May 7, 2026Above all, Tides of Tomorrow is an original narrative game concept—and on that front, it delivers. The premise is a success; it works well thanks to a high degree of transparency regarding the impact of our choices—as well as those of our predecessors—and a cohesive narrative integration. This truly serves as the game's central pillar, supporting a meticulously crafted universe; however, it also necessitates a certain simplicity in the design of the explorable locations, ultimately rendering them a bit too conventional. It is a necessary sacrifice for such an ambitious concept, yet one that is felt a little too keenly nonetheless.

May 5, 2026Tides of Tomorrow features an incredibly interesting mechanic and a unique setting, but both are undercut by poorly paced storytelling and a lack of deeper, engaging gameplay. While I would still recommend the game for its unique, indirect multiplayer mechanic, you might find yourself in the same position I was: burnt out on the gimmick early into the game.

Apr 24, 2026Tides of Tomorrow set out to overhaul the choice-based games genre with it's Story-Link feature and, while promising, it is a relatively shallow mechanic. Still, the original wrinkle it adds on top of a solid, albeit flawed single-player choice-based game is a welcome addition to the genre.
