    Pro of the Sleeping Dogs.
    -Nice storyline,it is better than GTA SA or GTA IV(my opinion)
    -Very nice graphic -It got best melee combat feature -Many thing to unlock -Gun's sound is very good Cons of Sleeping Dogs. -Gun is too rare -Vehicle handling in this game is very awful it is impossible to flip over car on mid air -After you completed all the mission,it started get boring    Pro of the Sleeping Dogs.

    its a nice open world game like GTA.i like this game because of its action.also its graphics are very nice.it has a best story line.Sleeping Dogs’ blurred lines come to the fore as soon as you’re introduced to the game’s unique leveling system, which allots Shen experience points in three specific areas: Cop, Triad and Face

    Awesome GTA alternative, that's all I have to say. Just try it yourself. You will be absolutely amazed how awesome this is, only after you finish off Ming. Need I say more?

    If you like parkour, fighting and GTA, you will like this game. Graphic is pretty good and story is interesting. You will be part of japan underworld which is very brutal. I will appreciate better physx.

    Great story, interesting characters, unique style to the game but the controls and graphics are okay but managable. Using a gamepad can fix this issue.

    The same devs of tomb raider and hit man don't disappoint, highly underrated game story is down right amazing, solid graphics gameplay is a blast wasn't expecting it to be that good glad i bought it.

    The game looks great the world is medium sized, I wouldn't call it large - you can drive all the way round it in minutes. For me this game is spoiled by rubbish controls, I managed to fix this with auto hot key which allows me to redefine keys as desired (ie use cursors).

    Firstly the automatic camera/view drives me nuts, you can mouse-look to check before turning a corner but when you turn the corner the game spins the camera round, your view ends up pointing at a building to the side of the car so then you have to correct the camera manually because it is slow to move the camera to forward. It is ghastly.

    Secondly, keyboard control has been badly programmed, very badly. You are driving along, you want to make a minor adjustment, you can't, you tap left.... there's a pause where nothing happens, then the car jerks violently to the left - a lot, it is dismal.     Im being generous by giving it the score that i am giving ,but, it is a fun game. The setting is pretty unique. Story is ok. The big thing is combat, of course. It's frustrating but very satisfying to smash some people into pieces. Driving? Worst i have seen from a AAA title. Worse than Grid 2. Worse than GTA V. About 50% deadzone. I really dont know what the hell they were thinking.

    Waiting for Mafia III or GTA 6? Well, it's a good news. You better play Sleeping Dogs and it will remind you these games. Yeah, I'm trying to say that Sleeping Dogs are pretty similar with GTA and Mafia franchises. It has an interesting story (really interesting, by the way!), similar mechanics, awesome graphics (especially in Definitive Edition which is Remaster), and a great soundtrack.Waiting for Mafia III or GTA 6? Well, it's a good news. You better play Sleeping Dogs and it will remind you these games. Yeah, I'm trying to say that Sleeping Dogs are pretty similar with GTA and Mafia franchises.     Et c'est une grosse partie de Sleeping Dogs hélas : impossible d'échapper à ces bagarres, que ce soit dans les missions principales ou secondaires. Toi vouloir écraser quelques loubards avec ton 4x4 ? non pas possible, monsieur ! toi vouloir les flinguer avec... un flingue peut-être ? non pas possible ! toi pas de flingue en dehors des missions prévues à cet effet... Toi péter gueule à eux. Jeu décider, toi obéir sinon toi finir camp de rééducation travail manuel.

    Dommage, car les rares fusillades sont bien faites avec des **** ralentis quand on passe d'un abri à un autre et le système de couverture remplit son office. Bien faites aussi les poursuites en bagnole avec également un ralenti quand on canarde le fuyard mais le souci est qu'on ne peut le faire que dans certaines missions scriptées à cet effet : en mode libre ou dans d'autres missions dans lesquelles on doit semer la police, on ne peut pas, car... de toute façon on a pas de flingue !

    Manque de liberté d'approche, c'est quand même ballot pour une copie de GTA ! ils ont cela dit innové quelque peu avec des sortes de mini-jeux de piratage de caméra ou de triangulation de téléphone portable... franchement c'est plus soûlant qu'autre chose.

    A côté de ça, on ne joue pas une racaille mais un flic infiltré avec tous les poncifs du genre mais c'est toujours ça de pris. Le jeu n'incite pas trop à mettre le bordel en ville et encourage la conduite propre (le score baisse quand on écrase une mémé au feu) : du politiquement correct communiste, ça (d)étonne un peu, on a pas l'habitude...

    La partie technique : magnifique sur PC avec les textures HD et presque tout à fond, ça tourne bien la majorité du temps sur une machine moyenne gamme avec de rares descentes à 35 im/s, clairement du beau travail pour un monde ouvert aux décors aussi soignés.

    Finalement Sleeping Dogs, ce n'est pas grinçant comme un GTA4 ou délirant comme les SR2 ou 3, c'est juste coincé et ça n'a pas la grâce des meilleurs polars de Hong-Kong, trois fois dommage !    … Expand

    It say's open world but most of the map is empty and there is really nothing to do in it.
    The only good and interesting point of this game was the story which made our character face a cool dillemma but alas they also rushed the ending and botched it up.
    Will only recommend if you love driving cars without any point or have time to waste.    … Expand

I didn't care much for the story and characters in GTA, with all the stupidity and macho **** Of course you have part of that in Sleeping Dogs too, it IS about gangsters after all. Still there is a quite a bit of honor infused in the story instead of primitivity. Also, both story and characters seem deeper as a result of it.GTA with style.     Besides that, it also features better gameplay than GTA. Virtually all the minigames, the shoot outs AND the hand to hand combat feel great. Alright, the hand to hand combat isn't as good as in the Batman games and there is one minigame that is damn tedious and you have to do a lot (picking locks on MANY lockboxes lying around town) but other than that, it's all great. Graphics look a bit dated, yet it still requires a fairly powerful system to run smoothly maxed out, so it doesn't seem like they optimized it very well. And those minor gripes about gameplay and graphics are really everything that keeps me from giving this game a perfect score. Oh, it also has quite a bit to discover. Maybe not as much as GTA4 but if you are a completionist, my guess is that it'll take you 20-25 hours to get everything.

But I played through it twice already and am still listening to the Soundtrack on a regular basis, wondering about when a sequel will finally be released. And when I think back to the last couple of years and what great games I've played, aside from various indie games, only "Sleeping Dogs" comes to mind. It's a shame that the leaderboards are so screwed up, otherwise I'd probably compete with others every weekend but it doesn't change the fact that this strong urge of still wanting to play it means that it is essentially a perfect game.[/edit]    … Expand

    Stop giving it bad reviews for little things. Yes the game is arcadish, but that's the way it's supposed to be and they did a good job at getting it right.     If you don't like the camera and controls plug in a Xbox 360 controller (for windows) and use that to play the game. The game does feel like a port and the controller eases the feel of the game to a traditional mouse + keyboard. Plus PC's graphics are 50x better then consoles and look beautiful.

    All in all it's a worthy game, you just have to give it a chance and accept it for what it is, it's own game with it's own flaws and ideas. but it's far from a bad game. Infact I've loved it and it gets the thumbs up from me :)    … Expand

    A proper game. Think GTA in Hong Kong, with a focus on realism and combat. Proper graphics, great music and cutscenes (with native Cantonese voices now and then!), and a brutal combat system. The story is exciting!

    Very nice game. Good feel and cool design. Love the environment and side quests. Ton of options and gotta give it to the free running. Only reason holding me back from giving it a perfect 10 is because of some control flaws that I have experienced, minor glitches, and short story line ( WANTED MORE imo). Overall Solid game! Good thing it went to SQ ENIX instead of True Crime. Hell, ImmaVery nice game. Good feel and cool design. Love the environment and side quests. Ton of options and gotta give it to the free running. Only reason holding me back from giving it a perfect 10 is because of some control flaws that I have experienced, minor glitches, and short story line ( WANTED MORE imo). Overall Solid game!     Being a fan of sandbox games and of the Chinese ambiance, I had very high hopes for Sleeping Dogs, but it turned out to be a dud for me. It does have some very nice elements. The look of the game is quite nice and the martial arts combat is very satisfying, once you get the hang of it. But in every other respect, it falls short. You can roam around the "world", but it's completely sterile.Being a fan of sandbox games and of the Chinese ambiance, I had very high hopes for Sleeping Dogs, but it turned out to be a dud for me. It does have some very nice elements. The look of the game is quite nice and the martial arts combat is very satisfying, once you get the hang of it. But in every other respect, it falls short. You can roam around the "world", but it's completely sterile. There's nothing to interact with. The NPCs are dumber than a clothes mannequin. There are basically three types of encounters no more (1) you meet thugs and fight them, (2) you do something to piss off the police and they chase you until they get bored of you, (3) you buy something from a vendor. The missions themselves are completely on rails and when you start one, you have to finish it right then and there. You can't go off to do something else and come back to it later. Except for the fighting, where you can see that a lot of work was put in to get it right, the rest of the game play is sub-par. Everything feels sluggish, whether it's running on foot or driving a car. Driving is made even more unpleasant by the completely mindless camera that refuses to point to where you want to and NEED to look. You can steal cars, but you can't keep them, so you're denied even something as simple as collecting cars. Oh, but you can collect plenty of t-shirts and bad pants (for crying out loud, I could do that in real life if I wanted to!). Pretty as it is, try as I may, I just can't get into this game. I play it for 30 minutes at a time and get bored out of my skull and leave with a feeling that I just wasted 30 minutes that I'll never get back. This game desperately needs an environment with more life, NPCs with a shred of personality, a greater sense of immersion, and much more freedom of action beyond just driving around for kicks (another thing I can do in real life and don't need a game for). If it had these things, it could be a great game. As it stands, it's more of a virtual tour of a severely simplified Hong Kong with mindless bots roaming the streets like civilized zombies... with an occasional martial arts fight to alleviate the boredom. Oh, and yes, there is a story, and it's not bad, but it's not enough to hold the game together in such a sterile world.… Expand

    I liked this game. Good graphic (for console port), unusual but comfortable controls, good story (but maybe too short and hasty to the ending). Problems lie in a lot of glitches, bugs, small inconveniences in gameplay (disappearing weapons after a sleep, savepoints linked to hideouts and so on).

The biggest problem with Sleeping Dogs, however, is that it is a poor port. The optimization is terrible. There is no reason for it to struggle to maintain 60 fps and the controls are God awful. I mean, who decided to make run and jump the same button? In order to jump while running, you have to quickly release the spacebar and then press it again and hold it down so you keep running. And right click to exit a vehicle? I accidentally exited vehicles so many times because of this terrible control scheme. Despite these flaws, Sleeping Dogs has enough content and is just about the right length so you don't get bored with it. Overall, I am disappointed in Sleeping Dogs. I expected less rookie mistakes from a game with such high praise.… Expand

    7.5/10. Martial Arts centric GTA game. Enjoyed the undercover cop angle. Story is good even if not truly original. Slightly on the short side, I did about 70% of the optional side quests prior to beating it, took a little over 17 hours. Well worth getting if you enjoy these types of games.

    Some slight issues: Some gameplay decisions made to create tension (1 button action scenes,    7.5/10. Martial Arts centric GTA game. Enjoyed the undercover cop angle. Story is good even if not truly original. Slightly on the short side, I did about 70% of the optional side quests prior to beating it, took a little over 17 hours. Well worth getting if you enjoy these types of games.

    Some slight issues: Some gameplay decisions made to create tension (1 button action scenes, hacking, lockpicking, safe cracking etc) are just tedious and don't add anything of value to the game in most cases. Game controller must support Xinput or you have to be willing to deal with x360ce. The pathing drawn for where to go isn't very good. It will not highlight driveways or side streets that don't show up on the map so will guide you to wrong areas from time to time, and doesn't update well (won't tell you to go backwards if you miss a turn, will just tell you to go in a big circle). Lack of guns and ammo can make some of the optional drug busts frustrating since enemies will be armed and spawn behind you. Some of the gameplay gets repetitive fast.    … Expand

    I would actually rate this game 8.5/10 but since we have to rate it in whole numbers, I guess 8 will do. There are certain elements in the game that are quite impressive - first of all, the ability to clear through almost any obstacle in your path; secondly, the overall martial arts experience; and thirdly, the storyline which is a fresh breath to life!
    The game isn't perfect. I mean,    I would actually rate this game 8.5/10 but since we have to rate it in whole numbers, I guess 8 will do.     Sleeping Dogs has a stronger and more mature plot when compared to the many GTA clones out there and even pulls off a combat system that hits more than it misses. However, it ultimately suffers from the same pitfalls as its genre stablemates which means your enjoyment of the game depends on whether you find the mini-games and side quests fun.

The main story is nice (and the story makes sense, unlike some recent games) but unfortunately there is no player choice to speak of, in a setting that calls for player choices. It is a very linear story within an open world. Most of the time you don't change anything either.

But the story was still surprisingly good and really caught my interest. The world is also filled with collectibles,races, side missions and some mini-games. The races and side-missions was fun and collectibles was particularly enjoyable since they actually have an impact on the game. Some side missions and mini games did get a little bit repetitive after a while though and some side missions was quite shamelessly copied which kind of sucks. The racing in the game works alright even though its not really heavy on the realism. The melee fighting system works well enough and its probably the best in have seen in this genre. I does get a little bit repetitive though and in the end it comes down to button mashing with the occasional counter attack. The gunplay in this game kind of sucks however. The game is designed around the melee system and that is quite noticeable. In fact its quite rare to run around with anything other than your fist so don't expect to run around with an arsenal of weapons on you. To sum it up is Sleeping Dogs an interesting game and if you have an interest in the genre i would recommend trying the game out. Its quite different than other games in its genre and the game doesn't have any major problems that brings it down. The game do not however have enough things to do (took me 25 hours to complete almost everything) or interesting enough characters to compete with the big boy that should remain nameless.     I really enjoyed Sleeping Dogs, its not every day we get games based in settings such as Hong Kong, with innovate gameplay and an interesting detective story. My only real negatives for the game are based on being rather hollow when it comes to things to do in the environment, also many of the missions get rather repetitive. but over then that I really enjoyed Sleeping Dogs.

    This is a very good game with awesome melee action, decent driving, beautiful visuals and serviceable story that seems better than it really is at first. Gunplay would also be a low point of this overall strong and worthy entrance to the genre.

The camera seems as though it is just a little too slow and 'sluggish' for a pc game of this genre; you want to be taking in your environment as you speed down the highway or slice through the waters of the surrounding seas... and, sadly, with the current means of camera-control, you cannot thoroughly enjoy these things. The controls, however, are almost impeccable - combat is extremely responsive and diverse, even without the use of melee weapons or firearms, and I believe the combat is one of the best I've seen in this genre.

    The storyline is so good; no, really....it is so so sooooo much better than both GTA IV and Saints Row 3, albeit, a little short. You feel attached to many of the main characters; feeling what Wei feels. You hate who he hates, you care for his friends, you feel almost happy when you see an enemy get what they deserve. The only downside is that the story ends, leaving me wanting more!

    The side missions are pretty diverse, allowing for racing, kidnapping, killing, stealing, and the occasional hacking. These give great rewards and really help to extend the play-time of the game. Overall, I highly recommend this game and to anyone "on the fence" as to whether this game is worth picking up (lack of advertising and hype really made this game fly under the radar), I say; buy it! It's incredible!

    This game is a good alternative while waiting for GTA5. Story is the strongest asset in this game especially those who are into gangs and brotherhoods. Side quest are meaningless and repetitive. The game makers do not really care about the side quest i feel. But main quest story and character interaction is top notch.

The fighting is taken from Batman, driving almost from GT5 and slo-mo shooting from Max Payne. It only refines, but doesn't innovate. Its a shame to see where Square Enix have missed an opportunity for an eye-opener for the open world franchise, as it has been plagued with half decent releases such as Saints Row 3. But that's nearly enough moaning.

    The game has a good storyline and it is very easy to get sucked in by the triad centered missions. Although the game doesn't really add new elements, it polishes the core elements of other games and chucks it into its engine. One possible new gameplay addition are the environment kills which are gory but evilly fun ways of ridding of baddies. The guns are easy to use and the vault slo-mo shooting is very intuitive. Just worth the £30 rrp but I would wait for it to be on sale. Overall a very enjoyable experience and probably better than GTA 4 at allowing you to play the criminal lifestyle.    … Expand

There are firearms you can use from time to time but the game emphasizes unarmed combat in a majority of the missions. The vehicles in game are very easy to handle and there is good variety ifIf you want a good open world game other than GTA or SR then you should give Sleeping Dogs a go. The vehicles in game are very easy to handle and there is good variety if you aim to collect them all. You can dress up the main character with clothes purchased from the many clothing shops in game. There are also food stalls and small supermarkets to regenerate your health to full and get certain perks to aid your fighting depending on what you eat/drink. Hong Kong has been very well made. It has a certain atmosphere that no other game in the past few years has been able to replicate. The graphics are great too if that's your thing. However the meat of the game (story) lacks fun and variety and the dry characters make it worse. There are the side missions which can keep you busy but do lack variety. SD is a pretty good open world game but it is no where near perfect which the shoddy PC version doesn't help. If you want a cheap but playable game then Sleeping Dogs is a game you should consider.… Expand

And to tell you the truth I have no idea how you would make fast kung-fu based combat without either making it way to hard or constantly having cuick time events and having the game to go slow-motion. Im think it's a great game and i would recommend it for pretty much anyone.

This game is not a GTA clone, it's stands head and shoulders above GTA series(including 5) on it's own merit. I created my Metacritic account today because I felt this game is grossly underrated. I just finished the game and it's plot and acting is very compelling and suspenseful. There was some level of predictability as to what would happen next, as to who might die or live but the way it played out was simply genius. I've heard this game is not getting it's just due in terms of sales and I can think of a few reasons...some of which I do not wish to go into. One thing is fairy certain however is that they did a poor marketing job of getting the buzz out. I experienced some crashes in the beginning but once I tweaked my screen resolution that stopped and I never encountered the issue again. I've been to Hong Kong several years ago and the depiction of the place is fairly accurate. Minus some of their famed parks, Train system and several other major banks, I was still very satisfied what the detailing. The handling of the cars takes a little getting used to but once you get the hang of it, it became smooth sailing as I won many street races with ease. For all those who lowered their score due to "dated graphics" go get yourself a better gaming rig. With my Gaming rig I was able to max out everything and the graphics was up to par with the best of em'
    This is a martial arts game and Hong Kong has strict gun laws so don't expect a shoot em' up affair. You'll get a gun as needed throughout as the main goal of the game is to develop your fighting skillset. it was quite obvious that this game was a tribute to the great late icon Bruce Lee. The main Character lived in the united states just like Bruce Lee did during his life, they both look alike, similar mannerisms, taste in outfits, shades, height, weight etc. Their also was several references to Bruce Lee's films, in one scene a character pointed to a place where "Fists of _____" was filmed, of course he was implying Fists of Fury. Later in the game I also found hidden the yellow Jumpsuit Bruce wore in Game of death. The learning curve of the controls and fighting techniques is about a 7 out of a 10 but stick with it and you'll be kicking major @ss just like the great Bruce Lee did.     This game beats the crap out of Any GTA, the story line and voice acting is by far its strongest part.

Conforme avances obtendrás mejoras, como hacer mas daño, nuevos movimientos, y como eh dicho antes, los coleccionables te sirven para conseguir nuevos ataques. Como romper brazos y piernas. El titulo también tiene una gran cantidad de minijuegos. La historia y atmósfera es como la de una buena película de acción de Jackie Chan, puede ser algo predecible pero no la daría por mala. Llegas a conocer una buena cantidad de personajes que muestran ser mas que matones eh inocentes justicieros. Y uno que me gusta en particular es Jackie, un amigo que conoces al inicio del juego. Al principio tiene una forma de pensar algo infantil, pero se va dando cuenta de lo horrible que es el mundo real y eso le destroza. No sera perfecto pero no esta mal. Al final, este es un buen titulo, me a gustado conseguir los logros, y se me olvido decir que también tiene parkour, pero seguro que ya es mucho que leer, le doy un 08/10.     The Gameplay is the funniest part on the game, sometimes missions might seem repetitive as you kicking some guys again and again, but you will still enjoy it. Bad thing about gameplay is, that it's VERY glitchy, mostly harmless but sometimes pretty annoying.
    The World is nice, set in Hong Hong streets, you may do many things while not on missions such as finding collectibles, driving races, helping people for reward...

    A great game with an interesting martial arts combat system. It is an open world game with tons of collect-ables and side quests. The story is no masterpiece but still entertaining with sparkles of greatness. The characters and their motivations in the game are believable.     You know what else Sleeping Dogs does better at than most mainstream games as well? Being a good PC port. There are a plethora of customization options available and the performance is great (GTX770 2GB, max settings with high AA, averaging 90-100fps with a minimum of 60). Controls can sometimes be a little awkward with a keyboard and mouse, but it hardly impedes on the enjoyability of the game.

And the campaign is much shorter than GTA, but it is much more focused, and, to be sincere, I think I liked the story of this game more than the story of GTA IV. GTA IV tries to be immersive, but the campaign takes so much to complete -and the characters just keep coming kinda out of nowhere.

    So, yeah, if you have some spare money, I really recommend you to grab Sleeping Dogs. You won't regret it.    … Expand

Graphics are well optimized and on Ultra looks amazing, Story is perfect and I was always looking forward to see what happends next.     one of the best open world games I've ever played. the gameplay is very fun. every mission is unique and good. the combat is really fluent and satisfying. they even have a whole island for just combat challenge and it was awsome. the only complain I have about this game is that when you're driving backwards, the camera angle just flies around.

Игра полностью оправдала все мои ожидания, сюжет отлично подходит к игре. Всё в этой игре очень удобно и красиво. Спасибо.Очень душевная игра, с любовью сделанная.     Sleeping dogs is great game, because game reproduction Hong Kong very well.
    The main of the game is parkour and Chinese martial art.
    Also there is some guns like pistol, smg, granade launcher.
    Story is not that bad. Game's story is +B Hong Kong noire movie.
    For this reason, I rate this game point 8

    A bland and uninteresting game with only its setting making it remotely enjoyable. The gameplay is incredibly repetitive and uninspired, the characters are two-dimensional and very forgettable and the whole concept is just so bland nevermind the clunky driving. This game is just so painfully average it boggles my mind that this game has such good reception.

    Fun game and decent story albeit with many cliches, interesting chinese setting that we dont see too often. However open world gameplay is kind of a mixed bag, world itself is very restrictive where you can go, theres no verticality whats so ever, melee combat can get old fast and in itself is very basic with super easy mechanics, driving feels also stiff.

    If you want a Chinese style GTA like experience, this is the game for you. Set in Hong Kong, you play as an undercover cop and fight crime. The game is very well designed and is quite interactable. I was surprised with Sleeping Dogs to be honest as I hadn't expected it to be this good. Unlike GTA however there are less guns and more punching and kicking which is a lot of fun.

    One of the best action-fighting games with open world i have played. It has decent story with good gameplay every mission is unique, decent driving, beautiful visuals overall this is good game and it deserves a sequel.

    Reaching objectives takes ages and some missions which were completely irrelevant. The first half of the game isnt that good because it fails to build up the tension during it. It is only in the second half the game shows its true colour. I am disappointed to see that it doesnt quite have those stealth infiltration missions or those spying missions like in GTA except one mission.     Unlike the previous ‘True Crime’ games, where there was a strict depiction of the city maps, Sleeping Dogs does not portray Hong Kong, inch by inch. United Front Games has implemented GTA’s novelties in way that winks slyly at Rockstar. In essence, what the GTA series has accomplished, Sleeping Dogs has carried out better and more elegantly.
