the game. I really hope that if you chose to get this game you will come to love it as much as me. Expand

Gameplay wise, this game is the real deal. When playing as a Pilot, movement is the main highlight, moving through the levels and maps feels awesome, building and keeping momentum is truly entertaining and satisfying. Whereas when you play as a Titan, you just get that feeling of being truly overpowered, and unstoppable, these missile rains for sure will make you feel invincible.
The guns are great for most of them, whether they are those of the pilots or those of the titan, you can't find none to your taste.

Multiplayer is fast-paced like no other FPS I have ever tried, and although reading all these informations seems overwhelming at first, when you are used to it and performing in matches, it works, definitely.

Also, +1 for the excellent animations

As for the multiplayer, it never gets old with a wide variety of Titans, guns, abilities, you name it it's probably gonna be there. There are a few things that could be nerfed, like the Smart Pistol or the Spitfire, but even then those can be countered with fast movement and good aim, the two most important things you must have

So let's just get this right off the bat, this game is amazing and a must play for any fps fans. Though it's not yet annouced that titanfall 3's release date but Im hoping the next game will come out. As you may know right now, I love this game. The story writers, graphic designer and the people that worked on the gameplay mechanics itself really puts their hearts and soul into this baby. since this review is going to be long, I'd like to divide it into diffrent sections.

    -The story:
+the story in titanfall 2 is top notch, it gives the player 2 characters to invest their emotions into, I almost cried that time bt sacrificed himself for Jack. some characters need some attention to be developed too like lastimosa aka Jack Cooper's trainer, he's the kind of character I would love to emotionally be invested too, the guy's a great character and if possible I'd would love to know his story as well.

    -the gameplay:
+what can I say about this, the gameplay is godlike, specially for multiplayer which is the best thing about the game. Multiplayer is the most fun part about it, being able to fly in the air (well, technically) and killing other pilots makes you feel like a pilot, even the multiplayer respawn spent alot of time developing as well. there are about 8 classes you can choose, I wouldn't say all of the names, play the game then you'll know, each class have different abilities bla bla bla,.... There are also a **** ton of weapons to choose from, (pls don't use the smart gun it's so fking overpowered), the movement is amazing, gunplay's fun and the titans are so juicy. Some of you might think titans are too big and you just wanna enjoy being a pilot, guess what? It's extremely fun to play as a titan as well, there are also a **** ton of classes to choose from and you could always use different backup abilities (for example, the injector seat which injects you out of the titan in case when your titan's ****ed).

conclusion: this is obviously a must-play game and is totally for anyone who likes fast pace games (tbh, it's only fast pace when you get the hang of the movement), and when you complete the story, you'll be like me and pray to the respawn entertainment gods to give a sequel to titanfall 2, the story of bt and Jack cooper must continue. tbh, I didn't enjoy multiplayer at first because I keep getting clapped so don't be like me and quit for months and come back just to realize that the game's amazing, just don't give up multiplayer just yet. Trust me, when you get your first pilot kill, you'll invest more into the game.

With its seamless blend of fast-paced combat, innovative mechanics, and a gripping narrative, this game stands as a masterclass in shooter gameplay.

One of the standout features of Titanfall 2 is its fluid and exhilarating movement system. Players can effortlessly traverse the environment using wall-running, double-jumping, and sliding, which adds a verticality and agility to the gameplay that is unmatched by most shooters. The level design perfectly complements these mechanics, allowing for creative and dynamic approaches to engagements. The sense of speed and freedom is a breath of fresh air, making each moment feel exhilarating and empowering.

The combat in Titanfall 2 is a thrilling dance of agility and firepower. The introduction of Titans, colossal mechs piloted by players, adds a whole new layer of strategy and excitement. The seamless transition between on-foot combat and piloting a Titan creates a unique dynamic on the battlefield. The Titans themselves are well-designed and diverse, each with their own abilities and playstyles. The battles between Titans and pilots are epic and adrenaline-pumping, providing intense and memorable moments.

The single-player campaign in Titanfall 2 is a standout experience on its own. The narrative is engaging and emotionally resonant, focusing on the bond between a pilot and his Titan. The level design brilliantly combines platforming, combat encounters, and puzzle-solving, creating a diverse and captivating gameplay experience. The campaign's pacing is superb, effortlessly transitioning between heart-pounding action and quieter, character-driven moments. It's a testament to the game's ability to deliver a compelling narrative in a genre often known for its multiplayer focus.

The multiplayer component of Titanfall 2 is a true highlight. It offers a variety of game modes that cater to different playstyles and preferences. The fast-paced nature of the combat, combined with the unique movement mechanics, makes matches intense and highly engaging. The customization options for both pilots and Titans allow for personalization and strategic choices, adding depth to the multiplayer experience. The matchmaking system is robust, ensuring fair and competitive matches.

The presentation of Titanfall 2 is top-notch. The visuals are stunning, with detailed environments, impressive particle effects, and smooth animations. The game runs smoothly, maintaining a high frame rate even during the most chaotic moments. The sound design is exceptional, from the booming explosions and gunfire to the satisfying crunch of metal as Titans clash. The epic orchestral soundtrack perfectly complements the action, enhancing the intensity and immersion.

While Titanfall 2 is an exceptional game, it does have a few minor shortcomings. The player population may vary depending on the platform and region, which can occasionally impact matchmaking times. Additionally, the single-player campaign, while a fantastic experience, may feel relatively short for some players, leaving them craving more of the captivating world and story.

Titanfall 2 is a shining example of what a first-person shooter can achieve when it pushes the boundaries of gameplay and innovation. Its fluid movement system, thrilling combat encounters, and captivating single-player campaign set it apart from its peers. With its solid multiplayer offering, exceptional presentation, and an emphasis on player freedom and creativity, Titanfall 2 is a must-play for fans of the genre. It earns a well-deserved 9/10 rating for its groundbreaking gameplay, compelling storytelling, and sheer fun factor.

There are a few things that keep Titanfall 2 from being a perfect game. The single-player campaign is a bit short, and the power balance of the Titans is not fully balanced. However, these are minor flaws that do not detract from the overall experience.

This is certainly true of the multiplayer. Infact, I'd argue it's not quite as good as the original. Perhaps because the first game was so fresh and original amongst a sea of bland, iterative shooters that it stood out. The first game got everything nailed much like the original Modern Warfare - it had just the right level of customisation, titans, weapons, game modes and maps. However with Titanfall 2, the developers seem to have gone down a more "let's add MORE menu stuff" route like Call of Duty did. Gone are the simple pre-set default classes and limited choice of attachments and perks. The original was simple: as with CoD4, you could get away with not caring about any create-a-class nonsense and just focus on playing, match after match with no distractions. In Titanfall 2, there are more weapons, attachments, perks, titans, custom class options, titles etc. From a purely objective view these don't make the game worse - after all, more is better right? But from a gameplay experience, the whole emphasis on networks and deeper customisation take away from the core experience for me.

That said, one thing they haven't got wrong is the mechanics. The fast-paced action, movement and shooting are nailed. However the multiplayer still feels a bit lacking compared to the original. Perhaps I preferred the Xbox One version, with the controls and players. But I can definitely say that the maps are much worse in this version; as are the titans. The maps are not as well-designed, don't offer exciting gameplay and are too big; - as a result the game feels much slower than it should. Furthermore titans seem a lot weaker than they did in the original. I'd also like to mention that I was rather good at the original - always did really well in all game modes, top of my team etc. but in this version I suck (maybe Xbox version is easier, or players on PC are better)- something to bear in mind.

Final note regarding the multiplayer: the player base. Given the unfortunate timing of the game's launch, the PC player base has about 2500 concurrent players online. This isn't too bad, given matches are 6v6 but it means you won't be getting into matches soon. Furthermore, it's cirtually impossible to find people in the objective game modes - which in my opinion are the most fun. This isn't helped by the fact that there are two separate "pages" in the UI for modes, and the first page doesn't contain these modes - and it is not immediately apparent that there is another "page" with more game modes.

Now onto why I'm giving this a positive review. Simply put, the campaign makes up for where the multiplayer was lacking. I'm a huge fan of Modern Warfare's campaign, and Titanfall 2's campaign delivers an extremely high-quality, decent length and sufficiently varied campaign with a decent story, good level design and perfect pacing. In particular, I'd like to highlight the rather excellent attempt to highlight the emotional bond between Titan and Pilot - it is truly what makes the story; even though the overall plot of the game is very generic and uninspiring. Some levels are more interesting than others, such as one where you can timewarp. There are also plenty of pre-set titan loadouts which you can switch to at any time, but these are unlocked gradually throughout the campaign. Overall there is a perfect balance between all of the things that make Titanfall... well, Titanfall - platforming/wallrunning, shooting and of course, Titan battles. For the best experience, I would recommend playing the game on at least Hard, as it is quite easy.

Contrary to what some critics claim (looking at you, TotalBiscuit!), the campaign is anything but "throw-away". In my opinion, the campaign is the sole reason to purchase this game as it delivers a solid experience in all aspects. It's nothing particularly revolutionary or special, but compared to most shooters of this kind, Titanfall 2 has one of the best campaigns I've ever played. It even has a time trial tutorial level (clear influence from Modern Warfare games) and this provides some replay value.

Also if you're into achievements, you'll be pleased to know that, as with Modern Warfare games, they are almost entirely single player.
Visually, the game blew me away at every level. The graphics and art style are perfect, and if Origin had a screenshot key, I would have taken many. It runs flawlessly on max settings.

To conclude, I would argue that Titanfall 2's multiplayer doesn't feel anywhere near as exciting or special as the original's, and the playerbase is worryingly low just months after launch. However, given the high-quality campaign - which, in my view, is not a common sight in AAA shooters - as well as the game's signature mechanics, it's worth playing if you like first-person shooters and want something exciting.

The singleplayer story was excellent, with good map design and gameplay. The character development was... ok for the most part with the interactions between pilot and titan being the highlight for me. One of the better campaigns i've played in quite some time, but only 5 hours of gameplay it is relatively short, which leaves you with multiplayer.

Graphics are good, they are nice with good detail on most surfaces and some nice effects to boot on some of the weapons, but it lacks any real shader work, which is surprising when the singleplayer looked much better, with more atmosphere, creating the titanfall universe to great effect, disappointing as the multiplayer is all bright and well lit losing all of that atmosphere, meaning it has nothing on other shooters like BF1 or COD:IW but acceptable for a 2016 title neither the less.

Sound, good overall, having a good sound with weighty titan footsteps to jet boosters of pilots, music is good in the singleplayer campaign but pretty lacking in multiplayer but the commentary throughout each match was entertaining. Weapons have a great sounds and some beafy kick too with shotguns and LMG's feeling badass and satisfying. nothing is really stand outish in this area imho, it plays the part but theres no sounds which are really remember-able.

Gameplay again is ok, nothing special here with a lot of the time it being entertaining and interesting, partly to do with match types and partly to do with map design. titan vs titan is particularly boring thought as titans are made out of soft cheese spread this time so you'll be corner peeking all match, if you don't you'll be toast in 7 seconds flat. Because of the map design a lot of the time the game doesn't play smoothly in the sense that there is no fludity to the combat it's slowed right down from TF1 and made it too tactical, forget run and gun with super fast action, prepare to be shot in the back by someone hiding in a corner cloaked, it's boring, it's dumb. Respawn missed the opportunity for larger maps and more players, which the singleplayer story showed to be epic and fun. Unfortunately this isn't TF1+ it's an imposter.

Maps are lacking real strategy with you either hanging back or getting funnelled into a killzone. Some of the them lack any real design with a few street blocks with a handful of directions to go, others are far too open and a sniper fest. Frankly this is the biggest hangup as it's boring after an hour, as there is a small selection and none of them are really fun.

Netcode, frankly shocking, i've checked everything on my end bearing in mind i have no problems on any other titles (cod,bf1,bf4,overwatch,etc.), the amount of times the killcam is different from what happened beforehand it is truely eyebrow raising, or when you melee someone in the back nothing happens so you try a few more times only for them to appear behind you and kill you, it's insulting, frustrating and quite frankly poor. there is little lag spikes you can see as a jitter or animations stutter for a second, these happen far too often and ruin any fun or fairness you expect from a title. On top of this sometimes there is no weapon sound until after your dead. you'll see the animations but you'll get no audio feedback so unless your looking at your attacker you get gibbed in silence. Online play is broken as far as i'm concerned with many deaths being completely out of your control.

I did contact Respawn entertainment who have completely ignored me, which from past experience means there is an issue. When I've contacted other companies about there games with issues you get a response to solve that issue, Respawn are playing dumb so it seems to me there is very much an issue and there keeping quiet and hoping the positive reception is outweighing those of us suffering.

It has been confirmed that there are a few hacks going about, but Respawn is aware and hopefully fixing very soon,

    Conclusion

If you like singleplayer stories buy it, it's a great story, it's fun, exciting and has some great set pieces.
    However
If you want it for multiplayer, buy it as it as good as either COD or BF1 or Overwatch. There all polished titles, but with better netcode at this time.

As someone who loved the original i'm upset, the netcode is iffy at the moment and the hacks are present. this isn't the titanfall 2 people wanted. This was supposed to have been bigger budgeted with better maps, more titans, more players in a match, with everything polished and refined. Making it a true competitor to COD and BF1, however the netcode does require looking at, I will change this review if the patch changes any of my above statements.

Five Word Review: Good story, sweet mech action.
Favorite Thing: A solid story, great gameplay and giant mechs.
Least Favorite Thing: As someone uninterested in multiplayer, the price tag is very steep for only 6 hours of playtime.

    Playtime: ~ 6h
    Enjoyment: 8/10
Recommendation: Scifi, FPS, mech fan will enjoy themselves

Titanfall 2 is a good buy. The multiplayer has some more options and the campaign is a fun throwback to old-school FPS campaigns with the added benefit of Titanfall's awesome movement system. It's a bit campy at times and you probably shouldn't overthink some of the plot points but it is overall a good time. Amazing campaign, finally a FPS that has proper variety in every mission with some platforming mixed in. The story is forgettable but the relationship to your titan was quite memorable. Graphics are pretty and its just a shame the campaign was over so quickly. This is what Halo should try to aspire to be like.

I thoroughly enjoyed the campaign, it's easily one of the best in recent memory. It was filled with "omg that was so cool" moments and overall it was just a highly enjoyable experience from start to finish. TF2 is a very well made game, it runs, looks, sounds and plays great. The gunplay and movement is very tight and fluid, even when in the Titan which feels heavy and slow (as it should) you still feel almost graceful, it's a brilliant balance. Optimisation is great as well, I was hitting 144fps indoors and 80-100fps outdoors with a GTX 970 on high settings. The whole package just feels very polished.

As for the multiplayer it's good, quite intimidating when you first jump in because there's just so much customisation and content to catch up on, but I found myself enjoying it more and more with each rank up and after this review I'll be playing some more for sure. A lot of the devs who worked on TF2 worked on Call of Duty: MW and MW2 which IMO were two of the best, so you can expect a similar feel to those games, just with massive Titans added to this mix. The game still has a healthy playerbase, I never had to wait more than a minute for a match, often less and the game uses dedicated servers so my connection was solid with only 8ms.

Titanfall 2 is now available on Origin Access which is only £3.99 a month, you can sign up and cancel straight away which is what I did and it was well worth it just for TF2 alone.

Great game really the only possible complaint I have as a person from my part of the world is the low player base. The game itself is only a step up from the first.

Titanfall 2 stirs up the culture of having subpar campaign on multiplayer-focused FPS games with its fantastic singleplayer gameplay boasting its high octane sci-fi/mech combat.

I pretty much dont understand those who "counter" someone others review, you cant say that your review is the best, and that the game should have bigger rating, this is about getting median of people reviews ffs

Titanfall 2 expands upon everything from Titanfall 1, bringing new ideas to the table and adding a short and sweet campaign that is very enjoyable.

By addressing the biggest criticisms of the first game, Respawn has managed to improve an already great shooter. Fast-paced, electric single-player campaign along with a full-featured multiplayer has made Titanfall 2 a must play for shooter fans.

The 2nd installment of the Titanfall series continues down the right path yet again. It is truly one of the best First Person Shooters of this generation.

It’s the most enjoyable shooter I’ve played in a long, long time, a brilliant mix of different flavors that you simply need to try. [13/2016, p.52]
