    The actual construction of the expansion is solid, and the new features definitely put a new spin on playing the game, but the amount of content doesn’t fit the price.

    The amount of variety that comes with the clubs is outstanding and the developers have outdone themselves with this feature, which I believe makes it a worthwhile purchase.

    The vast amount of options that are available with The Sims 4: Get Together's new club mechanic will add plenty more hours of fun for existing fans of the base game, but I don't think it's quite enough to entice dissatisfied players back to the series.

    The main reason to buy The Sims : Living Together is the group feature that allows multiple sims to do an activity together. Beyond that there isn't much to see and as usual the value isn't great.

    The game is not without some technical issues, with crash bugs and UI glitches needing to be addressed, but for anyone still invested in The Sims — or curious to see how the game has evolved since 2014 — this expansion is worth picking up.

    The Sims 4: Get Together utilizes the new club system to have new experiences, ways to play, and is a great social feature. Although it is a great expansion and allows for new and exciting gameplay, it fails to bring enough to the table for new players or people looking to get back to the Sims franchise.

That being said: EA delivers here an experience that truly does justice to their self-proclaimed "you rule"-tagline. Windenburg, the clubs themselves, the new lots, new cas and build or buy mode objects are a product in a class of its own.

    Would have given it 10/10 if it was not for minor bugs. The clubs sometimes don't perform certain rules and the autonomy seems glitchy at times. But this is nothing they can't fix with a patch.

    Get Together was announced for a November release a few months back but the dev team decided to push it back to get a little more done and how does it fair?

    The main selling point of this DLC was the whole new "beautiful city of Windenberg" and "clubs". The clubs are a neat little gimmick where you can set up any sim in them (some are invite only requiring you to get to know someone in them beforehand and others are immediate join). The game comes preloaded with a nice choice of clubs to join and if none of those please you or your sim, you can create your own in a very nice, advanced set up system where you can base it off of age, skills, careers, hobbies, etc. Each pre-existing club comes with some people whom you can meet and hang out with and start a web of connections with as well. This whole pack comes with a plethora of new social interactions. And unlike Get to Work, the venues where you meet and hang out are actual venues where you can visit. In Get to Work, the career places were existent but unable to be visited unless at work, if you know what I mean.

    Now I haven't explored all of the clubs yet, but my sim is in the DJ and Dancing club and I find this extension to be fantastic! My sim took over the club and became the leader and I plan to eventually do the same with some of the others or ones I decide to create. The new text message system makes things more realistic and even with the update, I see the sims being more realistic and sophisticated. They're no longer as robotic as those in Sims 2 and Sims 3.

    Windenberg, the heavily advertised new community I found was somewhat disappointing. The entertainment area, where a lot of the club hang outs are, is really neat and fun but the residential lots were somewhat disappointing. There are only 2 empty lots and the rest require you to replace existing houses. The architectural style on some of the lots I find can be quite polarizing as they are mainly European styled buildings and with that comes a lot of European styled objects in build mode. I haven't explored the whole city yet but I give that aspect so far a 7/10. I'll have to edit some of it for sure. The maze in the haunted house is quite a neat addition though. And along with that comes a new lot size: 64x64 (and you thought 50x50 was large!). I'm ready to see what others come up with for that on the origin community. Windenberg could've been a bit larger and a little more empty, imo, but I do love the new lot size.

    The build mode/cas items are great though and there are tons of new items to use. They range in all different directions: European, modern, casual, formal, etc. They're all over the place and exciting. If there was one place that this expansion excelled, it was certainly the number of items for sure.

    The DJ and Dancing skills added were a nice new addition and your sims can do more than just the Carlton dance thankfully but I see just that aspect as being a free add-on or perhaps even in the base game, but I won't complain about new additions. It's welcome and honestly it is a lot of fun.

    Now the big question: is it worth it? For me, I say yes. It's quite a hefty price tag, but you know Sims expansions are always and have always been $40 since the beginning of time so that's to be expected. But it depends on what you're looking for. If you want your sims to be more realistic and engaging and have more social cliques and sophistication, then you'll fall in love. If you want more expanded linear gameplay with an agenda, then you'll be disappointed. Overall I'm happy with this expansion and I'm glad I don't feel ripped off as I was afraid I would feel that way. But I give it an 8/10 just from the less than satisfactory neighborhood (especially after all the hype and advertising), but it's still a very welcome addition to a game that is blossoming more and more each day that passes. This would be a definite 10/10 if it were a $20 game pack but it's still worth its $40 price tag if it's what you're looking for with more social and engaging sims.    … Full Review »
