  1. The camera view still needs some work and a 3rd dimension would greatly enhance gameplay and combat but they still are saddled with a game that, in the end is boring.

Easily the most accessible and beautiful Trek combat simulator yet. Ultimately, though, it's only a small upgrade from the previous mission. [Feb 2003, p.72]
  3. Advanced players and long time fans of "Starfleet Battles" will rue the simplifications of the rule set, though the great sense of online community still remains.
  4. A disappointment. Not as good as the original. This is a series that has definitely lost something from its Interplay roots.

Unfortunately, this stellar tactical engine serves as the only highlight in a game with a lifeless campaign and enough technical problems to give Data a run for his money. [Mar 2003, p.100]

A slightly improved Star Trek tactical simulator, but that's pretty much all it is. The production values are still bland, and the user interface is just slightly better than before.
  7. 60
The campaigns are too dry, too random, and the combat too long and thoughtful by half.
