With contemplative themes, it's a well designed game that eloquently soothes me.
Fun gameplay too! Progression in the game is genuinely satisfying.

It's incredibly hard to describle this type of game. I don't want to resort to old-fashioned comparisions but in this case it's the best I can do.

It's incredibly hard to describle this type of game. I don't want to resort to old-fashioned comparisions but in this case it's the best I can do.

The friends of Ringo Ishikawa is a Shenmuenesque Open-World Beat'em up with Slice of Life Elements peppered up with some time managment. The visuals and music make it a very unique yet similar experience to Shenmue in its foundation: it's life. Mundane, weird, unpredictable. It's up to you how you spend your time: beating some punks up to get by or trying to study and earn your monthly scholarship to have some fun playing pool. It's a relaxing and thought-provoking story on life, time and our own way in it.

There is only one minor criticism towards the whole experience: the ending. There is no ending to life whether we are alive or not. The way the developer presents your final point in the game may ruin your overall experience making everything you've done on your journey pointless. Just be warned, not everyone is going to like this attitude. It's abrubt and very unsatisfying.
Hence, minus one point for sacrificing the logic of the narrative for the authors' final message which might completely contradict your playstyle and experience with the game.
    Must buy for sure.
