The Sims: Castaway Stories is the first game in the entire series that really feels different despite being based on the same engine and principles. It shows the series still has plenty of room for growth, and that perhaps the endless expansion packs are not bad things.
-
Castaway Stories is a competent game, a good starting point for those unfamiliar with the series, but may not justify the investment in medium term.
-
Play (Poland)Drop the plural, there is only one story - and repeating it with a sim of the opposite gender doesn't change a thing. What's worse, however, is that there is nothing new about this whole affair. It's amazing to what lengths the creators went to ensure that this "castaway" adventure feels like any other sims on vacation tale. There is even a cell phone made from a shell! The story itself is quite interesting and compelling, pity that after finishing it you can dispose of the game. [March 2008]

Oct 10, 2020Very fun addition to the series. I was weirded out at the beginning, but after a while I got used to the new setting and RPG-like style of it.
