In the end there’s no doubt RPG Maker MV gives you everything you need to make a great game. With the community always expanding the possibilities of the program with new plugins and graphics you could really make anything you can think off. This is a great tool that can make your ideas become reality.

A nice porting but without mouse and keyboard support, and the chance to create commercial games.

Now you can make RPG Maker games and have them work on all platforms with a web browser.

The editor software is mostly for editing the content and requires no knowledge of Javascript. It comes with many plugins that were considered "necessities" in VX Ace. Base resources include a Fantasy set and a SciFi set.

Pros: Javascript based engine on top of pixi.js. Uses node.nw as the game client on Mac/PC. If your computer can run Chrome, it can run the game. Stock graphics are useful, character generator can generate millions of character variety (but all have the same basic face.) Plenty of free plugins included, and the community creates new resources and plugins to do new things.

Negs: OpenGL ES2 support on is flakey or broken in many driver versions. So one person may get a 60fps game, and another person may get 5fps on the exact same hardware. Downside? Not all devices (or browsers) are built to the same quality, so while your game may work on all platforms, not every platform is a good experience. Additional resources (mentioned on the Japanese site) are forthcoming but not ETA.

MV is a good RPG maker software (after it reached version 1.6. every version before that had big issues)
The advantage of MV over it's predecessors is that you can now makes games for Linux, Mac, Web and mobile. Where the predecessors were always limited to PC.
However in comparison to the new MZ, you should not bother to use this system and just go to the new version.

Sure the games you export can be played on Linux via HTML 5, but the price tag for that just doesn't warrant it. There is no way to export to Android or iOS within the actual program, and requires quite a work around to get it working. Java Script is arguably worse than Ruby for scripting, and those of us who spent years since RPG Maker XP learning Ruby are now clueless. JS is so ugly in comparison. JS is understood by more people, but not the audience that this is aimed at. Javascript is bad, and causes memory leaks, it is a security risk to have on any computer, and it causes buffer overflow issues. This program should be avoided at all costs. There is nothing that you can't do in MV that can't be done in VX Ace. If you already own VX Ace, just skip this version and wait for the next.

-The whole program feels like it never made it out of beta, and is unfinished.
-The UI is just ugly in comparison to older versions
-Lack of export functionality for iOS and Android
-JavaScript and the nightmare that comes with it
-RPG Maker VX Ace is now cheaper and does everything you want, including exporting to Android much the same way MV does
-No real improvements to speak of

It feelsWhile I think the idea of this software is great the changes from VX to MV are not significant enough to warrant a $70 price tag. It feels like the developers either rushed out the product or did not spend enough time improving things.

What I don't understand that It seems like they spent the time reaching out to developers to made scripts prior to its release, a lot of those scripts should be basic functions in the application and by making us require these plugins it means that we have a lesser experience from it. They should of incorporated these plugins into the program or hired said scripters to aid in their development.

-Include functionality that most basic plugins have
-Remove hard coded functions (fixed movement speed, event size etc)
    -have more default assets
    -have a proper android / ios / html5 exporter
    -Have a proper resource manager

I really hope that they actually learn from this release and patch it with the added features because I think that if they actually take the time and overhaul a lot of the stuff in it that this program can be really awesome.
