Recycles almost all of the assets from the original Shovel Knight campaign, just like Plague Knight did. Majority of stage layouts are virtually identical, with slight alterations made to accommodate for Specter Knight's movement style. Most audio tracks aren't new but remixes, story isn't very interesting (though it's never been the appeal of Shovel Knight to me). Like Shovel Knight, it feels like there's something missing, but is much better than the Plague Knight campaign (which I thought was terrible). I still feel like Shovel Knight is the best of the bunch, these new playstyles feel like reinventing the wheel for the sake of it, and end up feeling clumsy in their own way. Expand

Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment is worth picking up on its own, but you should really just get the total package and play through all three campaigns. They each offer something unique like a Vegas buffet, and coincidentally enough the new price point of the Treasure Trove edition matches up.
