    Green Planet is a decent expansion adding quite a bit to the endgame, without enhancing the main elements, though.

    Surviving Mars, it turned out, was little more than a plucky little rover, diligently raking the regolith to make a place for the main rocket to touch down. Now, however, the eagle has landed, and it’s a bloody lovely bird.

    In the end, Green Planet and Project Laika are interesting DLCs. Taken together, they add several gameplay and cosmetic features, and the former significantly alter playstyles if you decide to go for the terraforming. While Project Laika is cute and fits the game’s overall “feel good” vibe, I do feel Surviving Mars is consistently stripping away its identity with each of its main DLCs. Regardless, if you enjoy or the game or want to try turning a barren planet into a giant planet-wide forest, give Green Planet a shot.

    A solid expansion for a great game. I don't think that Green Planet does anything particularly amazing, but it's a fun addition to the baseA solid expansion for a great game. I wish that it felt like there was more of a point to the transforming mechanics, but they are still fun to use and work well within the overall game structure.

    PS: The other use review on here mentions a "game breaking" sphere. This is one of many "crisis" events that happen in the game (you get one crisis, randomly selected from a list per game). You can turn these off or pick a specific one if you don't like them very much. I do think the sphere crisis can be particularly punishing, but it is beatable if you are an experienced player.    … Full Review »

Don't want to post any spoilers but DO NOT interact with the sphere once you find it. It will trigger a chain reaction of events that will completely destroy your game UNLESS you are SPECIFICALLY prepared for it. I spent 10+ hours on a great terraforming colony and then accidentaly started this event, 50 sols later all my resources were drained as I tried to reactively handle.… Full Review »
