Is the game polished? Absolutely not. Does it have a compelling narrative? Nope. Are there several bugs? Most definitely. Is this possibly the best snowboard simulation game ever? Yes, I really think it is. This is exactly what I was looking for, but I dont think it will be for everyone. This feels like a game for those who are into snow sports. This is SkaterXL/Session, but surprisingly, much more complete and polished than those. I will be putting tons and tons of hours into this game, but I realize that many wont see the same appeal as I do. Expand

This game puts its efforts on the important bits and it nailed that. The control scheme is by far the best I have seen for a snowboard game ever. Its so responsive and natural it feels just right. In a way, I would say this the souls-like equivalent of a board game... If that makes sense. Tricks are as rewarding to nail in this game as they are in a real park, incredible job there.

That being said, it is rough around the edges in other areas, Graphics are ok for 2022 but not fantastic, the cut-scene animations are... quirky (maybe voluntarily) and the sound track even if excellent is very limited (5-6 tracks I believe and mostly EDM). With the same music budget that EA skate had, this would make it extremely hard to put the controller down.

I hope the devs get to do a sequel with more budget because they definitely are going in the right direction.

If you're a snowboard fan who likes games like 1080 and SSX this is a must-buy. It feels like the first Snowboard game since then to recapture the fun and excitement of the genre.

It will take some practice and patience to learn the harder tricks, but once it clicks it's extremely fun and addicting to play. This game feels like it was made with passion by snowboard enthusiasts.

Performance optimizations are needed, the UI can be cleaned up, and the voice acting is bad and cannot be muted. However, the core gameplay is awesome and with diligent updates Shredders stands to be the greatest snowboard game of all time.

Shredders makes me want to snowboard. The game is is pretty fun and the atmosphere and music are splendid. I'm always happy when I can find a decent snowboarding game and this is one I had a good bit of fun with.

There still are some things that keep this game from being truly great. First is that performing tricks felt quite inconsistent, I'd execute what feel like are the exact same

There still are some things that keep this game from being truly great. First is that performing tricks felt quite inconsistent, I'd execute what feel like are the exact same inputs with widely varying results - this is especially noticeable when attempting flips.
The game is also pretty short, it only took me about 6 hours of gameplay to make it through the vast majority of missions and complete the game. And since I 3-starred most of the missions along the way, there was little replay value left. The areas also don't feel quite large enough, perhaps I just got used to the vastness of Steep.

Would recommend Shredders if you're looking for a snowboarding game to lose yourself in for some time, but it's not much more than that.

A great game. Requires a minimum investment to master its gameplay, but when you succeed to make your first insane tricks, then it quickly becomes pure riding thrill. Highly recommend this gem, one more in the already fantastic Game Pass catalog. Many thanks to the developers.

Shredders fills the void left behind by SSX and Amped with its beautiful visuals, easy-to-pick-up nature, and a story that knows (and pokes fun of) the limitations brought by the indie space. While the game might be a bit jank in some areas, it's still a decent experience that's easy to recommend for Game Pass owners.

Shredders is quite successful, and will easily appeal to fans of sliding and demanding gameplay.

There’s a franchise-in-waiting here, it just needs more than a few tweaks and hell of a lot less forced character.
