    Game is just a buggy mess. They use the excuse that they are a small team, what load of bull crap. They got over 40+ people working on the game (look at the credits in game, there's more than 40 people listed). They lock EVERYTHING BEHIND PAYMENTWALLS. They promised this game wouldn't have the same business model as classic, but it does. Want a ATV, gotta pay, want tents, gotta pay, oh,Game is just a buggy mess. They lock ATV, tents, ground blinds, tree stands, 12+ weapons, decoys and trophy lodges behind payment walls. The base game only contains 2 maps and no more than 20 weapons IN THE FRICKING BASE GAME.     + Stunning map design - nature, weather, water, etc.
    + Good maps - No shooting physics, really. No hit reg, no animations, no recoil, no scopes adjustment . - No animals. All existing animals are piece of joke - they don't even close to real behaviour. - Tons of bugs, glitches. Which won't be fixed, I bet. - Pay-to-enjoy. Want to ride, not wasting your life    + Amazing graphics

    - Tons of bugs, glitches. Which won't be fixed, I bet.
    - Pay-to-enjoy. Want to ride, not wasting your life (hours and hours) - pay, want a quick save - pay for a tent, etc. That must be a default features!
    - Awful inventory design and all hunting features (including rifles, ammo, scopes etc.).
    - Extremely bad co-op with tons of lags

    +- Decent sound design
    +- Decent price

    Good walking and meditation sim, like The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Dear Esther, but NOT the hunting sim.

    Devs should fix their game instead of joining political flashmob. Closing purchases of your products for people of Belarus and Russia is antidemocratic and should be punished.

    A pointless game where you spend 60 minutes of your life and crawl on the ground, looking for an animal, where the animal bleeds very little no matter where you hit it, and the animals run at 100 km per hour.

    I have paid and played this game for over 9 years. Basically, once you get over the fact that you pay, (a lot of), money to play it, I was totally addicted for and would still love it. However, the loading and playing has so many bugs, I have personally experienced 4 total unfixable crashes with which the incompetent help desk just shrugged their shoulders. With a new computer/ windowsI have paid and played this game for over 9 years. Basically, once you get over the fact that you pay, (a lot of), money to play it, I was totally addicted for and would still love it. However, the loading and playing has so many bugs, I have personally experienced 4 total unfixable crashes with which the incompetent help desk just shrugged their shoulders. With a new computer/ windows version I got it going again, just to have it permanently crash again. Do not waste your time or money on this - and this is from an addict of the game.… Expand

    rather scummy game model. basic functions like tents and vehicle travel are paywalled, as are most good weapons. mods are mostly disabled so nobody but the devs can add new content (for cash that is). some quality-of-life mods are broken with the modern weapons pack - probably intentional.
    game is unstable, crashes often, which is very frustrating during missions where large distances are    rather scummy game model. basic functions like tents and vehicle travel are paywalled, as are most good weapons. mods are mostly disabled so nobody but the devs can add new content (for cash that is). some quality-of-life mods are broken with the modern weapons pack - probably intentional.

    If you have way too much time at your disposition, install this "game", crawl like an idiot with the speed of a gestated cow wearing buckets instead of boots chasing animals which run with 200 km/h, track blood stains and droppings from a f.ing wounded deer, which is nowhere to be found 3/4 of the map, fire a headshot with a 7.62 bullet which does nothing to theirIf you have way too much time at your disposition, install this "game", crawl like an idiot with the speed of a gestated cow wearing buckets instead of boots chasing animals which run with 200 km/h, track blood stains and droppings from a f.ing wounded deer, which is nowhere to be found 3/4 of the map, fire a headshot with a 7.62 bullet which does nothing to their titanium-uranium-depleted-alloy heads, harvest some deer in the night (!) for some stupid glitched side quest (doc #21) OR skip this moose old droppings, manage your very precious time and mental health with anything else that adds something useful to your life.

    it seems pretty cool to start, but it's virtually unplayable. gameplay loop is as follows: find animal, shoot it. it NEVER dies. blood trail is always very low, your target will run in ridiculous circles that make no sense and the tracks will only point you towards the direction the animal was facing at that point. if it spins around enough, you will have tracks pointing in every singleit seems pretty cool to start, but it's virtually unplayable. gameplay loop is as follows: find animal, shoot it. it NEVER dies. blood trail is always very low, your target will run in ridiculous circles that make no sense and the tracks will only point you towards the direction the animal was facing at that point. if it spins around enough, you will have tracks pointing in every single direction, and it doesn't leave an actual trail like regular tracking would work. far too many animals leave overlapping tracks to make genuine tracking feasible. follow the animal through the forest for 45 minutes, shoot it a few more times. it STILL DOESNT DIE. blood trail is STILL VERY LOW. run into 10 more of the same species, ZERO INDICATION WHICH ONE WAS MY TARGET. move speed doesnt slow, no limping, not even a wound.

    I saw that there was this sick 70 gb game that my friends and I could play cross platform. Never have I been so excited for a game before. Crushed a mtn dew right as the download finished. My headset fully charged and ands were warmed up. I COULD NOT contain my excitement. Hopped on in with my friend dr. B and we were on our way…. On our way to the most excruciating gaming journey of ourI saw that there was this sick 70 gb game that my friends and I could play cross platform. Never have I been so excited for a game before. All of the poor souls who didn’t wait 6 years for this game to be in game pass should reimbursed their $20 along with a settlement of 1 billlion dollars. I’m surprised I’m not in a coma after sitting there for two hours, wishing I could shoot the developers in game. Please for the love of god, take this game off of all platforms.… Expand

    The developer has no much intention to improve the game, rarely adding new animals now.

    The animal models are as accurate as those of the way of the hunter. The animal behaviours are bad.

    And very hard to use rifles to kill a cape buffallo, no matter which rifle you use.

    Waste of time. The game wouldn't run without turning off firewall, that's your first red flag. The game lacks any meaningful content and it's overall just a walking simulator with occasional gunplay that is almost as fun as any game your average scratch game from a kid's summer camp.

    theHunter: Call of the Wild clearly provides with a realistic feel of hunting. Seasoned hunters would adore it, but it may push away casual players.

    In the end, theHunter: Call of the Wild is a more defined niche game in what is already a niche category. There isn't much appeal for hunting games to begin with, and an even smaller group wants a hunting simulator, especially when there is already a free-to-play version. However, this is a game that requires patience for both the hunting process and the bugs that come along with it. If you can live with that, and you're lucky enough to get a friend or two to join in, then you'll find the game to be a good time. Otherwise, try out the free-to-play version to see if this pacing is right for you.
