    I really like this game. Beautiful world, interesting plot, a world from which i want to see more and especially the unique and memorable charakters took me. Just the combat needs time to get used to.

    one of the best rpgs i ever played,despite the bugs the game is perfect,and the storyline is one of the best of the decade only losing for the other 2 games of the series in my opinion

    I'm gonna keep this short. This is probably one of the best RPGs I've ever played. I was skeptical at first since the graphics have not aged well, and the combat system is a nightmare. This game is kind of like a slow burner, but the more you get invested in the world of The Witcher and the story itself, the more you're gonna love it.     For me, it's even better than Witcher 2. 50 hours of gameplay, good climate, like in book. Very good leveling system and story. 3 possible endings. Fighting is very simple and probably because of engine is one of weakest pont of game but can be enjoyable. I recommend use mod Full Combat Rebalance and we have perfect game.

    The Witcher fait le choix d'une structure relativement linéaire puisqu'on évolue par chapitres. Du coup, au lieu d'explorer un vaste espace complètement vide de sens et s'emmerder au bout de quelques minutes, on se prend au jeu narratif et on suit les chemins prédécoupés jusqu'à notre prochaine cut-scène, combat ou dialogue qu'on attend de toute façon avec impatience. A ce sujet, les comportements de Geralt influent sur le déroulement du jeu et sa fin.

    C'est la qualité de l'univers et du scénario qui font que ce jeu est une telle réussite. Utilisant une base classique mais efficace, le scénario nous entraîne dans des méandres que nous n'aurions pas soupçonnés, le tout relevé par des dialogues savoureux et des situations originales. Les relations sociales de Geralt sont un aspect mineur mais très intéressant du jeu.

    Le système de combat est plaisant et pas trop redondant grâce à son système de combos évolutifs et l'aide apportée par les différentes créations alchimiques comme les huiles, les bombes et les élixirs. The Witcher se distingue aussi par une bande-son de toute beauté malheureusement pas assez étoffée.

    Ajoutez au tableau des graphismes certes plus très somptueux mais toujours de très bonne facture et vous vous retrouvez avec la nouvelle référence du jeu de rôle sur PC et ce pour longtemps. The Witcher est une expérience unique, sensationnelle et réellement captivante. On a tout simplement l'impression de lire un excellent livre.    … Expand

    This game is incredible. It has all the Witcher lore and characters that any fan would love. The gameplay and the user interface aren't brilliant, so be prepared to deal with that. Apart from that everything else is great. It has that sort of hardcore old school RPG feel to it where the game gives you minimal guidance and leaves you to do most of the thinking to very, nowadays, extremeThis game is incredible. I wouldn't recommend it as an introduction to the Witcher universe unless you're into that hardcore old school style of RPGs. I would recommend, instead, either reading one or more of the books or playing the second game. It is much easier to fall in love with this universe if you do that and this specific game becomes a lot better once you do.

    Incredible story, good graphic, for an 12 years old game and the gameplay is very funny. The only problem with the gameplay is the combat, if you are fighting with another enemy who is on a different platform, for example you are in the lake and the enemy is on the land, you could have a bug who doesn’t able you to hit the enemy.

    The gameplay is a bit different then we are used to today. But once you get once you've wrapped your head around it you get use to it and can enjoy this fantastic game for what it is. Can't wait to play it again!

    It took me 3 times to finally get into this game... and it's a shame - this games has a lot to offer. Yes, this game is not perfect. Game has pacing problem - it is especially visible in first chapter (this where I gave up 2 previous times) and with some quest design (a lot of backtracking especially in chapter II). Slow animations, stiff character models and "wooden" voice acting doesn'tIt took me 3 times to finally get into this game... and it's a shame - this games has a lot to offer. Yes, this game is not perfect. Before playing You have to keep in mind that this game was released in 2007... if you can go past this - congratulations, you will have really good experience. CD Project Red did great job interpreting Sapkowski's books and bringing character and world of those books to life. Story has many interesting characters, quite few interesting story turns... And especially chapter 4 has that... lets say "non-western fantasy", more like lovecraftian feeling, which is quite unique among st other fantasy RPGs .     Pure perfection in almost all aspects. Awesome and complex story, various and beautiful locations with perfect atmosphere, interesting characters, simple combat system, and last but not least great romantic cards (best realization of romance in game ever created)!

    It was a great game compared to the fact that many fashion Witcher fans are only willing to play 3. Good story, great choice. The fight is a little weird, but you can get to used to it by time..

I had been a fan of the Witcher books long before this game was announced, unlike vast majority of the fans in the West. And so when it was announced that this game is going to be made, I was really sceptical. A new Polish game studio, with very little experience was trying toThe Witcher is an action RPG released in 2007. It is based on the works of Andrzej Sapkowski. Now where to begin. I had been a fan of the Witcher books long before this game was announced, unlike vast majority of the fans in the West. And so when it was announced that this game is going to be made, I was really sceptical. A new Polish game studio, with very little experience was trying to recreate that unique Witcher atmosphere in a AAA wannabe format? No chance anything good can come of that, I thought. Boy was I wrong! I still remember my first playthrough. Not only it wasn't a disaster, it was actually great. And they nailed the Witcher atmosphere. Lets talk about that for a while. I truly believe that the Witcher is quite unique. Sure there are other, much more brutal and vulgar and obscene and visceral fantasy worlds. But I love the Witcher world for being, at its very core, truly cynical. I just love that. And the developers truly managed to transfer this feeling to this game, which alone is a praiseworthy achievement. But there is so much more to this game. The graphics is very good for its time, with the somewhat bleak colors brilliantly portraying the somewhat bleak reality of the world. The loading screens and story decision cutscenes art is just awesome. The music is great, it fits the Witcher world perfectly. The main theme proved to be such a hit that it remained a main theme (with some changes) for both successor games. I always liked the Murky Waters tavern song, such a merry wedding song in the midst of all the suffering and war. The main story itself is actually very short and quite simple, and honestly, I do not think the mutants were even necessary, but it works anyway. Mainly because it is very often intertwined with the many secondary storylines and together they make a great game. The prologue is a tutorial, Act I gives you much more, but essentially it is closed off and can be considered an advanced tutorial. Then Act II and III are pretty much connected and in my opinion, this is the best part of the game. The game turns into a grim detective genre and again it works excellently. The game does not hold your hand, you must make your own deductions and reach your own conclusions and you can easily make a mistake, which will cost you. The characters are great, believable with typical bitter Witcher sense of humor. Then Act IV takes you into the country, but problems follow you there and add to those that are already there. In Act V you pretty much reap what you sowed. Epilogue gives you the obvious and expected ending, but with one (almost) hidden twist, that you can quite easily miss, which puts it all in a different perspective. One thing that the game has been criticised for is the combat. It is unusual, bit weird, bit repetitive, but it was not a problem for me. I got used to it quickly and then it felt normal ever since. The game does get a bit too easy towards the end, even on the highest difficulty, but that is a normal thing for RPGs. The talents are almost all passive, but with a quite a lot of freedom, so especially sign oriented builds definitely deserve a replay. The next thing I want to mention is the choices. You are making choices almost all the time, some are felt immediately, some are felt only much later, some are not felt at all, but they still affect the world in major way, even though you do not even know about them. Almost like the real world. In the most general sense, you can choose between Humans and Nonhumans. Or you can refuse to choose and remain strictly neutral in a Witcher way. It is great that you have that choice. Throughout the game you can also partake in drinking competitions, bare knuckle fighting and of course the excellent dice poker. One last thing: the romance. This game offers you basically two major romance options and then plethora of trysts (including a tryst with Triss, which can turn into a major romance spanning all three games). Your achievements on the fields of love are then forever recorded in the forms of in-game collectable cards with paintings of said females in often quite revealing positions. One of the greatest gaming ideas of all times. And all these things together make up the fantastic atmosphere I mentioned before. A bit dark, a bit sad and really cynical. I have nothing negative to say about this game. I played on PC and completed the game in about 50 hours. Naturally, no microtransactions and no SJW. A Witcher 1 remake is now in development and once again I am pretty sceptical and cynical about it. It will be open world, which might change the gameplay drastically. I truly hope none of the modern world SJW netflix cancer will affect this remake. By the way, don't you dare touch the sex cards.

    The Witcher is a fantastic game, that was somehow followed by two even more fantastic games. The more I play this excellent game, the more I am convinced that the remake is utterly unnecessary. Final Verdict: 95 %    … Expand

    Amazing take on the books and an amazing RPG with interesting characters and quests. It excells at atmopshere of the witcher. Graphics is good for its time even though some npcs are pretty scary. Geralt is portrayed as he should be here and all other characters as well. Good skill tree and combat is kind of clunky and too simple but not that bad.

    What can be said, this is where it all started (well the regular edition about a year earlier IIRC).
    Have been through the game 6-7 times, always same choices (eh I like it consistent).
    Some criticize the combat mechanics (more like the controls) but it is not that bad.

Да игра иммет саои недостатки, хотя тогда у CDPR не было ТАК много денег, в основном мне не понравились повторяющиеся моделки и DLC (кроме DLC "Цена нейтралитета" и там где Геральт собирал деньги, чтобы освободить Лютика). В остальном игра ну ОЧЕНЬ классная. Персонажи, гг, злодеи, шутки, игры, квесты, всё на высшем уровне. Понравилась концовка с белым хладом, я не ожидал, что Орден ыляющей розы станет ТАКИМ.… Expand

    Боевка довольно специфичная, да и графон уже безнадежно постарел. Однако сюжет и атмосфера игры стоит того чтобы ее пройти. Однозначно ждем ремастер от поляков.

    One of the best RPGs of all time! I can't believe the many choices that completely alter the entire game! You have so much freedom and the game reacts to your difficult, grey choices. Almost no other game does what the Witcher does. It's soooo good!

    Шикарний сюжет, атмосфера на височенному рівні, музика пробирає до кісток, графіка на той час навіть дуже приваблива. Один мінус на теперішній час казуали можуть нити від геймплею.

    The story was amazing and definitely worth my time. Graphics are of course a bit old but not terrible. Game mechanics are good, but the combat is a bit boring at times.
    All in all a great experience!

Да и геймплей вполне не плохой. Сюжет держит в напряжении всю игру. Единственное, за что снял балл, так это боевка. Она слишком простая, вы просто нажимаете одну кнопку и убиваете всех противников. Еще пол балла яСильно затягивает, сюжет хороший да и в принципе вся игра очень интересная. Даже в 2020 году играется вполне бодро, не смотря на старый графен, который, кстати, не режет глаза. Да и геймплей вполне не плохой. Сюжет держит в напряжении всю игру. Единственное, за что снял балл, так это боевка. Она слишком простая, вы просто нажимаете одну кнопку и убиваете всех противников. Еще пол балла я бы снял за зелья, бомбы и прочие вещи, которые спокойно можно не использовать и труднее вам от этого не будет. Но все таки не решился ставить ниже 9, так что всем советую ознакомиться с этой игрой. P.s. советую начинать серию игр именно с неё, но даже не из-за сюжета, а из-за геймплея, который меняется в следующих частях. Так у вас не будет дискомфорта при игре в первый Ведьмак.… Expand

    Una experiencia magnífica, con personajes interesantes, ambientaciones maravillosas, una banda sonora envidiable y un story-telling increíble. El único problema de haber jugado este juego en 2019 es el control, viejo y tosco, con combates mediocres casi siempre. Lo recomiendo mucho si os llama la atención la saga.

    An amazing game, from an exciting storyline to interesting game mechanics. In this game, I was so imbued with the atmosphere that I just couldn't tear myself away from passing. And the soundtrack of this game is worthy of all awards and respect for the developers. One of my favorite games.

    Поиграл в нее после 3го ведьмака. Графон и геймплей ,конечно, очень плохи, но я готов стерпеть их ради Этого мира, Этой истории и Этих персонажей

La historia es grandiosa y es sorprendente como un personaje como Alvin puede pasar desapercibido en un principio y después (ya como Jack de Aldesberg) se convierte en el enemigo final. Las menciones a la cacería salvaje y el final con el atentado contra el rey de Temería son simplemente una maravilla. Ahora bien, en cuanto al apartado técnico deja un poco que desear (no puedes saltar ni correr) y el gameplay le falta un poco para estar al 100% de su capacidad, le falto corregir ese detalle. El juego en general me gustó y jugarlo en su momento fue bueno.… Expand

    I've played this game so many times I can't even remember. Sure it has some rough edges, but this makes it even more entertaining. Especially with all mods the game actually stands tall even in comparison with new games like TLOU.

Estos personajes dirigen las historias y motivan al jugador a preocuparse profundamente por sus decisiones.

    Para rematar la aventura narrativa, la elección del jugador es omnipresente durante todo el juego. Hay múltiples decisiones difíciles de tomar sobre los eventos importantes, y varias razones para favorecer cualquier camino dado. Esto pone peso detrás de sus elecciones, ya que cada decisión que tome podría traer devastación; cada elección podría conducir a un mal mayor. El juego muestra hábilmente que comprende la importancia de la consecuencia, ya que el epílogo no es más que una prueba mordaz de ti como Geralt de Rivia, y las elecciones que has hecho durante la duración de tu partida.

    Aunque es cierto que soy muy parcial debido a mi obsesión con cada ápice de esta franquicia, reproducir TW: EE me ha ayudado a darme cuenta de que es uno de mis diez mejores juegos de todos los tiempos.     El juego que asentaría las bases para una de las mejores sagas de videojuegos de la historia, esta un poco verde en la mayoría de aspectos del juego, pero se va perfeccionando poco a poco en los próximos juegos, el basarse en los libros pero no copiar la historia ni hacer una continuación directa me parece fantástico y una gran elección.

    Очень не до оценённая игра своего времени, как по мне, и если вы всё ещё не пробовали игру, то попробуйте. Вас она будет бесить тем, что всё морально устарело. Но с 10-го часа вы начнёте получать удовольствие от всего, если не раньше. И вам даже понравятся резко все ваши первые 10 часов.     Если бы не 2 DLC для третьего Ведьмака, то первая часть для меня была бы лучшей в серии без каких либо шуток или иронии это действительно очень недооцененная игра не только в серии, но и вообще в истории.
    CD Projekt любят вселенную Ведьмака и в первой части видно как много сил и души они вложили в неё.     Great game. The time check was accurate. The main problem is in the combat system, which is incredibly tiring in the first 3 chapters. The plot and the choices are excellent. Perfect to play for everyone who has passed the 3rd witcher and who generally loves RPGs or the universe of the witcher.

    The best aspect of this game is the side missions and the story. The weakest aspect is definitely the combat it's just too outdated. The lowest point for me was the fourth chapter it just drags for too long and it feels unnecessary the game would have been much better without it.

    My fav singleplayer game, and I would recommend this game to anyone. Great story, OST, gameplay, anything. Controlling is not even that hard like people think. Also lotta mechanics and variability in builds, as well as the choices you can make, will definitely make you replay this game at least once.

As I played on further, it got more interesting and it ran good on my system configuration. But later on I started feeling bored because of too many fights and the final chapter was lit. The character got so much powered up that it could defeat any of the mutants. So, I think if there would have been little less fights then it could have been better.… Expand

В The Witcher под нашим управлением оказывается ведьмак Геральт, персонаж серии книг Анджея Сапковского, но он потерял память, и для него все, что происходило в книгах, незнакомо, поэтому он в каком-то смысле заново знакомится с миром, а мы вместе с ним (правда, не совсем понятно, как он при этом по-прежнему владеет боевыми навыками, алхимией и магическими знаками - камень в огород приема с потерей памяти). Вместе с другими ведьмаками он отправляется на поиски в разные части света, посещает предместья Вызимы, саму Вызиму, квартал за кварталом, болота, Темнноводье и другую часть болот. На пути ведьмака возникают различные опасности, начиная со всевозможных тварей и монстров и заканчивая людьми, так или иначе потерявшими человеческий облик. В арсенале присутствуют серебряный и стальной меч, а также двуручное и одноручное оружие, которое можно поднимать у врагов и покупать у торговцев, как и доспехи. Игра сделана в духе классических RPG от Bioware, к тому же на ее движке. И все равно она поражает проработкой и улучшениями, добавленными непосредственно от CD Project Red. Как минимум графика для 2007 (2008) года смотрится очень хорошо. Что еще я могу по ней сказать. Сюжет - выше всяких похвал, серьезно, здесь присутствуют как хорошие клиффхенгеры, так и закономерные последствия выбора игрока, которые особенно ярко проявляются в финале, и нельзя сказать, какая концовка наиболее удачна - мы всегда выбираем "меньшее зло". И этого бы не было без простых, но глубоких диалогов и персонажей с их особенностями. Осталось мне пройти "Ведьмак 2" и "Ведьмак 3", и я наконец полностью проникнусь вселенной и серией. 10 бутылок спирта из 10.… Expand
