Sep 30, 2020Peril on Gorgon is a great DLC for players who want more The Outer Worlds. Peril on Gorgon does a very good job with its Sci-fi Noir style story and successfully written dialogues. Sadly, the fact that it does not bring any extra innovations is a little bit disappointing.
-
Sep 11, 2020Peril on Gorgon, the first DLC released for The Outer Worlds, maintains all of the pros and cons we've already seen in the base game. The plot is intriguing while the characters remain the true highlight, but combat is a bit lackluster and optimization underwhelming.
-
Sep 9, 2020The first DLC therefore appears capable of offering fans of The Outer Worlds what they needed: a pleasant excuse to return to visit the system of Alcione.
-
Sep 9, 2020The Outer Worlds: Peril on Gorgon is a good DLC, which adds a few hours of gameplay to the base game, without rev the formula or having much new to say.
-
Sep 9, 2020Quotation forthcoming.
-
Sep 9, 2020Peril on Gorgon is an entertainingly substantial chunk of The Outer Worlds content, with a handful of side-quests that will keep you poking around the planet until you’ve seen every inch. It may not push the envelope, but it’s good, clean, corporation-crushing fun. And it’s made me eager to see just what the The Outer Worlds’ next expansion will bring.
-
Sep 9, 2020Mechanically unambitious in that it doesn’t introduce any new ideas to change up gameplay, but it does take the crew of the Unreliable to several new locations around the Hyperion system as it unveils a fairly lengthy and entertaining detective story.
-
Sep 9, 2020Not a bad expansion but not even a very good one, Peril on Gorgon can be an enjoyable return to the Halcyon colony for those that can't wait to play some more of The Outer World. For everyone else, it may be better to just wait for a sale... or the next DLC.
-
Sep 11, 2020If you really enjoyed The Outer Worlds and need a reason to play again, or have been hankering for more, then Peril on Gorgon is worth checking out.
-
Sep 9, 2020Without being frankly unavoidable, as much because of its rather poor ancillary content as the low contribution of new features that it brings to the original game, Peril on Gorgon nevertheless remains solid in the story it tells.
-
Nov 16, 2020Is this a bad DLC? Fortunately, no. You'll definitely enjoy it, but a feeling of disappointment will constantly keep you company during this adventure, as it could be something a lot better than simply "more of a good thing" kind of deal. In other words, Peril on Gorgon is just one more quest line to complete - one that's fun, but not any different than what came before it.
-
Sep 10, 2020Peril on Gorgon is largely more of the same as what's found in the original game, with a bit more of a focus on exploration than questing. It's a fine addition for those who just can't get enough, but I feel it is not enticing enough on its own to spend $15 to revisit the game if you already completed The Outer Worlds months ago.
-
Sep 9, 2020Players who are looking for more The Outer Worlds will likely be happy with Peril on Gorgon, but people who were hoping for something as dramatic and deadly as Fallout: New Vegas' DLC offerings like Dead Money or Lonesome Road may be left wanting. It's a great addition to a quality title, but it's not different enough to justify the separation from the main game's story, and overall Peril on Gorgon feels more like a side quest which could have been easily included in the original version of The Outer Worlds rather than costing players an extra $14.99 USD.

Sep 30, 2020As a big fan of The Outer Worlds, I found Peril on Gorgon to be another fulfilling dive into this fascinating universe, giving me more of what I loved about the original game. It doesn’t break any new ground, aside from the addition of some audio logs and some new weapons. But that’s okay. Great DLC isn’t a sequel, it’s a 10-hour expansion on what made the original game so good. In other words, if you loved The Outer Worlds and want to encounter more tough moral choices, crazy science weapons, and engaging characters, you should check out Peril on Gorgon. I certainly had a blast roleplaying a hard-boiled interstellar detective/starship captain, and it only made me excited for more DLC in the future!
-
Sep 9, 2020Peril on Gorgon tells a compelling and unsettling story about work dehumanization mixed with an intriguing family mystery. Despite the lack of new gameplay content, it is a recommended DLC.
