    A very week start, but the years have proven the game and the devs worth spending time and money into.. With constant updates and things to do in the Sea Of Thieves, including sinking other ships, slip onto an unsuspecting ship and looting under their noses and fighting ashen skeletons for drops with more money attached to them..

    This game is so much fun. This game is the best pirate game I have ever played and it looks beautiful! The game does lack some content, but the dev's has assured that more content is on the way.

    Esse jogo é incrível, em todos os aspectos, ele tem ótimos gráficos, uma jogabilidade perfeita, e tem muita coisa para se fazer, o modo história e os enigmas são mto divertidos e interessantes, o jogo vale cada centavo.

    The improvements from the launch make the old reviews redundant, this is one of the best games I have played. The fact that a new player and seasoned player have identical equipment means the only difference is player skill.

    Played this game in beta and then when It first release. Back then it was enjoyable, and ive had many memorable moments with my friends, but at that time there was a lack of things to do at all. Fast forward to NOW. I jumped back in in July when it released on steam, and boy, what an improvement, there is so much to do now, so many new things to discover, and adventures to be    SoT in 2020

Fast forward to NOW. I jumped back in in July when it released on steam, and boy, what an improvement, there is so much to do now, so many new things to discover, and adventures to be had. All while keeping true to what made the game fun in the first place, being able to write your own stories, and create memories with people. Its amazing how dedicated Rare is in improving the game.

    I came to SoT really late in the game (after christmas 2018). I stayed away from the game originally because of the negative reviews. I don't know if it's the updates or just that the game is better than others let on, but I really find the game to be really rewarding. Even just braving a thunderstorm to see the sunset on the other side, it's truly a reward. Falling into the water wasI came to SoT really late in the game (after christmas 2018). Falling into the water was absolutely terrifying, but then I looked up, and seeing those waves crashing over head is one of the most surreal experiences I've ever had. The gameplay loop isn't the most rewarding thing ever since everything is cosmetic, but I really enjoy the fact that armor and weapons don't affect gameplay, only strategy and skill (I'm terrible btw). I had a group of friends which I think would make a huge difference. I think, if you like the idea of bonding with your friends while having some of the most surreal experiences in gaming, then I think you should give this another try. I haven't tried everything yet, but I'm comfortable giving this game a high score from the amount I've played. The reason for the missing point, is that the gameplay loop is somewhat shallow.… Expand

    The game has gotten a lot better since lunch, Now the game just has so much content and a really cool multiplayer experience, Just don't play solo it gets really boring.

    This game is one of the most addictive games that I have played. It has brilliant graphics and can run smoothly. The best part is the community and the developers paying attention to what players are saying. Sometimes it can be boring tho, sailing alone can be relaxing but can get boring after grinding for hours but can get more enjoyable with a crew.     A great game that not everyone will like.

    It doesn't meet any of the standards of recent video game hits, with hundreds of collectibles and progress bars to incentivise the users to play more, and show their progression in the game. Instead, it's using emergent gameplay to push the users into exploring that great sandbox. If you're not used to that kind of games, and start playing    A great game that not everyone will like.

    If you're not used to that kind of games, and start playing with noone used to that, you will probably be completely disappointed. Otherwise you'll have a great experience.

Anything can happen when you're sailing, even if you're sailing to dig up some chests or to carry a pig to an outpost. This is the beauty of the game !     You want to chill and dig up some chests, kill some skelletons ? You can do it, but you should expect some dangers, like an another crew who wants to sink you to get your booty. Maybe the Kraken will put his/her tentacles around your ship, seeking for blood and broken wood. Or, some huge shark teeth will break through your deck, the Megalodon is always lurking from the depths. Seeing a skelleton ship rising from under the seas, shooting sparkling cursed canon balls at you while you're peacefully going back to sell your loot can be surprising too. And every time, it's your choice, it's your way to deal with those, run away or fight back.

    Now that the skelletons forts/stronghold are up a lot more often (as well as the Skelleton ships fights), you can be involved into a lot more PvP fights aswell, making allliances, fighting to death, the choice is yours !

    I'm just talking about what happens in the game, but the technical aspects of Sea of Thieves are trully stunning. The sound design is perfect, it shows the perfect atmorsphere and at the same time gives your every informations you need to understand what's happening around you (A gunpowder barrel getting lit, a hole into your hull, ropes being pulled, anchor being droped, skelleton ship rising from the depths, the last wave of the fort spawned, and so on...).
    The graphic aspect is up to your personnal feeling of course, but the cartoonish style can be colorful into the Shores of plenty or depressing into the Wilds, dangerous into the Devil's Roar... And oh my god, the water is just ridiculously beautiful and makes sailing a pure pleasure.

    I can go on for years about this game, I found into Sea of Thieves something i've lost during my gamer life, pure gaming pleasure ! Playing for the sake's of fun, into a world full of possibilities and danger, that can be sometimes frustrating but always rewarding.

    I've learnt something with Sea of Thieves, it's that you don't need to be an absolute content seeker to find pleasure as a gamer !

    Trust me, if you want to experience a unique game in a beautiful world with plenty of things to do, specially with friends, you should just dive into this magnificent ocean of possibilities and meet pirates from all around the globe.    … Expand

    I think it's beautiful, balanced, rewarding most days, and a healthy dose of enemy induced frustration to keep you on your toes. Hardcore level grinders hate this game because it just isn't built for incremental skill improvement toward some endgame state. The playing field is level, and cooperation    I think this game is fantastic. A unique cooperative online experience without equal.

    sea of thieves is a significantly better game than it was 4 years ago rare has improved the game and added content the only thing i wish it had was more ways to progress but as of now im pretty satisfied with the seasons they just need to happen more frequently

    Most people struggle with learning to use their imagination to make their own fun, which is required, especially in this game's current state. Yes this game lacks content, and yes it needs more to keep people playing, but for the average player with a couple friends, this game is one of the best organic experiences out there.

    I laugh at the people who have already played the game for 30+ hours (likely in just 2-3 sittings) complaining about repetitiveness. That's like expecting to play any online shooter in the same way and then complaining about lack of content. The primary fun will come from fluid interactions with other players, which can take a couple of matchmaking attempts to find a good group (literally did this and made 2 friends last night). The devs are already working to improve matchmaking options and releasing more content. Can't wait as more.

    Tips for having fun in this game:

    - Try not to play alone
    - Try to find other plays to add as friends to play with later (build/assemble a crew)
    - Don't expect randoms to want the same experience you are looking for (AKA don't feed the trolls)
    - Be Spontaneous
    - When bored, put the game down for a bit and do something else

    Not worth $60 at the moment, but i don't see the devs saying extra costs for new content in the future.    … Expand

    This is an amazing game, one of the best I have played. This game apparently was not built out enough when it launched and that gave a lot of people a bad impression. That is no longer the case. there is a load of stuff to do, the game looks fantastic, is very playable and is really fun.     Great game with a superb execution within the product. Yes, it had some day one issues, but I cannot for the life of me name any MMO-ish game that hasn't. I hope they roll out new content very soon because while what's there is very fun, it gets repetitive. There is a lot of potential here!

    Rare is back!! What an amazing game!!! One of th ebest coop games to play with friends, seriously amazing time with buds!

    Amazing art work, great graphics, fun gameplay and tons to do = Rare is back! This is a very special game and a game that the gaming industry badly needed.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I feel like most of the reviews are extremely unfair for this game, so thought i'd write my own one. Sea of Thieves is a wonderful game, been spending hours since the realease with a few friends. The pvp is engaging and a real adrenaline rush. Raids in the game are amazing the beacon luring all the players into one spot, then later sinking all the ships coming for you and then delivering houndreds of thousands worth of gold to the merchants is a real kicker. Game is only repetetive if you go for a "side quest" at the time and then deliver it. Engage yourself into the world fight for loot there are people sailing around all over the place but most will avoid you cause they're scared of losing their loot. I havent had a calm moment in the game, always fighting someone be it 2v4, 2v4v4 or even more it's always fun to come out on top if you play it right. Sailing and shooting in the game feels great as well, that is coming from a person that tops out on most fps's and competetive games.

    My negatives for the game would be that as a PC player i am stuck with xbox live app and it's not a great interface, very buggy and horrible UI and as for the price tag? no it's not worth 60€ maybe a 50€, playing on the game pass thankfully will most likely pay the full price they ask for if they live up to the promise of fair microtransactions and NO loot boxes.

    Side Note: haven't been sunk yet cause we're playing against xbox one players and they have not a chance against a PC player almost Maxed out all the factions,
    (which are the places u do sidequests for) in just a few days. Progression is to quick if the game is played right.    … Expand

    Sea of Thieves, the game I have been waiting for, for a pretty long time.
    It's a beautiful game which is very different then other games you might have played and even though the content in it now is a bit shallow, the developers are working on monthly+/- updates and are very open about all the process they are going through and sharing that with the players.

    Sea of Thieves has successfully redeemed its clumsy launch with Rare being a developer that fully commits to the title with monthly updates for more than two years. Now – it is a game brimming with content, adventure and gorgeous pirate atmosphere with arguably being the best pirate game available and a truly fun multiplayer experience.

    A year of updates has helped fill out its light content, but the real magic was there from the start. Rare’s take on cartoon piracy encourages you to behave as a cartoon pirate should: a little bloodthirsty, a little silly, and almost always drunk.

    Sea of Thieves has a solid foundation, but unfortunately there is no content and in a few of gameplay the feeling of being a pirate completely disappears. [Issue#285]
