Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall hits the target! Very nicely written, and captivating. Needs some chrome, though. When something epic happens, even a static picture would be nice. [Apr 2014]

Dragonfall’s fundamentals haven’t changed enough to justify a play if you actively disliked Shadowrun Returns, which is a required purchase before enjoying this new expansion. However, if you were simply hungry for deeper role-playing options, Dragonfall makes major strides, and deserves your attention as a standalone adventure.

A very good expansion that betters the original game in every aspect. It's great when developers listen to their fans and give them what they want.

Apart from the abrupt epilogue and somewhat daft AI, Shadowrun: Dragonfall is a great expansion to the original game.

If you enjoyed your first taste of Shadowrun, then Dragonfall should be an immediate purchase.

For players who may never had heard of Shadowrun, Dragonfall is a firm introduction to what the world is all about. In many ways, it finally fulfills the promise of a real sequel. It won't brutalize players who are new to tactical gaming, and it won't stop veterans cold, but Dragonfall does an awesome job of translating Shadowrun's world into a digital battlefield fraught with shady choices.

Technical shortcomings aside, Dragonfall’s story rocks; a well-spent $15 for any RPG fan.

Although it’s DLC, Dragonfall is an improvement on the base game, Shadowrun Returns, in every aspect. The campaign is superior, the narrative more engaging, the characters well fleshed out and the quests more compelling.

For the most part, the Shadowrun reboot has been a success, but not a resounding one. If you played the old SNES or Genesis game and wanting that same experience, you will be pleased by what Shadowrun: Dragonfall has to offer.

Shadowrun Returns: Dragonfall offers 12+ hours of fresh adventure in a new city, a sizable helping of new weapons and enemies, and a hub quest system which gives this expansion a leg up over its core campaign.

Dragonfall brings a brand-new content along with slightly altered "Berlin" feel to it into the Shadowrun saga. Otherwise, it's the same as its predecessor – wonderful, concentrated and also slightly problematic.

If you liked Shadowrun Returns but felt the main storyline was missing something, you'll find that Dragonfall improves on the original in almost every way.

An expansion that improves on almost every aspect of the original, fixing obvious flaws and adding a much greater sense of variety to what is now one of the best retro role-players around.

It has fixed a lot of the critical problems from the first entry (most notably that abhorrent save system), and the writing is leaps and bounds better here, making Dragonfall the first game that truly capitalizes on this incredible universe's great potential.

Shadowrun: Dragonfall is a very good campaign and finally shows some of the potential that Dead Man's Switch forgot along the way. The new story offered by Harebrained Schemes does not only provide great content to the game but also opens the door to users who want to unleash their imagination. Although its overall image is blurred by its price inexplicably equal to the original content, Shadowrun Returns still is -possibly- the best adaptation of the world of Shadowrun to date.

If you already liked Shadow Run Returns, this will give you a few very entertaining evenings well worth the price, even considering all the well done and ambitious mods for the main game.

It's more professionally made and superior to the original campaign in every way, and likely to clock in at around 12-15 hours depending on difficulty settings: enough to tell its story, but not enough to outstay its welcome.

If you liked the original Shadowrun Returns campaign you are going to enjoy Dragonfall. It takes everything you liked the first time around and refines it. While your character may be the protagonist of the campaign you are certainly not a hero. This is made abundantly clear in side missions like Loose Ends. You are hired to break into a corporation and kill the last surviving member of a Shadowrun team hired by your employer before he can be tortured and sell your employer down the river. Dragonfall doesn’t waste your time with a brand new tutorial either. Your PDA has all the info you need. While this game is far from perfect, the thing it does the best is capture the feel of what Shadowrun should be and that is a world I want to play in.

An excellent expansion and almost a must for those who appreciated Shadowrun: Returns. Action, atmosphere and environments contribute to a more engaging experience. Some of the most glaring misses from the predecessor has been fixed, but there are still some flaws. The text-heavy arrangement requires much of the player, but the reward is even greater for those who want to go deep in the world of Shadow Run.

Dragonfall is a nice add-on for Shadowrun Returns, offering nice gameplay additions and moreover a good story. Too bad it is a little too expensive though.
