Controlling your units is frustrating and the enemy with the shotgun ruins the entire game.

Literally created an account to low rate this game. Good visuals, good idea, hideously executed. There's a 'gather' button that does -absolutely nothing- and does in no way shape or form keep your units gathered together, your units randomly path and aggro everything within a 10 mile radius and it's impossible to keep your weaker units behind the stronger ones despite the games' obviousLiterally created an account to low rate this game. On top of everything the enemy design is hideously frustrating. As mentioned there's an 'enemy with a shotgun' that dodges constantly, is impossible to stun or 'fear' by a large mob, fires constantly as he runs and all three shots instant kill whatever they hit unless it's a very beefy unit in which case it will two shot them. Fire is a huge issue as well, they litter the game with molotov throwing enemies and enemies with flamethrowers which also instant kill your units in large numbers and your units are -supposed- to path around fire automatically unless you are actively attacking, but very often just bumble right into it or refuse to move away from an impact point no matter how far away you move your cursor.
It seems like it would be a neat game but it feels like one that received zero playtesting before release.

In the end, Sea Salt seems to be a passable title but it is not the case. As it stands, the game is very flawed. It's a pity because everything that shapes the game is almost perfect, and the atmosphere will make you want to stay. Basically, it would only take a change in the way you control the units, as well as rebalancing some enemies, to make the game very enjoyable. That said, for patient players, who are not afraid of being salty, you should take a look at this very promising game.

Sea Salt looks and feels like one of the great DOS games of yore. It features complex and well-designed pixel graphics with an interesting premise – being a dark, Lovecraftian god and punishing the unfaithful in the best way dark, Lovecraftian gods know how.
