Contracts is a signal to the world that the Sniper Ghost Warrior franchise is no longer content on being a niche title. It is coming for the stealth big boys.

At its core Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts is a challenging, but fundamentally well-balanced sniping FPS, but the mask was supposed to be the thing that empowered the character and made them more than a match for the armies they’re up against — I just can’t understand why the developers didn’t let me choose how to use it, rather than forcing annoying limits upon me.

With Contracts, the Sniper Ghost Warrior series finally gets on the right track by focusing on the level design of closed environnements and featuring strategic gameplay.

Some sound and physics shenanigans don’t stop this from being a fun, if occasionally frustrating, game that goes towards redeeming CI Games for the previous game’s missteps.

CI Games has taken its lessons learned from the past and given Sniper Ghost Warrior a Hitman-inspired makeover. With improved sniping mechanics, and focus on replayable, open-ended sandboxes, Contracts is thrilling and tense - while nailing that perfect shot is endlessly rewarding.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts starts slow and tedious but picks up the pace as you unlock more gadgets and learn how to become a pro marksman with its intricate bullet physics system.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts alters the course of this honed-in franchise to offer a tighter and more customizable sniping experience. It doesn't iron out all of the issues and lacks big innovations, but it's a solid fix for fans of the genre.

Even though I can't help but feel the game has been scaled back when looking at scope and depth, what is left is a rock solid singleplayer experience for the enthusiast of the long distance kill.

Contracts is another step forward for CI Games in its Ghost Warrior franchise. The maps have exactly the right size, providing breadth or routes, but it never becomes tiresome to traverse, and the sniper rifle is a joy to use, especially from long distances. It may not offer something we haven’t seen before in the genre, nevertheless, it is a quite entertaining, no-frills, stealth FPS.

It isn't extraordinary, but Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts is a solid game. The majority of the gunplay is basic, but it pales in comparison to the attention paid to the sniping and the variety of gun mechanics. The enemy AI works fine even if they sometimes act dumb, and the environments make the missions more interesting. The lack of polish in a few parts of the presentation and some interesting quirks bring down the game, but overall, Contracts is worth checking out if you can temper your expectations.

Sniper Ghost Warrior: Contracts isn't the prettiest game and certainly not the most accessible, but it's an enjoyable budget title, and worth picking up for fans of stealth-based action.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts can be appreciated for what it is: a sniping game far from perfect but ready to engage the player without exceeding, which can be taken home at an affordable price.

The graphics settings are too poor for me as a PC player.

For me Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts is one of the biggest surprises of the year. I was prepared for a rehashed Ghost Warrior 3 - a very tiresome production. Fortunately, the length and diversity of the new installment maintained my interest throughout the entire game. Contracts is definitely the best game in the series, far more enjoyable than Ghost Recon: Breakpoint.

For the first time, this franchise shows some impressive sniper experience and the weapon system is interesting. But with the mediocre graphics and storyline, as well as some noticeable bugs, it's not so satisfying to play the game for a long time.

If you are looking for a good sniping game, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts could be a good choice for you but, if you hope to find a full-fledged FPS with a worthy plot, the market will be able to offer products of a completely different level.

Although it isn't perfect, Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts manages to hit its mark. With a simple yet effective campaign presentation, massive locations and stunning visuals, and the thoroughly engaging gameplay that keeps you coming back for more due to a user-friendly progression system, it's the best Ghost Warrior title to date.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contract’s action scenes and freeroamed maps are overshadowed but better action games, but it’s snipping mechanics are competent enough.

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts excels in the art of sniping, but doesn't offer anything else.

The experiment of division into individual contracts is therefore not entirely successful, but lovers of the genre will certainly find bread for their teeth.

Perhaps the most attractive thing about Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts is its price. For thirty dollars, the game offers a ten-to-twelve-hour campaign that plays like a slightly less cinematic version of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare’s legendary Chernobyl missions.

After ignoring the lackluster graphics and when the game failed to annoy me with a bug for the last 15 minutes, I did have some fun with it. The series is still experimenting and looking for its identity, and yet falters when it comes to basics. [13/2019, p.42]
