    Rust is a fun survival game which is especially fun with friends. You'll need to give it some time as there is a lot to learn but when you get a hang of it it's easily one of those games where you can spend numerous hours.

I have been playing it the past 3 years and ive seen a lot of people complain about the updates we get but personally, every update we have had has been fun and gives us a better time, even if they havent fixed some of the problems there are. The bad side of the game is more because of the players. There are really nice people in the game, but its true most are toxic, although this is an aspect of the game and how brutal it can be, and in my opinion it makes it fun. It all goes down hill when the players start cheating and ruining everyone elses experience. When I get killed and lose all my stuff, its frustrating but i know its part of the game, but when a cheaters takes everything from you, there is nothing you can do and thats what has ruined the game for me a couple times.     Very fun to play on 5x or 10x servers, but DO NOT play vanilla, because you will instantly ruin the fun for yourself.

    Great game, loved playing it, sure the players are bad sometimes, but that's not the games fault, I had a great time grinding while fighting. Game-play and graphics are great, I think that other people that put negative reviews just get killed a lot and are the salty kind, which I have been like there. But yeah, 10/10 would recommend to everyone! :)

    I don't know why this game was so underrated as it is really good.

    The only thing I don't like at all is that you cannot change your character's appearance: as it seems the developers decided to force this situation because they want to send a politically woke message to have other understand what it means to be born in a person that you don't want to be.

    I have played this game for many many hours. Its addicted and really good. I do not understand some of this stupid reviews. A guy given this zero rating yet says he played the game a year 3639 hours and he gives it zero score. so why did he play it for al those hours and give it zero scores. Makes no sense alot of the zero score reviews.

    Maybe the most dynamic and fun game I've ever played. Always updated with new and better systems/cool things. The game is GORGEOUS! With all the servers put there there is something for EVERYONE. Best game ever.

    покупал еще альфу за 300 рублей и был доволен на 8/10, но сейчас прайс 1100 и я бы наврятли брал такое.

    Rust is the best game i have ever experienced in my 20 years of gaming, the devs are very supportive and actively update the game every single month, keeping things fresh. most negative reviews are from 7-9 years ago when the game was in early access.

    This game has so much going for it and it can be really fun at times. Yet it has so many issues that I can't give it any higher than a 5. My main issue by far is how repetitive it is. The game feels the same every time you play it craft, build a base, collect resources, and fight other people. That's basically the whole game.     No efforts have been made to bring fresh air to its battleroyale-esque death match quick snowballing meta.     There hasn't been any major PvE content or new gun in years and what's already there is hardly working or balanced.
    The survival mechanics are entirely neglected and easily ignored.
    Every update makes the game worse in various aspects or flops so hard that people forget it even exists after a week.

    The developers are a self-published small indie studio and they HAVE a public testing environment to throw new ideas at but they don't utilize it at all.
    In fact they have only just recently (April 7th 2022) started collecting player analytics with that all but confirming that they had only surface level knowledge of how people play the game really puts the past 9 years of updates and missing balance patches into perspective.

    Changes are small and always out of left field it's often questionable if they are working on the game at all or spending all their time on a new project.
    It takes actual years of constant nagging for the developers to fix glaring issues with them seemingly not understanding the problem in the first place.
    This looks like a lack of passion and direction.

    Rust has only made it this far because of its unique blend of core mechanics and the fact that a highly punishing game like this attracts a player base that isn't easily scared off by 1 bad change a month.
    Of course those unnoticed monthly bad changes stack up and I'm confident in saying that the game is in a much worse state now than it was 2 years ago.    … Expand

    Just don't bother playing this game the community is horrible. There are people with 10k hours on this game that totally destroy you if you want to have fun. So this game is not worth your time and if you are one of the people with 10k hours please touch some grass.

    Even though the game is hard for me i enjoy playing it. The developers are doing a great job to make a game even better by adding new monuments like they will add bank in a new update or they update the game obce in a month. Some of the players are very aggresive and toxic but some of them are nice. When i joined my first server there was really nothing happening because i joined lowEven though the game is hard for me i enjoy playing it.     Rust is a game that forces you to spend a huge amount of time, but it's a pleasure to spend it, you constantly have to contact other players and only you can choose how. 2500 hours 8/10

The very nature of the game design though can be quite frustrating if you're not playing with a group of friends as you'll be mercilessly killed on sight over and over and that can just suck all the fun out of the game. This game is a toxic grindfest and it's not up to AAA title play standards (because it's not an AAA title?). Лут, лут, лут, постоянный поиск лута, а после неизбежная его потеря в рейде. Да и к тому же прогресс тут сбрасывают в ноль довольно часто. Я не знаю в чем тут смысл, но это ужасно затягивает. Хочется все скрафитить, взять своего друга, кучу сишек, самодельныйУжасно прекрасная игра. Иногда заставляет меня возвращаться, но тогда приходится буквально жить в ней и не отходить от компьютера.     Rust is the game you would wish existed back in the heyday of MMORPGS. Unforgiving PVP with consequences, where you can end up literally dominating the entire server. So, if you are the sort of person who enjoys tension in online PVP games, this should sound very good to your ears. And Rust honestly delivered in building that tense, insecure atmosphere in my first couple of hours. YouRust is the game you would wish existed back in the heyday of MMORPGS. Unforgiving PVP with consequences, where you can end up literally dominating the entire server. So, if you are the sort of person who enjoys tension in online PVP games, this should sound very good to your ears. And Rust honestly delivered in building that tense, insecure atmosphere in my first couple of hours. You start naked, with a piece of rock. You mine ores, destroy trees, build your first weapon and just try to survive. Any animal, any player is your potential murderer and players won’t hesitate to murder you and loot all your things.

    The more I played though, the more I observed how this is not a game “for me”. Even when you are offline, your base can be raided and everything you have can be stolen. The community is beyond toxic, but that’s kind of expected for this sort of game. Servers usually reset weekly, biweekly or monthly, preventing many players from everlasting slavery and giving everyone a chance to start on equal terms. But that comes with a caveat: All the benefits you earned by your grinding will be lost no matter what.

    Also, it should be mentioned that Rust offers some “lite” pay-to-win items. You can purchase things which appear to be only cosmetic, but do actually provide some gameplay advantages.

    Rust is a good game for people with a very specific taste in games. It achieves what it’s going for, but ultimately is not a game most people would be willing to invest their time in, including myself. If you are a solo player, stay away from Rust. If you have limited time to invest in one game, stay away from Rust. If a mature community is important for you, stay away from Rust. But if this type of extremely unforgiving game is what you and your group of friends are looking for, you may actually love it.

    This game suffers horribly from feature creep. Instead of polishing broken updates, they just keep patching more and more updates into it. Their past updates have been catering more to roleplayers because they've realized if they do that, they get an insane boost in sales because twitch streamers promote it. The game is turning into a huge confusing mess.

    One of the best survival-pvp games ever created. It's difficult, has a very steep learning curve and relies heavily on playing with friends, which make Rust an excelent game for those players who love this kind of gameplay. 10/10 not not debatable.

When you play in a group its a lot more fun and you have huge advantage over people who play solo. You can play the game solo, on solo servers, but you arent getting the best experience.     Honestly just an abysmal game, the focus is seemingly around combat, melee, ranged, raiding etc; but the combat is just so unbearably awful and glitchy there is absolutely no fun to be salvaged from it.
    Hit registration is so bad it makes me laugh out loud, combat is laggy, solo's are completely powerless against groups (i don't think it should be easy but there is nothing a solo can do)    Honestly just an abysmal game, the focus is seemingly around combat, melee, ranged, raiding etc; but the combat is just so unbearably awful and glitchy there is absolutely no fun to be salvaged from it.

    I play rust on the ps5 version yes i know this is for pc version but there's is not out for some reason even though it came out today, i love and i hate it

    Killing new people and players is low: when you tell them you friendly they either dont listen or they deaf.
    Stealing people hardwork loot is really low; my stuff got stolen 4 times, i worked so hard getting it
    most of the time i more scared to come to a person to ask for anything to trade, help, or give why? because they can easy betray you or anything.
    There barely any weapons, food, loot, etc to get: its really low to get items I couldn't find a way to get cloth for sleeping bag so i can respawn to my house instead of the beach, there barely any cars and almost every area i been to is either too cold, or radiation or i get hit by scientists.
    Crashes, or bugs, plus older version of rust????, i didn't know it is old version of rust but i hearing they updating it soon
    this game will make you rage depending on how much you loot, how much you earned it kinda sad they cant make where it free type i seen more survival games allow solo modes where you can explore freely with no people, or custom games    … Expand

    Rust was almost a job for me for a while. I played the game all the time because I just wanted to survive and build the best base and that's actually a plus and minus of the whole game. I'll try to explain it to you. I don't play the game today and I don't know if anything has changed, but I will be based on what I experienced and what it was like. I learned about Rust from a friend that this is such a real Minecraft in multiplayer. Subsequently, I saw a few of Pedro's videos from the game and I really liked the game overall. So I decided to buy it and try it. I was really satisfied. So I also recommended the game to friends from my area, and Rust just bought one of them. He was happy with the game as well, so we started playing the game together on one server. We played the game here and there once a week. It didn't take long and we lost everything. Our house, raw materials, our items. We have found that Rust is not just a game for a Saturday night, but a game that you have to play regularly every day for a few hours to have the best ingredients and to regularly maintain your house, which will decompose over time and therefore you have to constantly harvesting wood. So we played the game actively, especially me even without my already mentioned friend with the intention of getting at least some raw materials, so that I don't wake up the next day with the fact that our bass was killed by some fighters. Let me tell you, I haven't experienced more stress in the game than here. Not just me. Even my friend, with whom I played the game, said how stressful it is that the next day, for example, our 100 hours of logging will be discarded.     Flaming pile of **** The only fun you'll get out of this is ganging up on nakeds and roof camping, at least that's what I've learned from the type of cave-dwelling freak that either plays it regularly enough or joins a zerg as not to instantaneously get stomped into dust.

    The best game on the world for me. it was really good survival game and if you have really good items soo much you will not go outsite with it because this game isnt easy you feel the game gives the survival challenge very well.

The game requires a lot of practice but can be very rewarding in the future. I understand that you can loose loot to a 6 man clan and you can't do much about it. But there is so much you can do to counter this. You can go on servers that only allow solos or the max team size is three. Most people don't understand that this game isn't just a survival game but is also a competitive shooter. If you are tired of loosing loot then go on a pve only server. But for most people you're just going to have to practice, yes you can loose hours of progress in under a minute but you are also able to get someone else's progress in under a minute. I know it sound cruel but it is true. Thats why pvp is so rewarding, even if you took someone else's stuff, they can still do the same thing to someone else. I like to call this the circle of rust. The gun you just picked up off the guy you killed could've been someone else's gun from many other people that have died. Sure, looting and gathering resources is a major part of the game. But learning pvp and staying calm is a much bigger part. Being able to realize it's just a game and all your loot does not really matter can make the game much more fun. If you don't want to grind then you can easily just mess around with friends or with other people. What you do in the game and how you want to have fun is truly up to you. People dump thousands upon thousands of hours into the game. The game requires lots of dedication, most people probably wont have a lot of fun at the start of their play-through especially if they don't have a friend to teach them. I recommend going on youtube and watching videos to learn the game mechanics. One of my biggest gripes with the game is that it does not cater to new players at all. There is no tutorial at all, so pretty much everyone is going to have to go on youtube to figure things out or have to ask a friend. The game tells you what to do but not how to do it. So thats pretty annoying in my opinion. All in all, I recommend that before you review the game you should try different things and play until you get to endgame, then once you've done that try and make a review.… Expand

    I bought this game in summer 2019, when it was raw. Of course it's not the best game in the wrld, and it won't be it. First problem is Unity Engine! They use this Engine to upgrade their game, to add patches and etc. But it would be better, if they do their engine or change it. Why?     pass through textures (yeah it is nothing for many people but it would be pleasantly if there were less such bugs), what isn't cool. And it is a problem of Unity. Second problem is cheating in Rust! Well i'll start by saying, that EasyAntiCheat is the worst AntiCheat to my mind. I remember, that in one game i have crashed many times (it wasn;t Rust, It was Dead By Daylight) and problem was in this AntiCheat. There are many cheaters on the official servers of Facepunch, and they get banned after along time. That's why it;s better to play on the servers with Mods, because they have moderators.
    Also i forgot to say about spawning. Usually i spawn in the textures and sometimes it happens that I spawn and immediately die.
    Well it was all minuses of this game that i know, that;s why my rate is 8.6, and rounding it turns out 9.
    The game is very addictive, and the idea is very interesting, they say only the best survives. All these ideas with house raids, oil rigs and ships loot are very cool. Yes, it also happens that you can become very angry in this game, but the main thing is to get pleasure from it and play with friends.    … Expand

    I think this is the worst survival game on the earth. Loadings with HDD are too long, if you camp you kill people and research mechanism is too much random.

    It's a good idea, the implementation seems to be also good, but here the survival is 40%, everything behind the scenes is pvp. You need to train your shooting skills, reaction and know everything about the game.

    People who are complaining about toxicity and griefing are not very smart. The whole base game is build around that but if you don't like that stuff and still want to play the game there's like hundreds of roleplaying and pvp disabled servers where you might have more fun especially if your new.

    Most complete game at 2020, the dificulty is only the dificulty of playing against other people, if you are smarter and better, you win, if you are not that but have a good strategy, you can survive, if you are a roleplayer, there is ways to have fun without alot of frustration, play and enjoy

    This game was terrible in alpha and hasnt improved at all. I spawn and I'm already starving. Theres nothing to eat because the few scarce resources they put in the game get camp by no lifers. It feels like this game was the first attempt at something by a new team of game designers. Ones that should find a new profession.

    Neat concept. Gathering and building is fun, but the game is buggy and unfinished. Cheaters and hackers are rampant and break the game. It's basically unplayable until they address it. Skip this game...

    This game gets a lot of things right, the only thing it doesn't? Being bad. If you put the time into this game, and you love first person open world PvP, this game will be super rewarding. It's not about the loot. It's not about building a base. This game is a PvP game, if that's not for you that's all on you. Also, if you suck at playing a game that doesn't make it bad, that makes you bad.

    Excellent game for those who know how to be patient. The game is difficult and time consuming, the community is often merciless but a victory is savored all the more when it is acquired in adversity. Addictive and constantly evolving, Rust is the game of my long playing career.

    Good cooperative survivor. Of the minuses after pumping the entire server, people leave it and you have to go to another server and start busy.
