I am not reviewing sc1, that game was great. This score is for the remastered edition.

Ladder and profiles stats don't work on battlement EU.
HD graphics are nice, but sc1 had much darker color pallet. The new version is too shiny for me.
People are finding bugs and performance issues.
Blizzard could have done much better job with this one.

Nostalgia for the sake of it.
Blizzard has not improved upon the game as many of the remasters have done recently. Still the rally, queue. selection, controlling annoyance of two decades past are there.
What is the point of this for a strategy game player of 2017?
Only meant for esports event in South Korea. Pointless for rest of the world and players.

Shameless cash grab. All they have done is give the graphics a lick of paint. Stuff like path-finding is still horrendous. Feels like your fighting the game not your opponent. Not fun.

A shameless cash grab. Could have been called an HD texture pack. Way overpriced for what you get, much ragrets.
The videos are still even interlaced, the only really noticeable improvement is the command interface, otherwise this would have gotten a 0

I was pretty excited for this, I was expecting the game to be using the Stacraft II engine and to have those more realistic landscapes. Instead, it looks like some units, buildings and the minerals got an upgrade but its the same stale and flat landscape. I was also hoping for updated cinematics. Nope. Unit portraits and the Episode screen seemed to of gotten the most attention. I assumed we'd get what we have now in SC2. Rally points etc. Nope. Create an SCV.. Rally it to minerals.. it goes to them and just sits there. C'mon Blizzard.. this is incredibly lazy on your part.. Fix this and make it a TRUE remastered not whatever this half-hazard effort is. Expand

Unfortunately the enhanced edition is not nearly as good as the original, even it seems like it only focuses on graphics.
When units move and rotate and change their sprites according to orientation it feels as if the different angles are misaligned and this makes them seem to move in a very choppy fashion.

There is an odd lack of quality in the aesthetics of units and buildings, it does not reflect the usual quality you expect from blizzard by far.

Even though this should not be a demanding game in terms of performance there are constant performance spikes and choppy game play. Mixed with the issue above this makes for an unpleasant experience.

The scaling of the units on screen is too large. I understand that if the screen res was higher, units and buildings smaller and therefore more of the map visible on screen then this affect game play. Unfortunately the way it is units just seem massive.

It's not worth your money, this pack changes the original Starcraft into what feels like a seriously inferior RTS from the 90s. One you would find from a PC mag's demo disk and play out of politeness.

Its appeal is entirely its relation to the original version.

Activision entertainment absolutely trampled and destroyed the iconic look of the game Starcraft. For me, this is unforgivably what they did. The only thing they had to do was make the game in a scale of 1: 1 to 4K and not change the look of some things to be more to starcraft 2. This is a massive rip off. I purchased the remastered starcraft and my mac will not download the installation app. I tried to get help and blizzard asks me for a diagnostic file... what the heck is a diagnostic file!!?!? All I know is I paid them money and they want me to wave a magic wand on my mac. Thanks a lot...

This is a disgusting, shameless cash grab. If I had any respect for Blizzard left, it's gone now.

If you're going to remake a game like Starcraft, you need to do it well. This seems incredibly lazily done and it looks almost exactly the same. The critic reviews are inexplicably high.

StarCraft Remastered is a fun blast from the past, but it’s hard not to notice how much games have evolved since 1998. [12/2017, p.53]

Legendary RTS and the original Esport enjoys fresh new life with beautiful HD textures and new matchmaking system.

StarCraft: Remastered admittedly targets to esport. While for professional players it is almost perfect, for ordinary people it is a half-baked remaster of once great game, which is not so good to play today.
