The controls are horrible, but the graphics are nice. I'd reccommend downloading the demo to see the graphics, but I don't think the game is worth it.

The game engine is very bad, choppy frame rates and this is on an AMD 3GHz system with 9800Xt video card! The orginal Myst is much better.

  1. Just because the engine has been updated doesn't mean the game is any less tedious or frustrating than it was in its original form.
  2. What keeps realMYST from earning the high honors is the problematic control system that makes clicking on the right areas difficult; especially the much darker nature of the environment at night, making navigation quite hellish and the solving of puzzles relatively impossible.
  3. The immersive world created by realMyst was a visual and auditory joy, but it was still essentially a game I had played before, even with the addition of Rime.
