Do not understand all these negative reviews. Can only believe it is some sort of troll. The single player campaign so far is fantastic, plays out well and really smooth. Great story line to make you feel engaged. The multiplayer is fast pace, well balanced maps. Really is a great game.

Best fps of the generation, perfect!

The campaign of the game is excellent, although it is a little short, the gameplay to the factor Titan's are very well applied, technically speaking the game has a competent visual, a wraparound atmosphere and well worked maps, I also highlight the multiplayer modes where frontier defense and Exhaustion shine.

Not much of a story to go on, but the relationship between the main protagonist and his trustworthy Mecha develops wonderfully. Both characters improve the experience with some quality banter and humour and in the end I was left feeling an actual emotional bond with my "Titan".

I was also pleasantly surprised with some innovative and original gameplay elements that added interesting variation to the flow of the game and never let it become monotonous and repetitive.

If you think the singleplayer is not worth it because it's a multiplayer game, you are very wrong. You should definitely give it a shot. Trust me, pilot.

I'm only going to review the campaign as I am not a multiplayer person. This is the best 1st person shooter since Wolfenstein New Order. Although the story is not mind-blowing, the relationship between the pilot and the mech is fun and sometimes moving. The pacing is great --just when you're about to maybe get bored they change it up. It's short and sweet A+

There are NO cons to say about this game what so ever. And I would have give it a 10 but because of the campaign short. Although I take quality over quantity but they had the skills to make it longer with that quality.

Titanfall 2 is a great game. Gameplay is smooth and intuitive. Graphics and sound are awesome. Unlike most modern titles, its 90%+ gameplay instead of 50%+ cutscenes. Even the platforming obstacles aren't annoying, which is rare. Overall, a fun and entertaining game.

-The trailers are realistic and represent the gameplay accurately, unlike Camper-field 1.
    -Monthly free DLC.
    -The in-game customisation is overwhelming.
-Similar to Halo, if you walk up behind someone and melee, you can trigger an epic 3rd-person execution.
    -Epic Titan combat.
    -Amazing PC optimisation.
    -Much, much more.

    Cons:
    -1 hit, lunge, panic melee.
-Players can connect to servers across the world, while this is great, lagging is an issue.
-Titan and weapon balance takes too long to be fixed.

the balance of the game is terrible, some of the guns, titans and even boosts give people who is a piece of human garbage a chance to ruin your time with, for example, a one-way bulletproof wall with an LMG camper can be super hard to kill if his spot covers a large area, a titan which can kill any pilot in 1 shot with its main gun, and a boost that gives you a pistol which automatically locks onto any player or NPC in view, there's a lot more then I can mention here but these imbalances give the veterans a really big advantage if they chose to abuse these mechanics, which makes someone like me who doesn't like "cheese tactics" suffer, once you realize the imperfections of the game, you will start to realise that all the perfect reviews of the game just attempt to get new players into the game so they can keep it alive, too bad there are people who are just too good or just abuse the flaws of the game ruins the game for me.

you can call this a rant more than a review but know that this game might not be "the perfect/most underrated game of the century" like some other people might have told you, if you buy this game, don't expect a casual experience in multiplayer, though you might get good enough if you really want to dedicate yourself into this underpopulated game, anyway, I just hope whoever is buying this game don't get the experience the same as how I did.

The multiplayer took everything great about the first one and made it better. The game feels more balanced and there's enough variety in mechs, weapons and gear that you'll keep coming back.

It's a real shame that it's released in the middle of competing with the two long running monster franchises of Battlefield and Call of Duty.

This game deserves a long healthy life and with free DLC coming I hope that encourages those who held off on buying it now to get it later.

-Much more equipment and weapons than in Titanfall 1
-High levels of Pilot customization allowing you to mix and match almost anything
-Great map design that seamlessly works for both pilot and titan game play. Also the maps are varied with some being more open than others allowing for different styles of play and strategies.
-Many balance and pacing improvements from Titanfall 1
-Very well optimized for PC with great graphics even at medium settings.
    -Promise of free DLC

    Cons:
-The story for single player is very generic.
-All the characters are cookie cutter characters.
-Unlike multiplayer pilot customization, Multiplayer Titan customization is very limited. It works for balance reason but make the illusion of more titan options just that, an illusion.
-Some weapons, equipment, and titans are so versatile you may find little reason to use other, more specialized, options.

    Final Judgment:
Titanfall 2 is a fantastic and fun FPS game that has already been proven to be well worth my $60. Respawn as clearly listened to player feedback from both Titanfall 1 and the Titafall 2 beta which have absolutely helped this game. If you can buy only one shooter at the moment my recommendation is Titanfall 2.

Titanfall 2 is a experience crafted with a great level of care and attention; the story is thrilling and places you into a believable yet incredibly dangerous world with your Titan as your guide and shield.

The balanced parkour and action elements make each fight challenging and rewarding and the game's story is extremely interesting to keep players engaged throughout. The relationship with your Titan grows and makes for a much appreciated and tense story with a generous level of graphical and game-play polish the original TItanfall lacked.

My only two gripes is that I wish the campaign was a bit longer despite being a good length. There was also several instances of cheap deaths given how quickly your pilot dies.

Do yourself a favour and play this game if at all you're interested in a good sci-fi story. Titanfall 2 is what the original should have been, players really shouldn't confuse the two given how well this game was executed compared to the first.

They turned the multiplayer in a colored cartoon where enemies glow red and have healthbars over their heads. They removed titan loadout customization and nerfed down the titans to the point that they die extremly fast. If the first game took away the focus from player vs player action having to kill specters and grunts, now you also have to fight these robot reapers who are extremely annoying. Matchmaking sucks once again, but then again a proper matchmaking system would require a high player base. They made the game even more casual but most importantly they removed the whole immersion and military feeling from the first one. The campaign is awesome as they say but its short and not enough to justify for the price. I'm going to stick to Titanfall 1 for now... Expand

The single player campaign even takes a chapter-long break from "narrative tutorial" just for the sake of building the franchise's lore. That instills a lot of optimism in this jaded gamer.

The material shortcoming is the number of players allowed in MP matches. 6v6 or 12-person free for all are as chaotic as it gets. Hardpoint helps to draw the action to limited areas of the map. But even so, there's a little too much running in silence during matches to maintain the excitement levels this game otherwise deserves.

Titanfall 2 is over all very satisfying. Starting off the single player you are quickly introduced to the movement in a small training tutorial that also serves as a gauge for what difficulty to play the game at. Starting off the single player you are quickly introduced to the movement in a small training tutorial that also serves as a gauge for what difficulty to play the game at. For me, it was suggested that I play on hard but I lowered the difficulty to normal simply because I had not played the first game and just wanted to get a feel for the game before I jumped into the multiplayer. So, single player takes you step by step introducing you to your titan, often giving you a new toy to play with just as soon as you get acquainted with the last. The titan has its own AI that will engage in conversation with you making you feel like it is just as much a partner as it is a weapon for war. I will not spoil the story here, but at the end I just felt wanting for more. Not that the story feels incomplete or lacking a true ending, but because most of the story takes play at one location all the while characters hint at a much larger universe. Graphically the game is stylish with large and beautiful terrain of an alien planet. All of which runs at a buttery smooth framerate on my PC, which is still running off of mostly 3 year old parts. One thing that I am compelled to mention is one particular time traveling level where you are seamlessly phasing between two points of time at the press of a button. At one time you are walking through a research facility that appears to have witnessed a catastrophic event over run with unchallenged flora and fauna and the other time point is sometime just prior to the chaos. The two timelines have similar layout but drastically different aesthetic detail that makes the phasing between the two time points all that more impressive. On to the multiplayer side of things, the game is fast, fun, but also cerebral. There are six different types of Titans available each with their own set of abilities. Each titan requiring careful consideration of how to play them, what modes/maps to play them, and how to confront them in titan vs titan combat. For most modes, you may only call in a titan one to three times per match. Enough times that the titans really bring something new to FPS multiplayer, but few enough to make each Titanfall feel like an event. As someone who has primarily played Black Ops 3 over the last year, the thrust jumping, wall running and grapple hook driven mobility was easy to grasp even if it has its own nuances. One problem however is the time to kill a pilot, it feels far too fast meaning that pilot to pilot firefights feel less of a fight and more of a game of hide and seek. Whoever spots the other first and opens fire, will win the encounter. Most frustrating is when you call in your titan only to die before you can climb into it. This does put an emphasis on earning your titan then walking away from the action to call in the titan at relative safety. The titans themselves feel as they should, walking weapons of mass destruction, rightfully capable of one-shoting titanless pilots. Overall Titanfall 2 is great fun and worth the time to play, in this gamers opinion. Expand

The customization is minimal, compared to the first titan fall, and the titan play feels a bit less intiutive.

No longer do titans have shields right off the bat, so the hit and tag gameplay of the previous game no longer exists. No longer can pilots use counter measures as quickly, so expect a successful rodeo to cause the death of your titan.

They did add a lot of player classes to the game... despite them still recycling the old one. TBH, I think they should have kept the old loadout system, so we could have some versatility, but added the new core types and weapons to the mix.

Its not bad, but its not as customizatble as the first titanfall... Its not bad in any way, similar gun play. They try to make up for the lack of customizing your titans weapons by giving you the ability to apply a paint job to your titan... Once again, should just let me customize the titans chasis, weapon, and salvo... like in the first one.... If you couldnt tell, thats my main complaint about the multiplayer, they dumbed down the titan gameplay.

Edit: Made it through the campaign and moved my score from 8 to 10. Campaign was gripping and beautiful and one of the finest I've played in a long time. The Effect and Cause level was absolutely amazing, and the ending actually moved me. Also, haven't stopped playing the multiplayer, and BF1 is collecting dust. This game deserves all the praise it can get!

This is something of a shame as the action scenes are well done but are constantly broken up by this Lara Croft style nonsense to the point where you come to feel the designers had no clear idea of what they wanted this game to be.

I was not impressed either by the need to manually edit a video file to have this game capture the correct setting for a well known graphics card.

All in all if you like the idea of Tomb Raider mixed in with manned battle robots in a futuristic setting you may well enjoy this game. For myself its a disappointment.

This game is everything the first one should have been. There is a (very good, albeit a tad short) campaign, and far more depth to the multiplayer component. The gameplay and gunplay are even a little more satisfying than the first as well. If you liked CoD4/MW2, this game is a no brainer.

TF2 offers a very good, fun and well-designed campaign, often times surprisingly atmospheric. It's strongly reminescent of old-school FPS games like Half Life 2 or Singularity. Unfortunetly, it's not enough to salvage a messy multiplayer, and, given how brief the campaign is, the game needs to be rated primarily by the multiplayer mode. Which, while more varied than in the first game, is also a lot worse in nearly every other aspect.

In short, the game was CoD-ified to hell in a desperate attempt at grabbing a wider player base. It features God-awful map design, totaly unbalanced weapons, clumsy movement (Can't believe I'm saying this about Titanfall), absurdly low TTK, broken Pilot/Titan balance which was so masterfully achieved in Titanfall 1, and the list goes on and on.

There are good ideas in Titanfall 2, but they almost always come off as badly realised. In the end, when the first game, while lacking in content and variety, felt fast, witty, well designed, skill based and intelligent, Titanfall 2 comes of as luck-based, random, often brutish and unbalanced. The brilliant, skill-rewarding gameplay of yore was replaced with the simplistic CoD mentality of "kill, die, repeat".

I don't mind changes between games in a franchise, in fact I am almost always the person to defend them, but nearly everything Titanfall 2 changed is for the worse, often times going directly against the principles that made the first game great.

Once the price drops, play the campaign, it's worth it. And... That's it. The multiplayer is yet another dissapointment in a year of dissapointing releases.

Titanfall 2 single player is the real highlight of the game. Due to the fact that it was missing in the first one the single player was fun although short. The updates they have done in regarding the multiplayer have been great.

Now for the review: This is a great game, a really great game!. My only negative points for this game are:
1: sadly a low multiplayer base, but it´s on a slow incline because of the great reviews and the replayability and the fact that there are no season pass or DLC´s to waste your money afterwards is slowly getting thru to people. oh, and also the free-2-play weekends.
2: a friggin amazing but a little too short SinglePlayer. (but it´s sure replayable)

Otherwise, this is an amazing game that you should not hesitate buying!

The Campaign is fun and finally flushes out some story and much needed background to Titanfall (which was sorely lacking in the first version of this IP) The multiplayer brings me back to the glory days of CoD 4: Modern Warfare... The game that opened the genre to the masses. Modern Warfare was fresh and engaging and had you hooked from the first time you played. TF 2 captures much of that same feeling.

You are able to flush out both your Pilot and Titan to fit exactly your play style, with custom tweaks you can do to their appearance and abilities. Advancement comes relatively easily, and unique features like "Happy Hour" allows you to advance that much quicker. The game is also set up to encourage you to level different class builds. Merits (The games system, of experience) come quicker in low level builds, and the ability to advance the level of your pilot, titan, individual skills and weapons really keeps you engrossed. I find TF2 to be much like playing golf. Even if you aren't very good, you get that round that reminds you why you enjoy playing in the first place.

It is not perfect, but ever since the first Modern Warfare, nothing has quite come as close to a unique and engaging experience to CoD4: Modern Warfare like TF2 has for me. Try it out. It is currently being overshadowed by titles like Battlefield 1 (a great game as well... I would rate it an 8 out of 10) and the next release of CoD: Infinite Warfare (which so far based on early reviews appears to me more of the same)

Titanfall does not have the brand recognition of CoD, but it has a superior pedigree IMHO.

    Legitimate review:
-It doesn't quite have the same feel as the first Titanfall. The maps don't feel as lively but they will be releasing more maps, and for free which is something no other major title does.
-Titans aren't as OP as they were in the first game but I actually think that's a good thing. The worst part of the first TF (besides the horrible loading issues) was dreading the pilot phase because you felt so underpowered and hopeless. You still feel powerful as a Titan, but there's a better sense of balance in my opinion.
-The loadouts are a little imbalanced right now. Grapple hooks are terrible compared to Stim or Cloak and there's no logical reason to use it. Cloak is just ridiculously OP on some maps where backgrounds can give the cloak animation practical invisibility to pilots and the speed boost from Stim needs to be taken down a few pegs.
-They fixed the obnoxious three sequence loading from the first game, thank god.
-The campaign was nice but it was pretty short.
-It feels slightly overpriced for the amount of content offered at launch, BUT this can be forgiven when all future content will be free.

Unfortunately, this game's lifespan on PC is on the brink because of so much negativity surrounding the game so I'd recommend getting it on console since the populations on the dedicated servers will be more robust over the long term.

Overall this game is a solid 8/10, but like I said, 10/10 to counter the trolls.

Before I write my thoughts, know this; I generally don't like FPS. They don't really do anything for me. With that said, Titanfall 2 is such a fun, unique experience, and absolutely the exception. The first Titanfall was good - this one is great.

    PROS:
-Perhaps one of the most innovative takes on what has become a tired and stale FPS genre.
-Absolutely exhilarating combat and movement. Between the grappling hook, wall running, double jumping, LITERAL NINJA STAR BLACK HOLES - you feel like a futuristic space ninja.
-Uses the older source engine, and as a result, it manages to run great and look pretty decent doing so.
-The balance between using a titan and playing as a pilot is fantastic, allowing for whatever playstyle you prefer.
-NO SEASON PASS. All future content such as levels (aside from cosmetics) will be free.
-Great single player story mode. I assumed they would just tack on a story mode because people asked for it, but that's not the case here. It's obvious that real attention and care went into crafting an unforgettable journey.

    CONS:
-Story mode is egregiously short. We're talking four hours here. While I would prefer a short, but great story (which we get here) I don't think quality and length are mutually exclusive. I would have much more preferred a long, but great story.
-Some hickups/bugs in single player. I get occasional hickups where my character can still move, but everything else freezes for a bit. It's not dropping frames, but seems more like some strange kind of lag
-Low player count online. This one isn't Titanfall 2's fault, but I feel like it needs to be mentioned. Most likely due in part to it's bafflingly horrible release date being sandwiched between CoD and BF1, the online player count leaves much to be desired. This makes finding full matches in some of the less popular game modes difficult to impossible.

    OVERALL THOUGHTS:
-If you like FPS or you like sci-fi stuff, you should get this game. In my opinion there just aren't enough good sci fi games out there. Or movies for that matter really. It's seriously awesome and completely unexpected in terms of how good it ended up being. Knowing that they'll continue to support the game with free maps and no season pass is the icing on the cake, and really deserves to be supported in today's industry where cutting out half the game to sell as extra has become the norm.

    Buy it.

The best game I played in years. Respawn fixed all things that annoyed me on the first title, also they didn't add some sh*t from Call of Duty or Battlefield titles. Furthermore no season pass and free life time support for such a game a a huge plus.

Great game, well balanced multiplayer with a fun and arcade-like formula. Think of call of duty play style with giant mechs involved. I am very happy that all the DLC is free and there is no season pass. On top of that, devs are aware that the game is on PC and provided it with great support and overall level of polish (i.e. 4k @ 60fps recommended hardware and many other bells and whistles).

I wouldn't give much stock into what the naysayers have to say about this game.

In this new landscape of **** Mobalike first person shooters and mindless battlefield game, this game stands as a lone example of what a fast shooter should be. Mobility, positioning, situational awareness and aim are what decides games here. Not cooldowns, ults, and spawning behind people. Battlefield 1

Battlefield 1 will outsell this game, and it's a damn travesty. We need more games like this and Unreal 2k4.

    1. UI scaling needs to me mod able like it is in Battlefield.
    2. Hud layout needs simplified and more emphasis set on feeding the player data. with how fast pace this game is the information isnt getting to the player Or is but is so far from the field of view that its impossible to obtain it.
    3. spotting or highlighting of players like BF1 needs to be common place in these fast place shooters...
    4. damage models need looked at.
    5. The weapon handling in the single player is amazing... that didn't translate to the multiplayer it feels like your using toys...
    6. remove the "extra life" at the end of the titans... why is this even a thing...
    7. mouse acceleration is turned on and there is no way to turn it off... please you have Dice to look to in these situations learn from them...
    8. multiplayer "abilities" are what is given to you in single player but moved to be special "abilities". These are common FPS features too... like running and shooting... or fire modes ect... WTF was the multiplayer team thinking when they made this...

Im so frustrated in this game THE SINGLE PLAYER IS THE BEST IVE PLAYED IN YEARS!!!!!!!!!!!! HOW, HOW, HOW................ DO YOU MESS UP FROM THAT. Attrition mode, one of only two with the required number of people in my location to even START a match, just kept cycling. It would get 12 people, say "starting server," then flip back to zero people and start again. There was a total population of roughly 2,600 people even online. It's just crazy less than a month after launch.

This could be/have been mitigated by two things:
    1. Not releasing the game so close to BF1. (That was the wort decision ever)
    2. Use a server browser, so you can at least see the different modes/players and get a rough estimate of wait time. I dislike games without a server browser a majority of the time.

Another thing is (and I'm not including it above) is that I honestly think being on Origin as opposed to Steam is always a bad thing. I personally know people who won't buy on Origin at all because they don't want to have to deal with a second launcher. While I understand it from a cost saving business perspective, no longer releasing their games to Steam does cut down on the possible audience.

No, the single player campaign is great. It's also not particularly long, as is usually expected in a modern day FPS since the singleplayer is there only to compliment the multiplayer, not the other way around. In the end, no matter how good of a campaign, if there's little to no multiplayer base left, there's little reason for someone to spend their hard earned cash on this for roughly seven hours of playtime.

As I said before, it's sad, because this is a really great game. Thanks to EA bungling it's launch, they've damned it to obscurity.

I've giving the single player a 10, but they multiplayer (or lack thereof) a 2, so yeah. Again, it's not that the multiplayer is bad... just barely existent.

The campaign could be a bit longer but is still very enjoyable with each mission having it's own feel to it and own gameplay feature. The "lack" of customisation that the original titanfall had has been made redundant since Titanfall 2 features a lot of customisation options such as pilot camo, gender and weapon camo, Titan's now have camos and war paint to unlock. Titanfall still feels as fast as ever for me and anyone saying that "oh it's the maps that make it hard to chain jumps" is just bad at the game. The lack of gun variety in Titanfall has been answered with multiple new weapons in different categories which can be unlocked and heavily customised. However when it comes to titan weapon customisation they took 1 step foward but 2 steps backwards. This is because there are now around 6/7 different titans to choose from, each working in their own way. However unlike the original titanfall you can no longer choose which weapon your titan will be equipped with. Also the first person animations for entering/exiting titans was removed and that is just dumb to be removed.

Also the smart pistol was removed from multiplayer so that's fantastic.

It is on occasions like this that I really wish PC players weren't permanently tied into their game purchases. A huge disappointment and not a purchase that I would recommend to anybody.

Now you have to jump on them and pull the battery out. But they arent dead after that so you have to jump on them again and throw a nade in the battery case no problem. But you have to do that **** 3 or 4 times until the titan is dead who the **** had this idea ? So ok well maybe its possible to do that if the maps are balanced so that you can hide and jump on it but that isn´t the case. Titan VS Titan combat has been completely and utterly ruined by the removal of regenerative health, and thats not an exaggeration. And get this, the estimated time to find a match (even though the "Network" was evidently full of players) was 15 minutes! Thank God Respawn Entertainment is protecting me from my own stupidity, which would no doubt manifest itself at a server selection screen. Nope, Respawn decides where and who you'll play with for you, because you aren't smart enough to do that yourself. The PC now represents 3% of COD's sales because of garbage like that. No wonder the game didn't sell; anyone who bought Titanfall 1 would have known about the console style matchmaking, and steered clear.

The level design is great, the sound is great, the soundtrack is great and the story is good.

The game has been entirely stable for me. (Source engine) on a AMD FX-8350, Nvidia 780 GTX and 8gb of ram. File size: 36.9gb at launch.

Multiplayer: This is where I ding the -1. It seems for some god awful reason they decided to split some players over different data center servers which has a small and yet annoying effect of splitting the community. This increases the wait time for matchmaking. Especially if you enjoy less popular game modes like CTF.

EA did a bad move placing the launch date right next to their own competition (BF1) and the next COD installment. Respawn are master craftsman at video game design and they're not getting their dues in recognition thanks to this. And lastly, good guy Respawn: no paid DLC maps.

The campaign is good, however, the multiplayer is absolutely, utterly dreadful. Horrible balance issues, especially in regards to the titans, horrible elements implemented from other genres that do not mesh well with FPS games at all, namely MOBAs, and just generally bad decisions plague the experience. The meta of the core game mode, Attrition, is kill mindless AI grunts and avoid other players at all costs, use the points earned from killing grunts to drop your titan, effectively a state wherein you can kill anyone from across half the map and take a good 30 seconds of firing at to take down, uninterrupted, and farm every other player in the server until they assuredly aren't having fun, and win. It has the absolute worst balance between players playing for a quick jerk off of fun and players looking to express some amount of skill. It is simply not fun to play against others. There are few exceptions when it comes to the games, namely in things like PvP without titans or grunts, but they are extremely far and few between; especially when someone would rather use the smart pistol or cold war or melee, weapons and abilities that require expressly and extremely low levels of player interaction in terms of aiming and position to perform well with.

My advice to Respawn, although is just one perspective, would be to go back to the Titanfall 1 titans, melee should hurt for half health instead of insta kill, remove the smart pistol or rework it from the ground up, rework weapons that reward spam instead of something interesting or fun, and tone down the MOBA elements like in Titanfall 1.

It is ironic, when a game adds a single player, because people asked for it, despite it actually being a multiplayer game, and it turns out to have a single player so insanely better than any other game.

The one thing I feel like is missing in this game is a practise room, where you can try out weapons and titans under different circumstances. Sure, there is the story mode where you can try everything, but it takes a while to find those weapons.

Out of the 6, only 2 are any good, and are all you will play or see on the field. Titans have also been nerfed dramatically. Their shield does not recharge, and any damage they take is permanent. The rodeo mechanic in which an enemy pilot mounts a Titan to damage it has been incoherently simplified to "jump on and automatically pull a battery", though there is no reason to ever do this as Titans are so weak a pilot can easily dispatch them with secondary weapons from cover.

An example of the incoherence of the new Titan paradigm is the pre-fab Titan "Ronin". Ronin has the least health of the Titans and is equipped with a sword and shotgun. All play with Ronin must therefore be close range. The shotgun is largely ineffective due to its low magazine capacity, and the sword does no more damage than any other Titan's default melee attack. It is ineffective on attack, and has low survivability. Coincidentally, you almost never see it on the field.

In short, the super advanced bi-pedal tank machines which give the game its name feel underpowered. Your choice of body type, weapon, utility abilities, and therefore preferred playstyle are gone. Again, this doesn't matter as your Titan is so weak you will not be in it for long.
