This prison lies in a qualitative limbo. The monsters are gorgeous bundles of slime and metal; the atmosphere is dense and layered; it can, on occasion, give you real heebie jeebies. [Aug 2004, p.85]
-
The ambient sounds are great, and the monsters are creepy and well designed, but it isn't long before players figure out the patterned A.I. for each creature and start breezing through the game.
-
The language does get a little tiring, although some of it is pretty funny, at least the first time through.

Computer Games MagazineThe visual artistry that sustains the atmosphere is a bit hit-and-miss. [Sept 2004, p.70]
-
Gameplay is fairly solid and the creature design alone is enough to make the game worth playing., but staunch fans of the survival horror genre might find the game lacking a bit in the horror department. The endings were all unsatisfying and ultimately detract from the story.
-
Computer Gaming WorldA fairly standard action game redeemed by some true suspense and fear. [Oct 2004, p.79]
