Slots and Daggers is a simple RPG roguelite whose battle system is in the hands of the fate of a slot machine’s reels. Earn coin, spend it between battles, and assemble a game-winning build as you traverse through ten different dungeons or Arena Mode.

Slots & Daggers is a very entertaining and fun game that thrives on the one more turn aspect, while also making you think tactically. The story's not the point here, and power up pricing feels a bit hard, but those weaknesses are easy to overly when the gameplay is this satisfying.

Slots & Daggers is a little indie gem that dares to combine two seemingly opposite worlds: slot machines and tactical RPGs with roguelite dynamics. Its approach is fresh, original, and surprisingly deep. Not everything is random: you have to think, optimize, and above all, enjoy every pull of the lever.

Slots & Daggers is a great game - through and through. It's addictive enough to keep you coming back for a few nights in a row to keep spinning out the right symbols and getting further and further on the map, unlocking more and more new things. It's also got a great atmosphere, a great jazz beat, and a very accurate and beautiful aesthetic.

Despite its highly effective formula and undeniable qualities, Slots & Daggers is difficult to praise highly. While one can accept that the project's modest scale might hinder the high replayability normally inherent to roguelites, it remains problematic to note that the progression curve is somewhat unbalanced, shifting very quickly from extreme weakness to overwhelming power. It's certainly a good offering that deserved more depth to truly reach its full potential.

I won’t deny that it’s an experience worth trying once, especially for those curious about experimental design. Slots and Daggers is one of those games that dares to gamble with its own ideas. It just happens to lose the bet somewhere along the way. So yes, play it for the curiosity, but don’t expect it to pull you back for another spin.
