There's probably an entertaining game to be made from the disaster that is dating; this isn't it. [Oct 2004, p.87]

Voyeurs will be disappointed, since the sex portrayed is the very model of conventionality. The really shocking thing is how close Singles gets to being wholesome. [June 2004, p.111]

Eidos looks stupid for accepting the AO rating, yet covering up the genitals with fig leaves. And the IDSA has only succeeded in making its own rating system appear useless.
  4. Practically nothing about this virtual relationship even remotely approaches plausibility. The graphics are nice, but the shallow gameplay won't keep people entertained for long.

Risqué set-piece conversations spice up the monotony as things progress, but essentially life in the flat is a painfully hollow experience to which the eventual moment of intimacy becomes an inevitable anti-climax.

  7. It's pretty graphic in its representation of sex, and it's about as fun and interesting as watching your cat lick itself.

This putatively naughty game should come with fetish clothing options, dungeon equipment, and the option to call up a friend or five to join our hero and heroine in their erotic adventures, but it doesn't. It's sterilie, soulless, and ultimately a tease that doesn't come close to delivering. What a gyp. [Sept 2004, p.73]

This game has nice graphics. That's about it. First of all, you have 4 or 5 characters of each sex you are limited to. Second, if you This game has nice graphics. That's about it. First of all, you have 4 or 5 characters of each sex you are limited to. Second, if you slip up in the tinniest way, the couple won't even speak to each other again. And lastly, "The Sims" for grown-ups? There is no nudity that I've seen. Not even a kiss, let alone sex. Grown-ups? Pleeeeeeease! Full Review »

First, comparing this game to The First Sims really isn?t fair to either game. The focuses are very different and this game is built on First, comparing this game to The First Sims really isn?t fair to either game. The focuses are very different and this game is built on technology much more advanced. Pros: Graphics are good, except a little buggy as one reviewer mentioned, but it probably give you a decent idea how TS2 will run on your system. The motives don't seem too hard to take care of and you can edit your text file to edit your game. Cons: Game play is pretty limited, you just have the two singles to play with and not a lot to do with them expect trying to get them in the sack, replay value will likely be pretty low. Not many objects either, I'm trying to get my flat mates to do group actives but there are only a few objects that they can use together. The way the relationships bars are broken down can be confusing too. With separate bars for friendship, sensuality, romance, fun, and trouble it can be hard to tell where you are in the relationship and the best way to improve. Not too many options but if you're just looking for a relationship sim it's pretty good, although I might end up taking them up on their 30 money back guarantee. Oh another complaint, pink mode and rainbow mode, forces you to use on of their two gay singles, instead of picking two singles from the pool, this kid sucks even more so since I don?t think their gay sims could get any more stereotypical. If we must compare it to the sims, I still prefer TS1 removing the blur is a snap as is getting nude skins, also with my sims autonomy on full I never had the super dumb sim problem. With Ts2 coming out this fall I expect it to be a much more complete game then Singles but at only 30 bucks with the guarantee I'm willing to give it a try. Full Review »

This sounds like pure filth to me. you should feel sufficiently dirty after playing a game like that.
