I had had some proviso before I first played with The Sims 4, but all of them flew during the time was flowing. The truth is, some usual element isn't in the game but it is in The Sims 3. I will give it a 3 just because it is fun WHEN you can play. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game(s) and origin client 20 times since I bought it. Keep it minimized and you may be ok, but DO NOT shut it off. They have me being timed out of the forums now so I cannot complain.

The game is fun and interactive. It gives you the feel of being in a real world. I think it would be more fun for someone new to the sims because I miss sims 3. I will admit there are a lot less bugs but I miss the free roam neighborhoods and being able to go to another house without have to wait 5 minutes for it to load. I give it an 8 because i think it still has a chance to turn around. The game is fun and interactive. It gives you the feel of being in a real world. I like it.
The only thing that bothers me are 2 things :

    - You have to buy every fcking DLC
    - Some Mods (which are actually pretty good) require paid membership (modding websites) what's so stupid

Since i didn't paid for it, im completly fine with it. But buying it for real € is waste. Get it cracked from fitgirl or some other repackers and you're good to go.

Sims 4 is a huge step forward in the mechanics of the game and the a.i. of the sims, everything feels more natural and immersing compared to sims 3 which is beginning to age and feel very clunky.

I love how each sim feels very unique and actually have a personality, if you give them certain traits their personality and choices reflect that without your input unlike sims 3 where every sim felt like exactly the same and required your input to progress them.

I love that the neighborhood is segmented into different areas so the game overall runs extremely smooth and my fps never drops even if their is a huge party with tons of sims. My load screens only last 3 or 4 seconds so no complaints about that.

I am extremely hopeful that Maxis will introduce expansion packs to expand the seasons and the generations so I can watch my sims grow up and go to school live an entire life cycle, that's the only thing that the game is missing in my opinion.

Sims 4 is a huge step forward in the core mechanics, graphics, and A.I. but it also lost all of its previous expansions and content but the game will continue to grow and improve with time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

The game is really cool, but 90% is going to come in DLC's that together are going to cost more than $500. Unfortunately there is no other game like The Sims avaible, so we will still have to play TS2.

First I was sceptic when my thirteen year old daughter asked me if she could have the game. Even if I wasn`t so sure about the sex-based interactions of it, I let her buy it and played it myself for a while. After that, I was totally convinced! It`s a lot of fun, teaches you responsibility, and it's also extremly funny at some times. It`s a lot of fun, teaches you responsibility, and it's also extremly funny at some times. Dying is shown comically, and one of the best things is that People can come back as ghosts ;), and the word Sex itself is never used, but is referred to as Woho, messing around or trying for a baby, which is also the only way a Sim can get pregnant. I think it's harsh that some critics say there is violence in the game. There is no blood, nothing is broken and (my personal feeling) fights are extremly rare and again, look comic.
Final Word: Sims is a great game for kids from the age of twelve or more, and don't hesitate to let you or your kids buy it!

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Expand

As someone who generally plays The Sims for house building and less on actually playing the game, I am going to base my review on that aspect of the game. On one hand, I love the graphics of Sims 4 and how there is generally less lag than Sims 3. Another great Sims game.

The only con for me, is that it doesn't have open world and cars. But everything else is great and fun! I doon't really get the people that are just complaining and complaining. Yes, I get that it isn't as good as Sims 3, but it still is a great game, and it still gets new gamepacks, so it may some day be as good as Sims 3.

A very addictive game. Maybe it isn't as good as the previous Sims releases, however it is definitely worth a play.
However, the base game doesn't come with much content, and if you want the full game experience, you have to pay hundreds of dollars for all the expansion, game and stuff packs they release. While they are worth getting if you play the game lots, they are really overpriced.

I've played this game on and off since it came out, and jumped back in because of the pet expansion. I played pretty feverishly for a few days and am currently on another "cool down" phase with the game. I'll probably buy another expansion and jump back in when summer break is here, though. :-)

While its major flaws, being the closed world and the lack of Create-a-style, likely won't be fixed because they're hard wired into the code, many missing aspects were handed out after the release over the past five years. Going back to the release version of The Sims 4, and my personal experience, it was quite unpolished indeed, but I'm glad so many bumps were ironed out, and being released by EA I didn't expect this to happen free of charge.

While an enjoyable title that has been polished up and seems generally very modern, it cannot be expected that The Sims 4 is not going to be compared to The Sims 3. In this respect, it seems that while the game took a few steps forwards, it also took a few steps backwards by abandoning features that were very helpful and appreciated in the previous versions. It does have new features that people have been waiting for, such as emotions and more personality for the Sims. As for now, for some players it may not quite be worth to abandon The Sims 3 for it, but for new players looking for a first experience with the franchise, they may have an easier time navigating than former The Sims 3 players. People that have previously enjoyed the latter may be disappointed by the menus (Sim creation, building, or navigating town), as they have been so massively oversimplified that they are now actually confusing.

The Sims 4 is just a foundation of a game. How would you react if you bought a new Elder Scrolls game and realized that half of the cities are unavailable (because TES6: World Adventures is around the corner), there are only 4 weapons (TES6: Accessories), you can’t ride horses (TES6: Pets), there are only 12 quests (TES6: Careers), 2 guilds (TES6: Friends) and 3 spells (TES6: Supernatural)?
