For all the changes in Starfleet Command Volume II, it's basically just a slightly improved version of the original.
-
GamePowerPerhaps the most impressive new feature in Volume II -- and the reason you'll want to go buy this game (today, if the stores haven't closed yet by the time you read this) -- is a revamped campaign engine that operates in both the single-player and multiplayer game modes.
-
The fundamental tactical combat engine is excellent and the hundreds of ship types and the multitude of weapon combinations should serve to provide literally hundreds of hours of enjoyment for any strategy fan.
-
Besides these minor quirks, SC2 is a deep and complex foray into the Star Trek universe. The sheer amount of acronyms for the different spaceships alone is a testament to that fact.
-
It is like "Diplomacy," "Privateer," and "Space Combat" merged into one. The thrill will linger for a long time as the options seem endless.
-
If you want an exciting starship combat simulator that presents some real challenge, this is the best.
-
It's deep, lengthy, and has a lot to offer to those who are willing to take the time to appreciate it.
-
The amount of detail present in this title is staggering, from the complex interface to the convoluted plotlines and the history of the ISC member races.
-
Daily RadarFor the player who relishes a realtime space strategy simulation, nothing can touch the depth of this game.
