  1. Help Brian and Gina to solve their last adventure - It's definitely worth the while.
  2. It’s an instant classic, not less.
  3. Runaway: A Twist of Fate is a great adventure and a dignified finale of the Runaway triology. It sure does not have the deep story of The Whispered World or A Book of Unwritten Tales but it sure feels like a monolithic system. It’s cinematic presentation with it’s stylish graphics and frequent cutscenes in cool cartoon-style along with some unexpected cliffhangers and surprises kind of forced me to play the game at a stretch. Runaway: A Twist of Fate is a thrilling adventure that entertains the player from the beginning to the end. Just great!
  4. In conclusion, Runaway 3: A Twist of Fate is fun adventure game of a dying genre. It may not feature all the action of some titles today but if you're looking for something witty and challenging to boot, than there's far worse than this game.
  5. A Twist of Fate is an ode to classic point'n'click games. An interesting game, with great visuals, that delivers many hours of fun. Highly recommended for hardcore point'n'click gamers, and one of the best works from Pendulo Studios yet.

Pendulo Studios has made its homework and Twist of Fate becomes an homage to those classic adventure games every videogame fan remembers.
  7. Runaway 3 is a great game for point & click adventure fans. A thrilling adventure that entertains the player from the beginning to the end.
  8. A Twist of Fate closes the trilogy maintaining the good quality level of the whole series. There are no innovations but a nice plot, visual and puzzles.
  9. A Twist of Fate has restored my faith in the Runaway series, thanks to its engaging narrative and streamlined interface. This is a great game for Runaway fans and newbies alike.

Magnificent finale of the popular adventure trilogy comes with thrilling moments and unexpected twists we never believe we’ll ever see after the sluggish second part. [Issue#186]
  11. Runaway 3 is not only a great ending for the franchise, but the best adventure game ever created in Spain.
  12. The third chapter of this classical adventure delivers some thrilling puzzles and an intriguing story.
  13. A Twist of Fate is an exciting conclusion to the successful saga of Runaway. Lovely graphics, a fun and engaging story, and logical puzzles make this product a great pastime for those looking for a funny point and click adventure.

The darker story and high production values make this one worth a peek, but otherwise its nothing special. [May 2010, p.70]
  15. Like its predecessors, Runaway: A Twist of Fate is a romantic comedy masquerading as a point-and-click adventure.

Almost one decade after the first game the story is still interesting. But personally I liked the first game most.

Forget about hovering your mouse through all the screen in search of a tiny object you could have missed, this tab allows you to see directly what is available for interaction within the scene. This saves a lot of time and allow the player to focus on solving the puzzles.

On to the scenario: without spoiling, there is a huge cut, both in the storyline but also in its style ( The Dream of the Turtle was turning to a weird science-fiction) with the previous episode, so much that in the first few hours, I started doubting that this was the sequel of The Dream of the Turtle , but it really is. If you remember how The Dream of the Turtle ends, you expect something extremely different from the story than what is proposed in the first few chapters. It takes time, both for the developpers, but also for the player, to put all the pieces together and to understand the whole story. At times it looks like the developpers just wanted to completely reject their old work.

On the technical side: the resolution is capped to 720p. You can select higher resolutions but it just fills the border of your screen with black bands, which is a pity. But considering this game is very old, that is not so surprising. No crippling bug this time, unlike in The Dream of the Turtle .

A clear recommendation from me, although the end is quite uninteresting.
