Good game. A souls-like experience with a great setting and cool mechanics. can't wait to see what the developers make in the future ! Recommended !

It's a (very) poor man's Bloodborne. There are much better alternatives on the PC such as MORTAL SHELL or LORDS OF THE FALLEN. Thymesia is just an exercise in mediocrity: mediocre presentation (with absolutely no voice acting whatsoever), mediocre story, mediocre atmosphere, mediocre levels and mediocre enemy design. Why bother?

It's alright. It's a lot like Sekiro with the deflection/parry combat systems with a unique twist on damaging the enemies but it feels as though that doesn't apply to you quite as much. Decent variety due to the different paths you can take with your character and the plague weapon mechanic is quite cool and a pleasure to use but the game seems to lack something. I can't quite say why but the core combat felt incomplete. As for level design, it's pretty good visually and it has the core philosophy of a souls-like with shortcuts and whatnot but it feels lacking, that's not to say that it isn't enjoyable cutting a path to the next boss or bonfire?(I forgot the name) but it's very rough. The bosses feel like the weakest part. There is not much variety in each boss's moveset and they seem to be poorly balanced. It's far from perfect but provides an enjoyable experience for 5-10 hours. Overall: fun souls-like but very rough round the edges and mashes too many mechanics that don't entirely work together. Great if on sale, alright if not. Expand

Probably the weakest Souls Like game I've played lately. It was not very interesting to explore the world of the game. The situation was saved only - good fights and a short duration of the game.

Everything is mediocre in this game. Soundtracks are dull, the lore is boring and basically non-existent ( just few text there and there which explains...nothing, not even cutscenes, most of phantom weapons are useless, very limited interactions between the only two characters in this game.....and is brief too

I don’t know how anyone who is a fan of Souls games can love this game. There is just too much wrong with it. I’m convinced people just flatout don’t understand games. I’m convinced people just flatout don’t understand games. Ok, look, the game does get some things right. Some of the combat is really good and satisfying. Other times, it is terrible. The overall aesthetic is pretty cool, too. They had some interesting ideas, but they didn’t execute them well. Thymesia isn’t completely horrible or anything, but with a VERY inconsistent difficulty, overly-difficult bosses, a lack of weapons, poor and confusing level design, technical issues, hitbox issues, a broken leveling-up system and a very short runtime, I can’t exactly recommend it. When people give games like this 10/10, it gives the developer false feedback. When that happens, they won’t improve their game in areas that need it. They won’t succeed with future projects. Sometimes constructive criticism is a good thing. Team17 shouldn’t give up. They should work on the glaring issues, maybe get more funding and learn from their mistakes. They have the ability to do something great. Remember, it is ok to copy Souls games, but if you do, do it right. Not everything has to be overly-difficult and a tedious slog. Balance is key. Expand

Very nice Souls-like game! Not too hard for the newcomers. Not perfect, but ok

good game. a little iffy parry mechanic but its okay, not very good level design but i must say combat is MORE FUN than dark souls and sekiro to me. way more viable options and cool stuff to do, very nice!

I state that I like linear games but the scenarios are repetitive and boring, little variety of bots, and the combat didn't excite me, even the movement seemed a bit back in time

It's a good game. In fact, one of the best 3D soul battlers I've ever played (not from From Software).
It has a good combat system, an interesting pumping system. Also, the bosses in this game are quite interesting and unique in some way. Of course, it's not the second Bloodborne, but it's a good game.

If you’re a veteran of soulslike games, you’ll find Thymesia enjoyable, yet frustrating at times due to some unfair mechanics. Unfortunately, this is not a welcoming game for newcomers to the genre, so you’ll want to skip this one if you’re finding games like Sekiro and Bloodborne too difficult.

Thymesia is a nice diversion - something that can keep you occupied until the next great soulsborne game gets released. That is its curse. It's a good game, with fast and enjoyable action, but lacks the immersive story and atmosphere, as well as the quality of level design and combat finesse that is expected from such titles.

OverBorder Studio is probably capable of creating a rival to Sekiro, but their first game is just an experimental try.
