    Simply a terrible game. I was really excited for this but they've gutted it and ruined what was left. There are a multitude of reviews both on Steam and elsewhere so I won't wax poetic about it all.

    Simply put: They removed 3/5ths of the game for various reasons, didn't improve any of the glaring problems, the tutorial explains very little to nothing, and the gameplay is atrocious.     I'm VERY impressed on how good the "port" is, how many options we have and how good the controls are - both keyboard (2 possible bindable keys for every action, I always love that) and mouse (cancel with right click, super convenient). I'm surely not used to expect this level of attention to detail for an old port, especially from japanese devs. Excellent, just excellent.

    Love the art direction and the voice acting (Japanese) so far is quite good too. Music is fantastic, they don't write those timeless soundtracks anymore. Mechanically is just FFT, but that's what we wanted, what we expected and what we like in a game like this.
    On a negative note, the graphics uses a Super2XSal filter. It look like they smeared vaseline on the game and it is ATROCIOUS and I wish we could disable that.    … Expand

    My favorite story in a game ever. Pure masterpiece.

    Gameplay is great, though there is plenty of comparables in the genre. Very few games ever made get close to its narrative though.

    It is the best game I have never missed in my life game rankings since 1995.

    I have 200 hours at this point, it made some choices that lowers creativity however it made every single fight engaging and harder than the PSP version, this is an amazing experience all fans of SRPGs should play at least once.

    A truly classic underrated masterpiece, the Super Metroid of tactics games, now with an amazing remake available in almost all platforms.     Story is epic as ever, and have some little surprises here and there for the fans.

This is the spiritual progenitor of Final Fantasy Tactics. If you enjoy mastering complex systems and tactics games in general, then this is the game for you. If you enjoy mastering complex systems and tactics games in general, then this is the game for you. There have been some simplifications from the PSP version for the better that keep you engaged in battles and their objectives. The crafting system from the PSP version has had a huge overhaul and is not as tedious as it used to be. You can mass craft items all at once up to 999 per item instead of the constant button spam one had to do in the PSP version, crafting one item at a time. This is only the cream on the surface.

    I can only hope SE will do the same level of polish for the rest of the series: Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen, Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber, and Tactics Ogre: The Knights of Lodis.

    This game's design and mechanics are horribly dated, and it shows. Unfortunately, by the time you figure this out (early Chapter 2), it's too late - you're well beyond the 2 hour refund window, because everything is designed to be time-consuming and tedious.

    With improved presentation and various quality of life changes, Tactics Ogre Reborn is a worthy remaster in all areas except for one. However, that one ends up being one of the most important as with poor balancing of difficulty with union levels and an overly inflated HP pool, it became an absolute chore to play early on in the experience and never quite recovered.
